I come here maybe once every 3 months for lunch and it’s always a great experience. The food is really good and I love the ambiance. There’s a pool right in the centre with cascading water. If you find water relaxing it will be a plus for you.

I loved this location, the food was delicious, the cocktails were great, the atmosphere was pleasant. My only issue was the service, we had to wait almost 2 hours to get served. The place was very crowded and the waiters/waitress' were stretched thin. Overall I give this restaurant a 7/10.

Underwhelming. Utterly underwhelming. I went there for my birthday dinner with two girlfriends. From calling them to get a reservation the service was subpar. We were seated and left waiting for 30 minutes before someone came to us with water then to take our order. We had to ask a passing waitress for attention and her remark was very rude (even after that we waited a good few minutes before someone came) Our waitress was fairly decent but we had no check-ins, about how the food was or anything of that sort (it was not a busy night so that wasn't an explanation) The food, omg! The food was horrible. Badly seasoned, overcooked, burned, cold, old. It was just a very messy and disappointing experience. I mean they got wings wrong! Let's not even talk about the garlic bread, I have no idea what that was. Vegetable, vegetables, steamed vegetables; no sort of seasoning, not even salt. It tasted like it was boiled from the morning and left in the water. The fries were cold and dry. We got our food and in 5 minutes we asked for the bill, didn't even want to chance getting dessert there. The best things were the mozzarella sticks and shrimp appetizers, and of course they can't really mess up drinks. The only thing that worked was the decor and even that isn't something to write home about. It has a dim atmosphere likened to a date place but sometimes it was just too dim, a bit of light on the tables would have been nice (even if it was on optional one)

We got there about 8:30 pm, the restaurant was about 90% full. It was a bit dark for our liking. We had a little wait before we were even greeted by anyone. The person that greeted us and seated out didn't have a welcoming personality. Our server on the other hand was very cheerful and helpful and seems to enjoy her job. She was the best thing about our experience. The food was not to our liking. We ordered 4 items and only one item was satisfactory. We will not be recommending or going back to South Avenue Grill. One thing I can say, their portions are big, especially their pasta dishes. Expected better. Was a disappointment.

If it wasn't for the food and our server Rita they would have gotten four stars. That manager who handles person who entered need to learn people management as well as improver her customer service.

Beautiful atmosphere, consistently delicious food, photos don’t do it justice for the taste, drinks are also 5/5- only complaint is the time it takes to get the actual food even on a somewhat empty day.

After my experience here i would not invite a dog there to have a meal. The customer service was a disgrace. After being seated and placing our order with a group of six people we were told we had to move to bar tables and chairs even though the place wasn’t filled to capacity we had to split the group in half because the said bar tables weren’t large enough to seat everyone. The waitress and the bartenders were unpleasant to say the least and they took forever to serve the appetizers we almost forgot we placed an order there. When the food came we literally had to beg napkins because drinks were served without a coaster/napkin and the food as well at this point we had no appetite and was ready to leave at once. I will not be dining there again.

South Avenue Grill is an adorable hidden gem. We went for our anniversary celebration and it was convenient for us because we were staying at the 20 South Avenue apartment which was right next door, so we literally walked over. We did not have to book a reservation, we walked in and we were seated...the staff? Meh. The person that greeted us did not have a welcoming personality at all. That was a big turn off...1 star for customer service---work on that, they really made it obvious that they wanted to go home.We had a very longggggggggg wait for our food and though the vibe/ambiance was really romantic, rustic...we almost left. We were about to leave but our food came in time, the portion size for the price was good, I can't complain about that and we both had to get left boxes. The ribs were "okay", we've had better though; I like the mozzarella cheese sticks (could vary for others--I am bias because I like cheese). It was an experience--I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying, maybe you would like it amd have a better experience than I did but personally, I'm not mad for trying but this will be the last time visiting South Avenue Grill.🙃

This was a great choice for a relaxed, Sunday afternoon meal. The service was helpful and the food was very good. We had the shrimps as a starter and they were delicious; succulent and tasty in very crispy batter. Mains were steak and pork with apple, both were very enjoyable and generous portions.

The food is good here, ambiance is nice. Took my mom for her birthday and she was very pleased. Our salads didn't have sweet onions as indicated on the menu. Nevertheless it was good. We had steamed snapper to go and it also good. Our waitress was polite and attentive in the beginning but got overwhelmed and hardly paid us any mind towards to end.

It was great food and the service was good. While they didn't always have all of our water needs met and it took awhile to get all the food out it was completely understandable since our party was about 26 people. They had there work cut out for them and they delivered very well. The food was good. Personally I got the Rosemary & Mint Rack of Lamb with a side of Potato wedges and it was delicious. The Lamb was cooked very well and also had a great seasoning rub. Other people in our party also enjoyed it. This is a place that I would go back and eat at again.

The experience here was great, I enjoyed every ounce of my meal. The waitress was very friendly and kept checking in on us to make sure we were ok. Will be back soon.

Food portions were good. Food quality was subpar. Waitress was pleasant however the host that seated us was not as hospitable. We were hosting a birthday surprise however they failed to refrigerate the cake which melted n brought out the cake in the closed box with the candles still in the box unlit. I had high hopes for this restaurant because of the ambiance, but unfortunately, the service made my experience extremely unpleasant. I came with a group of people, including elders & we sat at a table for 6 people. We wanted to start with drinks and appetizers but weren't sure if we wanted to dine in. However, we kept a menu just in case we wanted to order more food. The waitress immediately told us if we were not dining in we had to sit by the bar (first time hearing this insanity). She asked her manager and she reiterate we had to move. Our group got divided because the tables were small and the high-top chairs were so uncomfortable. The waitress even had the audacity to ask my mother in law if she needed help getting up on the chair. They SHOULD NOT have moved us in the first place. The appetizers arrived first, but the drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. The food was plain and unseasoned and the drinks had little alcohol, making it not worth the money or time. Everyone, including the manager, had a horrible attitude and seemed like they'd rather be somewhere else. The only reason we stayed is because we wanted to enjoy the limited time we had with the family. But if I were alone, I would have left. I suggest not wasting your time or money in this place. Go somewhere else!!

Was way too strict, had my bridal shower there and we couldn't even play games in peace and nothing we did was inappropriate as we knew we weren't in a secluded area. Only giving a 3 star rating because the meals were okay. It rained and I was trapped inside the bathroom had to walk through there passage that leads to their kitchen 😔

Okay. It's my second time her and the ambience is so chill with the pool. I had mama moi jerk burger and it was succulent. I loved it. Highly recommend. They even include a small salad to make you feel as though the meal is healthy. I appreciated it. The pasta though is large and the shrimp and chicken one is amazing. Serves 3 people. Much love.

The decent steaks don't make up for the poor service. Won't be eating here again. You're better off going to Cafe el Centro and being treated like you're paying for your meal.

I ordered the grilled Teriyaki chicken with garlic bread and cold slaw. The chicken was thoroughly cooked and well seasoned. The garlic bread was great. The cold slaw was rather small, but was well prepared. The waitress was 3 courteous, and got the order right the first time as it was a large group of us seated at 4 different tables. I'd definitely return for another meal in the future. I wish the ceiling lighting was a little brighter to illuminate the table of food better.

Ambiance is amazing. The ambiance takes you away from the true location. Pasta portions are large, they could be shared with 2-3 people. Tomato Alfredo was a hit for us as well as the Jamaican Burger.

Went here several years ago and had the steak and it was good. Went back recently had the same steak and the food was horrible. No flavor. Poorly done. The service is ok but need better chef and decent size servings.

Dining out during the Covid-19 pandemic is never easy. We visited here at 4pm when the traffic would be low which we were satisfied with. Upon entering there is a hand sanitizer station that you can use to sanitize your hands, our temperatures were also check before being allowed to be seated, however through out the evening when it got a little busier that was no longer being done. The dining experience was great and the food is worth it. Our server was awesome and even realized she made an error on the bill after it was already settled......that was awesome. Overall the ambiance at that time of the afternoon was great especially since it is outside dining (reduce risk of catching Covid).

Did a small celebration of my 29th birthday here and it was great! We love south Ave grill pastas, value for money. Definitely recommend!

Central, cozy and nice little restaurant which offers dine in and take out. Wait for call in orders can be extended despite the time communicated when you order. Parking can sometimes be a pain as the car park is shared with adjoining shops. Our go to is lobster & chicken fettuccine which is absolutely divine...admittedly sometimes the lobster is more generous than other times. Ambiance includes a pool which is a plus so do check them out. They're rexommended!

South Avenue Bar and Grill was actually a very unique experience, and I mean that in the best way possible. So I decided to have drinks/lunch with the girls spontaneously and they chose this venue. First of all the place was very clean and I observed they had a sanitization protocol after each person left the table, which was great to see considering the pandemic. The server assigned to us was very pleasant (Michelle). The orders were shrimp scampi, chicken and shrimp alfredo, and coconut fish fillet with steam bammy. Food was mind-blowing. I’ve been to many places and ordered pasta, but never have I ever received that portion. It was almost like a whole box of pasta per plate. The serving sizes were big! I love that! Money’s worth guaranteed 👌🏾Drinks?! Nice bad! They really do mixed drinks well! Try the sea-breeze mix. You’ll love it! Absolutely going back!! This time I’ll try something other than pasta and will definitely review that experience.

Firstly I want to talk about the parking. Very small parking lot but extra parking was provided across the road. Which was good and bad at the same time having to dealing with the oncoming traffic, the crazy drivers who believe that the road belongs to them only. Just saying be careful to those that has to park on the other side. While the ambience of the restaurant was lovely, the surrounding building took away from it being that they’re under construction but once inside you’ll forget all about what’s going on on the outside. Lovely place and very easy on the eyes. I had to wait a bit of time for my food but giving that the place was full and people was trying to get in, I understood that it could have been overwhelming for the people behind the scenes. The food was very well presented to me and my family and it tasted the way it looked. AMAZING!!!! It was a mouthful of flavors, the food was well with the wait.

My wife and i went there for an evening out, got there and had to wait in excess of an hour to be seated, while we were waiting i asked the host if we could order in the interim and she said no. Ok when we got the table and made the order most of what i wanted on the menu was unavailable. So i ordered a full serving of baby back rib and wifey ordered the shrimp. It took an entire hour for us to get the food and when i got the ribs it was cold. The plating was unattractive with 3 thin slices of carrots and 3 string beans as vegetable with a dime sized amount of coleslaw. I was so upset and wanted just to walk out.but i stayed and ate. After meal i ordered a long island ice tea and a mojito only to be told be the waitress that those are not available sigh. Just wasn't a good experience

I have been dining at South Avenue for years and they are probably one of the most consistent restaurants in Kingston. The menu is extensive and the food is always excellent. You will never have to complain about portion or taste. This is an excellent place for a lunch or dinner link up. The atmosphere is quite and laid back. Guaranteed to give you a bang for your buck!

My first time visiting and I enjoyed the experience ! The ambiance was great , the place is beautiful and most importantly great for pictures. The food was sooooo good. My friends and I tasted each other's meals and everything was on par. I am going back

The food was excellent. Had the blue cheese burger and the fish fingers. It was crowded though and the food took an hour + to arrive (luckily we weren't in a rush). Call ahead to make reservations though because it gets busy.

5 stars, 10/10, always going back. This is my favourite restaurant to dine. I celebrate all my milestone moments here and head there when I just need to chill or treat myself. If you're a Jamaican who 'feel for sumn nice' every now and then, feel free to head to SAG. There's something for everyone on the menu and if you're a pasta lover you won't be disappointed. PS. Ask for Rita if you dine in on weekends. She's the best server you'll ever meet!

Beautiful and peaceful environment with a lovely pool, friendly staff with proper etiquette and professionalism. I would definitely return and would recommend this restaurant to everyone that love to eat good food in a decent environment.

Always recommended this plate whenever the CEO of my company is in town. I don’t know where they got this new management from. She’s not fit for the food service(restaurant) industry. Imagine we made reservations for 6 and they had us down for 5. More than half of the table of 14 were there and had to stand outside for an hour. Rules are rules, but her energy the whole night was negative. Even after we sat down, she didn’t want to give us additional tables for the rest of our group. Other persons also had complaints of her attitude. I just hope Philip knows what he’s doing because it was so bad. If we were evil, we could’ve walked out without paying for our drinks and appetizers. We were going to spend a lot of money there and enjoy ourselves to the max, at least that was the plan. I’ve never met anyone in the field like her. DISGUSTING

Not bad. Tasty. I had the pork. A little less volume than advertised. My wife had a filet. Very good. The veggies were done perfectly.

Visited during the lunch hour period so our order didnt take as long as if it wouldve had they been busy. Had the red peas soup as the appetizer and it was soooooooo good! Always had the pasta but this time I decided on trying another dish but the kebabs were so overdone. The beef and chicken breast pieces were so dry nothing could save them. Definitely ordering my favorite beef pasta next time.

Went there with colleges from work and the experience was very good. Food portions are more than i expected so that was a plus for me. From appetizers to entrees and even desserts were tasty and well presented.

Very good experience. Dined in on a Saturday night and the wait time was not long at all. Our waitress Shannon was great. Very attentive, friendly, & very quick on her feet! While dining it naturally got busier, and we were never neglected. She answered all our questions & came back with great timing for each round of meals. The ambience was great. It was quiet and had light background music so it has more of a chill, relaxing vibe to dine & have conversation. The food was good, my party had no complaints. I did make reservations so reservations may be encouraged, however at the time of my arrival there were still seats available & they accommodated other guests that may have been walk-ins, so this spot may be good for an impromptu dinner. We had to wait for a bit despite reservations made, but once seated, the atmosphere was more positive with lovely drinks and food while having great conversation with lots of laughter. The food took a while to be served once ordered, though, but it didn't dampen the mood. Can I tell you that our waitress for the night was super awesome with an impressive memory. No joke. Lol. It was overall a fun time for us.

I dined here today with my husband n son. Our waitress Michelle was awesome n attentive. For her to realize that I kept clearing my throat bcuz my sinus was draining n not brought me iced water without me asking was superbly big customer service for me. The food also was good. Hats off to Michelle, keep raising the bar!

I went and received subpar food as well as shoddy customer service from both the manager and the owner. I ordered two full racks of spare ribs which were ridiculously measly, and when I tried to query it I was informed that they serve ribs by the weight and not the rack. So, even though I ordered a full rack of spare ribs I would not be given more than 400 grams, which is less than a pound. When I tried to return the food, because they would not resolve the issue, they refused to take it back. Do not bother wasting your time if you want to enjoy good ribs and value proper customer service.

Great atmosphere for a casual outing, and the food was great.

The menu was not bad at all. So glad they recorded the prices in Jamaican dollars. However, it was pricey but within budget. The food ordered was done well, tasty and spicy at the same time. The drinks were quite fruity. The waitress *Magarita/Senorita/Rita* was very attentive, curious, she made sure we were served with class (as a professional waitress).

Nice food, excellent service, the staff really have excellent customer service. Definitely returning.
