Food was good, really good. I like the seating arrangement, felt like I was home eating but catered to by highly paid waiters and chefs. Meals are pricey, but you get exactly what you pay for, plus more. It definitely a highly recommended spot, and perfect for date nights. Update: quality of food is still excellent and the customer service is very good. You definitely get what you pay for, and you do pay alot.

This place is absolutely exquisite! The presentation of the food is exceptional. It's a bonus too when food tastes as good as it looks. The steak was very well seasoned and you can taste the seasoning in every bite! Our server was so personable and pleasant, and contributed to making the overall experience a memorable one. We will definitely return.

Took my wife here for dinner in the evening for her birthday. Service and ambiance was excellent. I was really blown away by the level of hospitality. Staff even came out to sing a bit for her, they really go all out for you. Special thanks to Chef Alex D Great (yes this was on his pin), Ricki-Ann and Tajay for really making us feel special. Needless to say I'm letting everyone know about this place. Definitely recommended. Oh by the way the food was perfect and there are price bands to suit anyone. It's good no matter what you order. Staff consistently asked whether we were okay with certain ingredients, not that we would have had challenges but it's nice to know that issues like that would be addressed. Yea man thumbs up!

Ok so it was the first restaurant I've been since the pandemic began and honestly, the food was excellent. The steak was lovely, omg the potatoes were divine lol. I'll definitely go back.

One of the best restaurant experiences I've had! Visited multiple times but decided on the very first visit that it was the spot for our upcoming film, Silver Silhouettes. The history that surrounds you is awe-inspiring; al fresco dining and the beautiful foliage gives you the feel of dining on an authentic Jamaican verandah surrounded by a well-kept garden. Even with non-diners moving around downstairs, there's still privacy/a feeling of seclusion. The manager, Carl, was extremely accommodating and friendly. We met Christian (not sure of the spelling), who was also very friendly. I literally felt like I was dining with family. Princess, our waiter, is amazing! The chef is amazing as well. I'm vegan and I thoroughly enjoyed my menu selection that the chef graciously accommodated. Love love love this place! I'll always be back. - Ava Maria

Fish wasn’t my favorite it tasted like it had meat season on it. The pork chops was good. Mash potatoes was perfect It was a good experience. I would go back.

The steak was amazing. I usually don't try lobster anywhere because it never tastes good. But this lobster was 5-stars. The whole meal was top tier

I had a great experience at the Steak House. The service was excellent, we arrived a little late so the kitchen was almost closed but the staff was patient and very pleasant. The food was also excellent: the grilled lobster was divine and the crispy chicken cordon bleu was everything. In summary I look forward to returning and I would definitely recommend!

Good quality ingredients. Nicely placed on the veranda inside Devon House so you can simultaneously enjoy your privacy and observe what’s happening on the outside. Interesting menu options. Okay service [no complaints but nothing to write home about].

The experience was a enriching one. The relaxed ambience on the verandah has a very calming vibe. The waiters were on time, courteous and very attentive. The seafood chowder rich, well flavoured, warm and delicious. I wish I had ordered a second round. The local grass fed steak was well prepared and the macaroni and cheese was my favourite. I would definitely recommend going to Steak House either for an intimate evening with your partner or with a group of friends. Also Devon House Bakery and Ice Cream Parlour are only a few steps away in case you have a sweet tooth as well.

It's very nice and the food is great.

I went for lunch with my 2 children today. I ordered a ribeye steak for myself, a ceaser salad for my 8 yr old and a shrimp pasta for my 7 yr old. The steak was ok but no steak sauce ( which would make it taste better), my daughter hated the pasta and only ate the shrimp and the salad dressing was so thick and nasty tasting my son who loves salads left it on the table. There was no price on the menu but because I am a steak lover who always get steak, I never dreamt that my food would be so expensive. Check out my receipt

Quiet ambience, decent staff and nice pasta. Place can get a little steamy if you don’t have a fan directly blowing at your table. The smoked herring pasta with chicken is to dead for, especially when you request extra spice.

The food was the only thing that was good about this restaurant. let me explain : 1) the waitress was rude and raising her voice at one of my friends at the table that it almost created a screen. 2) they were missing about 8 different menu items. 3) It was my wife's birthday and they had nothing to give her. bill was billing. wasn't pleasant. but the food was good only saving grace. Choose wisely.

Beautiful location at Devon's House. There was a birthday party on the patio and they were even filming a Netflix documentary that evening. The food was attractive and tasty. Decent wine and mixed drink selections. Prices (beside that market steak) are reasonable.

Absolutely divine cuisine. The best meal I have ever had on the island and not because it was my birthday. If you want to impress a date, fiancé or treat your parents I 1000% advise you take them here. The mushroom rice and filet mignon were perfection.

This is an excellent restaurant located in Devon House, Kingston. There vegan options are wonderful. The vegan section was closed off for the night and they still accomodated us. The waiters are wonderful and the place is beautiful ❤️. My experience was perfect......

I went here for a date night. The hostess greeted us, escorted us to a seat of our choice and offered us the Wi-Fi password. Excellent service.They had outdoor seating. We ordered pork chops, 8 oz steak and creme brulee. The wait time was about 25 minutes. Not bad. The food was tasty. However, the quantity was very small. The creme brulee was presented in a coconut shell on a banana leaf with coconut shavings. Lovely !

I attended for my birthday dinner which I made the lady aware of when I made my reservation. I was very disappointed that I was not even offered a complimentary drink or even a dessert with happy birthday written on it (this is standard anywhere else) The fact I was a lone diner and had to call staff to order a drink as I was just left at my table for the 1st 15 minutes. I waited over an hour for my food which was a medium well burger (which was overcooked) The meal did not even all come out together. I had a few bites and asked for a container as I could no longer eat due to waiting sooo long. (I was advised the kitchen closed at 9:30 so made my reservation for 8:30 and food still came out after 10pm) I was not happy with the overall experience off this place at all. As my server did not know it was my bday until I complained and left. For the quality of your restaurant I expected better and more attention to detail. The only nice thing was my cocktail.

We had dinner here on a Friday night. The food was delicious, high-quality and came relatively quickly. It was also surprisingly well priced. We will be eating there again.

The steak is too expensive especially to be in Jamaica. You will pay over $100 for the big steak so beware. The burgers 🍔 are delicious and reasonable. The atmosphere is nice. It's a small outdoor setting but it is worth going to but make sure you look at prices. The chocolate cake with mousse was very good. I went 3 times during my visit and will definitely go back.

Had the opportunity to have Dinner at The Steak House on the Verandah on 26 February. I ordered the filet mignon with shrimp, mushrooms, cononut callaloo.. and some fries. Paired with some sparkling water and a dry martini. I can honestly say it was the best steak I've had in at least five years; probably one of the best in my life. A generous portion of perfectly cooked medium-rare beef; asymmetrical in shape; and incredibly tender. Not a hint of out of place gristle. Obviously marinated, the flavour was sweet, with a hint of smoke. The Coconut Callaloo (something I've never had before) complimented perfectly. The shrimp - outstanding and lightly spiced. Even the mushrooms and fries were fantastic. This place is a gem. World Class. A professional needs to come down and review this place. Seriously.

Dinner here is really delicious and ordering to go is painfreee. Didn't have cocktails so I have no recommendations but if you're into steak, it's great to have a steakhouse to go to.

The t-bone steak was juicy and tender, done to perfection. The macaroni and cheese smelled divine. As for the oxtail gnocchi which is what I had, the sauce and oxtail were good, as for the potato dumplings, would have been better if it was sweet potato dumplings.

Great location. Inside the historical house of MR. Devon you will find this restaurant. Allegedly they have the best meat cut in all Kingston. I don’t know if this is true, but I will say that every time I try them , they are very good. The price though it VERY expensive. You need to fill your pockets if you want to eat here.

Exceptional customer service! Scrumptious food. It's on the expensive side but you pay for the "Good ting dem". Plus side on your birthday you get a free dessert which doesn't taste free...... the place clean and staff is extremely pleasant.

Treated my girl too a steak dinner for her birthday and the ambiance was good the staff friendly and the service was excellent. It's a bit expensive but its worth it in my humble view.

The food was great but the service was disappointing. We were a large group out for a business dinner which could have been part of what caused the issues with their service. While the staff was pleasant, they were slow to bring orders, some orders not delivered without explanations or apologies and two Colleagues were only told that they were out of salmon when others were receiving their entrees.

The setting on the veranda is really nice, but the quality of the steak could've been better, I had the fillet mignon with polenta because they were out of the signature steak. The polenta was good though. P.s their steak doesnt come with a side that's an additional charge

Do yourself a favor and visit Steakhouse on the Verandah Restaurant in Kingston, Jamaica. It’s the coziest little spot tucked away on the property of Devon House. It’s ideal for those on a romantic date, celebrating special occasions or dining alone. I experienced it this past Friday and I’m not disappointed! Our server Devon was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations, while considering our dietary restrictions. The ambiance was welcoming and charming. During our sumptuous meal, the owner came over to greet us and enquire about our experience. The food was delicious and creatively presented with some twists, including the use of Jamaica ‘tough water’ crackers. The steak, which we ordered ‘well-done’ was tender and flavorful. The jelly coconut water was refreshing and we couldn’t resist ordering several glasses. It’s the best meal and dining experience I’ve had in a while. The prices are 100% worth it! All in all, our experience was FIRE! We will definitely be returning soon!
