It's a very beautiful place, went camping up there. Very picturesque. Mosquitos will take a chunk out of you no matter how cold though. Would definitely visit again. Minor waterfall trail not marked so you may pass it like it did. Literally a less than 2 min walk on the right after the bridge.

The perfect spot to escape the noise and air pollution from the town. It’s so refreshing and calming to your soul. Plus there are okay ground, nature trails and a waterfall to cool down. Cost is $400 for adults and $100 for children. Also, there’s a on the property that open Saturday & Sunday only.

In the very well-maintained Holywell Recreational Park there are several signposted hiking trails that lead, for example, to beautiful views or a waterfall. This was the second time we had rented the largest of the wooden cabins in the park. Cypressus has two bedrooms and a common room with a fireplace and can comfortably accommodate 5 people. It has a kitchen that has become increasingly less equipped over the years. For example, a pasta strainer is missing. The pots are almost too heavy to drain. You can also grill outside by the fire or on the open grill if the weather is right. Bring wood and food with you, and ideally a grill grate for the fire. There is running water and a shower, the water pressure is of course not very high, but sufficient. The entire hut was clean, although a lot of things are already loose or could be replaced, for example the room locks. The area around it is well maintained, as it is a national park. When we were last there, a family of dogs had made themselves comfortable under the house. We particularly enjoyed the peace and fresh air of the Blue Mountains, as well as the great views of Kingston. If it rains, the hiking trails are not accessible. The rangers are very helpful. Tip: Book during the week and well in advance! The weekends are always very popular. This place is recommended for travelers who love nature and are looking for peace and quiet, who want to look after themselves and can manage themselves to some extent.

Mountains aren't usually the first thing to come to mind when most people think of Jamaica. But if your skin needs a break from the scorching sun, this place is an excellent choice!

One of my favorite places in Jamaica. One of the few places that facilitate camping with access to running water, shower and bathroom facilities close to multiple camping grounds. Definitely recommend for a day outside of the city or for a week away on the hills.

Holywell is a great family space with ample gazebo, outdoor grills, camping, and hiking. It has a play area for the kids; you can even sleep over in a cabin. It's a great spot for an afternoon out...especially now that there is a restaurant. The bathroom facilities are well kept and there is running water. I have camped overnight in tents. I have stayed at the cabins and I have visited the park for just the afternoon. This park never gets old!

I'm not big on outdoorsy activities but the Holywell Park was lovely. We rented tents, which were close to a bathroom with running water and toilet. When we went it was raining, so it was a bit slippery in some areas. When the rain and fog cleared we enjoyed some of the most beautiful views of lush vegetation and mountain side. From this vantage point there are views of the Mona Dam, Kingston Harbour and much of Kingston. There were multiple hiking trails for us to explore. The nature and fresh unpolluted air was simply unparalleled.

Breathtakingly beautiful park. Quite affordable for locals as well. If you are in search of peace of mind and fresh air, this is the place for you.

Awesome weekend hangout!! If you are a visitor, hire a car for a day, enjoy the circuitous drive uphill and downhill. Once at Holywell, you will be in surrounded by cloud and mist. Carry an extra pair of clothes even for a day trip. Keep water and food with you or can buy at a new cafe at the premise. Give a good camping opportunity if you are ok spending time with nature. Better to have your own tent as charges are high and availability is doubtful. You can have a barbecue grill and relish stakes while camping.

Absolutely mesmerizing experience at Holywell Jamaica Glamorous National Park! 🌲✨ From the moment we arrived, the natural beauty embraced us. The glamping site is a hidden gem, blending luxury with nature seamlessly. The spacious tent felt like a cozy haven, with all the amenities one could wish for.

Rented a tent and went camping here. The process was so easy, only complaint was sometimes they were hard to get on the phone. But the lady was so pleasant when booking the reservation that it wasn't really an issue. If you want to rent a cabin for the weekend plan FAR in advance. When I asked in February she told me they were booked every weekend until November. When we arrived the tent was already set up we just needed to carry up all our things and with the help of the ranger it went super fast. Sleeping there you feel very safe. Just make sure you put any food you want in your tent or locked up in your car, there are dogs, cats, mongooses, that will steal and eat anything not secured. Had a fantastic time. Will definitely be going back.

Approximately 1hr drive out of the city, this National Park is worth the drive. The road to get here can be challenging as you can imagine, narrow sections and lots of corners..very foggy at some sections especially when it rains, which it does often. The park itself is huge and beautiful. Several trails are on property for your exploration. Camp sites available, Cabins are also available! There is a Café on property which opens on Saturdays and Sundays. If you can't get to hike to the Blue Mountain Peak, a trip to Hollywell can definitely make up for it.

A beautiful and quiet place in the blue mountains not to hard to reach from Kingston. There are mainly two hiking paths, both are not too hard. The waterfall path is a bit longer but not so steep. Don’t expect a huge waterfall buts a very natural and beautiful place with endemic plants growing around. We were the only people there during the week, and had to pay no entry fee since there was nobody there. Also they got a beautiful picnic spot by the ranger station right by the trail head.

Calm, cool, serene natural habitat complete with cabins, open spaces for tent pitching and cooking, nestled in the cool, welcoming, picturesque hills of St. Andrew is the first things which come to mind when thinking of this beautiful getaway. A place where colleagues and I have hosted hikes for numerous years, there are trails aplenty and comfortable driving areas for those who are uninterested in the trek. Although it is a natural and protected reserve, the ruggedness has been erased with the installation of electricity, running water at various stand pipes strategically placed around the site and especially near the spots built for cooking, flushable male and female outhouses in comfortable reach, tissue, hand towels and handsome soap dispensers outfitted to gazebos near the stand pipes. Garbage bins are also hard to miss. Entry fee is $400 per person and hours of operation are 9am to 5 PM. The rangers are friendly and knowledgeable and stay out of your way. Cabin rental is also available. Mobile data tends to be hard to pick up so that replaces all the ruggedness that was initially softened by the modern amenities mentioned, and unless you are in unmatched company, have a good book to read or are busy with no time for your phone, you had better find games to play or new plant species to discover. A+ for the directional signs to various parts of the site including ample parking, the informative boards of the types of flora and tid bits on the history of the site. I would recommend it to students looking for a quiet place to study, groups wanting to stage a retreat, families in need of time away to have the camping experience and lovers who want to drink in the romance that nature offers. There are no snakes, bears or wild animals to contend with, and the view of Kingston and our natural harbour simply breathtaking.

The hike there is definitely worth it! The view is breathtaking and it's an exceptional picnicking spot. The lawn is well-kept and the bathrooms are clean. The flora and fauna are amazing! Did I mention that there were outlets for me to charge my devices too?!! It's a hiker/camper's dream! Still one of my all-time favourite spots in Jamaica! 🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲 The cabins are reasonable prices, and the "fire places" outsidecome in pretty handy for campers. It gets really chilly, even in the day, so travel with a sweater and even a blanket if you plan on staying to watch the sunset. My only issue was the poor roads to get there. But it's so beautiful, I still give it 5 stars, easily.

It's quite chilly so bring a sweater. Being surrounded by nature in a gazebo that fit right in was lovely. It rained but that didn't matter much because there was shelter and I went with a great group. We went for a "nature walk" of sorts that had an easy path so inexperienced hikers like myself were comfortable there. Along the paths there were gorgeous views and labelled plants and spots. There was a little alclove with a waterfall where we were surrounded by plants that was simply beautiful. My pictures won't do it justice. However, if it rains I'd advise you to either wear clothes suitable for walking through shin deep water or just stay at your gazebo...

Lovely inexpensive hideaway from Kingston & a refreshing break from the heat. JM$100 for locals, US$10 for foreigners. Five hiking trails with panoramic views of the mountains and Kingston city, lots of gazebos and informative signs around. Three cabins are available for staying overnight but book well in advance. These go fast. Otherwise, campsites are available along with tents and sleeping bags for rental. They have restrooms and a tuck shop which opens on weekends as well.

It's a great place to unwind and vibe if you're into nature themes. And even if you're not, Holywell makes it easier for you to ease into the comfort of outdoor fun with cozy cabins and campsites, and clean bathrooms and showers. Hiking trails, beautiful views of the city, friendly rangers, and something to enjoy and learn at every turn, makes Holywell truly one of a kind. My biggest suggestion for all visitors? Don't leave your sweater. 😉😅

Holywell is amazing!!!! The area is well maintained. We only did a day trip but before the day ended we were planning a weekend stay. The bathrooms are cleaner than most fast food restaurants. The staff is amazing. The trails are filled with signs. The road to holywell is winding and you should sound your horn often but I promise you will NOT regret it. Please stop read mi review and go pay the $400 and change your life.

This place has to be visited at least 3 times for the year. Is that overkill? I guess so but the experiences, cool cool weather, freshly pick fruits in the mornings and the sceneries are breathtaking. Arrive there with stress and leave stress free. Just take your good vibes and leave the rest to Mother Nature at its best...

Second time here but first time camping. Was a group of 15 of us, so we all did different shared tents. My bros and I did a tent of 4. They provided us with tents and mattreses at a cheap cost! $300 for first night, $200 for more nights. It's cold, the air is pure and refreshing. If you need a weekend getaway from the stress and annoyance of the city life, book a tent or cabin! If you have your own sleeping gear, bring 'em and set up your camp! Either way, hollywell welcomes all for good RnR.

The environment, the beautiful nature, the cozy settings, gazebos scattered across the compound to facilitate a sense of privacy among groups, and neatly placed nature trails that are not difficult to trek. Firstly if your using google maps do not go via Constant Spring Road. Just go to Papine and follow directions from there. Its faster and the road is much better from that end. However reaching the camp site the cabins were clean and well put together. The view over looking the city is awwwwwmazing, especially viewing the night lights. I would recommend anyone who is a lover of nature and a lover of views to this place. P.S. Our cabin had a stove so feel free to take utelises to prepare your food if your not a lover of dry foods.

Camping is definitely something that should be on everyone’s bucket list to do at least once, grab a group of friends and go experience nature, Hollywell was a great experience apart from the closeness to the city it was a remarkably short drive; but also the friendliness of the staff and people who live in the area, despite there being other campers it never felt as though anyone encroached on anyone else and if you are brave a listening walk at night with someone skilled in camping is an even more exhilarating experience.

The campsite was okay, had plumbing and firewood with a nice view of the city below. If you want to go please make every attempt to pay ahead of time by going to the office in Kingston. Our flight came in late on Friday and the office was closed, they were also closed on the Saturday afterwards and we wanted to camp Sunday night into Monday. We drove to the park, met a ranger who showed us some sites and we picked 1. My husband and 2 kids, we had our own tent and 2 hammocks. The ranger told us to set up and he'll collect payment at some point since he was on the shift and would also be working the overnight. Next morning we were taking down the tent and getting ready to pay. He charged us almost $10000. We did not have that much in Jamaican dollars but he said the cost was US$15 per person and US$10 for the site. US$70 for 1 night of camping, no tent or equipment rentals just the site. The rip off is real in Jamaica. Everyone is hustling, without regard, even those who should not be. I camped in Negril on the beach at a beachfront cabins and campsite and we paid no where close to US$70.

My fiance and I had an experience of a life time that we will be sharing with persons who have never been to HolyWell. It will definitely be talked about years to come. The cabin was clean and well put together. The environment was beaming in its rich natural radiance. It was a peaceful, calm, refreshing and safe place to be. HolyWell is the ideal place for soul searching and peace of mind. The temperature was beyond what we anticipated never have we ever encounter water that cold. We will definitely be revisiting this beautiful place. I wish however that there were more cabins available seeing the great demand that this park is attracting. Visiting this park was the best christmas gift we gave each other.

Could not find this place...end up being lost in the hills. I tried calling the cell number the office gave me and got no response. All I got the next day was "hush but this is the office cell number".

Enjoy the beautiful view of Kingston and the ocean behind it. There are a few different offerings here. One can go for the day, make a reservation to go camping, or rent one of the lodges available. We've only ever gone for a day trip. The admission is 400 JMD per person as of Jan 2021. With this you get access to the location. There are several pagodas placed throughout the park but generally it's first come first served if you want to secure one to yourself for a group. There are restrooms and groundskeepers to ensure cleanliness, but personally I still avoid the restrooms and clean up after myself. Some of the pagodas have a concrete enclosure with a grill, others don't. Bathroom facilities were recently updated and they've even added a "tuck shop" recently, although I can't speak to what is available there. There's a hiking trail and even a little waterfall if you're willing to explore so wear sneakers and parents, please be mindful as there are many open areas with small steep sloping/drops (and a few with large ones) so kids need to be monitored to ensure they don't fall. There are no major restaurants or shopping facilities near Hollywell Park, so if you plan to go there, make sure you pack sufficient supplies to have a good day! Bring a bucket of KFC, drinks and ice at the least. Temperatures can reach below 16 degrees Celsius and it often rains suddenly so pack well for the trip. If you have a 4WD vehicle or one with good off road capabilities, take that. The drive up can be rough if you're not used to winding roads and the occasional single lane 2 way traffic on a hillside, but it's worth it if you're looking for a peaceful and cool day up in the hills with family!

I must say, it was an amazing outdoor experience with the family. For the most part, the staff was warm, welcoming, and courteous; from park rangers Dwayne and Mr. Campbell to our tour guide Romie and his colleague who ensured we were entertained, educated, and kept safe, even Ms. Karen at the entrance security post. All except Marlon, the "supervisor" who lacked proper customer service and civil approach. I would recommend that if you intend on camping outdoor, to take your own tents, as the ones we were provided with, leaked when it rained, resulting in our belongings getting wet. Even though our trip was disturbed by Marlon's distasteful attitude and shortened because of inconveniences, I will admit it was a time well spent. Still waiting to be contacted about such events though.

The place is beautiful and relaxing. The temperature is cold so bring a sweater. The grounds can accommodate a picnic, games etc. There is a waterfall and a nature trail. The waterfall is beautiful however to get there i had to traverse muddy tracks, jump over areas of mud etc and the steps to the falls are in need of a little repair. Needless to say, bring sneakers that you arent too attached to. The nature trail isn't informative (there isn't a description of the flora and fauna) essentially its a hike through the hills. it can be dangerous at certain places so watch your step and it's also an uphill climb. But id say its a Jamaican Experience that I am proud of.

The park 🏞️ is quite welcoming and natural (as it should be). There are a number of trails you can try if you're a natureholic and the scenery is very beautiful. Be sure to take some pictures on your trip there. There are also cabins and tents if you plan on staying overnight. The journey to the actual park is quite a travel though.

Our go-to spot to reset, relax and get away from the hustle and bustle. Love to go camping and walking the trails up there. Blue Brews Bistro is a must for breakfast!

Beautiful natural park/forest reserve in Jamaica with many beautiful trees and lots of endemic Jamaican birds- perfect spot for birders. The grounds are very well kept by the rangers and manager and all showcase great customer service and are extremely helpful. The cabins and bistro are also very nice and inexpensive and add to the attractiveness of the park.

👍👍 The hike is quite steep especially near the end. It took about 4 hours return from Mr Bubbles shop and back. But it's totally worth the view if it's a clear day. We could see all of Kingston and the waters of the east coast. You do have to go through the Army Barracks and they'll take down your name...
