Beautiful scenery, and a hugely enjoyable experience of climbing up the river. Some of the walk was challenging but work together and you can complete it. The guides are extremely helpful and very good and knowledgeable. As they always offer to take photos of you with the waterfall at every opportunity. However a warning, at the end of the Water fall is market which you have to walk through where they try and sell you things, if you just walk and ignore them you will be fine.

Beautiful scenery! Not a strenuous walk up the falls. Be careful as there are a couple of spots that are slippery but overall safe. Get there early and avoid the crowds. Also enjoyed going without a guide and having to walk with crowds of ~15.

Hiking up the falls is a great experience. Being in nature at Dunn's river is a fully immersive experience. Soaking up natural surroundings is always good for the soul. Our guide was great, with no incidents, just laughter and great memories!

We had a wonderful time at Dunn’s River. It is my second time coming here. Climbing the rocks are a bit intimidating but having a guide is super helpful but if not, just being mindful of where to place your steps is the key to having an amazing and safe climb. The grounds are also beautiful. Nature at its finest. You can considering taking your own food since everything there will be overpriced.

It was lovely! My team and I went out for a trip to Dunn's River and had so much fun! We climbed the falls, enjoyed the garden area, and loved the beach! We had to try to find a spot to be seated and rest our things though, and eventually we did! There was also the option of zip lining along with beautiful craft pieces and items that could be bought! Dunn's River is beaaauuutiful!

Dunn's is a great place to take the family for a day at the falls. Make sure to wear some flexible bottom water shoes, the climb is steep but so fun!! I love that there is a ramp along the entire falls for those who can't climb to watch and take pictures. There is a beach at the bottom. They also have good and souvenirs. If your on a budget, and in great health, go down the road to Little Dunn's. It is steeper, but so beautiful! Just to the locals. They volunteer and hand scrub the rock moss for free. Have fun!!

This is an absolutely amazing place. I would highly recommend doing this hike to anyone who’s visiting Jamaica. My partner and I are frequent hiker. Therefore it wasn’t very difficult for us to do this hike. But for not so physically active people it could present some challenges. I’d rate it as difficultly level-5 for this hike which is moderately challenging. I’d recommend hiring a guide to do this hike instead of venturing out alone. The guides are very good here. They know what they are doing. They usually have you and your party to make a human chain to go up on the sides. They have been in this path a thousand times so they can probably guide you blind folded! I’m amazed by how nicely they maintain the area and the fall itself. Big shout out to the park and Jamaica!

Listen here.....if you need a hideaway spot this is the place to go. I travelled from Kingston just to relax in the river and climb the falls. The experience was awesome and I will return again.

Do yourself a favor, visit here. Don't be afraid to stick your feet in the water it's really cool and refreshing. This is one of Jamaica's blessings. Do make sure you bring water shoes, Seriously. I brought 5 Finger Shoes and they worked nicely. The Water proof phone case with the neck strap was $12. Bring yours or buy one. You'll want to take pictures. A small locker was $8 I spent $5 on Jamaican snack food at the Snack Shack. 😋 It's gorgeous. Breathtaking. There are all sorts of wild cocks and chickens roaming the grounds and don't be surprised by the huge spiders in the trees on the banks. Oh and there's also a craft market so you might want to bring $ to spend there.

My kid and I really enjoyed it here. There were a lot of noticeable changes since I was little child. But, I loved the amusement of the lush rainforest scenery and tropical flowers-along with the experience of the waterfalls and beach. The food and drinks were another amazing thing to consider while dining there at this particular restaurant. I had the extremely tasty Brown Stewed Fish and Authentic Jamaican Rum Punch. And, I also got to venture along and do some souvenir shopping. Now, I will forever be grateful for another trip which I haven't done in years at this location.

The Dunn's Falls were no joke! They are gorgeous and a little scary. Haha! The team link system they have is a great method to get everyone up the Falls safely. You can also make friends quickly when you're saving each other from falling. We got beautiful pictures, created amazing memories, and met some awesome people! Its definitely worth doing!

Great place to go when you have about two hours to spare. You can get a taxi from Ocho Rio for around $15/RT and entrance is $25/person. Bring water shoes or purchase some there. The ones there are Jamaican colors and actually cool looking. They have locker rentals for $10 and are big enough for a family of four. Changing places there as well. Takes about 45 minutes to an hour to walk up the falls. To be honest, I was surprised how very easy it was and the scrub the stone so it is not slippery. Well worth the time to go and spend with the family.

Great views and lovely experience, although I didn't make it to the top of the falls nerves got the better of me 🙈it was lovely being in the water. My family reached the top and were ecstatic I safely looked on and took photos. Don't attempt if your not confident although the tour guides were great and very helpful to assist large groups who wished to climb to the top. Useful to have waterproof swim socks/shoes for the climb! 😎🇯🇲☀️

I can see why this is very popular. Beautiful and unique. We came by boat, climbed up and then walked back down. Tours were well organized and we enjoyed the climb up. Not appropriate for children. Also, be prepared for artisans along the way back down the steps. We did not have money (you get soaking wet, if you are not aware!). They will follow you to the boat, though.

It's the first time in over 10 years that I visited. What a fantastic experience. It was busy when my family and I arrived however the wait was worth it. If you are Jamaican, please bring your ID or it will cost much more. We were allowed to take our igloos, food, juices, water etc. The grounds were well kept and the water was glorious. The staff members were courteous and I had a fantastic day.

This was one of the best experiences of my life! We climbed from the ocean to the top-960 feet. We even did the second half twice! There were a ton of people there, but never seemed crowded. Friendly people, offering to help or take our photo so we could both be in it. In fact, my husband got ahead of me, as I was lolly-gagging, and a sweet women and her daughter from China adopted me until I caught up with him. We booked a afternoon excursion, but only had a couple hours at the park. I would recommend spending the entire day there, climb the falls, enjoy the park amenities, go through the vendor stands, and do the falls again. I would also suggest using one of the guides. They will take photos, give you tips, and show you the easiest way up. The climb looked intimidating, but at 58 & 64 we took it slow and easy, enjoying each new spot and had no trouble! It was a blast and I can’t wait until my grandsons are old enough to go.

Definitely worth stopping by took about hour to complete the fall. The guides are very professional and have been doing this for a while be sure to listen. So when they say watch your step. The water is very refreshing and will definitely keep you awake. If you decide to purchase the video they offer be prepared to be reminded of an old late 90’s-80’s movie. Had a fun time!

Talked my wife into climbing the waterfall as part of our shore excursion during a cruise back in February. What a great decision. So glad she agreed. We had a ton of fun. The climbing guides were very helpful and funny. We felt safe the whole time and the climb wasn’t too difficult at all. It was definitely an exciting, original experience. They took a lot of video too. The quality isn’t the greatest though and it was a bit expensive. The video was crunched up, but I ran it through an app to stretch it out and correct the proportions. I also edited out the portions that didn’t include us and ended up with a pretty great video. The only knock is the “vendors” on the way out were very aggressive. They teamed up on me and blocked my way, almost causing me to miss my bus back to the ship. They even lied saying they work with the buses and asked them to wait, which the bus driver told me was untrue. I would have taken away another star for that, but we had such a great time on the waterfall. I would highly recommend this experience, just remember to bring good water shows with a nice grip.

Dunn's river is a world class attraction. You are just left in awe of it's beauty and tranquility. This place is so beautiful and natural. Nature at its finest. Do not visit Jamaica without going to Dunn's river falls. You will not regret it. The water from the falls is cold and the beach is warm. Perfect balance. This is a must go even for locals.

The famous Dunn's River Falls. If you are planning to visit Jamaica, this is a must do. Maybe the first thing you'll love to go and see. This exquisite beauty of nature will surely make you want to stay here forever. This was my second visit, and it was a wonderful experience. I was proud of myself for finishing the adventure up to the top. It was hard but it was fun.

Nice place to venture with kids. Peaceful and relaxing... We were on vacation. Our guide, Orlando was very welcoming, friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and entertaining. He showed us around, helped us climb the falls, took our pictures... We really enjoyed the place. We will certainly come back soon.

What a fantastic place to spend the day. Bring your swim wear and prepare for lots of pics. Water shoes and water protector for your phone are recommended. You can traverse the falls on your own or secure a guide to keep you a foot of the falls. There are lockers and multiple restrooms on site. Don't miss the beach. You have to follow the water under the road. Allow lots of time and bring money for shopping.

Enjoyed the walk down to the beach. The falls is powerful and beautiful. The beach was relaxing. The walk up was a bit breath taking in more ways than one. Lots to see and enjoy if you love nature. If you have the endurance for it the falls is a nice little challenge. I would enjoy the beach first though because walking down, then climbing up then walking back down to walk but up wouldn't be as much fun...

Falls is an absolute charming place to experience natural beauty. The place is really nicely maintained and they have tried to clean rocks to avoid algae. 1. Get comfortable water shoes 2. Arrive before the park opens and be first to avoid huge crowds which come from cruise docking. 3. Avoid walking on black algae and walk on green instead. Black is extremely slippery and green is safe ( yeah reversed, dunno why ) 4. Get just one bag together as a group so you save on locker money. 5. After you give back the key you also get some refund amount. 6. Please carry bottled water. 7. Kids of age 6 below need to be picked up so be ready for it, as hike is through the falls and water is deep in certain places.

This was my first trip to Jamaica and the Dunn’s River is a must do. I will definitely go back after this Covid-19 dies downs to get the full experience but overall it was a great time. I didn’t like that there was any type of social distance measures in place but I did my part noting that they ask you to take your mask off during the falls.

Climbing waterfall was fun. I would give 5 stars for that and highly recommend. What was really bad is a quality of video that they sold for 40$. It had really low interlaced dvd quality 480i. It would be acceptable 20 years ago, but not now, not for 40$. I attached frame example :-( Vendors on the exit are extremely aggressive. Thanks god, our tour guide warned us about it on the way in. Update: I complained about quality of the video over email and was given a full refund to PayPal account. This behavior deserves respect. I'm bumping up my rating from 3 to 4.

I decided to do the falls without a guide. I loved it. Just take your time and enjoy the outdoors. I would recommend water shoes. If you go down to the beach the water temperature changes frequently from cold and warm.

This now our family day trip spot. We've been there 2 yrs in a row and we love it. It's a very relaxing place, and still a gem. Not k ow to tourist yet, but the will change very fast because this place is great. The water is clean and cold. It's very easy to climb, and you'll be done on minutes. But the best part is jump off the cliff. It's very high and the water is very deep, but if you have the nerve. Just jump.

Take the cool runnings tour. It's an all day long tour by am star.. a little side note.. your climbing up the water fall literally. You will need water shoes or they sell them for 13$. Super fun time snorkeling and a party with rum punch on the cameraman boat. Tons of fun. Must go!

You will need water shoes. We bought them at the resort and they were the same price as what they were at the falls. If you want to bring your phone and take pictures they sell waterproof cases at the falls for $10. At the resort they were $40. There will be no social distancing here. They tell everyone to takeoff their mask and hold hands. Your guide will tell you that he is going to take pictures throughout the climb and if you would like to buy them you pay him $40 and he will send them to your email. Do not do this! This is a scam and you will never receive pictures. When you are leaving the falls, you have no choice but go through an area where people are trying to sell you their handmade items. Do not let them put anything on you or put anything in your hand or your child’s hand because then you will be buying it. We would’ve loved to look at items and probably would’ve bought some thing if they were not in our face is the whole time.

This visit surpassed what i had anticipated. It was awesome! The climb up the falls was went well and the tour guides ensured that all visitors local or international were safe as we climbed each section of the falls. A good family or group trip location. There is an option to buy food or drinks... but you can take your coolers and food for large groups. Also the climb was made easier by the proper shoes that was on sale on location. It was a good experience and i definitely plan to visit again!

The drive to Dunn's River was peacefully and awe inspiring. Dunn's River was a fun place to be and a great way to meet locals and tourists. The experience of climbing the waterfall from the beach below and immersing yourself in the nature is awesome. The water is cold and greenish (because of the green rocks), but it's an awesome and fun experience. 10/10 I will go there again.

Finally visited this iconic Jamaican site and it didn't disappoint. What a beautiful place and you are given the choice to explore without climbing the falls or to climb with a guide and photographer. Although initially apprehensive, I decided to climb with my husband and was assisted by our guide Adrian who was so helpful and encouraging. I unfortunately twisted my knee about 3/4 way up and was assisted to the nearest exiting platform and taken to the nurses station. Tracey and Sonia were both very caring and efficient and gave me first aid and I felt I was in great hands. My knee injury was unfortunate but I have to give credit to the staff who were all very kind, helpful and attentive. My recommendation if you visit the falls is risk assess yourself, if you are confident you can climb then do it as it is a beautiful experience. But it's equally as lovely, to explore the beach and view the falls from the bottom. Thank you to the staff at Dunns River for a wonderful experience. I'm proud I climbed up to the point I did😊

There was hardly anyone here. We walked right in paid and walked to the falls. They split our group up into 2 groups. Each group has a guide that shows you how to get up the falls. We had an older group and we all made it up just fine. I believe the oldest was late 60 s. Once you are done you have to go through a local shopping center. These people are very aggressive. So walk fast if you don't need to buy anything. If you need something haggle with them

The team at Dunn's River Falls has ensured that the facilities are modernized. They have more to offer than just the falls, with areas cordoned off and designed to give a garden effect, very tranquil amidst the bustle and beautiful. They have made space for our local craft vendors to formally ply their wares, which is so refreshing. I enjoyed the use of personalized lifeguards, several well placed gift shops, and proper lockers. The prices are reasonable if you were prepared. It would have been better though if all the shops used card machines as people don't walk with so much cash these days. I enjoyed the knowledgeable tour up the falls with our guide Courtney. Had a great experience

Fantastic adventure, nice informative river Cruise. Ronald the captain was fantastic , kept us entertained the whole time. There is nice vegetation, crocodiles, birds and rare plants to see. At the end of the boat ride along Black River one is able to visit the nurseries and see the younger crocodiles, some of which lives in Harmony with the turtles.

Had a great day here. The beach is really nice but do the walk up the falls before going in to the sea, as the sea was 29c and the falls are much colder. You can literally walk up the falls from the beach to the top, which can take over an hour. Some of the views are great. It is quite slippy so no shoes or ones with a good grip are needed. Its great fun to go right up the falls. I would also suggest getting there when it opens and before the big tour busses arrive, as then you have lots of people on the falls. Once you are done with the falls there are lots of lovely shops on the way out, but watch for husslers. This is quite a unique experience and well worth doing.

Dunn's River is one of Jamaica's Gem and with the new renovations. Actually board walks on the beach (slippery when wet). Dunn's River has really turned into the place for all ages and let's not forget about the falls. A site to see and an adventure to climb. Let it not be said that you came to jamaica, that you went to Dunns river and you did not climb the falls. All get yourself a waterproof camera or a waterproof phone case as you don't want to miss out on the pics to be taken on your climb.

Literally the best attraction I’ve done so far in all the traveling I’ve done! Nothing like connecting with nature by climbing up the river waterfall and with random rain falling on us while climbing and having fun such as sliding down the natural water slide mid climb upwards, the nice little pools, natural massages and cool glass face water hideaway spot where you squat, and lean backwards and your face looks super cool when looking at it. I had the best guide and actually the longest working guide he’s been there since the 70s !! Nuts! He literally was a pro! His name was C. Oliver I recommend him 1000000% he was super kind, patient etc. I cannot wait to come back and do it again!

As a local I completely enjoyed my time at dunns river falls. The staff were welcoming and kind and the food was amazing. I loved that they offered Jamaican snacks like bun and cheese and a few others. They have a kids village which was amazing for my little brother and sister. The beach was great, my bro and sis had the time of their lives building sand castles. Another takeaway from this trip was the beautiful scenery. I could sit and watch the falls all day. Overall it was great. Next time I will be one the ship for a ride and maybe the zip line.

The Falls were beautiful! The tour guide was great. We were on a cruise ship🛳 excursion and this was one of the most memorable events of our vacation. I was not a fan of the human chain climbing up. Our group didn’t really use that technique and it worked out just fine. The only negative thing I can say is that they walk you through a bunch of shops after the falls and the vendors seriously haggle you! 💵Take small bills!!!!! One vendor tried to give my fiancé a small wooden statue. For “free” but he wanted a tip. 🤑 we declined numerous times. Then he followed us through the market and asked my Fiancé’s name and started carving his name into the item and then insisted for a $20 tip. It’s hard not to be rude to someone so pushy. When we got back on the bus 🚌 all 5 couples in our group were hustled by that guy and none of us had cash smaller than a $20 bill so that guy made a fortune on being rude and pushy. I understand they have to make a living, but the market place made me very uncomfortable!!

The falls are amazing! You make your way up! I would highly recommend doing it without an excursion group as you might loose a lot of time waiting for others (to change/get ready, then wait in line for locker availability (even if you don’t need one, with a group you will have to wait as they provide 1 guide for the whole group which is very aggravating; they might also sanitize your hands 2-3 times AND you will sign several papers on several different occasions/ VERY ANNOYING). We have spent less than one hour going up the falls (CROWDED), we have spent over 3 hours there (waiting on people before and after) And the staff will sell you pictures for $40.

What a beautiful place to visit. We did the wet guided tour. Was a great adventure! Our tour guide, noel, made the experience a lot of fun and safe! He took pictures of everyone in specific waterfall areas. The falls are a natural beauty. The water was clean and refreshing. This is an absolute must in jamaica!

Beautiful. You can experience the falls and even go down to a beautiful beach to spend half or even the whole day at. It's worth the drive and you will be able to have so much fun with the family there. They close at 4pm, as many parks and beaches do so just mind the time and try to get there early enough to enjoy it all.

Amazing! We went right when it opened and we’re able to climb the falls almost alone. I can’t imagine if it were busy, as it could have bummed the experience to wait behind line of people on tours. No guide needed. Should be fit and have reasonable balance to climb the falls. We didn’t have water shoes, but we were just fine. I guess it could have Ben nicer with shoes.

Amazing and beautiful falls. Not for the faint hearted or less able. Guides are amazingly agile and ensure every member of your group is OK. Ours also took our photos at every opportunity so we didn't have to pay the 'official' photographer. Tye hard sell for merchandise when you're leaving the falls is a little aggressive, but the people need to earn a living.

This place is so beautiful 😍 🤩 and welcoming for all young old and the restless. Full of excitement, great tourism initiatives, fun on the beach, at the water park, it's a bit slippery made need regularly routine cleaning to avoid children falling and hurting themselves. Lot's of vendors to get local stuff, warm welcoming Caribbean brothers and sisters, will definitely want to visit again, beautiful 😍 Jamaica 🇯🇲 big up allyuh self.

Our experience was great. We chose to get to Dunns River EARLY. I think they opened at 8:30 and we got there around 8:45. We walked all the way down to the beach and started climbing up from there. It was beautiful and fun! We had the waterfall to ourselves! After the climb up we walked back to the beach and enjoyed the water a little. We did not use a guide but if you want pictures of your self on the way up might be helpful. We did notice with guided tours they started about 1/4 way up and skipped some parts. I will add photos of what we saw at 9am vs 10:30. Also when you exit be ready for a ton of souvenir shops. Everyone was nice but somewhat pushy trying to hand us things. If you are climbing the falls bring water shoes and a waterproof bag for your phone. We did not do zip lines so can't speak to those.

No words to explain the beauty of this cascade falls. The falls park was completely organized and the guides are extremely skilled at their job. They guide you through each and every step of the fall hike to the top. It was a beautiful scenery to behold. Entry fee: $25 USD. Clean washrooms and change rooms.

A beautiful place to visit with exotic plants and waterfalls but be prepared to walk up a pretty steep incline as you approach the Falls. We were on a cruise and decided to come and visit and we thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent here but it get also get very busy with tourists, something you have to put up with I'm afraid.

A lot of upgrades were made to the park over the years. It’s very affordable. It is always better to use a local ID or else u will be paying a higher price to get in. Still sea urchins in the beach area, for spiked once. Love climbing the falls, a lot of great photo opportunities. Some rocks are very slippery so be careful. Overall it was an amazing experience and a full body workout. Great with friends and family.

Worth the wild. Very thrilling. Recommend to take water shoes and bathing suit. There are lockers you can you rent to leave personal belongings. Good tip: to capture unforgettable experience bring your own waterproof pouch for your mobile device. You can also purchase one on site for ten dollars.

Very pretty, well kept park, with river and falls. Locals cooling off in the water. Very scenic. You can see quite a ways in several different directions. The park and guide handled our cruise ship group well, keeping us informed and pointing out highlights. I didn't think the walk was strenuous, but there were places you need to watch your step. Very nice place.

Beautiful place, many activities and facilities available. There is a small beach area, a tranquility garden, a water park, zip lining, shops and restaurants and also the Dunn's River Falls. I have only rated 4 stars because the water park was under reconstruction during my visit, otherwise from that, it is a fantastic place for a great day out. Perfect for thrill seekers, families and water babies!

Very peaceful. You can sit on the beach and relax. The atmosphere was that of tranquility on a nice breeze filled afternoon. We went on a Wednesday, not sure of the peacefulness and tranquility maybe different on the weekend.

On a tour from a cruise . 10 minutes from the port . The Jamaican tour and her ' all is good Yea man". At the falls you have a wait for your tickets ... Then for your guide . Our guide was PAUL...... EXCELLENT and very helpful. Attentive with the group . The crawling up the falls are great experience.

Great morning or afternoon out. If you want sunshine go in the morning as Ocho Rios tends to cloud over after lunch. It's a wonderful experience climbing from sea level to the top and my 6 year old Grandson managed it with the help of a local guide. Always take $US as it's more straightforward when paying and leaving is through a parade of stalls trying to sell you local wares. Definitely a must for any visit to Jamaica.

Dunn's River is open to the public despite the current pandemic and this is as a result of effective COVID-19 protocols that are in place. Social distancing is practiced in queues and masks are worn at all times, except when on the beach or climbing the falls. You affix your own armbands and there are a number of wash stations for the washing of hands or the use of hand sanitizers. Your temperature is taken upon entry and there are constant reminders over the PA system to observe the protocols in place. You are able to utilize the point of sale system for entry, locker rentals, food, craft market etc so you don't have to use cash. The beach, the falls and the overall experience of Dunn's River continues to be absolutely beautiful and long may it remain so. My children had a blast!

(Translated by Google) This turned out to be the worst tourist trap I have ever fallen into. The main attraction is to climb up the river and its small waterfalls in groups. Rubber shoes are sold and rented out to facilitate the actual climbing. You climb up the river just under 200 meters. It was full of families with children and newly in love couples trying to get up through the rushing water. Incredibly beautiful but crowded with large guided groups. Man klättar uppför floden knappt 200 meter. Det var fullt med barnfamiljer och nyförälskade par som försökte ta sig upp genom det forsande vattnet. Otroligt vackert men trångt med stora guidade grupper.

Nice hike and fun. Be prepared to use muscles you haven'ts worked in years. Although you are with a group (if you pay for a guide) strangers will not help you hike lol. The video that they try to sell you in the end is cute so work it to get you monies worth. Overall it was fun. Beware of the vendors that try to sell you stuff when you are walking out. They will try to scam you or pickpocket you.

  • 3/5 Jaclynn G. 3 years ago on Google
The falls itself is nice. However it is a tourist TRAP! Wish we had went outside of the group booking and be sure to bring a waterproof camera if you wish to take photos. You will get wet walking the falls! They force you to use their lockers to put your stuff away as well. Charge $8 for a small box if i remember correctly. Your tour guides are very pushy at the end wanting money so if you want to tip you need to stash away some cash because you wont be back at your locker yet. Just some things i wish we had known. Have fun!

Fun family trip for a cruise ship excursion. Good adventure for a young, fit couple, young family, kid friendly, not recommended for the older population. Be aware of the many tourist trap sales people (& druggies) who will pray on you as soon as you try to exit the park. They will put toys in your children's hands and demand that you pay them for the items. Ignore them and keep moving, keep your kids close.

Went back in Sept, it was during covid so we had an instructor to ourselves. It's scary but really awesome. The end is the only reason why it has 4 stars. While your walking to your vehicle, you will get ambushed by many people trying to sell you things. It can be overwhelming.

Not worth the pice and trip. SO many tourists... You have to hold hand when climbing the waterfalls (Been there many years ago and it seems to be still like this). It gets kinda annoying. I've seen WAY better Waterfall less crowded around the world....

They don't tell you that you need water shoes before you get there. Once you arrive, they will sell you some for $10 a piece (not bad) but won't allow you in until you purchase them. We didn't bring our wallet (our bad) but had enough cash to buy 3 pairs for our 3 kids. They went ahead and sold them to us knowing that my wife and I did not have any. Once we entered into the park, we were told that the kids could not go without us...but we didn't have water shoes. Complete waste of time and money

The management od Dunn's River Falls & Park despise drivers of class 2 motor vehicles. Class 2 vehicles are Hiace, Noah, Caravan and Urvan etc. Even if the parking lot is empty the drivers of these vehicles are forced to park in the sun for as long as they wait for the patrons they transport to the falls, and there are many shaded areas that are not oçcupied by any other vehicles. There is absolutely no shade in that area reserved for class 2 vehicles and the management refuses to address the problem even though so many drivers suffer.

When we got there it did not disappoint. The falls were really cool and beautiful. The park was packed but not too packed. Everyone was having a great time as well as us. We recommend going to experience this place. We do recommend being careful, and if your not in the best of shape be extra careful. I could see how people could get easily injured here, so take your time. All the staff in the falls were great!

Amazing experience!!! It does cost more as a tourist to go but I can promise you it will be worth every dollar spent. Our tour guide up the waterfall was amazing, not only did he take us at our pace, he had a great time with us laughing and sharing stories up, telling us facts about the falls, and also grabbing a shrimp from under a rock handing it to me to hold....I did freak out, those little things are squirmy hahaha but it made the experience. I would most definitely go again when I visit Jamaica....

It's a nice experience, tour of the falls is free but you can tip the tour guide at the end. They have a beach as well as the waterfalls. Changing rooms and showers are available as well as a mini waterpark for the kids. They have lockers available for a cost as well as benches on the beach to keep your things. They also have a craft village and food court but you can also carry your own food inside as well. It's a nice place overall but bear in mind there's a lot of walking to get to the beach/falls.

Tourist area, but definitely not a "trap". Absolutely beautiful setting. Nice people. Tourists and locals come here. Prices are high on food and merchandise, and hair braiding, so do keep that in mind. But you've got to come here while visiting Jamaica. A true gem.

(Translated by Google) I found the ascent of the falls very fun especially if you do not do it in a group by choosing the path yourself (when possible) and avoiding the inevitable clumsiness that you inevitably have to put up with in a group. Beach shoes are recommended for greater grip on slimy rocks. It is not particularly demanding but this also depends on the water flow and individual capacities. I recommend the visit ... (Original) Ho trovato la risalita delle cascate molto divertente soprattutto se non la si fa in gruppo scegliendo autonomamente il percorso (quando possibile) ed evitando gli immancabili imbranati che in gruppo ti devi inevitabilmente sorbire. An absolute adventure that one should experience. In an atmosphere where professionalism and customer service seems to be lacking the management and staff of Black River Safari is the epitome of both. Always professional, always courteous. There is so much to see, vegetation, crocodiles, birds and rare plants and as such it invites you to go back again and again. It is the perfect get away from the chaos of life and reconnecting with the tranquility of nature.

Also, the world's famous Pelican Bar is about 15 minutes out from the safari tour with load of boats ready to take you over. I had an amazing time I climbed Dunn River on my birthday! I went here from an excursion from Sandles if you go to Jamaica make this one off your stops make sure you have water shoes!

  • 4/5 Dwight B. 2 years ago on Google
We went on a guided hike from where the river meets the ocean, to the elevation of the parking lot and main entrance. The falls are a stretch of cascading water over rock that has a slightly rough surface, so any sandal or water shoe with any tread at all will allow you to climb easily without slipping. There are several places where you can stop a stand or play under the waterfalls. There are places to bum-slide, and to jump in deeper pools. No pools were over our heads. A videographer joined us. Both the guide and the videographer expected tips. They asked $40 for a copy of the video to be downloaded later. We only did this hike, and were there just over an hour. It was fun, cool, and refreshing

25$ pp to climb the fall. This is a fun experience but very pricey. Be careful due to covid, the open hours have changed and it opens at 12:00pm instead of 8:30am. You also can climb the fall without the need of a guide. It is relatively easy and safe to climb it on your own

This is probably my fifth time going to Dunns river falls waterfalls are spectacular it’s one of Jamaica‘s most beautiful attractions it’s and its An amazing experience I will definitely be back there again they should put a hotel there because it’s such a beautiful experience the only problem is they charge you more money as a tourist which I don’t necessarily think it’s fair

A nature lover's paradise with a beach, mini-water park, souvenirs and fall that is beautiful as it is powerful! Visited on a Sunday thinking it would be the better alternative on the weekend....Alas not so. The crowd was heavy and purchase of tickets was a very lengthy process which is the reason for the deduction of 1 star. Be prepared and budget time accordingly. Happy to say I climbed to the top of the fall and without a scratch too!!!😁☺ Definitely recommended and take a picnic bag as groups make it better. Thank me later😉

Nice place to relax and enjoy the cool waters. You have free will to do what you want like to just sit and relax, sit and chill in calmer parts of the water, climb the falls. The place is beautiful. Plenty of trees and flowers, very natural look.

My second time visiting Jamaica and Dunns River Falls, but this time I was not alone. We had too much fun with our family and friends. Don’t forget your water shoes, but if you do you can buy them when you arrive. You will get completely soaked and are able to take your phone in a water proof lanyard pouch. I should have stretched first as I was sore a couple days later… Or I used muscles I definitely hadn’t used in awhile. The guide was funny and not only showed concern for our group, but also helped those around us. We loved it and me having my family and friends with me to experience it was simply amazing.

  • 5/5 John E. 1 year ago on Google
Great experience, tour guides are really pushy for tips especially the younger fall guides, watched our guide even chase a couple back to the car Park and if the tip is less than $10 are extremely rude. Photographers are great and really humble. As you finish the experience you have to leave through a Warren of shops and stalls, again pushy but if you just say no and keep walking on it aint to bad. Don't accept any "free" gift as it not free and a payment will be expected in return 😊 also take water shoes these are a must 👌

This place is amazing, you should definitely visit this place if you visit Jamaica. It's about 1 1/2 hour from Montego Bay. But it is definitely worth it. The view, the water, the freshness of the air, the clarity of the water is amazing. Feels peaceful. But it is a lil crowded.

We had an amazing day at Dunns Falls which was made even better by our guide E Hall who was so cool and helpful guiding us up the falls. Our group had some really cool people in it and there's was a great vibe as we made our way up the falls with our guide taking loads or cracking pics for us, the falls are stunning and the water was so refreshing in all of the little plunge/lagoon bits. Can't recommend this enough and I'd heard it can be busy and a bit annoying but we had a fantastic day and didn't find that at all, a few red stripes after the falls finished a cracking day off! 🍻

  • 5/5 Bobby K. 9 months ago on Google
Very fun experience hiking up the falls. Although I don't know if they are totally required, some type of water shoe is highly recommended so not to slip on the rocks. They do scrub many of the stones to get the algae off, but can still be slippery in spots. Totally recommend if you are in Jamaica.

  • 5/5 Kayda B. 8 months ago on Google
The day was planned for relaxation and that I did. The water from the falls was strong and we stood under it to all the water to beat on our backs. The place was was full but our group found a little space and just enjoyed the water. Too many areas where persons could use for seating were cordoned because repairs were needed for the area. But it was a great day for us as friends.

  • 5/5 dan w. 7 months ago on Google
Very fun. Be sure to dress right, you will be climbing up the falls with everyone and you will get wet and the water is chilly/refreshing depending on your point of view! Definitely worth doing, very pretty and a work out if you're not in decent shape.

  • 5/5 Kim W. 7 months ago on Google
First thing to know the cost for locals and internationals are different. You need to present your ID at the entry. The grounds are beautiful, everything inside include a locker is overpriced (the locker is more expensive than the cost of admission) I showers and the changing areas are clean but always remember flip flops. I have been here multiple times and never climb the fall this time was no different. If you are unable to climb the falls there is a land walkway that you can still appreciate the few.

  • 5/5 Wendy N. 7 months ago on Google
Dunns river is so beautiful! It was a wonderful experience! However you should get there early because the parking lot gets really full. There is also an entrance fee, make sure to wear comfortable shoes as there is a lot of walking if you want to see everything. The place does have a locker rental service for a small fee, you can take your food and drinks(not sure about alcohol) inside the park!

It was a very beautiful place. I was unable to climb the falls. There are spots, If you can't continue, they can let you head back down. I went to the beach which was out of this world. The water magnificent! Also, they have many other activities to do. The falls aren't the only thing to do there. Check it out one day or soon. The beach was my favorite. The people were friendly for the most part. Keep your shopping to the duty-free stores. And say no to pushy vendors. Other than that, it's a must-see.

We highly recommend this as a must do stop if you're in the area! You're guided up The waterfall in the shade with fun yet safe spots along the way like photographs under the waterfall, or falling into mini waterfalls and sliding out and down into the pools below. My wife's phone fell out of her pocket, but the photographer is able to dive down and grab it before it got damaged! I wish I had more cash on me to give him a bigger tip!

Scenic and almost empty in the late afternoon before closing. Climbed from the sea straight to the top without a guide and the human chain. It was cold and refreshing. It’s worth a repeat if nature is your thing. I admire Jamaican tourist board for having proper facilities for changing and toilets. It’s a little dated and shabby but worked well enough for the limited use.

My first time going there and the place is a real wonder. Nice cold water, beautiful beach, and the nature around u is awesome. The only issue was the cashier. She needs more training.

👍👍 Loved our visit, the chair lift to the top had amazing views and it was nice to just slowly move through the forest. There is plenty to do once you get to the main park too. We enjoyed our food from the restaurant which came at a fair price. Again the tables by the windows had amazing views from the...
