Oasis hidden in Stony Hill. Definitely worth visiting. Wear shoes for the small hike to the falls, and bring mosquito repellent because they can be vicious.

It was easy to find once off the main but road is best with 4 wheel drive or high vehicle. Condition of road bad. Then a 10 mins walk to the falls was quite a work out.. but once there it is amazing. Small pool of water, not much swimming can be done. High falls with a lil space to sit or stand under it. $500 to enter. Can take food n drinks or can cook ther..

A really nice waterfall in St Andrew. The road is really bad but not long and totally worth it. There's parking outside the primary school and if you take a left from there it's a 15 minute hike to the falls. If you take right, its a 15 minute hike to heritage dam. The falls are gorgeous, however, if never seen so many mosquitoes in my life, I could swear they were biting under the water too. So definitely bring bug repellent and/ or set a fire to scare them away.

Talk about an oasis! This hidden waterfall is so beautiful located in stony hill. The hike is about 10-15 minutes based on your endurance the trail is pretty clear. Prepare for extreme cold water 🥶🥶 but it’s absolutely refreshing. Pro tip: “Nuh dutty up Jamaica” Please take garbage bags and bring the garbage back with you. It’s not an attraction being kept by anyone so clean up after yourself.

The place is amazing and the water is cold! Firstly, ensure you have on repellent because those mosquitoes will eat you up! Do not drive a low car it can not manage the road, if you do you’ll have to park at the church then walk down to the primary school. Entry is on the left through the gate. It’s a 10-15 minutes hike, wear proper footwear (non slip if possible). Go hold a vibe and enjoy yourself.

The road going up to the trail entrance is very perilous and steep, but it's absolutely worth it. The hike itself is not difficult at all and a few members of our group in their mid 60s were able to complete it easily. Definitely makes me feel one with nature here, and if you can go during a time when it's not busy it's a treat.

It took a long time to get there. The GPS first said we were 9 minutes away and then said 15 minutes. The roads aren't good and as you get farther it doesn't feel like a road anymore. When we got there we saw a tourist who pointed to where the falls are. She told us 10 minutes. You have to be careful because it's full of rocks and you have to do a little climbing. Any sudden slip you can fall over and hurt yourself. The water is pretty cold. There was no one there when we went. A few more signs pointing to where the falls are would be helpful.

This was beyond my expectations.. i was not aware we have such a natural water fall with sweet water in surrounded in the forest, just at 1 hour distance from Barbican. Its a 40 minutes drive from Barbican upto the School where you park and from that point its 20 minutes walk trail up in forest which leads directly to the Fall. Amazing one day activity... and to add to my review on my second trip i realized you can trail 5 minutes down through same parking site and you arrive at amazing and peaceful head of water reservoir ❤.. just see new clicks from my recent revisit

A very natural place to visit. Not so far from Kingston. One can enjoy an outer visit in a shorter distance from Kingston town.

This is in stony hill but the road to get there is quite a journey and really rocky. Once you get there, a lady greets you asking you to pay $500 to get in. She says it's a 10 minutes walk to the river but it's more than that😭Some part of the path is narrow, small and slippery so you have to be careful. Once you get there you are greeted with mosquitos lol, so carry your repellents. The river is cold and refreshing, but as you get closer to the waterfalls it gets deeper up to 8 feet.

AMAZING!!!!! But this water is COLD! but you’ll get use to it if you ain’t the Stushie type, however getting to it wasn’t so great for a low car the road is really bad and then you have to track your way into the forest to get to the fall (recommend wearing nonslip shoes or croc) but yow it’s worth it I tell you.

Mosquitoes are gonna tear you apart but it's worth all the trouble. It doesn't even feel like Jamaica anymore. It's a whole new world there. I wouldn't tell too many people about this place. I would rather it remain hard to find and mostly untouched. A treat for those who deserve it. Please keep this place clean. I hated to see garbage scattered about. Next time I'll bring a bag to help and clean up some of it.

Visited in June 2020: Beautiful waterfalls tucked away in the Stony Hill. Nice quiet secluded spot for a relaxing day by the falls. About 5-10minutes hike from the primary school there is a trail with signs so you don’t get lost. Bring repellant!! When I went I didn’t have to pay but thereafter some men started maintaining the hike trail so they charge $500JMD I believe as a donation. But it’s really worth it. Only 4 stars because mosquitoes were out in their numbers

Nature's beauty 🌲🌳🌾 💧at its best with no structures by man. AT THE FALLS: Very short climb on falls. 🤸‍♂️Dive from rock into the water at the falls. 🏊‍♀️Swim below the falls. Water kinda cold. 🚶‍♂️WALK TO THE FALLS: Listening to the wind rustling the trees🌳🌿 and the sound of the water below. Walk across a 8 foot long bamboo bridge. Cute. 😏 . An easy path takes 15 minute walk 🚶‍♂️or you can run 🏃‍♀️it. 🚗GETTING 🏍THERE: Go thru a few potholes on the road initially then the road gets better for most of it. (Recently paved) Cross a narrow bridge. If 🚘 car, not Suv, is low you may have some challenges going thru the concrete drains that cross the road. Road gets rough till u park infront of the school. If you carry food 😃🍉🍗 and stuff beg you don't leave any garbage🚮 there. Take it with you please

Up in the hills of nowhere in Kingston and St. Andrew lies this great secluded place that's peaceful and quiet, deep in the sanctuary or nature! Lord bless this place 🙏🏽... it's a nice place to escape the hassle and bussle of town and indulge in a short lil hike to get to a small peaceful escape! P.s. it's a short lil 10 mins hike after reaching the end of the road after driving.

Ideal atmosphere to stimulate your anticipation and curiosity. The 10-15 minutes hike through forest may deemed scary but proved to be very satisfying and entertaining. The water body is not deep or wide enough to facilitate excessive swimming but it was relaxing being in the frigid water. If you do like a little challenge you can swim through the waterfall, there is a small cave like structure beyond the falls that can accommodate up to 3 persons at once.

Beautiful, untouched. Tijani was a good guide. If you don't want a guide he doesn't need to follow you. It is definitely off the beaten path. If you're planning to go to view this treasure a SUV would be recommended but not required. Sneakers because the falls is about a 10 minutes walk from the school.

If you are feeling for a river flex but don’t want to travel out of Kingston this is a perfect place! Nice quiet river. Definitely worth the 10 minute trek from gate to falls. The road immediately leading to the falls is in need of significant repair so be cautious of that. But a worthwhile experience that I highly recommend!

Amazing scenery, approx 15 mins hike from the parking at the school. The trail entrance is by the metal gate on the left, it may seem locked but it isn't. Once on the path keep left, the path is a bit slippery in some places but worth it. NOTES: -The road stay bad! -There is some amount of broken glass at the falls, you might want to wear crocs or water shoes. -Bring NUFF repellent or god help you with the mosquitoes

👣 🇯🇲 Hiking to this falls from Bowden Hill All Age School will take roughly 10 minutes but dont worry, the time will go unnoticed. The trail itself fueled my anxiety and sparked my curiosity. Listening to the various sounds of nature will drown out all negativity as it brings you to a tranquil state of mind.

Loved the waterfall. However, if you don't like to hike. You won't like the hike to get there.

  • 5/5 Lacena 2 years ago on Google
Entry charge is $500 (I went Feb 2022) Nobody told me about the walk! But if you're traveling with the right people it won't matter. The water is COLD 🥶 but once you submerge your body adjusts eventually. The falls is BEAUTIFUL, The area is quiet and you can even "run a boat" down there, locals also fish from the river. I definitely recommend! If you're not fit, just breathe and take it on step by step and bring your own water cause your gonna need it! PLEASE KEEP THE FALLS CLEAN.

This really is a hidden gem. The community is very nice. You might have a little guide named Seajae (CJ) take you up to the falls. He's very nice and will point out all they are doing to develop the falls. There are a bunch of sandbags making a pool, they've built up the path, and planted palms. We'll def. be back

Very interesting drive up to the waterfall. The drive is better handled with 4 wheel drive and an SUV type vehicle. There is a short 10 minutes walk up to the Waterfall, so bring your hiking shoes. Be careful it can be slippery with a few challenging bits but the hike is worth seeing the beautiful falls.

  • 5/5 Kerry C. 6 years ago on Google
A fairly large waterfall with a swimmable pool close to the city. This is probably the closest waterfall to Kingston, and is easily accessible via Stony Hill Square. Caution: the road surface for the final KM is filled with potholes - some quite large. From Bowden Primary School, the track to the falls is obvious, and is easy to navigate; it’s about a 10 minute walk from the start of the track to the falls. There was one spot that was very muddy, but, otherwise, the surface is mostly wet leaves. A trip to this falls is highly recommended.

The drive to this place is not for the faint of hearts. Especially if you’re afraid of heights like me lol. It’s rough and rocky. Then the dang walk was so long. We went a day after it rained and lets just say that was not a smart idea. Once we got to the waterfall though it was amazing. The water was cold as hell but it was a sight to behold. Oh and BRING MOSQUITO REPELLENT cuz they tore me up 🤣
