I have always liked the food at East Japanese, but I think it's too expensive. When I compare what you get here with the same dish in Japan, the price here is horrendous. I understand that everything in Jamaica is overpriced, so I have accepted this. The food is authentic in taste, the the presentation is fine. Service, at best, is okay. Atmosphere is not to my taste because it was too dark and the music too loud. I had my absolute favourite Japanese dish - udon. This was basic (soup, noodles, and grated ginger) with tempura. I enjoyed it, but it was overpriced and not filling. Ordered the karage (fried chicken) curry with rice. This was okay. I have had better for less (in Japan).

Very good sushi especially cooked options. Just wish they were not all fried. Overall good atmosphere but felt like we had to chase the waitress to get her attention

Overall a good experience. The staff was pleasant, the food arrived in good time, and my red dragon roll was amazing 😍 The music was a bit loud for me personally but the music choices were great. My friends and I enjoyed our evening 😊

Wonderful place for Sushi

Night life is great there. Good spot for nice music and hang out with friends. Went for Beer Mug Fridays, and Krazy Kris was playing. Couldn't be disappointed as he was playing old hits, my favourite.

The vibe and tha ambiance was amazing, not too fond of the SUSHI but everything else was good.

i really enjoyed here, the food was amazing!

I have been here 3 times on a Friday evening during the last 2 months. The first time at midnight, it was very crowded & there wasn't much space to dance or move around. The DJs selection & transition was very good. The other 2 times they must have had a different sector as he talked too much & his selection was terrible. It's losing it's ability to entertain people with the music. Still too crowded with inconsiderate ganja & cigarette smokers smoking in the crowd instead of going out on the main patio with the rest of smokers to smoke. I had some soup, wasn't good & I was not impressed with the food choices.

Food here is ridiculously good but also ridiculously priced. Take it as you will, good food costing good money or just good money overall. Definitely know you gonna be dropping that paper for this dining experience. Nice environment and ambiance overall it's quite a spacious and enjoyable experience overall. Also side note feel free to ask for a fork if you are not chopstick proficient so you don't starve to death while trying to learn how to pick up your food to eat it.

The food was delivered quickly and was very warm. I definitely got the authentic feeling. Planning on going again.

It as a different feel with a indoor outdoor club setting, not to mention the ppl which was mostly the high society type. All and all I had a wonderful time and looking forward to go back and dance the night away.

East Japanese was a vibe, a really really great place to chill with friends or your significant other in New Kingston. ..the decor isn't totally Japanese, a lot was happening🤣 but the dishes definitely presented the authenticity of the Japanese culture. The menu is wide and varied, I was flipping through this menu like a textbook for days🤣😭 jk. The sushi was good 👍, the portion size was great, definitely value for your coins! The customer service is great, and the turnaround time was not as long. As a bonus, I went home with leftovers for another day, I loved the photo backdrop that was outside--we definitely took advantage of that🙃. Overall experience was great, definitely recommend, would dine again🤌 P.S. if you like teriyaki---that teriyaki chicken over the white rice was top tier. Should definitely try.

East Japanese brings a seemingly authentic Japanese taste experience. While the decor isn't totally Japanese, the dishes present the authenticity of the Japanese flavor. The menu is wide and varied. I've added a few pages from it in the pictures. Their sushi is worth the visit. The service is great, and the turnaround time was acceptable. You should have a go the next time you're in New Kingston. Additionally, I find that if you do their box combos, you'll get better bang for your buck.

The East location doesn't fail. Food is consistent, staff is friendly and responsive. Atmosphere has a bit of a club feel, but it's unusual and cool.

Servers don't come if it's a busy night I tried 4 times to get food went to the source and no luck .starved but there is street food in front thats great !

I've been here twice and both times the customer service was a bit off. The first time the cashier/server was not very attentive. The second time the waitress used too much of the vernacular in a distasteful way. The food is mostly great here except for the soup. I risk allergic reactions just to eat here. There is variety in the menu so it's not just sushi. I highly recommend this restaurant once they train up the current staff. Additionally, this restaurant is on the price end.

Very loud on Fridays but the food is good. Make sure you have ur money and don't worry about needing to know how to use chop sticks. U can ask for the plastic thing to help assist or knife and fork if your less adventurous.

Lovely place for hanging with friends and to party after your meal. Not the sort of place to go on a first date or any occasion where conversations will be necessary as the music is very loud. Otherwise, great place, nice vibe.

The experience was good. The food came quickly and hot. It was a belly full 😇. The food and ambiance are different than my liking, but a good different. The sauce used with the fries is my favourite. I think it is soya sauce, ketchup and mayo 🤗. All in all, the kids were happy.

Nice atmosphere for dinner with friends. The vibe really picks up as ut gets later in the night, and becomes more bar/club, less restaurant. Only drawback for me is that they don't do cocktails.

As with most of their locations, the food is great and the staff took our orders well and weren't rude but not friendly either. The atmosphere is a somewhat tacky party room vibe with disco balls.

Disco setting with a soundbox. I ordered miso soup, edamame, teriyaki salmon, fried mashed potato, spring roll, fried chicken dumpling, sushi rolls, green tea and vanilla icecream. The bento box items were great. I didn't like the edamame, green tea icecream and miso soup. The wait time for food was minimal. The bathroom was clean and had a led mirror. I found that really cool as I could connect my phone to it to play music as well as to touch it for it to illuminate. Great overall experience.

When I visited, it was my first time here and I was very pleased with the sushi. I got the ramen as well and while it didn’t taste bad, I was expecting it to be much more flavorful. Overall, it was a good experience though.

Loved the DJ! As she spun sounds from the sixties and beyond. The music changed as the crowd did. The DJ kept things lively and upbeat. The food and drinks were good! (We didn't eat much, just nibbled) The atmosphere was cute too! Saw a lot of first dates in the crowd. The mixture of the crowd was very pleasant. From young to older folks, locals, and visitors, etc. As the night went on, the lights went down, and the dancing began! My only suggestion is that they need a sign to help you return from the bathroom 😀 especially after a few 🍸.

Went before, and I'm here to report that it is still overpriced, with mediocre food and service. The best thing about this is the location and opening hours, but if you know a good pan chicken man...I recommend you use him rather than go here🤷‍♂️

I have altered my review because this restaurant has made alterations to its service since my last review and I want to honor the improvements that they have made. They organized their menu, the food was still just as great as my first visit. In conclusion, I would highly recommend East Japanes and will definitely be returning!

Unbelievably difficult to get to from the underground parking lot. I found it easier after exiting the shopping Centre entirely and entering from outside. Consistently good food. Fresh sushi. Tasty cooked options. Generally overpriced. If decor is important to you, go with the Annex location...The style at this location is eclectic but the finishes are poor so it looks chaotic

Poor service by incompetent staff. Every day they get worse. I only suggest going when it's empty. The Annex location isn't much better, staff would rather chat and idle than pay attention. Been a customer for years but I'll no longer be one.

Great Japanese food. Fresh made and delicious. Beautifully arranged plates. What is incredible is that the place transforms to one of the most happening spots in Kingston Nightlife.

Had a good time, enjoyed the food and the drinks. It food get a bit loud toward the end of our evening, but the dj was doing her thing, and the party setting was starting up for the evening. We had an excellent waitress - she was switched on - better than average for the local scene. I'll be going back.

Service was nice (then again I was there during the slower hours I think). Food came in a timely manner and the portions were good. I went for the ramen but their selection wasnt as varied as the one located in marketplace. Planning to go back and try other things on their menu, so this might change based on that.

Splendid. I love this place.

Great service as always. Really miss some of the menu items from Market Place like the Tokyo Noodles, but the Teriyaki Bowl, Kara-Age and spring rolls are some of favourites for a quick grab and go.

Very clean place to dine may be a bit costly however, the food is very good.
