Tanks are nasty, whole place is covered in dirt and grime. Animals are clearly not well cared for. Tiny little enclosures. Not many workers maning the areas so snotty nose little kids just sticking their hands in and poking away, which could potentially harm the animals or cause them emotional distress. The place was just packed with people. They should be shut down and their animals given to a zoo or somewhere that would actually care for them. And, this hot mess of an establishment took 30 mins to walk through. It costs more than the zoo, where you can spend an entire day. Ashamed to have even visited.

I actually disappointed!! Nothing like the Website at all! Tanks were dirty and Dingy looking!! The Scuba tank looked awful! I thought about it but there is no way I would get in it. Most of the animals were sleeping. We spent extra for tokens that we basically couldn't use!! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!!

Very fun for my 10 year old she loved it. Not busy on a Monday. Staff was very friendly. A little pricey but still fun just to see the smile on my daughter's face. Make sure to buy the tokens as they are used to feed animals and get into most of the enclosures to pet the animals. We got 15 tokens and used them all do to my daughter wanting to go in and feed the sloth. (10 tokens a person) but she really enjoyed it. We will be back for sure.

BEWARE It’s not what it once was. We once went during the pandemic 😷 wore masks, got to pet many animals and had a fantastic time. Bought a few coins to play with the birds and really enjoyed ourselves. It has since changed DRAMATICALLY! You pay for a ticket (and it’s not cheap) and that’s basically to just look at the animals from afar now. If you want to touch you’ll need to buy tokens. Each token is nearly $2 each. Want food to feed an animal? You’ll doing it from a vending machine- $2! It’s NUTS. WE WENT ON A FRIDAY BEFORE SCHOOL WAS RELEASED, There was not enough staff to pet the animals when we did buy the coins to touch and feed them. We waited 15 min to get in the aviary. I am NOT a complainer ever but I had to share this in hopes that they will 1-clean up this location (hire a cleaning crew to come in once a week for a deep clean) 2- hire enough staff for this location and 3-make it an enjoyable experience for families that just paid the entry fee. People shouldn’t have to pay an additional 25$ for coins or more to pet and feed the animals.

SeaQuest, a captivating family destination, immerses visitors in an aquatic adventure across two floors. The diverse fish species and interactive feeding experiences, including both fish and birds, make it engaging for all ages. The token system adds responsibility and structure, enhancing the overall experience. With an accessible layout to prevent overcrowding, SeaQuest ensures a relaxed exploration for families. Occasional online deals further enhance affordability, catering to budget-conscious visitors. This strategic approach aligns with SeaQuest's commitment to providing an enriching yet economically sensible outing for families.

I took my 14-year-old nephew for his birthday. It was a Saturday and we waited in line for about 25 minutes; totally acceptable. It was crowded, so we were prepared for that, lots of kids everywhere and some waiting to be able to see stuff. But that’s ok, we had all afternoon. I have to say, though, most of the tanks were very cloudy. There was random stuff just laying out that was clearly not part of an exhibit. The sloth wasn’t in its enclosure at all (one of the marketing tools on all the literature). There were way too many individuals in the freshwater tank (trout/sturgeon). The tortoises just don’t have enough space. It made me sad. There is part of the big tank with the sharks that is immersive; like a little cubby with water all around you. It had apparently leaked and there was water on the floor of it and it was closed; understandable but it looked so shabby and like no one cares. The other major problem I had with this place is that there isn’t enough species information. I know not everybody cares what every fish’s name is, but some of us do (me). There is also no information posted on personal experiences. There were points where I looked around to see if there were any opportunities to add touch-and-feel type things as we got our tickets free online, something to make our a day a little more personal, but there was nothing posted anywhere but the entrance. I would just really like more information, period. We saw some really cool stuff (loved the koi swarms! Moray eels, horseshoe crabs, sharks, parrotfish, triggerfish, unicorn fish, etc) but in all, it was disappointing. I just wish the animals had more space and were better cared for.

My 7 year old son experienced Snorkeling with Stingrays $69.99. He loved it. He also did Fishy Kisses, where he puts his feet inside the fish tank. He got to pet the tortoise 🐢 and feed the iguanas and koi fish. The highlight of this visit was touching a stingray while snorkeling. He gave it two thumbs👍👍 up and would definitely do it again. Friendly staff. The staff answered our questions, and we learned that the lizard wasn't dead!!💀 It was just sleeping! 😴 Clean restrooms. 🚻

It was not amazing for the price - then if you wanted to do any of the “experiences” it was even more money. The kids had fun but there is better places to go

We enjoyed our time with Sea Quest. Recommend coming with enough money to do a couple pettings or something like that. Definitely will be watching for deals to come again.

It's a great opportunity to get up close with animals. Tokens are not just for purchasing animal food, but you can trade them with the mermaid for a gift or exchange some for "fishy kisses". To my daughter there and we had a great time. Look online for promo codes. We got in for free.

Christian was knowledgeable and friendly when he facilitated our interactions with Tina & Louise the small clawed otters, Honey the kinkajou, Wanda the porcupine and Duke the keel-billed toucan! The rest of the facility was huge and housed so many different animals that could be hand-fed for a token. Highly recommend!

A must visit place! The staff was great, knowledgeable and friendly explaining about the animals you're interacting with willing to answer questions you have. Swimming and hand feeding the stingray and sharks was worth the cost and a lifetime memory and experience my son will have. Amazing day out to spend with your family

Random assortment of lethargic creatures crammed into a space that was not only too small for them, but also for the visitors. Had free tickets and it still wasn’t worth it. I don’t understand why this place is getting good reviews, but if you’re reading here as part of making a decision about whether or not to go, just don’t. Even if you get the free ticket deal. Invest your time and money into an animal experience where the signs around every corner tell you something about the animals and not just how many tokens you need for the next forced animal encounter. Seriously, watched staff spend about 20 minutes attempting to get a hiding creature out of its habitat, only to have it curled into a ball for the whole “show and tell.” That says to me that staff lack expertise (and perhaps empathy) in working with these creatures.

This place needs to be shut down. I took my niece and nephew there years ago and never went back. It was awful to see the animals so stressed and shut down. Not being able to see the light of day. It’s profit over animals and people’s safety. If you’re considering going, I would check out the recent news article on KSTP that just posted.

Loved it! All three of my kids (ages 10, 6, 2) enjoyed it. We spent two hours there! It is just as fun as Sea Life in the Mall of America, and quite a bit cheaper. We bought 14 tokens ($20) in addition to the entrance fees, and it was more than enough. You just need to prep your kids that you won’t feed every animal. There are fun photo spots, and a nice gift shop (of course!).

I have been here twice and the staff have been nothing but professional, courteous and engaging. We had an issue on our first visit that they fixed immediately. I also saw them interact with a grumpy customer and maintained complete professionalism. Check this place out and get annual passes if you can. The interactions are amazing and you get a good amount of time interacting and learning.

A great place where you can take your kids or family to interact with animals. Buying tickets online will help you get in faster. Interactions do cost tokens/money. They have tons of interactions from feeding fish to getting to swim with stingrays (depends on what you buy). As an animal lover, some enclosures could be better... but it's in a mall. They have a little gift shop at the end of your experience.

Reserved the party room for our daughter's 5th birthday. Everything was set up and ready to go, and the staff was super helpful and friendly. Small snag with the Mermaid interaction (it ended up being way later than scheduled so most of the kiddos were gone), but she was an awesome entertainer and we all had a great time. The personal animal interaction was great, too!

Staff was kind and knowledgeable. Price wise it's rather expensive depending if you want to touch the animals and for how long you get to hold them. It is also very expensive to pay for the food to feed animals. The animals themselves are great and fun

We had an amazing time with Alisha as our Epic tour guide! Our experience was wonderful because of our guide!! She made the animal encounters, enjoyable, shared fun facts, and clearly communicated the expectation of being in the animal enclosures. (Basically what to do and not to do). She was extremely patient and handled our group of small children well!!! thank you!!!!

If I could give zero stars I would. We got free tickets from the Roseville Santa experience and my boys wanted to go. The cages were disgusting, the aquarium was leaking and too small for the fish, sharks, stingrays, etc. The animals looked so sad. We left feeling extremely depressed. This place needs to be shut down.

First time here and it was so fun! We brought a 9 year old and she loved all the interactive things. They also have some really fun experiences that have to be booked before hand, but will certainly bring us back. A bonus: if you are an educator, show your badge and your family gets in for free!

As an aquarium, this place actually doesn't have as many varieties as other places do, but it does offer very unique opportunities for the kids to interact with the animals. There are a couple of very cute land animals such as giant rabbits and iguanas in addition to the sea animals. Our kids really liked all the interactions and had a lot of fun! The only downside is that you will need to purchase "tokens" on top of the admission fee to get animals' snacks in order to interact with them.

Fun time for a family. We spent a few hours viewing and feeding the animals. They have a lot of fish and a small petting zoo. The parakeets weren't eating when we were there but it was fun to go in the cage and see them. I would recommend for children 10 and under.

Very hands on for kids. The grands loved it. I was a little disappointed in signage. Wrong signs on some animals, no signage on others. The 'animal whisperers' were very knowledgeable and patient and friendly.

The tokens for the interactions with the animals can get spendy but worth it when I saw the looks on my children's faces. Staff was very welcoming and kind. I think our interaction with the birds was my favorite one.

Great way to keep kiddos entertained over break. Can feed lots of animals and have one on one interactions with certain animals. We’ll be back to hang with the otters. Manager Steve was so friendly, making sure our visit was perfect. Staff very friendly and attentive during busy busy day. Great experience at Sea Quest and our son had the best time.

Was an OK aquarium. We have been to many, so that might be why it didn't wow us. I did see some fish I had never seen before. I really liked the feeding options. We haven't seen that at other places. It's probably great with little kids, but for adults and our 11 year old it just seemed small.

Exciting time for the kids and the adults. I recommend feeding the caymen and getting close and personal with the iguanas. We did the stingray and shark snorkeling experience. The staff member helping us with this adventure, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. We had an incredible time as a family and interacted with so many new animals we had never gotten fo experience like this before. We all learned something at SeaQuest. And cannot wait to return! Hooks and benches could be added to the restrooms for those snorkeling. But we made it work with our towels on the floor as it was quite wet in the restroom after snorkeling. And that's understandable. I used the changing table for my things. A small table or some wall hooks would have been a big help. Still the best experience ever. My son won't stop talking about every species of shark he swam with that day!

Our first visit and we are excited to come back again! We did a safari experience and were able to be shown around but many staff but our main one was "Opossum"- they gave us up close and personal visits with the animals. We were a little concerned after reading some reviews that said the animals were kept in unhealthy and dirty areas but we did not see it that way! In my photos you can see the tanks were even so clean you practically couldn't tell there was water in them! One of the highlights of our experience was feeding the kookaburra and listening to her sing. We were also able to feed the parakeets and give Dusty the cockatoo some cuddles. Pigs, bangel cats, bearded dragon and not to mention TONS of fish! We were able to spend about 3 hours at Seaquest and could have stayed longer reading and exploring. They also have a nice gift shop at the end. Thank you Opossum and team for making our day special!

I went with two of my friends (we are college students) and I want to point out that it was fun for us, even though we aren’t children. Feeding the variety of fish and exploring the upper and lower levels was fun. I was able to pet some of the fish and the lizard. I will say that some of the animal enclosures don’t seem nearly large enough. There are two wallaby's with hardly enough space to run around, and some of the snake enclosures were not large enough for the snakes to stretch their full body. I also fear that the emerald tree python could develop scale rot from how much direct mist was pouring on him. It was a very cute and fun place to visit overall, but I would agree with some of the other reviews in having enclosures cleaned more thoroughly and often as well as hiring more staff since there was only one person trained to take people into the interactions on a Sunday afternoon.

Good place for kids of all ages. The whole token coin thing is a nifty idea but I ended up with tons of tokens that I didn't really use. The parakeet is a nice add on. The workers there are helpful friendly and compassionate about the animals. Expensive, but a good experience for kids to see again and again.

Super small fish tanks, many were cloudy, unclean and crowded with fish. The poor land animals all need bigger tanks and their smell is almost unbearable. We used both a military discount and 25% off and I still felt like we didn't get our money's worth, which is sad. Their feeding machines only take tokens and give tiny amounts of food for the animals. I gave them three stars because of their fishy kiss experience. It was $16.10 ($19.99 less 25$). After waiting nearly 20 minutes for an employee. We cleaned our feet, dipped them into a small tank and medium sized fish sucked our feet. It was such a weird, fun, unique experience. Take fun friends and make the most of it-if you are bored on a rainy day.

My one year old had a lot of fun. She loved looking at all the animals and fish. I thought there would be more animal interactions but I didn't see many workers to help with that and there were signs up saying they'd be back in a half hour. We had no wait to get in and it wasn't too busy. A lot of the bigger animals were napping. There was a weird body odor smell once we got downstairs. I might've been a little disappointed if I paid to get in but we had free tickets and it was good overall.

We had a blast yesterday taking part in the feeding and handling of the animals! We were pretty skeptical as we were walking up. We'd been to zoos and conservation areas where the habitat didn't feel spacious enough for the animals, but it seems like the animals are very happy and love the enrichment that's available. Two of four traveled in to the area and they were kind enough to move our party around so that we could all do it together, as we were late. Martha was incredible. She was our guide for the day and seemed to love making the visitors feel very welcome and the animals happy. We had some questions that she or the rest of the team was readily available to answer! If I'm in the cities again, I'd love to swing through.

I had an absolutely amazing time with my sister and her kids. We were able to learn and meet so many species that we would never get to experience. Our tour guide, Samantha, was a huge part of why we were able to thoroughly enjoy ourselves and feel comfortable. She had so much knowledge and was very obviously happy with what she was doing. We were able to do swimming with sharks the guide Garrett. He was very charming, funny, and knowledgeable as well. He was also very patient with our very crazy family in the water. Every worker I encountered had a smile on their face and were very helpful whenever needed. I would very much recommend SeaQuest as a great day out or even to see a few cool animals for a couple hours. The animals are very clearly happy, and being taken care of. Thank you guys for making a great memory for my family and I !

There were 2 adults and 5 kiddos in our group and everyone was in Awe walking in. The kids were so excited they didn’t know where they wanted to begin. The staff was great in providing direction, informing us of all the interactions that were available and were helpful in answering questions about the animals that the two curious boys we had with us were so eager to know. We can’t wait to go back. The kids still talk about it and this was almost a year ago.

This was the bestest place ever!!! I would suggest getting a season pass to SeaQuest rather than the Minnesota zoo. My favorite part is that you are interactive or you're able to be interactive with almost all of the animals! You buy tokens to feed them or the staff takes them out for you to hold them, it was the most fun couple of hours with the kiddos! I as an adult had just as much fun, maybe more even! Was my first time going and it was amazing! With COVID I think they only let in 50 people at a time so you don't have to fight through crowds to get close to things or pet things or hold things, also you don't have to be close to other people if you don't want to be. The staff was incredibly accommodating as well.

  • 3/5 AJ C. 3 years ago on Google
There are definitely fun activities and displays to look at. The kids had a great time. We didn’t really know what we were walking in to though. Buying the admission they didn’t really explain anything, that there are displays you can walk in to and pet. Also did not inform that on top of admission you should buy tokens for feeding animals. 4 dollars to get 5 nuggets to feed an otter is a bit expensive. It was difficult and random to find staff to open up the exhibits to pet the animals. Staff we did encounter were very pleasant. I would do it once for children but not again.

  • 5/5 Brandi R. 3 years ago on Google
The employees are really friendly and knowledgeable. They made the experience fun with allowing us to feed and pet most the animals. The exhibits are clean and spaced out enough for social distancing. I will definitely bring my family back here.

  • 1/5 Chloe M. 3 years ago on Google
We paid for the otter experience- don't waste your money. 40 dollars for 6 minutes of being slightly closer but still separated by glass is not worth it. Especially not with the rude staff who was in charge of the encounter. Definitely don't waste money on the feeding tokens either. It really isn't worth it. The only plus wad being able to be refunded for my wasted time.

We love this place!! Been here twice and will be back many more times! Well worth the price of admission! Edited to add: I just read some of the 1 star reviews and people saying terrible things about the animals health and conditions, and I could not disagree more. I have told family and friends that the animals at Sea Quest seem way happier than the animals at traditional zoos. I always think zoo animals look bored and lazy, but at Sea Quest animals come right up to you and seem happy to interact (with or without having food for them). I also think that individual experiences may vary based on how busy it is. When it was busier, it was a little stressful. But when it wasn't busy, it was an absolute blast! I recommend going right away when they open on a weekday.

We bought a family membership before Covid hit. We had a nicu baby so the membership during flu season went unused then Covid shut down. We used the pass once and haven’t since we cannot risk going. They refused to pause the membership till we can actually use our passes. Wasted a lot of money we could’ve used this year.

I absolutely this place. My boyfriend and I went as a valentines day date and had so much fun. Such a wide variety of animals. Not just sea animals. You're able to pet and hang out with most of them! You can buy coins to feed them as well. Its so interactive and fun!

Love this place. We usually go during the week and love that it's not crowded. We have a yearly family membership and love the staff and perks. This past visit, we had the pleasure of going into the visiting area with the animals. The kids enjoy it every time and always asks to come back.

This is our second time coming here in two weeks (2 hours away) and we’ll be back! First time we walked in and today there was a line but once we got in there was so much room and I was shocked and how easy it still was to see and experience the animals! Such an awesome place!!! The staff are friendly and you can tell care about the animals! So much fun!!

  • 5/5 Jon M. 3 years ago on Google
My family went with the VIP package and absolutely loved it! The otter encounter left a bit to be desired, but still worth it. It's more than worth buying the extra tokens to interact with the animals. All the animals were active and enjoyed interaction.

Our two girls and adults loved it! It’s so much more than a “Sea” quest. 2 floors and first floor has so many animals, not just sea creatures! We loved being right next to each animal and interacting. Pigs, turtles, rabbits, birds, snakes it was a blast!!! Martha, an employee, was the sweetest thing, helping girls warm up to animals and learn about them! She was just the best!!! Our 2 yr old loved seeing a real live mermaid;) the archer fish were a hit, so funny seeing them squirt water at the food! Highly recommended, for sure we will be going back!

This is our second time coming and I will for sure be back!! I got to hold Jellybean the milk snake and it was so great in helping me get over my fears with my snake at home. The professionals were so kind and great with letting me interact with her and asking me questions about my own snake. I would DEFINITELY recommend coming!

First time being there yesterday. Everything was super COVID safe which was huge for my family. We were excited that the kids were able to pet so many animals. One of the workers, Martha, was wonderful. She went out of her way to make the experience wonderful for my kids. She was knowledgeable about all of the animals and showed us so many! We wish we could hire her for our private tour guide lol. Great experience! Definitely can’t wait to go back

SeaQuest is a cute little place that has sea creatures, and other animals. I really liked that it was interactive and that you are able to feed the animals, as well as touch/hold some of them. My kids really enjoyed it, and their favorite part was the mermaid.

It was our first time visiting SeaQuest so I had mentioned that to the front desk lady and asked her to give me some general information about SeaQuest. She grabbed the stand with the admission and pricing and handed it to me. That was probably an easy way of providing me with some of the information but it would have been nice if she talked me through it. I may have been interested in purchasing an annual pass, a birthday package, or other extra “experiences” but since there was little to no communication I decided to just let that go. Not to mention, a greeting would have been appreciated. General admission was reasonable but the cost of tokens for feedings/holdings was overpriced. Several exhibits and many opportunities to interact with animals; however, there weren’t enough employees to handle all of the attractions so we did not get to do some of the feedings and holdings. All in all, my children really enjoyed it and had a fun experience.

The only thing is it was understaffed. The parakeet Avery was awesome! Was fun to pet some animals. Fish aquariums were cool!

  • 5/5 Justin S. 1 year ago on Google
Worth a visit ! Love it love it love it !I don’t mind the price of this nice little nice aquarium! They need the fund for operation ! The animals are lovely ! The girls working here are super nice and friendly ! I just wish the food sold for the animals here are not so scarce ! So the acorn food purchased for the animals here are like including only three or four little tiny shrimp . The food doesn’t worth the money ! I don’t mind spending money on the animals I just wish the food I purchased should be more than three little shrimp . Other than that , it is a perfect nice place to drop a visit ! Don’t miss the chance feeding the stingray ! They are super smart and friendly ! There is a shallow pond you can touch too ! Don’t miss it !

Odd but intriguing place. Odd because it’s in a mall and called Seaquest, but it also has a variety of reptiles, birds and other non-sea animals. Pretty cool place for the kids, interactive and just the right size so they don’t get bored. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. The only area I don’t like is the bird part- but that’s probably because I don’t like birds to begin with. Check this place out on a rainy day, you won’t be disappointed.

We ALMOST didn't go because of the more recent, "bad" reviews.... but we're SO GLAD WE DID!!! We had a very nice experience!!! There was a short wait to get in, but after that there was really no waiting. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, the animal interactions were wonderful. The otters were the smelliest critters, but not more than what I would have expected. It was clean and safe. We would highly recommend and we would definitely go again!! Thank you SeaQuest!

  • 4/5 S. S. 1 year ago on Google
It was okay. The line was long at 11 am and the ticketing portion is poorly run. There should be a line for those who purchased tickets online. The aquarium itself is decent in size, not as large as MOA but not as crowded. My kids liked that they could feed and touch certain animals, although it seemed like every animal interaction was closed, which was not great. Overall, the customers and the fact that all animal interactions were closed made the experience not 5 star worthy.

  • 4/5 Amanda N. 1 year ago on Google
Although there definitely could be some updating and maintenance things done, we had a wonderful time, and it's very affordable! The staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. We enjoyed it enough to get an annual pass, so we will definitely be back often!

So far, this was a highlight of our summer! The staff was sooo helpful and friendly and seemed to want and loved to be there. I have older kids that have never really loved zoos, but THIS, they LOVED. It is so interactive. We HIGHLY recommend the sting ray snorkeling as well. You even get to be in the tank with sharks!

A friend and I took our combined six kids here midweek and had a fabulous time. The employees went above and beyond to make sure our visit was amazing. The young lady working the front desk was delightful even while telling us our tickets were not going to be honored (not her fault and made sense) and really helped us out. The people working inside went out of their way to show our kids the animals and be friendly and positive in general. Definitely recommend visiting.

Super cool place located inside a mall. They have a variety of different animals that look well taken care of. It was super busy, so make sure to get there early and even if you are early, you may still have to wait in line.

  • 5/5 Sylvia H. 7 months ago on Google
My daughter, husband and I brought my granddaughter and she had a lot of fun. We did the otter encounter and we got to have an otter touch the top of our hands and feed them. There was a lot of left over fish so my granddaughter was able to feed them many times. She loved feeding the fish, especially when they jumped out of the water and splashed her. (You have to purchase the tokens to put in the machines to get food.) A couple times the machines did not give any food so that needs to be fixed. She enjoyed petting the largest tortoise they have, Norman. We were able to feed the iguanas. They were so sweet and loved to be pet on their heads and necks. They have a variety of fish and sharks. They have a room full of parakeets that you can go in and have the birds all around you. We did this our first visit. They also have an eel. This is our second visit and I'm sure we will go again.

Get the VIP package it is totally worth it, but if you go general admission it’s great. Never knew they were there but now I am glad it was discovered. Want some Winter party or family fun ideas, this is a great one. My 8 year old to my 17 year old loved it, us adults too. Friendlies staff imaginable also.

I went here with my son and found the prices reasonable and had a fun time feeding the fish and chopping up squid to feed the sharks. Samantha was especially helpful guiding us through to see all the unique animals. 10/10 would take my son again!

We had a great time visiting today for our homeschool field trip. Animal whisperer, Martha, was exceptional and went out of her way to not only give an informative tour, but spent extra time with my children to allow them to ask an abundance of questions and even brought out the CUTEST sugar gliders to feed and pet. What a great day!
