Very cool place to visit! We went here in the middle of the day around 1. Ever since covid appeared they have you get your tickets online and have you choose a time so the place isn’t overcrowded. That was something I appreciated because sometimes it is very hard to see exhibits with a bunch of little kids with their hands all over the glass and yelling. The aquarium was well kept and cleaned. Exhibits were easy to follow and read about and observe. We saw the little cute otters asleep on the side all bundled up soon as we walked through the doors and that was adorable. Alligators were a sight to see. Definitely meet miss Luna the albino, she has a beautiful set of scales on her. It’s a bit musky inside so don’t dress for AC cold weather blasting. Recommend a good pair of walking shoes, a sundress or shorts and a tee, and have your phones and cameras ready WITHOUT flash. It’s obnoxious to the wildlife and isn’t necessary. There is a hurricane contraption that is cash only $2 that blows wind around you and makes you feel like your standing in a category 1 hurricane (wind only) Check the times for their shows, they have shows that teach about the wildlife within the aquarium and talk about who is there and outside in the world.

We love this place! It's a rather small Aquarium compared to others, good varieties of animals though. Great for kids! With it's beautiful location and walking trails outside it makes it one of our favorites! We take the ferry from Southport, NC across to Fort Fisher. Only takes about 25 minutes. And it's only $7 to take your car/truck on the ferry. No reservations needed an advance for the ferry, but you do need them in advance for the Aquarium. The prices are amazing with only like $13 for adults for tickets to the Aquarium! Lots to do over there with seeing the Fort and driving down to Kure beach! Check out all the local stops to get something to eat, very good!

While "smaller" than most aquariums, it still has plenty to offer especially for families with kids. Did not expect much because the admission was low-priced compared to other aquariums, but this place over delivered! Very nice experience. The shark tanks are awesome. The snack area has a wide variety that is reasonably priced and there is a nice playground for the kids too expend some energy. You had to get advance reservations when we went, so keep that in mind. Highly recommend!

It's been probably 2 years since we were last at the aquarium and it still fills me with joy and peace each time I go. It's not the largest aquarium in the USA but it offers a ton to see and for a great value. For $12.50 per adult and $10.50 per child (12 and under), you can experience a wide variety of aquatic life that is themed for the local area. There are exhibits featuring underwater life from the Masonboro Sound, Cape Fear Sound and much more. Want to see hammerhead sharks? They got those. Want to see a beautiful array of jellyfish? Got those too. I love our local aquarium and will probably join an annual membership soon since it's only $139 for the family. Thanks again to the staff who were all friendly and still completely masked and to the aquarium for offering us locals, a nice retreat on a Sunday afternoon.

A good place to view local sea life. Some very nice exhibits and easy enough to navigate at any age. It took 4 adults about an hour to walk through. There is a hurricane simulator machine that costs $2 and only takes $1 bills. They have an auditorium with movies and short lessons. We didn't see the times for the events posted. You exit through the gift shop and there is a concession stand outside and a playground for the kids. A nice walk to the parking lot with a few more outdoor exhibits.

This is a nice aquarium! Tickets for adults are about $13. I advise buying tickets online because it’s reservation only, and by the hour. We went not knowing and had to wait until the next hour to go in since we did not have a reservation. The outers were my favorite part! Great experience.

(Translated by Google) We recently visited the zoo. Expensive ticket price, (25.000) for this price expect to see more ... At least clean, odorless cells. I liked the fish department more or less. It's a pity for animals and birds - in most of the enclosures (especially those in closed ones) the territory is poorly equipped, namely: the lack of space for movement, the natural landscape in which the animals live is not taken into account. The pavilions are stuffy, possibly due to ventilation problems. All enclosures are of the same type, with the same furnishings (tree branches and imitation of stone) - both for birds and for reptiles and primates. Large animals in outdoor enclosures are deprived of clean water. Areas with lions and tigers, as well as areas of bears and wolves, can be cited as an example of the fact that there is no circulation of clean water in their enclosures. Pools (and also drinkers) with muddy water, the walls of the pool are covered with a green coating .... An improvement in the situation can be seen in the area with artiodactyls and bovids. In the fenced-off area for animals there is a necessary place for walking, there is grass that animals can eat, combining with the main food. Birds, such as storks, ibises, swans and pelicans, have rather large enclosures, but here too the problem is water with bird feathers and an unpleasant smell ... I liked the artificial lake with ducks and swans. The territory of the lake is large, birds can move freely within it. Perhaps some problems arose after the quarantine was lifted and the zoo is just resuming its work, but nevertheless, the zoo was closed to visitors for several months, something could be changed, for example, to clean the enclosures, to establish a water supply and filtration system .. ..

We really enjoyed our visit to the aquarium. The exhibits and displays were beautiful and the gardens and sculptures were very pretty. I was surprised that the surfaces on the glass and everything were very dirty and it did smell inside. Overall it was a good visit and the grandchildren had a blast! .

My second visit here, 12 years apart. Still a beautiful, exciting and informative experience. Lots of aquariums, and other enclosures, like the alligators and otters. Very clean. Tickets are reasonable. Nice gifts shop, prices are as expected. Was crowded on Monday at noon, and it was raining outside so we didn't get to walk the trails but they looked very pretty.

It's not a huge aquarium, but it's a good one to see & learn about local North Carolina Aquatic life. My 2 year old son especially loved the opportunity to pet stingrays and horseshoe crabs. The design and decor were great. I would definitely recommend it to visitors. Live animals we saw - seahorses, bass, snakes, alligators, sharks, turtles, jellyfish, stingrays, shrimp, gar, coral fish, otters, Goliath grouper and more!

We had an awesome experience with this aquarium, we went during week day no rush. The ticket is 12.95 for adult & free for 2 and under kids. My kid loved it and enjoyed thoroughly. Due to current pandemic situation the crowd is lesser but yes precautions(mask and distancing) are better there inside. Sanitizer stations everywhere and highlighted touch areas on spots. I personally expected some more sea species like octopus, dolphin which you won't find but n regret with the cost paid. good 1-2 hr entertainment for kids and you. Kids will enjoy definitely. One time watch thing. Also to mention that the beach is very close by like just a walking distance that way you don't have to stop or search for beach area, all things that kids can enjoy at.

Small aquarium but a nice trip. They should consider having a weekend per month for adults only as some of us want to enjoy the exhibits and animals without children screaming and crying and without hearing parents asking their children if they see *insert large fish species*. It can take about an hour plus to fully enjoy the experience. They have a gift shop and also a place to get food and picnic tables outside.

Very nice experience! We visited after Memorial Day weekend, and it wasn’t too crowded at 3:30pm. An hour was plenty for us to walk through, but would certainly need more time if their outdoor playground was open. Lots of space to sit down outside & beautiful beautiful garden! So many turtles in the pond! Also, beach access with free parking is just a minute out - would highly recommend combining both to have a fun full day experience bonding with family. 10/10

Our favorite NC aquarium! Large variety of aquatic life and biomes, as well as an outdoor section that has eagles. The massive tank in the middle is definitely the main attraction, but I appreciated the touch area, jellyfish tanks, and the real coral. The first section is themed very well, and I think the interior sections could replicate that as well (with their individual themes of course). I noticed that not all tanks had descriptions for everything in them, and some had no information at all. Overall a great aquarium and a fun way to spend several hours at the beach!

Lots of interesting things to see. Handicap parking and wheelchair accessible. You must purchase tickets in advance. Masks are required. They offered to photograph your family at the beginning of your tour and you can pick up the finished photo at the end of your day. There is a gift shop with all sorts of cute collectible things. They gave military discount for my active duty service member. Kids of all ages enjoy this place.

The food was wonderful at the snack bar outside as well. Thank you to the staff and those behind the scenes we don't get to thank!! ❤️☺️

Very nice aquarium! It isn't very big but has a very nice variety of fish and animals I didn't even expect to see like the Eagle. I loved the otters even though they were sleeping. We even got a good laugh because I thought it was so nice of the aquarium to put that blow up toy alligator in with the real alligator so he don't get lonely. He looked comfortable with his toy by his side until that "toy" decided to move to the other side of the tank. I thought albino meant white. I never saw an alligator that color before. That bright green with the white didn't even look real! We also enjoyed learning about frogs. It was informative. Don't forget to plan your visit and order your tickets in advance online, they were sold out for the whole day so you won't be able to pick any up at the door.

The North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher is a lovely place. I really recommend the visit. It is smaller than the aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores but just as nice. It has lots of animals and knowledgeable staff. Staff were always willing to answer questions and interact with the kiddos. Also has a play ground and snack area, but the food items are a bit pricey (as with any place like this). And the beach is just a bit up the road.

I have visited this aquarium twice with my 5, 4, and 2 year old. I would definitely book in advance. The first time we went they were sold out until a later time. Thankfully, we walked around on the beach and it was not a big deal. Both times we went on a Saturday the restaurant was closed outside. I would always check the website in advance or bring snacks. It only takes 1-2 hours to complete the entire aquarium. It’s enjoyable and the kids love it. As far has interactive play for children there is a outdoor playground, you get to touch sting rays/horseshoe crabs, and when we went one time there was an employee that allowed us to touch a turtle. I’m thankful the state of North Carolina has nice aquariums like this one.

I enjoyed our visit today. The otters weren't in their habitat yet, but the building is open now and there are some animals floating around. Upset that their was no flags up outside or in any exhibits for Veteran's Day. Some people forget that we're supposed to be spaced out, and that we all want a turn. The staff is lovely though, everyone is really helpful! High touch areas are labeled, and hand sanitizer is placed throughout the aquarium. Gift shop is currently closed, but touch tank and the playground are accessible. Cannot wait to see the otters next time!

My family and I stopped here on our vacation. It was nice to visit. The otters were really fun to watch.(exhibit closes early so ck website). The sea turtles, sharks, & other exhibits were interesting too. Great place to take the family. They even take your pic I'm front of green screen & they give you 3 different backdrops which is cool. We haven't had a family photo in awhile. They also have a great gift shop.

What a great experience! Fun for kids and adults. Lots of local habitat and ocean exhibits, a great gift store, good food (kid said it was the best burger ever!), and reasonable prices. Only complaint is that the family photos they take were incredibly expensive. So much so that we had to pass ($45-61) depending on the package. People don't need the same picture with different backgrounds. Just one or two in a paper jacket for $10-20 would probably sell many more. I saw several people walk away because of the price.

My Family loves spending time at the Aquarium. Not so big that it wears them out but still plenty of Beautiful Animals & Fish to see. Today my Daughter's class was there for a Field Trip and had a Great Time. A big thank you to the Staff there today. I believe there names were Nate, Kay & Elizabeth. (I apologize if the names are wrong). Nate did an incredible job and was so good with the kids. I was very impressed with him. We are very fortunate to have this great Aquarium & Park so close to our home.

Currently you have to prebook your reservation online and cannot buy tickets at the entrance. The price was good for the size of the aquarium. It was a very nice experience, educational and pleasant place to visit. I enjoyed the otters and the big water exhibit with the huge fish, sharks, stingray and turtle. The staff that was cleaning that tank were friendly while scuba diving in the exhibit and interacting with the children looking in from the outside, playing and posing for a photo for family.

We had a great time visiting the aquarium. It was nice to move at your own pace going from exhibit to exhibit. I believe just about every exhibit was opened and all the marine wildlife was visible. I was excited about the picture they took once you entered the enclosed space. You had to wait until you got to the end to view the photos. While I was able to select an image that we really liked, it was a bit disheartening to learn you couldn't buy just 1 image. Everything came in packages only. We ended up passing on the photo. Other than that, we had a great time there.

Absolutely loved my visit there. I arrived about 10:45 or so, just before their major rush. There is typically a small wait if you arrive during the lunch time hours . They have some amazing exhibits and to be honest, I frequent this place with my wife and kids, so the only reason I personally came this time was for the otter pups and I wasn't disappointed. They were so active and curious and a bit photogenic. Overall, I wish I could give more than 5 stars, because this place, between their incredible staff, amazing exhibits and overall atmosphere, it is certainly worth praising.

During our stay at Carolina beach, we stopped by this aquarium. The first animals being sea otters was a great first impression. Too cute. My 4 year old son loved everything, especially the large tank with the sharks and huge sea turtle. For the price it was worth it. My son went through the whole place 3 times in 2 hours (he moves fast). I wish they had more hands on experiences like petting sting rays etc. I also wish my son wouldn’t have seen the toy store at the end. $20 per plush toy is very expensive 😅 all in all a fun experience for my kid. All the workers were friendly and nice to my son. Buy your tickets in advance online or there will be a wait.

It costs $13 to get in during covid off season. A lot of things are closed and a lot of animals not in exhibit. Staff was very nice and explained the animals but not a huge place and you can probably kill an hour or two max. Could be expensive for a big family and not sure during covid if worth it.

It was a nice family outing. It was pricey in my opinion. $85 for a family of 7. And there was a lot of things roped off or otherwise closed. Which is understandable as covid is still a threat. But I do wish they would lower prices since you can't fully enjoy the entire aquarium. I was also confused to see the playground closed since all other playgrounds were allowed to reopen. But we did enjoy our day here.

As this place was lovely, it was also very small and very pricey. Our family of 4 spent about 1 hr here and spent over $50 to get in. I understand that Covid messed up a lot of things but it was hard to swallow the price we just paid for the few things we were able to see.

Fun aquarium with lots of neat fish. There are much larger places with much more to within an hour or so, for around the same ticket. Still, worth a visit, even if you see all there is to offer in just an hour or two.

TASHKENT ZOO The modern zoo is a center for the creation of collections of rare and endangered animal species included in the International and Republican Red Data Books, their artificial breeding and familiarization of the population with the fauna of the Republic and the World. In addition, it is a cultural, educational and research institution for the conservation, breeding and reintroduction of rare and valuable species of animals. The Tashkent Zoo was organized in 1924 at the initiative of zoological scientists of the Central Asian University. By the end of the 40s, the Tashkent Zoo, formed and with an exposition of about 200 species, took a direct part in organizing a network of zoos in Central Asia - Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, and Tajikistan. Since the 80s, the initiative group of the old zoo began a long-term work in search of new spacious territories within the city and permission to obtain them. However, it should be noted that the small zoo continued to live its large, fulfilling life. The old expositions were reconstructed and repaired, the collection of animals, rich in species, was preserved and, as far as possible, grew. Thousands of citizens, residents and guests of Uzbekistan enjoyed visiting a small corner of wildlife in the city center. But the most important achievement of the old zoo was the training of professional staff to work with exotic animals. Despite the cramped areas, modest mud brick premises and other shortcomings, many species of animals reproduced well in the zoo. The special pride of the Tashkent Zoo was the breeding of Andean condors, for the first time in the world history of zoos. In 1992, the territory of the Tashkent Zoo was 10.7 hectares, the number of animal expositions totaled more than 270 species. In 1994, by order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 267-f from 13.07.1994. construction of a new zoo has begun, meeting all modern requirements and world standards. In 1997, on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic - September 1 - a new zoo was put into operation, located next to the Botanical Garden of the city. Its territory now covers an area of 21.5 hectares. The animals received spacious comfortable enclosures equipped with ponds and warm rooms in case of winter cold. Today, the zoo has departments: "Aquarium", "Terrarium", "Primates", "Parrots", "Birds", "Predatory", "Waterfowl", "Ungulates", "Invertebrates", "Small mammals", "Vivarium", and "Contact Zoo". A veterinary clinic, toxicological and biochemical laboratories operate to provide veterinary care to animals.

The admission price is expensive-almost $40 for adult tickets. There are lots of things to do here, however and there are free tickets through local library's discoverandgo programs. The aquarium is beautiful and you can sit down on a bench and watch the fish swim above your head in the tunnels. The albino alligator is really cool to see. I was impressed with the kids room. It has a treehouse to play in, puppets, crafts and legos. My 3 year old spent a lot of time here. If you are lucky, you can sometimes find street parking in golden gate park, or you park in the music concourse parking, which charges a fee.

Wow... what a great experience! We took a trip down in February and needed to keep the kids busy on a rainy day. We booked ahead online (very easy) and showed up during our time slot. There were plenty of Covid awareness signs and hand sanitizing stations throughout the whole complex. Everyone was masked. We felt totally fine spending the day here! My wife and I kept remarking to ourselves how much better all the exhibits were than other well known aquariums we'd been to. Very interactive for kids of all ages. My little ones loved it and we go through all of our pics every few days! It was a hit and we'll definitely recommend and visit again!

We had a great time taking the kids there. Mask mandates are in place, and you need to schedule a time to enter, but there is no time limit on your stay. We went early but it did start to get crowded by the time we left. Prices are very reasonable, especially compared to private aquariums we have been too throughout NC. The indoor exhibits are great, with almost any kind of North Carolina sea life available to see, including alligators and otters to add some variety. Besides the many indoor exhibits, there is also mini trail worth walking on the outside that has a rescued bald eagle as well as fossil hunt for kids worth doing. If you are staying anywhere nearby, this is a visit worth doing.

Quick note that due to Covid, ticket sales are all done in advance on the website. This aquarium is great! It's not that big, and you could probably go through the whole thing in 10 minutes if you aren't interested in aquatic life, but we spent nearly 2 hours looking through all the exhibits and at all of the creatures. There are many opportunities to be hands on, even with covid precautions in place. It is a great value, and I highly recommend visiting for guests of all ages.

  • 5/5 Cassandra N. 2 years ago on Google

Worth every penny. My family loved it! The petting/touch exhibits are so cool for kids. They got to touch starfish, sea anemones, crabs, and stingrays! Excellent variety of sea creatures. Aquarium staff were friendly and accommodating, explaining all the animals and their behavior. It was crowded, but everyone was nice and made room for little kids to see the animals. Spent a small fortune in the gift shop, but that's because they had such a nice selection of cool souvenirs. I would get a membership and come back all the time if we lived closer!

  • 4/5 Brandie F. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely a better place to go with smaller kids for sure. It's not a very big aquarium. They have lots of interactive activities for kids though. The otters are adorable. I loved the baby sea turtle. Lots of jellyfish to watch. They were so mesmerizing in their tank. The albino alligator was interesting too. Worth a visit if you are in the area. Wouldn't necessarily drive very far out of the way for it though.

It’s very small 2 floor aquarium not worth the price we pay, we were done with the whole aquarium in less than 1 hour. To keep you here for long time and earn money they have made kids play area next to cafeteria at exit. Good thing was it’s close to kure beach where we spend rest of our time. Please note they need advance ticket booking and will let you in only 15 prior to reserved time. Cafeteria has decent selection of food with average price range. You can expect per person meal between $6-$12. Disappointed with the size and animals variety.

  • 4/5 Mattie W. 1 year ago on Google
This place was okay. The staff is very nice, the place is very clean, but it’s lacking a little more life. I don’t know if this is due to COVID or not, but a few more exhibits will make it more exciting. Still a really good place to visit with the little ones. I hope they are able spruce it up a little more. I still enjoyed visiting the aquarium.

A marvelous aquarium that never disappoints. Granted, it's not as huge as say those in Baltimore or Monterey, but it does offer a diversity of species in different settings. A worthwhile visit if you're looking for something for the family to do on a rainy day at the beach, this is the place. Do order your tickets online. Parking can be somewhat difficult. Bring a lunch and enjoy a picnic.

Our family loves to visit aquariums and this one did NOT disappoint! Read some of the reviews and felt like our experience was a little Duffy. We spent two hours here exploring and loved every second of it. There is a hurricane simulator that is cash only so plan on bringing $2. Tickets are advance sale and I highly recommend the 9am slot. Wasn’t too busy at all. First pick on parking and the whole building was nice and cool in temp. They have a wide variety of animals and will definitely keep the kiddos entertained! We will return again on our next visit.

Rainy day at the beach or simply want to get out of the sun for a bit? The aquarium is a good option to spend a couple hours. Kids will love the fish, alligators, otters, snakes, jelly fish,... Don't miss the enrichment activities with the otters or the divers cleaning the tanks. I particularly liked the fact the the aquarium showcases fish of the area and actively participates in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation. Mornings are nice and quiet but the place gets really busy towards the middle of the day. Must reserve tickets in advance!

  • 5/5 Stephanie D. 1 year ago on Google
Well worth visiting if you're in the area! There is so much to see here. Friendly, helpful staff that rotated around so you saw many different people and got lots of different information about the animals. While we were there (7/22) they even had Maverick the bald eagle who cannot fly and has his own little sanctuary outside even though he is not Aquatic. Fully packed gift shop with lots to choose from and the snack shack has many options with adjacent vending machines as well. Every single staff person we ran into was so friendly and knowledgeable. 10/10 would love to stop by again if we are in the area in the future.

  • 4/5 Holly B. 1 year ago on Google
The aquarium experience is wonderful. I'm here to talk more about the restaurant and play areas. The food is a bit expensive but I guess it's convenient. The playground is super nice. And there's a fossil dig that's more shaded than the playground. That might work better for you on a hot day. We didn't find much there. They need a new supply to dig through.

  • 5/5 Drew B. 9 months ago on Google
The aquarium is bigger than it appears at first and has many experiences to enjoy. Our kids always love when there is a touch tank and they were not disappointed with this one. Plus we were able to see many different types of sharks, rays, fish, jellies, sea turtles, and so much more. I think our kids’ favorite thing though may have been the otters. We weren’t able to see the new pups as they were just born but we did get to see the mother and son pairing they have there.

  • 5/5 David H. 9 months ago on Google
Get reservations / tickets online in advance especially if there's rain in the forecast. We drove an hour and took a half hour ferry and arrived when they opened, only to find out that we couldn't get in until 3 hours later at noon. I didn't buy in advance just in case the weather changed or we got off to a late start. We were here 10 years ago when our kids were younger. Now that they're older, it didn't take us as long to go through. It was still enjoyable for us.

Even though it is small, it packs quite a punch in terms of exhibits, activities, and their exceptional staff. The aquarium has 🦦 otters, 🦈 sharks, eels, 🐟🐠 of many varieties, 🦞 lobsters, 🦀 crabs, and 🐢 turtles. The huge tank with sharks and eels is the biggest hit for kids and adults. They also offer concessions, an outdoor playground and fossil dig, and low ticket prices. They also feature ♿ handicap accessible 🅿️ parking, seating, and 🚻 restrooms.

Amazing!!! This is a great aquarium for all ages, so definitely visit this place if your in the area. Marine life is amazing and I was captivated by the jellyfish, could have spent an hour just watching them. They have Nimbus, this super cute white loggerhead turtle who I forgot to take more pictures but he is so precious. Loved reading all about this special guy and understanding why he is in captivity.

Always a great experience at the aquarium! Don’t forget to buy tickets in advance. Ever since COVID, they’ve had a strict reservation policy. During this visit we were excited to see the otters both napping and playing in separate enclosures. Outside, turtles and alligators were seen enjoying the sunshine!

Lots of wonderful exhibits and animals to see! I would highly recommend buying tickets in advance, this aquarium can get very busy due to being a popular attraction and summer camps. I also saw a cat and catfish talk to each other!

It was very nice. 2 floors. Well priced. I would definitely make reservations in advance or you may not be able to get in, at least on the weekend. They have a playground and other little fun things for kids. The gift shop is nice, but be prepared to spend some money and know there a good bit of stuff that don't have price tags.

Getting tickets over the phone was so easy. We did get them a day in advance and good thing we did because they were sold out. We made so many memories and got some absolutely beautiful photos. I've been to many zoos and aquariums and this is by far one of my favorites. I was taken as a child and so glad for the opportunity to take my children. Be sure to walk all the trails around the aquarium and inside at the end because it is a beautiful scene you do not want to miss. We went in August, wear sun screen and bug spray for outside. Bring a few pennies and hand full of quarters to make Souvenir coins. The gift shop is reasonably priced vs most attration stores. They offer homeschool tickets for those who want a field trip. If your taking a ferry I recommend taking which ever gets you to the aquarium about 45 min before entry to walk the trails around outside the aquarium. And bring towels to hit the beach after. Pocket a ferry schedule so you can return to south port or bald head and not miss it. If you miss the last ferry it's a 2.5 to 3 hour drive.

Wonderful aquarium with plenty to see. Entry is quick and easy, there is a restaurant (outdoors), gift shop, and playground (outdoors). Only complaint is that the restaurant is outside... Not fun in hot weather. They could at least add some fans. My family loves this aquarium and looks forward to visiting each summer. Remember, tickets must be purchased in advance!

We went on a Monday morning & it was pretty quiet, which was nice. We were able to go through the aquarium in about 45 minutes... the kids weren't into reading the info as much as popping around to see the animals.

Love being a member of the Aquarium at Fort Fisher. Such a treat taking friends and family to visit! We went Monday and the sea otters were all piled up together taking a nap! What a delightful sight! And a Seahorse had babies right in front of our very eyes! Amazing! Love watching all the activity going on at the Aquarium! Be sure to go online and make reservation

Beautiful, smaller aquarium but so enjoyable! Took my nephew, sister and boyfriend and we all really enjoyed our time. It was very busy, but you don’t mind because the exhibits are that great. The price is perfect for what you get and the staff are friendly and full of smiles. I definitely recommend!

Great experience for the whole family! Interactive activities, beautiful sea creatures, great exhibits and plenty of reasons to take pictures. Our favorites were the: otters, sharks, and interactive pool. Awesome gift shop! Lots of souvenirs for all ages at affordable prices.

Had great quality time with my family learning about sea life and observing and interacting with different sea creatures. Great exhibits and helpful staff. Restrooms were decent. Plenty of parking and you have to make reservations before going in.

This is a good medium sized aquarium. The very first exhibit is a group of river otters, we counted 9, and they were adorable and playful. Definitely my kids favorite. We were able to watch a feeding session, and my kids enjoyed the interactive elements on the bottom level. One of the sharks flashed his teeth at us inches from the glass, so cool. Despite being a holiday (Labor Day), it wasn't very crowded, and we found parking easily. And, when my daughter cut her toe outside, she got the kindest help from the security team who met us with the first aid kit and cleaned her up The injury was entirely the fault of her worn out flip flops, but the staff was so sweet with her.

The smell hits you first. The tanks are obviously old .or maybe they just need cleaning. Best part were the otters cause you could ACTUALLY see them...but I didn't like their habitat because they were just exposed for easier viewing. There were 2 divers in a tank, really very cool!,

We had a family weekend beach trip 2 weeks ago and we really enjoyed the aquarium. I have been several times in the past but they have added new exhibits!Love, love, love, the otters!!! Some of my family had their first visit, we all enjoyed it young and older! We did buy our tickets ahead of time and we had no wait. The gift shop is nice too. They have souvenirs that aren't so expensive you can't get something. We also had lunch at the Shark Bites snack bar. They offer a good selection of food and are reasonably priced. The chicken tenders were really good!! We are looking forward to our next visit in the spring! 🙂

Small but mighty! What an amazing little aquarium. It appears to be a safe haven for our local sea life. There are many rescued animals there who are a pleasure to connect with. Staff is knowledgeable & accommodating. You can learn so much about the natural habitats along our beautiful NC coast. Many features & rooms & tanks to explore. It's a total adventure complete with a whole outdoor experience & a butterfly enclosure in the spring & summer. Love this place! They have a group of baby sea otters right now! Omg, I never felt so smitten in my life! Highly recommend. Great for both kids & adults. And also... great gift store. Cheers!

Love this place, always been a great place to visit. Plenty of parking and access to the building is easy. Staff was super friendly and awesome as always. Smoking is outside of aquarium. Not to big and not too small. The divers in the big tank are awesome.

What a fabulous aquarium, well worth going out of your way to visit! The starting point provides great opportunities to watch otter families. The otter family of 7 was particularly engaging. Guides are standing everywhere to provide more information on each species. The divers who volunteer to clean the tanks were easily a favorite of many kids. Even with some school groups there, the aquarium is large enough to accommodate large numbers without feeling crowded. Kids enjoy multiple opportunities to touch and climb and use computers to learn more about various species. There are scheduled programs throughout the day. We attended the salt water tank expo and it was very engaging. Literally. Viewers could respond by phone to interesting questions about the sharks, etc. It’s worth taking advantage of the photo op: good quality photos, multiple options at reasonable prices.

This was a lovely aquarium and very handicapped accessible! I need a scooter. Aside from the fish, they have Lola, an albino alligator and a bald eagle 🦅 that was hit by a car and can’t fly. Both would’ve died in the wild. We had a great day out and the gift shop has many treasures!
