It was a beautiful experience. They had Christmas lights in all kinds of shapes and sizes. In the summer it's a beautiful garden that you walk through.

Amazing aquarium for the price! Plus, the botanical gardens are included with the bug and butterfly exhibit. Must do if you are passing through with young kids.

We had a great time. Not a huge place but it is really nice. The river otters were cool. Admission also included entry to the botanical garden next door which made it a great value. We'll definitely go again some time.

I took my little here, and she had a blast. She couldn't stop giggling at the sea otters sun bathing. The "touch pool" wasn't open, but we will definitely come back here. The staff is friendly and accommodating. It's a super cheap way to spend a couple hours. There's even a dining room where you can sit and watch the fishes swim around. There was no line for admission (we went in the morning on a week day). Thank goodness for the accessibility. There are ramps everywhere. The only place there is no ramp (underwater viewing floor) there is an elevator to access it. Very stroller friendly!

Found this place along Route 66, and I must say, this is a crown jewel of Albuquerque!!! The aquarium has everything you would expect, including sharks in a lower level eye view tank! And then we moved over to the Gardens (did I tell you one ticket gets you in to BOTH museums??)... Strolling along, there is so much to see (and smell), you might actually want to go back through a 2nd time! Also a nice area at the gardens for the kids to explore! Must stop place IMO.. (tell them Whats Up Bob sent you!)

Loved visiting the aquarium during our trip. We saw some fish I've never seen in any other aquarium. The river otters were a favorite, and I was surprised to see a bird hanging out inside. We went around 2 pm and got to see several tanks get fed. There was a diver in the tank with the sharks 😯 Glad we didn't buy tickets in advance as you must choose time of arrival and there are no refunds. We didn't have to wait and it wasn't busy on a Sunday. To touch the stingrays, you need to go on a weekday.

Super cute place. Not giant, but much bigger than I expected it to be. The kids had a great time, and when we visit we will definitely go again. It was a bit pricey, but for out of staters that's normal. It looks like there's a lot more to do when it warm out too.

Wow I had a tooth ache and the concession sold me a NM brewsky. I'm not a drinker but happily tried one and wow it was the best day at the aquarium. And I felt so happy that they are taking such good care of the place. Security everywhere! It was so beautiful there hadn't been there in years although I stayed a member and wow! Everything had grown. My kids liked the live turkey and grape vineyard. What a nice day and wow no aspirin but a drink to say cheers the place is open again after being closed for so long. The English rose garden was my favorite. And I liked how they put photos to remind my 7 children about the sea world friends that are on vacation . so thank you for having us Albuquerque bio park.

Nice little aquarium. I enjoy walking through the botanical gardens it's usually very tranquil. Especially after taking the kids to see all the fish. Wish the butterfly exhibit would have been open. Idk how we always miss that. Or when it's ever open?

This is one of the smallest aquariums I have ever seen in my life. I take that back, it is the smallest. That being said, the ticket prices are very reasonable considering. I was not able to make it over to the botanical gardens but I'm told they are lovely. I got to speak quite a bit with one of the marine biologists on staff and you can tell they are very passionate about taking care of the animals, which is always good. But, it is an aquarium in the middle of a desert, so how much can you really expect?

I absolutely love and recommend this aquarium for anyone looking for an affordable, fun time with your children! The aquarium is relatively small, it took us about 30-45 minutes to look at all the marine life, although we didn't stop and read all the plaques. It is very well put together with lots of bang for the buck. We bought the combination passes which included aquarium, botanical gardens, and zoo for 2 adults and 3 kids for less than 100 bucks. So for less than 100 bucks we had about 7 hours of family fun and it would have been longer if not for the cold weather at the zoo and botanical gardens. Pros: Very well put together, lots of various marine life, indoors Cons: Relatively small. 30-45 minutes gets you through the whole thing, probably an hour to an hour and a half if you are really reading everything.

Small aquarium, price is good for the size. They offer military discount. Kids enjoyed the variety of fish. They had otters playing. And a shark tunnel.

Great place for literally any occasion. My son & I go there just spend quality mother son time and see all the amazing fish. The gardens are great for formal parties and weddings. Worth spending a day off in a huge shark tank than at home watching shark tank.

This visit was totally unplanned but it was a great visit. We were able to see royal Bengal tiger. Zoo is so well maintained and so clean Bombay should learn from this zoo. There are many other animals like snow leopard, wolf. There's also mountaineering institute which is very beautifully planned and shows history of expedition and also the whole Himalayan range. There is replica of ranges. Worth visiting.

Buy your timed ticket online and show the confirmation on your smart phone at entry. Bring a water bottle: fountains are tuned off and only refill station has a dirty filter. Plan on an absolute maximum of 45 minutes for the aquarium if you read all signage: ("Everything is about to be extinct because of humans"), or 10-15 minutes if you have kids ever-anxious to move to the next exhibit. The film and touch tank are closed (Covid). If the outside temperature is tolerable, I highly recommend the attached arboretum.

Definitely worth seeing. Buy tickets ahead of time though. The touch pool and shops were all closed when I went so that was disappointing. Just gonna have to come again I guess 😉 There was a cart selling a few plushies so I got me a rainbow alligator that I absolutely love. The gardens were by far the best part. Every piece was beautiful down to the leaves of every plant in the large green house. I recommend taking water and reapplying sunscreen every few hours. We did it twice during the whole trip and I still got a nice tan around my watch. The ceremonial gardens were the absolute best. Beautiful and refreshing. We even spotted a live porcupine just chilling in the trellis! Next time I'm definitely bringing a sheet to lay on the large lawn of grass they have. 10/10 already wanna go again!

Great place to bring the kiddos! Parking is tight and if you find one under the sun guard grab it! Just wish it was bigger! The aquarium is pretty small, you will walk around the place under 10 minutes, Unless you stop and take pictures. A lot of sea creatures that I would not see unless I went to the aquarium. Great experience and I enjoyed it with my family.

Loved the shark area and the tunnel aquarium. The jelly fish aquarium is awesome! The otter area wasn't bad. Bottom floor is way better!!! We went on a good day and was able to touch a bottom feeder shatk and a baby sting ray. The sting ray pool is neat as well! The garden is always beautiful and part of the aquarium!! :) entry fee was reasonable. Over all definitely worth going too for a family outing. All was great!! Many things in the garden that was enjoyable! :)

I did not get to spend enough time here because I had to catch a flight, but the little amount of time I had, I loved it. I ate at the little cafe before I went into the aquarium. It was great and the aquarium was beautiful. I was blown away at how affordable this whole area is to get to the aquarium bulgarium and botanical gardens.

Great aquarium and worth visiting! It is a bit smaller than some aquariums but laid out well, clean and enjoyable. The otters were not cooperative today but the rest of the fish were beautiful😉. There is a gift shop and food place at the end, both fairly high priced. From the food cafe you can watch one of the tanks of fish.

Beautiful and some strange and BEAUTIFUL FISH. I added in the Botanical Garden also. They were both Soo relaxing, to do on this perfect day. I like how the aquarium let me into the restaurant when I was done. You have got to try the lavender lemonade with the edible choice of lime or lemon straw. The fries were really thin and delicious and the burger was really good. The Botanical garden is beautiful. There were people and families laid out on the grass. There were turtles in the water and more fish outside in the water. I love how there was plenty of benches to sit down when I was tired. The tiny little train village was cute and I love the cactus house. I would definitely recommend anyone and everyone to go here. It's great for families or if you want to just go by yourself, as I did. 💜💜💜

So much to see and do. One of the best nature complexes we've visited. The layout is clear and efficient. The conservatory showing comparisons with other deserts is really nice. Aquarium could require a full day by itself. Easy access from the ART transit for us walkers. Meet me at the model railroad.

Great place except there was too much construction. Not enough shade for the animals to be out. There needs to be misters so that it's somewhat tolerable to walk around and $7 for gatorade that's a little steep but besides that great family fun.

After many years, I finally came back to this amazing Aquarium and the beautiful Botanical Gardens on 19 Oct 2023. I purchased my ticket online, which was only $10 (the price for residents of New Mexico), for the time of 0900. I arrived just after opening (my ticket time), and left about 2.5 hours later. It was an easy and peaceful way to spend a few hours, as it wasn't terribly busy yet and the cool air made the Gardens exploration more comfortable. The only disappointments I had were: the individual whom scanned my ticket at the Garden entrance just after 1000, was not at all friendly and acted like my question was a major inconvenience; the Butterflies and Bees exhibit was closed; and a few different groups of people were having photos taken all over the Gardens, which took over some areas for various lengths of time until they were finally done. I love that there were Autumn and Halloween decorations throughout! It was a very festive and fun surprise. Experiencing the Bugarium for the first time was awesome! The Aquarium was filled with so many different and fascinating creatures, kept very clean (in the water and in the human areas, as well), and just how I remembered it. The guy whom scanned my ticket at the Aquarium entrance was so pleasant, which was a great way to start my visit. The trains in the Gardens are my favorite part. I had such a lovely Thursday morning at the ABQ Aquarium and Botanical Gardens, and cannot wait to go back.

Excellent Experience, worth every penny. While this aquarium is small, it has some Big time installations, particularly the last viewing tank, and the tunnel. Since it’s only $10 for residents and $14 for non residents, it really is impossible to beat. Also the aquarium pass includes a free entrance to the Botanic Garden, which alone is worth more than the entrance price. Great for children too, I can safely say you won’t regret visiting this.

The aquarium is not to big but I really enjoyed. I have been to aquariums in large cities like Denver and Houston, but Albuquerques was perfect for me. We went early on a Saturday afternoon. Not alot of people and was able to look at everything without it being crowded like the big cities. I recommend eating lunch while there the view inside the cafe is awesome since you can see one of the aquarium tanks. I might mention in Denver you pay big bucks for the same experience. The cafe is open to the public and you can go eat there anytime without paying for admittance, it would be a great place to take your family to eat. We didn’t visit the BioPark that day even though it is included with price of the aquarium, but will return to explore next time in Albuquerque.

The aquarium is decent for being located in the desert, but it is pretty small and kind of cramped. It does make for a nice quick trip to escape the weather for a bit, but the real reason to go is for the beautiful botanical gardens attached. The botanical garden space is huge and is great for an outdoor exploration day!

The Bio Park is very beautiful and it's peaceful and all the people that work there have always been kind. I have been to the bio park and never went through all the trails they are absolutely gorgeous and very peaceful. Easy to walk through, burned a lot of calories. In fact, I never knew they had so many trails there and a lot of things for children as well. Dinosaur feet a big dragon and all these nice caves for them to go through plus they have giant teapots and rulers and a sand cave that they can play in. I did not get a picture of the sand cave it's just a small little entryway where there's a lot of sand they have pails and little shovels for them there. People bring their events there they have Quinceaneras, weddings and anniversaries, very beautiful. They have them in the gardens.

Great place to spend a day or half day. The staff is very knowledgeable and love to answer any questions about the animals or Biopark. The new river otters are so fun to watch. There is a new underwater viewing area to view them. The facility is very clean.

Love coming here and bringing the kids everytime we come through Albuquerque! We go at the very least once a year. My ONLY complaint is that its just not long enough! But its always cool to go to the shark tank room and be able to see some of the same fish year after year.

Bought a BioPark Pass so, my daughter, wife and i went to check out the park on Memorial Day. We had a great time. Definitely going back.

We went here as part of our combo pass with the zoo and botanical gardens. It was great, but I'm not sure if I'd go here just on it's own, because there's not a ton to see. Watching them feed the fish, sharks, and stingrays was cool, but at the "touch tank" we weren't actually able to touch anything because all the things were on the bottom of the tank over in the back, and the workers didn't seem to have any ideas on how to get them to come over so they could be touched. My kids were disappointed about that. However, as part of the combo pass it was worth doing. My two boys LOVE trains, so getting to ride the train from the zoo to the aquarium and back was an adventure all by itself.

  • 4/5 Sandi W. 4 years ago on Google
Albuquerque has a small aquarium but it is still worth seeing and never crowded. The restaurant there is fun as you can view the large tank full of colorful fish, sharks, eels and turtles. Your entry fee gives you access to the Botanical gardens, which is also worthwhile, especially the orchids and flowers. There is a southwest greenhouse with every variety of cacti that is of special interest.

When traveling we always tour the local Aquarium as I have been a hobbyist since I was seven! 🐟🐠🐡It is well laid out with amazing displays, we loved the walk through reef tank and the 🦈 tank. One otter was out relaxing on a floating platform. We finished out tour with a nice glass of St. Claire wine sitting right beside the shark tank in the Reef restaurant. Thanks to the City of Albuquerque and all the staff supporting this amazing place. We will be back. 👍

This place is great, especially considering what other large cities offer. Nice variety of fish and things to see. Great views to see all the exhibits. Sometimes kids spend less than 30 mins other times an hour. be sure to check out the Botanic gardens, bugs, butterflies in the summer, fantasy garden and trains... So much to do. Annual Zoo/Aquarium membership is best value for frequent visitors.

  • 5/5 Kathrine H. 4 years ago on Google
The displays of aquatic life were amazing. There's a tunnel where the fish literally swim over you, and each tank was clean, informative, and beautiful. The jellyfish glowed, and I only wish we could've gotten there at a different time to be able to pet some of the fish. The gift shop had a million stuffed animals, gadgets, and trinkets you'd expect. Overall, it took about an hour to view the entire aquarium. The gardens were dead since we went in March, but I expect this summer they'll be beautiful.

*MUSEUM AT ITS BEST* One of the best and exciting tourist spot in darjeeling to be included in itinerary. Entry fees is Rs 50 person which includes both zoo and mountaineering museum. There are some mountaineering activities which are payable. Zoo is average, the best I liked is Red Panda & snow leopard. The most exciting is the mountaineering museum. This museum has the collection of all the equipments and machines used by different mountaineers in expeditions of the Mount Everest. There are so much information on Himalayas and mountains surrounding India you should not miss.

One of the best zoo's that have come across in India. Open enclosure for the animals was key plus point with some different species of wild life can be seen here like the Red Panda, Snow Leopard..etc. Highly recommended

I loved it. I was curious to see the red pandas. I felt pity for the monkeys as I felt that they were shivering in cold. I enjoyed how the bear was walking and one will get to see black panther here. Toilets for both men and women were very clean. There was one shop inside where one can seat and have tea and snacks its very cheap and reasonable.

  • 5/5 Deepak J. 3 years ago on Google
Very few animals but the place has a historical significance as it was first Indian zoo built on a hill. As obvious, natural fauna & flora around adds to the beauty and keeps photographers busy. My personal favourite was the red panda, also my first sight of a Panda.

Must visit Zoo when in Darjeeling. It has nice natural environment for all the birds and animals. The Bengal Tiger, Wolf, Leopard, Panther, Bear and Red Panda are the highlights. There are good variety of birds too. They also have a Himalayan Museum inside the zoo and lot of paid activities which can be enjoyed like zip line, rock climbing etc. Good for all age groups.

  • 5/5 Supriyo H. 3 years ago on Google
This Zoo will give you a real feel of Hill Zoo with Himalayan Faunas. Some specials animals you will find there like Red Panda, White Wolf, Black Panther etc. those are not available in other zoos of plainland city. It has also a Royal Bengal Tiger, Bear, Deer, Snake, Crocodile, Birds and many more. You get a real feel of Hill Zoo. This is must visit lace if your are in Darjeeling.

The zoo is awesome and nicely maintained. Animals in the zoo can be viewed properly due to well planned paths and observation points. Best things about zoo is Samrat - the great bengal tiger. Entry fees is Rs.60

Our sons very 1st time visiting. So happy it was not too crowded. Everyone inside had masks on which was great!

Always a great place to visit. Our granddaughter enjoyed herself. Her 1st visit but won't be her last. Shark Reef Cafe was wonderful. Albuquerque has a wonderful aquarium.

  • 5/5 Lisa P. 2 years ago on Google
We had a great time! The tickets were very reasonable. We arrived early and we're the first visitors inside. Definitely worth it! My husband and I saw everything relatively quickly but also weren't hassled with lots of other people crowding our space. It was a great experience!

I love the place as far as people go it is a hit or miss. The employees are great but humans in general crowd the shark viewing area and don't know about personal space. Parents not watching their kids or just walk in the middle of the path. Once again its humans that are the worst, the flowers, exhibits, butterfly garden and so on are always fun and amazing. The employees are helpful and knowledgeable about their respective duties, will come back year and year. Bring your hat, water and strollers to have a more enjoyable experience. Lots of shade and places to sit, restrooms and snacks are available.

Had a great time at the Aquarium! The building has a layout that guides you through all the exhibits without people crowding on each other. There are stands with education on the animals, their environment, and how we can protect them. The otters in particular have interactive stands where you can learn about them, and there's both an above water and underwater viewing area (sadly, the otters were not out when we visited). There is a display about oil spills, and plastic in the waterways. Many good places to sit and view the animals go about their day in their tanks, which is very relaxing. Wonderful moon jelly exhibit, and the hall of fish really let's you see how big some of them are!

We visited the aquarium and botanical garden today. The boys (2 years and 1 year old) loved it! Great assortment of plants and fish. I just wish there was more opportunity to purchase drinks (water, lemonade juice etc). Also, did you notice the good size porcupine sleeping above the ceremonial garden?

  • 5/5 Chris J. 2 years ago on Google
Really great small aquarium. Good selections showing different aquarium environments. Really good variety for the size. Otters and indoor tide pool rays are the entry highlights. Ends with a really large tank with sharks and other large fish

  • 5/5 James M. W. 2 years ago on Google
Make no mistake, the Aquarium is not large. However, for its size Albuquerque has done a great job of utilizing space and showing a wide variety of aquatic life. It should also be noted that the biopark also includes entrance to the botanic gardens full of displays. This is a perfect place to stroll with young members of the family!

  • 5/5 AJ L. 2 years ago on Google
The aquarium portion of this BioPark location was a bit smaller than expected, but the exhibits were well organized and the shark tank was very cool! 🦈 Included with your aquarium ticket was a receipt that got you access to the botanical gardens on the same property...neat place! The children's fantasy garden was whimsical and fun, plus there are lots of other themed gardens to check out!

Since I was little I loved this place and I've been taking my now teenage daughter since she was a tiny bambina in a stroller! So glad to have an aquarium in NM and yes it's small but it has many animals to view and beautiful tanks ! Oh we LOVED the new Otter exhibit!! SO CUTE!

  • 5/5 VTCP C. 2 years ago on Google
We really like this aquarium. It has many kinds of fish 🐟 🐠 A good place to bring kids. The ticket is reasonable price too. We have annual pass so it's very worth it.

  • 5/5 Kay W. 2 years ago on Google
Awesome little aquarium to visit! They have a good variety of fish and other animals, it is on the smaller side but it is attached to the Botanical gardens which is included in the same ticket so it is definitely worth it! They have a great cafe as well where you can find snacks and sandwiches. They also have interesting lemonades such as lavender and a coconut one as well as great cotton candy! I would definitely recommend touring the garden first then coming to the aquarium especially if you are here in summer so you can stop in the cool air inside last and have a cold lemonade in the Shark Reef Cafe with its awesome gigantic fish tank with sharks in it before you go!

  • 4/5 Jenna B. 2 years ago on Google
Awesome! Smaller than expected, in about 30 minutes you could probably see everything. :) It’s really cool seeing the sharks up close, and I loved the cute otters. We went late after rushing from the zoo, and so we only had 30 minutes before closing, so we missed out on the nature bit, (due to the staff saying they close 30 minutes before close time, “so people don’t stay past the time”). However, they were nice enough to let us see the aquarium, as we arrived right at the 30 minute mark. Appreciated the friendly staff!

Very beautiful during the river of lights event. Had plenty of decorations for the amount of time we were allotted. Very well kept and workers are polite. Plenty of indoor areas and bathrooms. Plenty of benches for when you get tired or need to take a seat.

This is a review of the River of Lights 2021 specifically. It's an outstanding experience overall. Takes a few hours but can be done quicker. Very impressive array of Lights during the holidays. Hot drinks are available, even alcoholic drinks. Popcorn, cheese and pretzels, doughnuts are also available. Food and drink selections are ok and could get a fifth star. It was cold the night we went so bundle up. Parking was available. $15 per adult and our kids were young enough to be be free. Under two. Several different areas with themes. Lots of butterflies, dragonflies, dinosaurs, insects, animals of all sorts. One tip, take the route around the long lines on Rio Grande and Central. It's a neighborhood route that starts at the entrance to old Town. Ends up at the entrance.

It was my first time experiencing this aquarium and it was alright, but I’ve been to better in the states. The theater was closed so please be aware of that from an experience perspective. It’s an okay option for kids but it’s a bit small in my opinion.

  • 4/5 Jacob K. 1 year ago on Google
Nice aquarium, it is kind of small but very worth the stop. I was impressed with the shark viewing area. The ticket from the botanical gardens gets you in here and that place is awesome, so you might as well stop here as well.

Today was so much fun.... We went on June 12,2023. The employee's were so much fun.had such good energy..as you first come in. They have a guy with a booth. And a game. The game was so much fun... So the object of the game is to find the animal that goes with the habit. It belongs. The OTTERS WERE showing off in the otter pool. DAISY MAYHEM AND CHAOS.. THEY HAVE 3.

My kids love this place. We go every summer. The Bug area is really cool. They enjoy watching the sharks. There's an area in the garden with trains and benches. The kids favorite part was the ant area where the model vegetables are huge. My youngest sat on the metal ant, it's like Honey I Shurnk the Kids.

This is a small, well put together aquarium. They have all types of sea life on display. It was a very enjoyable visit.

  • 5/5 Laurie K. 10 months ago on Google
We've been visiting this aquarium a few times over the last 25 years. The variety and presentation is great! Viewing the marine life here made a big impression on both of my kids, now grown but still wanting to go back. The staff (volunteers?) were knowledgeable and friendly. I was thrilled to touch a shark and a ray! And the entrance fee also gets you into the beautiful gardens, which are a short walk away.

What a great day. My wife and I spent the morning here. Great time of year the flowers were all blooming. So peaceful and inexpensive way to spend time with each other. The addition of the Japanese garden is by far my favorite place there.

Love this place. It's nice and cool inside on HOT summer days. Affordable. Bring a cooler for a picnic and nice, cool drinks. A regular sized Gatorade is $7.00.

I love the ABQ Aquarium! I've gone dozens of times and it never gets old. I appreciate that the aquarium updates their exhibit as well. I recommend getting the ABQ Aquarium and Botanical Gardens ticket set, so that you can enjoy both places in one visit!

  • 4/5 Jori V. 6 months ago on Google
This was my first time going to the park and I went with my four-month-old little girl. It was so much fun watching her experience everything for the first time, everything felt new and exciting. We did both the aquarium and the botanical garden, she fought her nap the whole time while taking it all in. I'd definitely recommend bringing your little ones if you're looking for something fun to do. Just maybe not on a midsummer's day, it got too humid and warm to finish walking the gardens but that's nothing against the park, it just means there's more to explore next time I go.

  • 2/5 Stephanie N. 7 months ago on Google
So small!! You can finish the experience in like 10 mins!!! The only thing I loved was the otters!!! The line to touch the fish was ridiculously long and slow. It was okay as we did the add-on with the zoo experience but would not have paid to go there on its own.

  • 4/5 Manny O. 2 months ago on Google New
Aquarium was clean. Not busy at all, but I visited on a weekday. It is small, but included with the visit is a pass to the botanical gardens. With that included, you can make it a 2 hour visit. With the aquarium alone, 15 - 20 minute visit.
