Last August 2016 my Mum had the misfortune to suffer a stroke whilst on holiday. To say that this hospital was the most disgusting, unprofessional, inadequate and pitiful place would be an understatement. The nurses don't get their hands dirty. The doctors don't care. I had to buy everything including mattress and bed sheets. I supplied everything including adult nappies only to find my Mum left in a wet bed for hours.I could list so many things about this hospital but it would only fall on deaf ears. My Mum died in September 10 days after cornwall regional hospital discharged her with feeding tube and nowhere for her care. I had to put her in a 'nursing home' but they were not qualified to really help. My Mum developed breathing difficulties and St. Ann's Bay hospital finished off what Cornwall starred. If you can afford to pay for private do so. If you're a visitor make sure you have full medical insurance. Then you won't endure what I experienced. NO AMOUNT OF MONEY can change this hospital. The infrastructure of the whole health system requires help. The mindset of the people and their government needs to change. My heart goes out to the local people, especially the seniors. They don't respect the elderly and it's a great shame. ๐Ÿ˜ญ

Everyone beware...do not go to this hospital! A 37 year old male had a stroke and was admitted to this so called hospital. We were on vacation from Canada and were unaware of the difference between private and public hospitals in Jamaica and in such an emergent situation just wanted to seek treatment. The nurses were awful and made statements such as "you don't think I want you to go back to Toronto too" and "you come here to visit and you can change the diapers." There was no doctor on site and we were told a doctor would not be there for 4 days after his admission. The only time a doctor appeared was when a CT scan was done and after his death. Needless to say we were devastated! The patient was admitted on July 27th, 2017 and was not given and water or food, had fallen off the bed and with left-sided paralysis was given medications orally without being assessed. He patient ended up passing away on July 30th, 2017. His body has yet to be returned to Canada so that his 5 children can have closure. I've decided to share this in hopes to prevent this from happening to anyone else. Please don't go to Jamaica without health insurance and do not go to this hospital!

The service at this medical institution is lacking to say the least. I have been a patient in this medical facility for 4 days whilst there are a few dedicated workers (nurses) other will leave you to die. I went an entire day without any antibiotics and pain medication at the negligence of nurses n doctors. This is steming from an appendix surgery, it was not until I decided to check myself out and report the matter to higher levels outside the hospitals perimeters that I received what was a medioker form of alternative. I returned to get a sick letter to present to my job for the days of absence and no one could locate my medical records or docket to write the letter. I will be formally bringing this issue to the press and my international forum. To highlight Jamaica's lack of proper health care and continued wasted money in unnecessary play arounds...

Cornwall Regional hospital from my point of view is the worst hospital in Jamaica, their internal security treat people like dirt, no customer service training, the doctors just there for the money, they want you dead. Emergency people are kept on a stretchers llooking like a skating board on the floor. The nurses are ok, registration clerks doing a good job. The best doctor is woman doctor, Dr Samuels. I give her prop. The hospital needs bed n they need to train their internal security manners n customer service techniques. They are behaving like they own the hospital n the hospital cannot do without them. They need to get rid of those stripe shirts inhumane, no manners securities. The trainee nurses doing a good job. This what I gather from my experience there.

I went to the Cornwall Regional Hospital in 2018nto have my son and the hospital didn't have enough beds I had to sit on a chair for HOURS before I could get a bed, after I had baby I the Hospital didn't have any WATER like seriously??! At that point I wanted to LEAVE and go home. But all thanks to Nurse Treasure omh she was the best she took really good care of me while my Dr. Walked out on me while I was in Delivery. Because of that bad experience I try my best not to get pregnant/sick again because I don't ever want to go back there.

Someone droped me off with a cut finger. I wait in line for 4 hours. I finally get to see the nurse and she starts dressing the wound. Half way thru she stops and asks what line I was on. I point to the line I came from and she took everything off my finger and sent me back to the back of the line. I just went home and went to clinic the next day. Not to mention the place was filthy.

I believe Dr. Whyte is the best Pediatrician in Montego Bay!!! He's emotionally resilient and has good customer service skills. I really admire how level-headed he is; quickly diagnose and always provide the correct treatment for my daughter.

Was in Jamaica on vacation and was involved in a MVA. The police took us here. I had a chest injury and had an x-ray taken. After a 10hr wait I was told nothing was broken and that I was fine. Only that there would be some soreness. My sister in law was with me and she was told her wrist was only sprained. Upon arrival in the states 3 days later my wife took us to a local er. Come to find out my sternum was fractured and her wrist is broken. If you can avoid this place please do

The limited and exhausted staff are trying their best but there are not enough beds and supplies. Many Covid patients in chairs in crowded areas for many days without sleep, without food...out of drinking water some days...empty IV bags not refilled...medications not available...phones go unanswered and the government and health authorities not treating the needs of the hospital and patients as a priority...other infections being transmitted in such conditions and the suffering conditions may cause your health to decline faster at the hospital than on your own. Communities must demand better funding allocations for healthcare facilities and resources. Foreign businesses must pay a larger share. Vote out elected officials who do not generate results. Shameful and sad.

I called to get some advice for my mother how is pregnant and I got transferred to the maternity ward and I asked the person on the phone for some assistance and she said that I need to speak to a private doctor or someone else and hung the phone up and she not even hung it up probably I could hear and her co workers laughing and discussing patients I could tell what medicine Mrs.Allen is to take right now. If someone is having a medical emergency you don't hang up on them you try to assist as best as possible.

The system is so mesh up , the customer service has no ideas how to be of service to a customer. The ministry of health needs to , take all that cash that they don't know what to do with and build a new damn hospital Its old and broken. If you keep patching a old boat it will still fall apart . International Hospitals came to our countries and even build a better hospital than the one solely for the country. The private sector has taken over the industry for Jamaica and very much so Montego Bay. Over and over the government pays for unnecessary ads on television and do NOTHING the countries actual development. #stepuphealthindustry

Went there not as a patient but while there i couldn't help but notice how deplorable the place is. I saw a porter pushing a patient in a wheelchair with broken foot rest which means it's should not be in use that's an H&S issue. As usual the don't care nurses talking to the patients as if they are nobody. Patient sitting on chairs saying she's been admitted form the previous day but no bed available for her so she's been sitting on a chair for the two days until her feet are swollen I observe an emergency exit which was blocked with patients waiting in wheelchairs They need to do betterI 9q

If I could rate this place zero I would but truth is they have some good workers and some that seem like there not real human beings. I came here with my mother from 1pm she is diabetic has heart issues and has a swelling under her foot and a cut too that need cleaning or urgent attention. Anyway, we see the nurse , they send us to the doctor, doctor sends us to medication room. And for each room there was a small waiting period. So all of this took place and ended by 5 pm. At this point no one has checked the issue with the foot and we are to be seeing another doctor. At about 12 Midnight I asked the receptionists when will they start to call for patients, she tells me, when the doctor is ready. So she explains further that it's the same doctor that is doing the screening of patients just coming in, that we need to see. So it has been 8 hours since we are waiting to see a doctor. I'll let you Know what happens next. . #needhelp#diabetic#heartissues#There is life there is hope.

My daughter is very grateful to the doctors and nurses who took care of her son when his elbow was broken with an open from the elbow with a open fracture. They did not hesitate to get the surgery done immmediately withing and ensured that my 8 years old grandson was taken care of. God bless the doctors and surgeons who did the surgery and also the nurses who took care of him as well. My sons hand works like it was never broken, only the scare is there. Wonderful doctors, may God continue to bless you all. You all did a marvelous job while God continued to do the healing.

(Translated by Google) In 2016, an inpatient complained of itching. The cause has not yet been clarified, and the fourth to tenth floors of the building are currently unused. The chart is not digitized on paper. Since the cause of the itch was not known, the surface of each medical record was suctioned with a vacuum cleaner and countermeasures were taken. It was explained that there were more specialists than in the surrounding area and that emergency response was possible, but I was impressed that my life would be uneasy. As a former nurse at CRH, Iโ€™m sadden by treatment of my grandmother who was admitted to the 7th floor with fracture of her right femur. She went to the hospital with her skin clean and intact, she spent about two weeks there and was discharged home with two decubitus ulcers. At no point, did the nurse or anyone verbalized that her skin was breaking down to the NOK. It was at discharge that my aunt went to dress her and saw dressing to her hip and right gluteal. The staff doesnโ€™t even deserve a 1 star, CRH 7 East lacks empathetic caring and hardworking staff ( especially nurses). Anyway, I want to thank S.W and M.M-S who took the time out from their department to help. Yours truly Ruddean Haughton

I am in my first stage of my pregnancy and feeling sick all morning with pain in my lower abdomen, I got through to the doctor who took me to a tiny room with no bed, and all he said was to pull down my panty and bend over on the chair then he said in 10 seconds time,( no exaggeration) "go home and drink water you're pregnant".. I mean I know that already but what about my issue other than pulling down my underwear!?? Not to mention the dirty tent people has to be waiting under, with messy chairs, smelly with flies cause there are dogs living under there and 3 mad people. We bond to catch any and every infection there

Wow this place is just horrible. And what is even worst is that every emergency medical cases are routed back right to this horrible institution and their medical machinery are always out of service or their equipments are down. The staff is horrible, wait times could be improved because they do not handle emergency situations how they should be handled. Its like they WANT you to die, not even joking. Everything about this so called hospital is so horrible its unreal. It doesn't just stop there, the problem stems from the government itself, public health care is so horrible I can't even put the the disgust of this place in words. The mindset of the people, the whole system, everything is screwed smh. Its been this way for many years and its not getting any better.

Currently the main building has been shutdown due to problems with building materials (asbestos I think), so most of its facilities have been relocated elsewhere. Because of this the quality of the stay is no longer the best (it's pretty bad) and very disorganized, however, you can tell that the staff are trying their absolute best given their working conditions. I personally would not like to be a patient here, and would recommend the hospital in Falmouth or to go to a private hospital if you could afford it. Hopefully the hospital is rebuilt or renovated very soon

Staff was nice the time my mother was there with the exception of one of the female security guards at 4E. She worked the Saturday I went there and her attitude was terrible I plan to write to the board because she was rude when I simply asked her to explain the visiting hour procedures as if I was bothering her..... The others were professional to the tee and very thorough with their work

Waiting from 8 :30 am for appointment made in advance doctors arriving at 10 am now itโ€™s 3:30 still no idea what or if we will see a doctor? Seriously? Professional standards are lacking service boarders on unintended disrespect. Wasteful to the community and a poor reflection on the medical community. Government waste and corruption at taxpayer and community health expense . Turn the money over to tax payers and let them find private practice medical facilities that are accountable. No excuses let Doctors , nurses and patients build a system that works, not legislatures an politicians.

Uh! ๐Ÿ˜” Typical hospital scenery, smell and behaviour, the whole works. Waited practically all day-outside before I could get to triage, with limited seating and shade. Note however, that, due to infrastructure issues, this hospital is not operating inside the actual hospital building but rather, it's in a rented conference area location, more like a Field Hospital type setting. The security guards outside are very helpful, pleasant and amusing even, but boy, the wait is a killer! Had to visit there twice in one week and, I'm still recovering from the long wait. Otherwise, can't complain about the services that were recieved.

This is far less than what I expect from an Hospital. I was there for a week without a bed the doctors i had was ok but the hospital facilities is really poor the bathroom doors cannot lock and there is only one shower where i was for everyone. The waiting period is unlike anywhere else i went there referred by a general practitioner from 7 pm and saw the doctor about 1 am and was waiting until 12 hours after to see the doctor again that i was sent over to. This is the same treat for even a lot of elderly person. The power also goes out often I donโ€™t know if that is a coincidence when i was there are it happens all the time but there is no back up power also when it goes out.

I believe that some of those doctors, nurses, securities, etc they need to be thought a thing or two about professionalism because they really don't know what it is.

I did a surgery there a few years back,to tell the honest truth i was extremely surprised about the quality treatment that I got, you know what people always say public health care isn't good, but I can say ,that's not true.I was well taken care of ,the operation was a success. For months ,weeks leading to the surgery on the day everything was incredible.very professional surgical team ,caring, kind and just amazing.I wish I could thank them again. For a person that has a phobia for hospitals and everything medical, when they told me everything would be alright ,they sure lived up to their words.Thank you Jesus for been there the entire time with me .Its not a one time thing I was on the ENT clinic there for almost five years excellent service.big up oonuh self

๐Ÿ˜  Honestly the wait time to see a doctor is unacceptable for a private institution. Please do better having 1 GP o...
