Update: I think they changed chefs and the escovitch fish is no longer as good as it was This review is for the Courtyard restaurant only. I haven’t stayed at the hotel but couldn’t find a google map listing for the hotel restaurant. The escovitch snapper fillet here is by far the best escovitch fish dish I’ve had in Jamaica, and it’s reliably tasty too . Too often at other places it’s awkward to eat with unreliable or faint flavour and sometimes very little meat on the fish.

The so called restaurant manager Roxanne is so severely and consistent with her lies. I contacted this lady about the valentines dinner that they advertised yet everything I call her about what's on the menu, she claim she will send it. It's 22 hours later since she promised to send it and I got nothing. Am sure the hotel can easily find a more competent restaurant manager.

Went to the poolside bar, had a mango mojito which has a nice kick of rum! The bar tender was courteous, the ambience was good. The menu is pricey and the food not very good. The pool side was a nice chill spot for drinks but not my recommendation for dinning.

I did not have the Marriott experience with my recent stay here. If you’re looking for a grand time I recommended staying at the AC hotel that is five minutes away. Poor service and management never followed up with me. Elevators don’t work, stuffy rooms that need proper cleaning, and be sure not to get a view in front of the pool as you will have no privacy.

Booked this hotel for a few nights over the holidays. We were on a short trip to see family. It was a fairly decent stay but the front desk was not very informative and thorough at check-in. I will spare details but some staff members were less than professional which was a turnoff. The hotel is in a good location right across from Emancipation Park, which is great. I had dinner there a couple of nights and the food and drinks were decent.

Stayed here for 18 days and it really was a great stay! From check in, to check out, the staff was courteous and friendly. I wish I could have taken the bed with me back home, it was so comfortable and I slept so well every night. The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet and mine had a GREAT view. Nice gym and pool to pass the time and sits right across the street from a park. The restaurant in the hotel never let me down, all the food was delicious. Sometimes it did take a little long if you we were dining in, choose takeout if you’re in a hurry. Breakfast was my favorite meal of the day, the buffet varied throughout the week and again, it was delicious!! Laundry was available on site, but with only one machine it could be a little hard to find availability throughout the day. Very few cons to staying here and would stay again in a heartbeat!

Excellent Service. Kudos to the Food and Beverage staff. Great hotel in the middle of New Kingston, Jamaica. Highly accessible. Great decor.

Staff was great, courteous and helpful. That said, found this hotel overpriced for the amenities offered. Food choices not great. There are other stays in the same area with much more for half the price.

Amenities were as expected, location superb as it us just across from emancipation Park.. you could enjoy the atmosphere of the events in the park without jostling with the crowd. Service was very slow - 45 mins+ just waiting for a small room service snack. Restaurant closed by 10pm 😫

The room comes in different sizes and they have a pool with a pool bar that has a nice vibe at night while looking to the stars. attendants are courdel and respectful. Breakfast there is okay, go check it out

I haven't stayed here but I've eaten at the restaurant several times and I've ALWAYS had an excellent experience. Special mention to Kimonique and all the rest of the team at the restaurant. They always make the experience exceptional. Plus, the food is GREAT!

I went for a breakfast meeting with a friend. I was not staying at this hotel. Breakfast is buffet style. Overcooked from being under the heat lamps, yet somehow also cold... I was offered coffee and asked whether I wanted milk with my coffee. I said yes. The coffee came. It was the colour of old paper... What is this I asked. Coffee with milk, of course... Now, I was not offered cafe au lait, or cafe con leche. It was standard percolated coffee. I said I'd rather pour my own milk, please. That wasn't an option. She brought another cup of black coffee and proceeded to pour the (1%) milk in front of me. Somehow she managed to do it again - old paper colour. (Do you know how much 1% milk you need to pour to get black coffee the colour of old paper?) I gave up and asked her to just pour out some of the white coffee from the cup and add some fresh brew. I live in the country where the best coffee in the world is grown. Being served washed out, hands-off, white coffee as if I'm a 4 year old in the land of Blue Mountain Coffee is a travesty. I hope the beds are up to courtyard standard (as I understand they're known for this) because the breakfast service is awful.

Great property and centralized. Food is bad and expensive. Chicken wings were served not well cooked or over cooked. Many times they were out of basic condiments like salad dressing and Ketchup,. I gave it a second shot and ordered a hamburguer, bacon tasted bad, very nasty. Forget about free available coffee that is typical in all Court Yard Marriots. Not here. Each coffe cup is about 7 USD!! Rooms are not bad, they are good as property still looks new. Forget if you are going for business. They had loud music until pas midnight while on my stay. I had to complain as I picked this hotel not for vacation, but for work.

I had a great time and was truly satisfied with the experience there. We were celebrating our friend's milestone birthday and had a wonderful waiter, Elijah. He went above and beyond to ensure that she had a spectacular celebration. The room was beautifully decorated, and his service was exceptional. My only disappointment was that I checked out and left my purse in the room. Unfortunately, I never put it in the safe. That I take full responsibility for. I called a couple days after when I needed some cash and it was then I remembered that I never took it from where I placed it. I called the hotel immediately and was advised that it was not reported found. That left a bad impression because I knew that it was left in the room. It seemed the room was not occupied up to the time that I called, so my conclusion is that it has to be a worker who took the purse. I don't want to accuse anyone, but I know that the purse with cash was left in the room. I know exactly where it was placed, and my cousin, who was with me, also remembered when I placed it there. If the room was cleaned and the bed linen changed, then it had to be seen. However, the manager on duty when I called said he interviewed the housekeeper, and she said that she never saw any purse. It has caused me to be highly suspicious of the workers there. However, I have prayed for the dishonest person who took my purse because someone must have taken it and hope the person will seek forgiveness and make a change. Trust me, that person will not be contented stealing from me.

Clean comfort atmosphere, however meals were pre ordered for large group 24hrs in advance. While dining we were informed some items were finished nonetheless.

I had a positive experience staying at this hotel. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the food is authentic Jamaican and the rooms are clean and spacious. It's also located just next to one Jamaica's largest recreational parks, the Emancipation Park.

  • 5/5 Auldrick B. 2 years ago on Google
Good location in the New Kingston area, just adjacent to Emancipation Park. Great view of said park from the south side rooms and also from the outdoor pool. Small but sufficiently stocked gym for a quick workout on a short layover. Covid sanitization protocols in place. Reception staff were very welcoming in true Jamaican fashion.

So Iv been here a total of 3 Times. This time in particular was for Father’s Day so we stayed over for the night. As always very clean and spacious areas. Loads of parking space, Great staff. We had dinner which was delicious. Then went for a stroll in emancipation park… the following morning we had breakfast which was also tasty and well cooked. Will always be my go to place

Nice place to go for drinks after work The music is light, the place isn't too loud or too crowded So it's good for conversation There are sections that are quiet enough for you to do some light reading if you'd like The food is pretty good! The deserts are lovely sweet treats The bartenders are great! I'd recommend the long Island iced tea, or their passion fruit cocktail (or the blended fruit punch - a refreshing non alcoholic drink) A nice get away spot in the middle of a very busy kingston!

Overall one of the best experiences i have had from the staff ....Shout out to Asia at the front desk and the restaurant staff who were A1 Breakfast and dinner 1/6 to 1/9. Now the main reason for my 3 star was the fact they had a hot water outage for 4 days..... This to me is a maintenance issue behind the scenes.....spare parts??? PM???? Recovery plans... I would try them again in the future due to the staff with the hope no repeat of some other issue in maintaining key infrastructure.

My husband surprised me by booking this hotel while we were visiting Jamaica, my home country. I highly recommend this hotel. The service was excellent, and it's located in the heart of Kingston and it's close to a lot of stores and restaurants.

Great hotel! Room was great, i felt at home. Huge bathroom, everything working. Good breakfast and nice pool bar. I have been on different hotels on the island and by far this is a great one. Prices are high in jamaica, so before making a reservation search for all the options and if lucky you'll get a good price

Very good location. Near Juicy beef(patties), Starbucks, KFC, Island grill, etc. Can request transportation to return to the airport at the front desk. Also taxis available at the front for day to day training.

This hotel was amazing, first I had reserved another hotel in the area for the holiday weekend of August 6th. However things never worked out because it was wok, I ended up accidently paying for a booking whilst online searching for another hotel on a third party site which happens to be Marriott. Upon arrival at the front desk the staffs that were working at the time were shining bright 🌞 like a diamond 💎 whilst giving me that warm welcome 🙏 They helped me out very well to confirm my booking and was very informative about the property and its surroundings. Overall the hotel is very clean, the staffs are very pleasant, the food is good, that pool view is beautiful at nights. I recommend a 5star for this hotel and I definitely going to stay again.

Everything was good except breakfast which is over priced at $20 and they don't even offer you a self service help yourself breakfast, you need to queue up and order which takes some time before you are served. One needs to ask again and again for everything additional in that breakfast which isn't ideal if you want to have a quick breakfast and go to work on time in morning. A self service breakfast can sort this out.

I'll tell you some thing that travel agents do not want u to know. When booking stays use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ They've got the best deals on resorts! So much better than using expedia, tripadvisor, hotwire. That's for sure!!! The experience was amazing. From entrance to exit, all staff members were pleasant and helpful. Food and amenities were great. Overall this location is amazing and one of those gems in the busy Kingston city.

passed by for a drink...in evening. hm, no ambience. ok as a basic bar stop, that's about it. Its a LEAD certified building, but it feels ordinary. Bar and pool area dull. Poor elevation is too high..above eye level, so one doesn't get a treat looking and a glowing pool at night. the lounge area is right below the ground floor rooms. Poor privacy for guests. distracting while one is drinking to see someone changing! Bar guy was nice though. No I won't be good again

Stayed there for almost a week. The hotel room was large, very spacious. However I had a front view which was not that great, but it was a nicer viwe during sunset ect. I didn't order any room service, as all the restaurants was 10 min walk down the Rd. Reception staff were OK however I got into a disagreement with Yolanda, I think her name was. I feel that she could have addressed the situation more professionally with out the need for body language.

Attended a seminar here for work and actually this was my first visit to the hotel. Parking is limited and so when we arrived the car park on location was already full so we had to park on the adjoining lot. Not a far walk however the sun in Jamaica these days are dread so anytime spent under its "blaze" feels deadly. The conference room used was not very big and lighting was not good for those seated at the back and in the middle. The table cloths seemed soiled, the servers took forever to serve the meal and we had to indicate our table did not have utensils as we were being served. The receptionists seem very bothered that we engaged them for directions to the conference room and did not readily acknowledge our presence. The bathroom was very clean which was a plus and the reception area was similarly spotless. The security guards at the entrance were pleasant and seemed well trained in their interactions with the clients. I did not overnight so cannot comment on the rooms. For primarily business hotel, it serves its purpose. Recommended.

Nice place for a quiet conversation and dinner. Good service always available based on my experiences there.

  • 3/5 Michael M. 1 year ago on Google
They seem to be well enough staffed, but I think I spent more time waiting for things during my 3-day stay then in any given 20 nights at a typical hotel. 20 minutes to have a key replaced, 15 minutes before anyone offered me a drink at the bar, 15 minutes to get a check, forever for food to arrive, etc. There is one menu that covers the two restaurants. Interestingly, the lunch menu is virtually the same as the dinner menu with identical prices but has much smaller portions. I will say the noodle-based meals were quite excellent. The jerk chicken was subpar, but I've come to the conclusion that that is an overrated dish anyway. The rooms are clean and excellent. The downstairs common area is pleasant. The pool area on the terrace level is nice, but the pool itself is absolutely tiny based on the size of the facility. It is like a one lane, half length lap pool.

Nice overnight stay for my wife and myself. Room and bath room very clean. Service, food and drinks available almost around the clock in good quality. The location in in the center of New Kingston next to the Emancipation Park but still nice and quiet.

Bartender Davioll - Marriott by the Courtyard Kingston Jamaica makes a HUGE difference when it comes to service with a smile backed by being exceptionally courteous. His ability to make you feel welcomed and comfortable clearly has impacted a positive impression on this hotel chain. Staff like himself and few others in the dinning area makes this a regular basis for dinner and drinks. Cheers to you all Keep up the GREAT work!
