Some of the staff was very pleasant and nice. Someone was always close by to take an order to take advantage of your all inclusive drinks. I also love that you have the convenience of the beach and the pools. I however felt as though the place needed some updating. The elevator wasn't well kept, my shower wasn't working. I had to call them to fix it. I also had to exchange a light in my closet where the bulb was out. Every restaurant we visited during our stay for dinner, the wait time was very long for our food during dinner time. We were at a wedding on site and the food also took forever to have dinner. Poor service on the food side. There were too many little issues to mention for the price that it is. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The kids would have a great time.

Overall a great experience for the whole family, but many small issues added up to a less than perfect experience. The people are amazing. Jamaica culture can't be beat. Beaches Ocho Rios is defined by the top notch, and fun, staff. The amenities were dated but not bad. A sticky door, outlets that don't work, etc. Small things. 8 dining options but few options at each restaurant. Nothing was bad here, but nothing quite made it to stellar. Greek Village is the best of the 3 lodging options. Overlooks the ocean with a great patio front to relax and say hi to everyone passing by. Great for kids. We have teens. They loved the freedom and being treated like an adult when asking for food or drinks or partaking in the amenities. Would definitely come back here again, but trying other Sandals/Beaches first before our next return.

We're here October 2021 for a destination wedding of 50 people and everyone had a blast! All departments did a super job organizing and executing the wedding events, culinary team provided great experience and overall we had a great time. Thanks for making our clients wedding dreams come true!

What can I say really about the resort. Generally it's looking a bit tired and dated. The complex could do with a good renovation. Would not class it as a 5 star venue. The rooms we were in and was in 2 had a damp smell and that was even present in the cushions on the sofa bed. In one room we seemed to have an issue with cocktroches and still the same after a treatment. The food was very hit and miss with generally not lots of flavour to it in many of the restaurants. The saving grace for the resort was the staff. You could not find a more pleasant and helpful set anywhere. Nothing was to much and often went above and beyond to make things as comfortable and pleasant as possible and was always done with a genuine smile. The only reason I would go back is for them not the resort itself. 10 out of 10 for the staff even higher. 5 out of 10 for the resort

The Jamaican people are wonderful and the location is amazing. In all, I would do it again but vacationers should know: - The resort is generally in disrepair and will soon come off lease as Beaches moves down the street to a new location (facility likely lacks an adequate maintenance budget. - Windsurfing equipment is inadequate for people who know how to windsurf (no sail larger than a 3.3). - Portion sizes are TINY. Order multiple main courses to accommodate anemic portions. - Many staff feel trapped, prisoners on the island with excessive surveillance and employment fear - and they're happy to volunteer how challenging it is to live in Jamaica. - Staff shortages likely explained random restaurant cancellations and delays but the resort generally lacks candor and leaves guests anin the dark related to last-minute changes (reservations or otherwise may not be honored). - If you leave the resort, be sure to understand drive times. Some events may take 3 hours of driving for a 1/2 hour event. Best off-site experience was the falls (also close). - Do the snorkeling and/or scuba - Rent the Cabanas since guests hoard spots at the pool and for $75 / day, it's a no-brainer - Be prepared for an almost two hour drive to/from the airport. - Be aggressive with staff who are happy to make excuses to get you to go away and avoid conflict (again, they live in fear). Don't accept "no" - insist. - Expect certain trim, areas of beach, to be in disrepair. The main areas (room interior, pools) we're fine but you can see it's a bit warn out. - Pay attention to your specific room. Some feel like an ocean-front resort, others more like a Days Inn - Understand that a positive COVID test before your return flight could get you trapped in a foreign country that owes you nothing and could force another 10 days of vacation (but not necessarily in your room or even the ability to leave your room or visit the pool) - the cameras and staff will get you. - Absolutely get the CLUB MOBAY at the airport to make your life a little easier. - BRING CASH!! The resort has no ATM and will only advance $100 with a 10% fee. You need cash for certain tipping situations or even the gift shop and the resort makes getting cash unnecessarily difficult. - Be Patient. Staff may be new or limited and they may make mistakes. We had a 1 hour wait for a crepe and a 1/2 hr. wait at one restaurant. Generally wait times were fine. I recommend setting up reservations with the concierge when you get there (worth the time) although the concierge inexcusably acts as though he is doing favors for you and gets frustrated if you ask more than one task (insist and ignore him). - Expect rude service at the late-night BBQ which, often the only place to eat. They are trying but they dislike their job (and tourists) and it shows. Was it worth it: Yes & with proper expectations.

I do recommend Beaches. Everything about the vacation was great, except the food. There was limited Jamaican dishes available, and the taste could be better. Despite that, the vacation was great, and my 3 year old had a blast! The Sesame Street crew were exceptional and above expectation - well done! The water sport team were exceptional, and they do go out of there way to make sure you have a good and safe experience. Natalia took my wife and I for "Snuba", and it is definitely recommended. The hotel has a No tipping policy, and while I'm OK with it, I wish they would give us an option to acknowledge staff that clearly go beyond their duties and responsibilities to make sure you have a good experience. The restaurant service and our concierge team were very kind and patient. We received no bad or rude service during our 7-day stay. The room was clean, and they cleaned daily. The grounds were well maintained. Even the security detail felt like part of the Beaches team, and were welcoming. As mentioned, I would only like for them to have more local dishes/restaurant.

Food and drinks are great, even the times we decided to eat at the buffet. They took the same attention to detail that the other restaurants took. Staff has been phenomenal. Friendly, funny, and putting kids first. It's been fantastic and I'm glad we came. In fact, we're considering making a Caribbean Beaches resort a yearly trip for our family. I definitely recommend here for family atmosphere and relaxing vacation for all ages.

Customer Service was welcoming and fairly responsive. Rooms are dated and badly in need of upgrade for the cost of this resort. Food was ok. Very disappointed with the golf course. Marketed as a golf destination. No mention prior to the trip or booking that the pro shop/club house had burnt down. No food offered. Course was in rough shape overall. Greens are an afterthought. (Roughly half the size that they should be.) In summary, there are a lot of options in the price range that these Beaches Resorts command with much more modern amenities and a properly cared for golf course and facility. Happy to discuss in greater detail with management if you are interested.

My wife and I got Married on 5–6-22. The event staff did a unbelievable job and everything went great! Elizabeth, Carlos, Andrew, and I know I’m missing a few others. But wow what a great team! And if you aren’t here for a wedding go see Uroy at the bar by the pool! Me made my wife and her best friend some great drinks. I think they were called just for you! He served me a lot of red strip which was cold and amazing! Make sure you go to all the different places to eat. And try to taste it all, because the staff makes every meal special. Golf was really fun, but being on the water and just enjoying that was more then enough. My wife and I are divers and we went on four scuba trips. Even got her to do a night dive! I can’t tell you enough how awesome all the guys who captain the boats, dive masters, deck hands, and dive shop employees are you just get to know them so well. If your reading this and even thinking about booking just go you won’t have a bad time.

This is an amazing child friendly Resort. Taking your child here is definitely what they need for vacation. Kids here are treated like Royalty. And kids will love every moment. The kids camp from 8am to 8pm is amazing. Mommy can have a spa day without worrying.

3.5 stars over all. All in all we had a great time. The resort itself is older and needs some repairs. They seem to be doing some repairs when we were there. The staff was great. The food and drinks are amazing. I didnt like that you have to go down 4 levels of steps to get to the beach. It's a lot of steps! Definitely geared towards younger kids. Not the place to go if you want to party at night. The kids and adults alike loved the little water park. 💧 The grounds, landscaping and flowers are beautiful!

This resort is super old and outdated. Walked into the room (3309) and the sliding door was open because it wouldn't shut so they came and "fixed it" found 3 pieces of GLASS in floor and I had 2 small kids traveling with me! Couldn't open the sliding door again and they came and fixed. Had a mildewed cup outside the pool, the shower head fell on my husband when he went to move it. All of the sidewalks are disgusting. They don't have any pool towels outside the pools once the sun goes down (even though the pools are still open) so its very inconvenient. out of the 5 days and 4 night there, I was only offered one drink by the ocean and none by the pool the whole trip. Dinner was a disaster-Neptune's the seafood restaurant is closed for renovations (I doubt its ever going to open back up). So only 2 other dining restaurants and 1 was closed on Friday night so the other restaurant was packed out! Service was very slow in the restaurants it took us 2 hours to eat. The buffet was okay but nothing great. All in all I would not go back. The pool main pool was nice (but never could get a good chair they all just had towels laying on them) and then the ice was good and that's about all I can sayabout the greatness!

Second time here, a handful of years ago felt more magical. Staff is still super nice and attentive, beach is great, food and restaurant ambience is still good. Overall a good trip, but facilities and upkeep are getting run down. Phone didn't work, shower wasn't hot, leaking ceiling from AC into closet, poor lighting in rooms (when they worked). Yes, they fixed some things as needed once we asked but, for what we paid, was pretty let down with the constant issues. If they do a complete renovation would consider returning in the future.

The service is what truly won me over! I cannot say enough good things about the staff. Rooms were nice. I had a balcony which I loved for early morning coffee. Only one restaurant did we have trouble with otherwise seating and wait times were reasonable a d food was excellent especially the French restaurant. We didn't receive out daily bottle of wine. But since I'm not a big wine drinker I let it slide. Water park was the biggest hit with the kids as was Sesame Street characters. Overall, a really good vacation. My sister has already reserved for a future stay.

Booked this trip in 2020 prior to COVID-19, then had to move it to 12/28/21. The day before we were to leave, a family member tested positive COVID and they charged us $1,300 to move the reservation! They never gave us the option to cancel either. Since this resort gouged us in the middle of a pandemic, we will never travel to a Beaches or Sandals resort again.

Where shall I begin? What you see in the pictures is clearly not what you get. In the pictures it looks really fantastic, when you get there it is a dilapidated hotel which has clearly had its glory days. It was really awful! We paid $1100 a night and that's way too much. Shameful! The hotel is an all inclusive resort, we knew that, but the food wasn't too good either. Especially not the buffet. - You are called out of bed: for photos that are still ready (never asked for), for offers to come back to the hotel next year. - Pushy salespeople who are allowed to enter the resort. - Staff arguing behind the bar/kitchen. - Can't make reservations for restaurants under 10 people, so with a family you have to queue every evening. - Music on till late, then drunk people yelling in the hallways. - They are very early at your door for the minibar. - Come to clean very late and clean with the mop they use to mop the whole hotel. - The air conditioning is outdated so you get a sore throat, everything moisture is inside. The sofa is wet because drops of water (moisture) fall from the ceiling. - The hotel is dirty, neglected. - You get drink from dirty cups. We paid a lot for this hotel. We don't mind spending (a lot of) money on something, if the quality is right. This was clearly not good value for money. And you will be fooled with what you see in the pictures.

In summary- You should believe the negative reviews and try and find a better resort in Jamaica. There was nothing uniquely good about this resort. I would not consider it a "5-star hotel." Although Jamaica is an amazing place to visit, but there has to be better resort options than this. The food took forever and was just okay, there was no room service, we had no hot water twice, our bathtub faucet broke off, there were communication issues about the excursions and needing a crib in the room. There were a TON of stairs everywhere- with a stroller it just wasn't convenient. This place desperately needs a renovation. The 3 stars are because the island itself is wonderful and the staff is very kind. But again, any of these could be found at a Jamaican resort that is actually managed well. Vacations should not be stressful and this place made it very stressful. We were so disappointed.

Very nice resort and a great place for younger kids. The resort is quite a drive from the airport, but the included transportation was fine and made it not a huge deal. The resort grounds are beautiful and the views of the ocean are amazing. The beach is a great place to relax and have some fun in the water. The water park and pools are a blast and great for all ages. Food was good and we never had any issues with waiting or quality of food. It is hot as most restaurants are outdoors though so it can be a bit uncomfortable eating at times. The sesame Street show and characters were perfect for our little one.

We would highly recommend Beaches Ocho Rios Jamaica. We got married this weekend and the wedding staff was beyond excellent, especially Venice and Kemisha. There are several restaurants in the resort and the food was tasty. The Aqua center staff was the other highlight of our week. The sesame street characters delighted the kids. We will definitely be back.

We went for my daughters wedding. The resort was family friendly. I loved the staff, they were so so accommodating to any of our needs. The staff for the wedding were amazing as well! The wedding was beautiful. I didn't care however that they did karaoke in the bar area and let the kids sing, I think they accommodated too much for kids, remember adults are there too. I wouldn't have minded it so much during the day hours but after 8pm, I did mind! One evening they did a person train to music through the bar area and it was all kids. There was a stage near the bar area which they could have done all these activities. It felt like they accommodated above and beyond to kids and forgot there were also adults on the resort, I guess I will just go to the adult only resorts from now on. I also thought the food hours were very limited. Every resort I've been to, there was always a food option, here not so much. They also advertise that the resort is only 90 minutes from the airport! That's a big lie!!! They need to change it, It is an average of 2.5-3 hours. Both trips took us 2 hours and about 40 minutes. The pool was open all day and late at night, I enjoyed that. The rooms were very nice and the housekeeping staff was wonderful, if I asked, I got! Overall it was a great trip.

Great staff, good food and drinks. An older 70's hotel. Comfy beds, clean rooms. If I could rate just on the staff, I would give the resort a 5 star rating.

At the restaurant called Neptune, to get the food the wait was really long. The elevators on the 5th floor, the screen on the top right did not work. The workers were really nice and the food was delicious. The view was really good. The drive to the hotel was 3 hours. All the water slides were very fun. I would recommend going on the grey one.

  • 4/5 Sissy S. 3 months ago on Google New
Really enjoyed the views. The resort was nice, there us alot of walking and stairs. Not many elevators so be prepared to walk and climb. The resort in built on a hill so different levels to walk. If you can't do stairs be sure to ask for lower floor or room near elevators. The food was great and we really enjoyed our stay. The only downside was stairs, so many stairs. We went snorkeling and Ricardo was one if the staff on the boat. He was our guide while snorkeling as well. He took time to show us some sealife. By far the best snorkeling guide I have ever had. This was included with our stay be sure to make a reservation.

The staff was great, they were very helpful and engaging. The activities were fun and exciting and the food was on point. However, the resort itself is in need of restoration and some renovations as well. We are travelers and this resort hands down needs some TLC (tender love and care). I do not mean to nit pick, but again, I have expectations of an all-inclusive resort given the fact we travel regularly. There were a few lights throughout resort that flickered, tile in elevator and throughout resort areas that were cracked and coming up, wooden pillars along boardwalk area of beach rotted, missing shingles alongside the roof of buffet area, paint chipped off the step areas from the rooms of the resort and broken pirate statues alongside the pool areas. The resort did do a great job providing kid/toddler activities, which we were very excited to participate in. The company just needs to restore numerous areas around the resort. Dining was limited, with only 1 or 2 restaurants available each night. The service was slow for the restaurants. The Italian dinner location exceeded 2 hours with a 1 year old that is a problem. We also had to wait for high chair availability at numerous eating locations across resort. Jamaica was nice but unfortunately we will not be visiting this location again.

Just got back from visiting the resort. The staff was amazing and helpful. Water park was a lot of entertainment for the kids. The resort itself was clean and generally okay but in need of some TLC. Food had a lot of options. Personally the buffet was as good if not better than the restaurants. Although my kids loved the crepes place. Plenty of bar options all over the resort so you never go far without one. Biggest down fall is the drive to the resort is about two hours. This is after waiting in line at customs for a few hours as well. I would suggest the use of the Mobay service. It seems like a lot but totally worth fast tracking through the airport.

5 Star Staff!!! My family and I stayed at Beaches Ocho Rios the end of September 2022. Upon arrival we were greeted with cold hand towels to sanitize and bright smiles. There isn't a way to have a bad day at this resort. Everyone is so kind and fun! They serve with smiles and willingly. So many to mention!

We had an amazing time. It was absolutely gorgeous. The service was great. Bryan and Roberto went out of their way to make sure we had an amazing time. This is the first all inclusive resort I've been to and this is the best way to travel. The only problem I had was with the food. I was expecting crab legs and fresh seafood and I was a bit disappointed in the foods they prepared. Besides that we had a great time and would refer everyone to enjoy Beaches.

Be prepared for 2 hours from airport. It was a wonderful stay, but if you want luxury try somewhere else. They were making improvements and updating while we were there but it is an older resort. Landscaping was beautiful. This is a kid friendly resort and they are everywhere, which is fine ad long as you know it. For couples, I would go elsewhere. They did a great job with my daughter’s beach vow renewal and reception! My grandsons loved the kids camp & water park. Their extra $ character tuck in got messed up, but they made up for it the next night by sending every character! The nightly entertainment was very good. With the water sports being included we felt we could do them all. I had an individual catamaran lesson that lasted until the guide & I felt comfortable I would be safe. Snorkeling, banana, & glass bottom boats are a must. Booking excursions, with pick up, at the resort was nice for having questions answered. Local vendors were on site, but not pushy. As much as I enjoyed our stay, if I go back to Jamaica, I will find something closer to the airport.

We had a group of 7 which included 4 children under the age of 12. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. We asked a local driver to take us out for the day. His name was Owen and we had the best day with him. He took us to many places and was excellent at explaining the scenery and history. Snorkeling was our favorite excursion!! We went out at least 7 times. Everyone from our driver, Sherriff, to our guides, Dewayne and Ricardo made sure we had an amazing time! Hands down it was the best part of our trip! They went above and beyond for us and it will be a trip we will never forget!

Awesome spot with kiddos. Kids camp is cool, tennis courts well-maintained (Ester is an awesome coach!). Entertainment is geared towards kids, for sure, but is age appropriate. Some of the adult entertainment is fun too (Darrel is an awesome guide and one of our favorite entertainment team members). People to prepare to tip: luggage transfer to the shuttle, shuttle drivers, housekeeping when all (2) of the laundry machines break. You’ll be happy to not have to do laundry in the two washing machines shared across the whole resort. Water sports are fun, beach is clean, water park is great for all ages (our adult inner child had fun too).

This was our first all-inclusive resort stay. Jamaica is a beautiful country can't wait to come back and explore. Beaches was a solid experience, good food plenty of drinks but the staff were the real standouts.

  • 3/5 K N. 2 years ago on Google
The staff was awesome!!!! There were a few minor things that could use some improvement. Our shower head only had water coming from a few of the holes so the shower wasn’t the best after being on the beach/in the sun. The food was good but not what I expected I thought they would have offered more Jamaican dishes. Last but not least the furniture is a little dated (old). Doesn’t look like the photo of the room on their website.

Had my wedding at Beaches and while it has it's issues 1). Miscommunication with customers 2). Rooms are small and outdated for the price, the food was great and the labor and food workers will go out of their way to accommodate you.

You HAVE to try the Red Lane Spa!!! The ladies providing the services are the best I’ve encountered at both golf & hotel resorts. Michaela gave me a FABULOUS Himalayan Salt Hot Stone message and Melissa gave my boyfriend a Deep Tissue message which he said was relaxing as well as therapeutic. Nothing but 5 stars, thank you ladies!

This was my 5th trip to Jamaica and all other stays have been at a Sandals resort. This Beaches resort wasn’t even close to comparable to my other stays. I was highly disappointed. Hospitality was very low!!! The beauty of the island and the kindness of the people are what make me want to return every chance I can get, until now. Every restaurant had issues with poor service. Our orders would get lost, both meal and drinks. Expect to be thirsty at restaurants, refills were few and far between. Once meal has been served, don’t expect any assistance at the BBQ place. Half of the staff seemed miserable and was unwilling to help. Don’t expect to sleep in, the carts started rolling early and made lots of noise outside our door. We were woken up by staff at 5:30AM because they had mixed up our departure time, it was supposed to be 8:30AM. It was one issue after another the entire time. Prior to this vacation, Jamaica was my favorite place to vacation but trip may be my last.

Overall this was an amazing trip & the people were very kind! I am rating 3 stars due to the lack of restaurant selections. They say there are 7 restaurants onsite however there are actually 3 (Italian, French, & Seafood) and when you are on the resort for 7 days you can only eat those 3 restaurants for dinner so many times. The seafood restaurant, Neptune's had no lobster tails and the scallops were the size of a toothpaste cap. I would have appreciated eating a variety of food. Also, there was a hole in my bathtub :-( The staff was friendly, professional and kind and the resort was very clean and aware of covid and operated as best they could considering the circumstances.

For a sesame street resort and more importantly a kids resort there was little or no interaction with the sesame street characters. The main buffet was not open for dinner and the buffet breakfast and lunch option were very limited. I was also celebrating my anniversary, which the resort was aware of, we were promised champagne and treats in our room of but nothing was offered to us. The front desk staffs response was that I should have reminded them of my own anniversary. They were also clueless on how to check in guess as they debated among themselves in front of me for over 10 mins whether my 5 year old daughter needed a covid test upon arrival. Which I was advise twice by reservations only 12 years and upwards. On the upside the dinning,pool/beach, and house keeping staff were awesome. I remember vividly visiting this resort as a teen and how awesome and magical it was. I wanted that experience for my family as well but unfortunately I was left disappointed. If you only knew..... @adamstewart

I can not say enough great things about this place! First and foremost, it’s 100% the staff that make it so enjoyable. They are so friendly and especially make the kids feel so welcome. They work so hard and do it with a smile on their face and warmness in their hearts. Some of our favorites were Olecia (server), Shanile (server), Sheldon (server), Irene (housekeeping) and Natalia (water sports). The resort was very clean, the food was phenomenal and it wasn’t over crowded. We went in November. I highly recommend this resort for a family vacation.

TrudyAnn was the greatest employee. I will say if it was not for the employees I would have had to give the resort maybe 2 stars. Our room was not like the pictures. The food was good but not Jamaica good. The entertainment was great because of the employees. My Grandchildren really enjoyed the daycare🤩. The staff was beyond wonderful we will return with our children.

poor communication. Claiming money for using premium internet when we did not. Poor customer service and favoritism. I have tried to get my refund and even have a signed note but to no avail. Beautiful country and facility. Not sure if the covid surge contributed. Will not return. I'm guessing thats why till now I have not been asked via email to give a review like other reaorts do. Was there in late Dec 21

Like the Maren Morris song says, “When the bones are good, the rest don’t matter” – this could somewhat apply to the Beaches Ocho Rios resort, the beach (although small), sun, surf, pools, free flowing cocktails – who needs more?? BUT…when you pay $$$$ the rest DOES matter! The entire resort needs a major facelift; repairs, remodel, replace, paint etc… (rumor is it’s coming off a lease and may or may not continue as a Beaches resort – seems likely as nothing has been fixed or updated in what appears to be years). The food is ok, average at best, service is inconsistent and clearly fractured by Covid. Many of the servers want to leave for the US, Canada, or UK – a handful of servers were lovely and make you feel welcome, but most acted bothered by our requests and presence. They all need MAJOR training in customer service. Each group: food & beverage, concierge, housekeeping, spa etc… are too siloed – no one can answer a question or help – if often feels like requests fall on deaf ears. If you are a traveler that appreciates excellence on vacation – Beaches Ocho Rios is NOT the place for you. If you’re in the “when the bones are good, the rest don’t matter” camp – then go for it – just know if you test positive for Covid on the required return departure test – you’ll get an extra 10 day stay isolated to your room (unless you’re one of the lucky ones and can produce a negative PCR test on day 6) Happy travels – my recommendation – stay in the great USofA! (fyi - we just returned home Jan. 4 2022 - had originally booked trip pre-covid in 2019 for spring break 2020 - obviously had to move several times)

We stayed at Ochos Rios And I will not support Beaches/Sandals again. There are several reasons for my decision to not support this business. 1. The concept of no tips seems like a great idea; however, the service reflected that the wait staff was not earning tips. The service was slow and oftentimes we had to wait more than 20 to 30 minutes just to sit at a table and have someone take our order. We would watch our food sit on the counter and not be delivered to our table for more than 15 to 20 minutes. The cappuccino machines were broken at every restaurant, every time we asked. The wait staff seemed aloof and not happy to be working. 2. After I learned that the weekly average pay is $45 American and most of the staff worked 60 hour workweeks, I understood why there was negativity towards the guests. I would rather pay less money and bring tips so that my money goes directly towards the people who are serving me and not towards the business CEO's. This is nothing short of indentured servitude and ethically I cannot support this business ever again. 3. The scuba diving equipment was unsafe. We went out many days and we had broken BCs, air tanks, and masks. The website touts an amazing product; however, the reality was the equipment was breaking down and and unsafe for divers. 4. As others have mentioned, there was no communication about the covid testing. We were told there would be an envelope in our room the day before testing; however, we never received such envelope. We had a group of 10 people in 2 connecting rooms and they scheduled our testing at 2 completely different times. 5. The neighbors on the beach were burning their trash so there was a constant plastic burning smell falling all over the beach on the resort. You could not breathe without smelling burning trash. Additionally the coral reefs were not healthy. The turtles had Lymph node issues from the pollution. During our dives we saw dying coral, plastic bottles floating on the water, beer cans at the bottom of the ocean, and many fish traps. In fact, none of the fish we saw were over 4" which indicated an overfishing of the reef next to the resort. We did meet several amazing staff members who went above and beyond including the allergen restaurant specialist. We also learned, during our stay, that he had been transferred to the Turks and Caicos location and would no longer be servicing the Ochos Rios location. Overall, ethically, I cannot support this company. Staffing practices are just short of indentured servitude, equipment was unsafe for diving and the air and water pollution contaminate both wildlife and guests. I will spend my future vacation budget on locations that allow tipping so I can get great service. I will also go to places where reefs are protected and not dying.

Hands down best vacation experience ever! Everyone went out of their way to be nice, employees & guests alike. Perfect weather, great room, and great food available 24/7. What more could you ask for. Looking forward to our next trip to Beaches.

This was my first time staying at a Beaches resort. Food was excellent and so was the customer service. If you didn't make it to one of the 3 restaurants before 6-6:30 there was a significant wait. What I enjoyed most was the scuba diving. My daughter got her PADI certification here. The divemasters were great especially the one nicknamed Mouse. He was very patient and made my daughter very comfortable in the water.

Overall we had a great week here and would recommend for families with young children. There is entertainment all day long and the night shows were awesome. My kids loved the beach party and parade. My kids loved the waterpark and pools and the beach is also wonderful. We had some great dinners and service was good. The buildings and rooms are old and therefore not the best. Just know that before going that this place is old and they are building a new Beaches nearby. But the entertainment team, drinks and food more than make up for it.

Facilities are worn and neglected. Property is very small along with the beachfront. Had to lean on front door to open because it rubbed the floor. Shower head was completely missing when we arrived which they replaced that day but it never worked properly the entire week. Restaurants are limited but again it’s a small resort. Food was okay but nothing to write home about. The one thing it has going for it is the staff. Extremely nice people who are willing to help at any time.

Pros: - The restaurant/pool side staff! The staff was amazing! So nice and helpful and always so friendly. - COVID precautions. They take the cleanliness of individuals very seriously... from sanitizing stations everywhere, to not even serving yourself at ANY restaurant to eliminate germ exposure - Rooms were cleaned twice a day - The kids side for pools and water park was absolutely amazing, perfect for small babies, toddlers or teenagers. they even had an entire pool dedicated to small babies and toddlers, with their own little lounge chairs! - Veryyyy kid friendly!! The Sesame Street crew every day was too cute! - The alcoholic drinks were VERY GOOD and strong :) Cons: - The beds are HARDDDDDDD AS A ROCK!!! I heard other couples talking about how theirs were very hard as well. - Food was bland and not great anywhere. The resort lists multiple restaurants to choose from to eat at, but they're not all open every day. On different days, certain restaurants close, forcing you to eat at ones you may not want to or even like, otherwise, you can't eat. - The drive to the resort is 2+ hours, depending on traffic, I know they can't control that... but its a lonnnnnng drive and boring. - No room service in any way, except cleaning. - Rooms are deemed "Oceanview" as soon as you can see the tiniest blip of ocean, so if you think you are paying for full on open your window and see OCEAN, think again.. you may only see a tiny tiny view from behind a tree or building, and be charged insanely. - I do not suggest booking online with a resort representative. They tell you to "go ahead and book it and change anything you don't want, by calling the resort and they'll take care of it".. they definitely do not take care of it. I suggest calling and verifying EVERYTHING you pay for, although... descriptions of what you pay for should be enough right? Wrong, clarify EVERYTHING to the tiniest detail (all excursions, add ons, EVERYTHING get clarity on). - The beach is very bleh. Not much to look at, very tiny area even available for you to be at, lots of moss all over the beach and not very pretty at all - Overall price for the experience.. depending on the type of family you are, you may like it.. but Sandals and Beaches used to be known as "top notch" places and although the stay overall was decent... I wouldn't go back

The front desk staff could use some work. They weren’t very hospitable. They barely spoke to us at check in. When someone finally addressed us it was to say our room wasn’t ready. The food was okay- could use some more seasoning. The room and house keeping staff was excellent. There wasn’t much evening activity. Most resorts have shows every night. We really enjoyed the BBQ shack. The daily breakfast was excellent as well. Wish the lunch buffet always offered a Jamaican dish. After all we’re in Jamaica for a Jamaican experience. The layout of the resort was weird with restaurants scattered everywhere. We loved the water park and pool. The drinks overall were pretty good although, some of the staff could use some more training on how to make drinks. The beach area was very small. You felt like you were on top of everyone. I probably wouldn’t go back but the bride and groom had a great time and that’s what counts.

Our first time at a Beaches Resort (1/30/22 - 2/4/22) and it was very enjoyable. All the staff was very friendly and greeted you all the time. Lots of food choices, but the kids loved the crepes and smoothies the most. They make their mixed drinks strong which was different from other resorts and I appreciated it. A bar was never hard to find which I liked. None of my family was offered to buy weed from one of the staff so as a parent I was relieved to know it didn't happen (it's happened to me at other resorts). While we were there they did not have room service available (possibly COVID related) which was kind of a bummer, but probably temporary. If it's important to you call and ask. The only downside to this resort is they really over charge on the excursions. We made outside arrangements to save money. If you don't want to go through the hassle they'll set it up for you. If you are a cheapskate like me you can do things cheaper if you do the leg work. Kids had a great time and that's all that's important and we all want to go back!
