Nice place to go for a quick swim as it's not too pricey for entrance as there is a cost to enter on weekends and public holidays but during the week, entry is free. Yes there will be areas with seaweed and little bits of trash, as well as the parking areas near the beach is a bit tight. It is best to go there with a lot of cash, as the price of food will put you in shock if you are a frugal person, so if you want to eat good, prepare to pay a grand amount of money lol don't carry less than $10,000JMD or $100USD. You can opt to carry food there if that is too much for your budget. Will still recommend for a good swim as the water is beautiful and it is ideal for the artistic soul.

It's been quite a few years since my last visit to Hellshire, and I'm happy to see how it's developed over time. It's much cleaner. If you're planning to visit, you'll find plenty of wood lounge chairs near the restaurants in a shaded area. There are tons of options available to purchase fresh seafood. I can't remember the name of the restaurant that I purchased my fish but it was excellent. I'm looking forward to another visit.

The beach is almost totally gone with the exception of one small section. The music is good, but the vendors are super aggressive and the food is grossly overpriced. Overall, it was ok, but don't see myself going again anytime soon

Not the hellshire we knew in the past but now it's a Hell shore with little to no swimming as the beach shores are limited. There's a $100 Jamaican fee at the gate to enter.

Nice place to visit for the whole family, with a mixture of tourists, open seven days a week with parking, mouth watering Jamaican food like seafood and jerk, Jamaican entertainment sounds. can be very windy at times plus no pubic bathroom available

Food 10/10, Atmosphere 10/10, Beach 8/10 (only because it start eroding but still a 10). Lovely for the family or just a moment way from the busy world.

The food was awesome.... our yearly trek. Fried fish and for the first time had lobster. Prices were decent. My only disappointment was they still serve parrot fish. Got to admit was sorely tempted but..... will be back next year. Provided there is still a land mass. That's another thing.... the beach is so absent.... totally up against the concretized land mass..... sad

Really nice beach with locals. If your a tourist please come dressed low key. Its a very high local visit place. So stay low key. Please refrain from visiting at night unless your with someone local. It definitely worth the try. Great beach and food. Please have fun and be safe.

I don't swim here alot anymore , but let me tell you this it's the best spot to enjoy a fish or sea food meal , pricey but it's really worth the wait and experience. Food done to order and to the way you like it.

A pleasant rugged local beach with a very wide variety of small retail outlets selling fresh sea food of all sorts and some basic household goods along with fresh and cooked consumables. Some tourists/visitors gifts also available for purchase. Moving onto the food... choose your fish/dish, have it freshly cooked, see the photos, no explanation needed - absolutely delicious.

Great beach to run to if you can't make it to the south coast. It has white sand and is free, I need of development however one of the most widely used beaches for locals on the Easter side of the island . One can purchase fish and other sea food the water is very warm.

Because it's my community beach . people's visited it world wide

  • 4/5 Mercedes B. 4 years ago on Google
The water is good but there isn't much any beach left. The water comes all the way up to the shops that are there. As you step out of a shop you're basically stepping into the water. There is nowhere to really lay down in the sand. Other than that, the water is good and it's a nice place

  • 3/5 Neeky R. 3 years ago on Google
It's not in the best of conditions as a lot of the beachside is eroded so only a tiny stretch of shore to lounge on. It's free entry and you can a ride a horse for 300JMD.

  • 4/5 bharat b. 6 years ago on Google
The beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in Jamaica about 30 min drive from Kingston. The color of the water is light green - blue which makes it stand out compared to the beaches in the West coast of Jamaica. There are a number of restaurants close to the beach but the ambience is not so great. I opine that the beach is not as well developed as the other tourist beaches here in Jamaica. I strongly recommend a sun-screen to be carried to the beach.

Hellshire Beach remains the gem of beaches in Kingston ..a must visit when visiting Jamaica.. if you want the best steamed and fried fish in the world check Flo’s fish shack..and while you are at it ask for Chalice he cooks the best garlic lobster that makes even Martha Stewart slap her mama..Global Warming is eating away at the coast .. so most of the beach is disappearing..but it’s still authentically the original beach spot for all

20 USD for 1 pound fried fish, if this is the best place where eat fish is also the best to get robbed. The beach is literally 20 mts always crowd. The only good thing are the reggae parties on sunday

Once a get away by Kingston and St Catherine residents. White sand beaches just outside Kingston. Also venue for the famous Hellshaiee fry fish and festival. Today, climate change and squatting has reclaimed the beach. No need to go there anyore.

(Translated by Google) A very clean beach, but beyond that it has nothing more to offer. You can arrive by truck, that is a plus if you are a tourist and want to save. The bus ticket costs $ 100 Jamaican dollars which is like 70 or 80 cents USD. And you will always find that characteristic smile in the Jamaicans. There is a man selling oysters and you can also try the roasted shrimp.

Was good, the different restaurants are amazing, in the late evening it turns into a somewhat beach party. It was good, the people are friendly also, would definitely go another time ‼️

  • 5/5 dyte h. 4 years ago on Google
Crystal clear water, always good for a morning swim. Beautiful white sand although reef erosion has made almost all of the beach vanish. Tasty fish, bammy and festivals are available at several restaurants close by. Avoid going on public holidays to avoid the massive crowds

  • 3/5 Ronice S. 4 years ago on Google
It was crowded and very hot at first because of the lack of any trees and the buildings kinda made the place look rundown. There are a lot of food places and "bars" on the property tho but also a lot of "idle" people walking around who look like they didn't come there to enjoy the beach. The water is moderately clean with just a few little seaweeds visible in the water. The tides are prefect tho.

Great for food....but the beach is sort of "run down"....stalls meet the sea....small area to swim on either side of the beach. This pic represents a really bad day...but on good days it's swimmable without the weeds.

Great food. A few more changing room facilities needed and if the stalls got together they could pay a cleaner and maximise the beautiful spot they have there. That facility will see more people visit the area as the weather is warm most of the year. Tidy up the place a bit

This Restaurant is a complete rip-off! They upcharged me for two fishes (they told me that the two fishes' weight was over 4 lbs ) so it was 2,000 per lb! So my meal here was almost 60.00 USD! So I was going to pay and leave but on top of that, their credit card machines were down and they wanted cash!🤦🏾‍♀️
