This is a beautiful well maintained property. The 45 minute tour was informative and gave insight into how a millionaire and his family lived in the later part of 1800. The complimentary ice cream was almost three scoops high, sweet, coconut flavored and creamy. There was a choice from at least 10-12 flavors. Ideal for cooling down on a hot sunny day walking around the compound. Notable mention- The compound has spotty free wifi and outdoor plugs in the entrance area with the statue of George Stiebel. It’s worth a revisit to enjoy the restaurants and cafes. This visit was strictly for the tour and ice scream.

Just perfect! Customer service is good every time I visit. Their patties are absolutely yummy. I tried the curried goat patty for the first time. Flavor-wise, it’s a 9/10. I do think its a tad too salty. I do also enjoy their pastries and cakes! 😋

The only plant based option is the callaloo patty. The crust was nice and flaky and the filling was seasoned well and not too spicy. Also they do not skimp on the filling. The customer service needs improvement, at the time of my visit 2 employees were behind the counter and only 1 was attending customers. So there was a wait. Seating is available outside and there are other vendors on the complex.

Another highlight on our vacation touring Around Jamaica. Devon House is definitely a must-see. Tour guides are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. The grounds are beautiful and well-kept. The ice cream is to die for. Known for the best ice cream on the island. An ice cream comes with your purchase tour ticket.

Devon House bakery cakes are always delicious but I didn’t enjoy this parfait. I’m a big fan of their curry goat patty! It’s well seasoned and delicious other filled with chunks of goat. Only fault was it maybe a lil too spicy this time.

The ice cream is really the best in the world-and it tastes really authentic. I came back here at least three times during my vacation for a different kind of ice cream along with the finest of mansion tours. The tour guide showed great hospitality and professionalism-and my child and I enjoyed every moment of this experience. I finally got to learn a lot more about its history as it relates to an important person within the culture and his accomplishment. The atmosphere is also kept very clean, friendly, and professional. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic I was very impressed with the attention given to provide quality service to their customers.

Devon House is more popularly known for its ice cream parlor but the bakery DOES NOT MISS. Devon House patties are much more expensive than the standard patty but the fillings are unique and so flavourful with hearty pieces of meat inside - pictured here is the Curry Goat patty, but my favourites are the Lobster patty (available only during lobster season) and the Fish patty. The desserts are quite tasty as well! The main bakery (on the left) serves more traditional desserts like cakes, brownies & typical pastries... but the "International" bakery (on the right) is serving up a whole other world of desserts from all over the globe. From pies to tiramisu to creme brulee.. the sweet tooth options are endless. Pictured is the Lemon Meringue Pie which was big enough to serve two - super sweet and tart but very light and refreshing.

Beautiful setting, the remains of the old ovens and equipment can be seen in the shop. The patties are quite big, they taste excellent with a unique pastry, slightly different from the usual hence the higher price.

My all time favourite ice cream. The best ice cream in Jamaica. I tried the shrimp and curry goat patty from the bakery as well. Loved the goat patty, it was so flavourful. The shrimp patty was good but I believe it would be perfect if the shrimp was curried.

Such a huge place to sit down and enjoy ice cream. Paying for One scoop is enough as they seem to pack it right on and it’s about 3 scoops. Such a variety of different flavours I went for the cookies and cream and it was delicious. Shame you have to pay extra for toppings

Pretty chill and relaxing location for the whole family. First time visiting and I've been vacationing here for years. Usually has a decent and consistent amount of people but not usually over packed. I ended up dropping my ice cream and a worker kindly gave me a second one free of charge so that was a plus. 10/10 would go again. Parking lot is packed but since people come and go constantly I noticed most poeple pulling up as someone is leaving.

Still a family activity, icecream at Devon House is memorable. The scoops are large and there are various flavors. The waffle cone was disappointing. Sit on the lawn and enjoy your icecream.

Cakes and pastries are very eye-catching, BUT customer service stinks. Anika's service skills need some serious training. For the prices charged here, good service is deserved! Curry Goat Patty good good, though.

Pastry is not like it used to be...I loved the bread pudding and chocolate cake......but my last visit none of the two were the same, like they used to be. The patty was good though. I had the beef patty and it was nice and hot and freshly baked. Staff is pleasant and courteous. Just disappointed in my usual pastry selection.

Devon House bakery pastries are fresh & delicious, we've had their cookies (not really a big fan of those), cheesecakes, pineapple turnover, muffins, coffee strips, cakes, donuts (chocolate covered donut with sprinkles are my favorite)...but the star of the show is their curry goat patty!!! I also enjoy their beef patty too. Now I don't even like or eat goat meat🥲 but I tried this and since then I have never been the same🤣😭 It's one of my hubby's favorite, he's not crazy about curry but he loves it; it’s well seasoned, delicious, flavorful and spicy just the way we like it.

A must stop for everyone whenever in Kingston. The patties are next level; you’d be hard pressed to find any fault. The pastry is flakey yet firm; the filling moist, beautifully seasoned and spiced, and generous.

  • 1/5 Phyllis L. 2 years ago on Google
All hype, over priced, lower quality ice cream than it used to be! Not the same quality, flavors (seems watered down), less than favorable flavors as before. This place use to give samples but not anymore, now I see why they don’t; if they do give samples, a majority of the customers wouldn’t waste their money to buy these overpriced poor quality ice cream. I’m very disappointed, I would have been happier getting a store bought ice cream! Don’t waste your money or time…it’s not worth it!!!

Am really happy that this place opened back up, plus the Sundays are fair game for hanging out again. With everyone wearing their masks and practicing social distancing while chilling and having fun, was quite the experience for me cause its been a while now since habe been able to hang out. I have the 4 star because I love the vanilla ice cream and it has grate areas for taking photos.

Jamaican chicken patty.......great after work stop to indulge in a nicely spiced curry chicken patty. The shop though some what small can only accommodate purchases only however there is plenty of space outside to enjoy the grounds of the beautiful Devon house

Always a great stop to make when visiting Kingston. The little shops have great gifts to bring back home. They may seem pricey but compared to the airport or a resort its a bargin. The ice cream shop is the reason most people come here and sadly over the years I have noticed a dip in quality. I can't put my finger on it,but year after year the ice cream gets blander and blander while going up in price

The crowed was massive but base on the prestige of Devon House that was to be expected especially on a public holiday. The ice cream was lovely and the scenery was beautiful for taking photos. I really enjoyed myself.

This is a beautiful place to grab little bite to eat. The bakery had this creatively shaped "Ackee Patty", that was really good. The Steakhouse is beautiful too and the staff here is polite. Everyone was polite actually. It was a great experience!!

This was my first tour of Devon House. Home of Jamaica's first black millionaire. I am so glad I went. Our tour guide was Jodi (I hope I got her name correctly). She's an older lady who was very personable and knowledgeable throughout the tour. She gave us facts and tidbits about the house, architecture, family and time period. I would recommend doing the Devon House tour, and getting a treat with it (I chose the ice cream). I think I would go again...in a few months, or get the book about the house and owners, Stiebel.

Delicious pastries and drinks. I loved their curry goat patty (~$900JMD) so much I went and bought another same time. The prices are above average but worth it. Definitely a nice Sunday treat 😋 for you and the family or a special someone.

As usual, never disappoint on the quality of the ice served. But was disappointed with the portion size and the container ice cream was served in. Being a proud Jamaican looking forward to my regular 2 scoops however I was on the go and did not want to be bothered with a cone and asked for a cup instead which was at an additional cost. Paid and looking forward to my ice cream only to be given this "2 scoops of ice cream in a coffee cup". I then enter a conversation with the server about the presentation and portion may I say for $1050. Both server and supervisor insist that this is the correct container and there was nothing wrong with it. I left unsatisfied, losing a little of my pride and joy and wondering if the best Devon House can do is "2 scoops of ice cream in a coffee cup".

  • 5/5 Sheryl W. 1 year ago on Google
The craft store has the same items you would find in the resorts and in the airport. $2000 less than the resorts and $1000 less than the airport. The jerk chicken from the Jerk Box had the perfect balance of flavor and moisture. We had to wait 45 minutes because they were sold out. It was worth every moment. I hope you're experience will be as excellent as mine. I can still taste it.

This historical spot that’s family friends any day of the week for all occasions. Well secured with a constant security presence. Clean and well kept, also very beautiful with many flowers and Bushes, also many chill spots and huge front lawn with huge trees for much shade. Secure and free parking in the back with easy entrance and exit. Many shops and restaurants and of course they h ice cream is delicious and nutritious. Yummy 😋

Devon house is always full but there is also always somewhere to sit. The service at the bakery was okay, I had to ask for ice but other than that they were fast the curried goat patty was hot and delicious and I would try another one

Delicious ice-cream! Staff member was unwilling to scoop out a particular flavour because it was “too hard to scoop”, refused to get another staff member to help. Meanwhile other customers were being served that flavour with no issues. Although that was a bizarre experience, the ice cream is unmatched!

  • 5/5 Debbie M. 6 months ago on Google
Staff was friendly, I took a chance on the lobster patty but I didn’t like it much, plus it was cold. Am sticking to the Curry goat it’s always hot and fresh. I bought coconut water also but I think the container had a ginger flavor beverage before they put the coconut in because it tasted like coconut ginger.

Devon House ice cream is nothing to speak of, over priced and the flavours are nothing to write home about. Never been on the tour however the other businesses on the property are worth a visit. The Commisary by Christina Simonitch is one of my favourites! Definitely check it out. Grab a bite at Pimento's or the Steakhouse. The other restaurants are also quite good. After, head to the bakery for a sweet treat or their famous patties, you won't regret it.

Absolutely the best place for Jamaican Ice Cream, the customer service is excellent but the ice cream them selves are just amazing. It's a huge property to walk around and to have picnics and events as well, don't forget their bakery, it's to die for mouth watering pastries and much more.Adequate parking is also available. They accommodate school trips, group trips etc. Over all, a fantastic place to go and just enjoy your self.
