I can see the beauty that was once here however it's possible due to covid the maintenance of this beautiful park has gone downhill. Everywhere I looked was dry. My mother-in-law who lives in Jamaica said that there's only hope here now and no Gardens! Oh dear🤦🏽‍♀️ I managed to capture the only fountain that was working in the park.

This is a wonderful, beautiful and well kept garden. My issue is that they charge you to enter while it has been placed in one of he most visited area of Hope Botanical Gardens. The largest fish pond with over the water bridge is located here which i find most serene and photographic.

Wonderful half day trip(full if bringing kids)! The gardens are worth a good hour walk, many photo opportunities, lots of different colors and beautiful flowers. The long path through the vines is sweet! The zoo was smaller, but the different types of animals was pleasantly a surprise. Lots of cool birds and you are very close to the big animals(safety close). The kid area was bigger, lots of room to play, plenty of climbing and swings. All in all, a great trip at any part of the day, shady trees keep most of the sun away.

Best part of Hope gardens. It is shadier, quieter, has a pond with amazing water-fowl that trill the area with their bird-calls. The cost for entry is $500 which is prohibitive for some. It is also excellent for photoshoots. They’re not very keen on events here because of the experience fixtures and the proximity to Hope Pastures. Do your best to not pollute the pond while there.

Very beautiful, if you go be sure to have the tour guide take you through. It was a very scenic tour that proved to be educational.

This garden shows Chinese architecture with materials all shipped from China. In addition to this, the grounds are used to test if a species of tree will thrive in Jamaica so there is a wide variety to see. The tour guide was fantastic. I've gone on their tour twice!

I really started appreciating this place during my time doing a community service course. Its adds a different dimension to the experience of Hope Gardens and is really nice to get away from everything. If you're like me, after exploring,m I just chill by the gazebo closer to the back😅. PS: THERE'S A CHARGE TO ENTER. Not sure how much it is now tho.

The Chinese garden is not yet completed but from what I saw the designs were nice. I hope they can complete it so that when the world can enjoy outside again fully, we can enjoy beautiful art and nature together.

Extraordinary tour of this magnificent gardens under the guidance of Mr. Christopher Creary...he has a ton of historical, botanical, and a myriad of general knowledge about the gardens. The gardens themselves are slowly recovering from the COVID closures but Mr. Creary helps you see beyond the overgrown grass or hedges. This is a must do if you are in Kingston.

While I've been to Hope Gardens a number of times, I had only ever visited the Chinese Gardens once, lol. I wish I could have seen this place in it's prime. For now, it is beautiful. It feels like a walk through China itself!

  • 4/5 Nayce R. 1 year ago on Google
The place is beautiful. There's a charge to enter the hope gardens property. They're also under construction so entrance was moved to their first gate. Nothing beats a relaxing day at the gardens. Bring food and blankets to spread on the grass. Perfect for mini parties or a lil afternoon date. Call first if you're going to set up an area for yourself. Theyre very strict in that regard.

The entry fee is expensive and it's not worth it. What are we really paying for? Aesthetics?

Make sure to get a tour from the cultural heritage overseer. He really knows his stuff and will give you a fantastic experience. It is beautifully done, make sure to take your shoes off for the pebble pathway. Real relaxing and a good massage.

Nice open area for a picnic or just to relax. Lots of trees to relax under, the property is also very big so you can find a little spot for your group away from others. Unfortunately there aren't any food establishment in the garden area, there is one reggae jamming truck, but there's no guarantee it's always there. The bathrooms are also few and far in-between so it's a bit of a trip to get to the restroom. But in general it's a nice refreshing place for nature lovers, just ensure you carry your food and blankets. The park closes at 6pm I believe

There are not a lot of places to take the family to just for relaxation and play. Jamaican parks were not designed with people in mind, they tend not to have enough space or shade. Chinese Garden is huge, it can accommodate a lot of people and still be safe for social distancing. The place is good for group activities, picture taking and just having a lazy day out in the open. The only charge is parking and for person's doing photoshoots.

I Went Here For the first time to do a photoshoot. It was a beautiful park. Here's why I give it 3stars. 1. $2500 to do a photoshoot... I think that was expensive but okay. 2. Went over there they only opened the male bathroom I had to change in the male bathroom Noooo Mirror Was In the male bathroom I had to be using my phone to try set everything straight that was a struggle!!... after taking my photos and leaving Then I notice they open the female bathroom, I went in there and it has about 2 or 3 mirrors! I was upset, because I paid my 2500 and couldn't get a mirror to look in. They open the bathroom so late. Hence the reason they got a 3star... But otherwise Good place for a photoshoot...🙏

The entire garden made me feel as if I was in one of those Chinese Kung-fu movies. The craftsmanship of the dragons and the large gazebo at the entrance were superb. The wooden bridge stretched over the pond that contained numerous lilies reminded me of a romantic setting where lovers would meet. This garden has so many aspects of it, one cannot be bored. Benches placed strategically placed in the right areas. So peaceful & relaxing. Also, makes me feel so close to my Chinese heritage. If this sight is common in China then I would love to visit there some day.

It was a great day to stroll through the Chinese Garden, we spoke to a guide there that was friendly and informative. We got the chance to to enjoy the peace, serenity as beautiful nature that the garden had to offer. There is a small secret! • Go to the very top of the steps say a short sentence/ phrase • Then stand on the tiny circle in the center and repeat.. You’ll hear yourself echoing throughout the entire place! A lot of people visited and were not aware of this! It was a great experience!
