Take a walk back into 1739 when the Maroons ruled their own little world. This was a journey back into era of Jamaicas fight for freedom from Slavery. Its a journey anyone interested in our culture MUST take

The best place in Portland to learn about the maroons and the Jamaican culture. Dance entertainment is also done by the Charles Town Marroons and the tour guides can also give you a tour.

Charming country rustic museum telling the important inspirational story of the Maroons. The theme of the freedom fighter is universal and kept alive proudly here.

Not what we expected. It was a last minute addition to our Blue mountain coffee tour. Gave us some insight into the life of a runaway slave in 1860's Jamaica.

Enjoyed my experience here. I went as a part of a group and it was good. I enjoyed the hike to the ruins of the Coffee Plantation House and our guide was very knowledgeable and presented well, especially along the journey with facts about some herbs and showing us an actual ambush spot. The waterfall was lovely too. After the hike, my experience at the village was good, the chief was very hospitable and the museum tour was well done. I'm interested in returning to hike up Sambo Hill and to see their ceremony later this summer.

Loved the captain. He was so knowledgeable on the different bushes. The history of the place was communicated with intelligence and dignity. You must order cuisine in advance though.

Has a rich history of the Maroons. I recommend visiting other villages on the same day because it was a quick tour.
