We ordered the lobster mushroom gnocchi with fresh cherry tomatoes and the seared sea scallop over a bed a cheesy grits and spinach with pops of corn. It was delicious, and the scallops were the best we’ve ever had. We also ordered the old fashioned and lavender fizz. They were perfection. We truly enjoyed the service and the ambiance. The food came out so quickly and was cooked perfectly. We will be back for their daily specials. Can’t believe they just opened up, the chef is better than master chef.

I had an amazing brunch/lunch experience at Oak Bistro 🌳🍽️, located on 1287 Cambridge St in Cambridge, MA, this past Saturday, accompanied by my lovely mom. This cozy restaurant draws its culinary inspiration from the vibrant flavors of São Paulo, Brazil 🇧🇷. To quench our thirst, we opted for their coffee ☕ and a classic mimosa 🍹. The mimosa was quite standard, but it hit the spot, especially if you’re in the brunch alcohol mood! 🥂 We started our meal with the avocado toast 🥑🍞 and short rib hash 🍖🍳 from the brunch menu. The avocado toast was intriguing with its unique addition of mushrooms 🍄, but it lacked that essential touch of salt or citrus. I’m not entirely convinced that mushrooms and avocado toast are a perfect match, but it was the only slightly underwhelming dish, earning a 5/10. On the other hand, the short rib hash (8/10) was a delightful surprise. Featuring sweet potatoes 🍠, apple bacon 🍏🥓, and perfectly cooked eggs 🍳, it was a symphony of flavors. If the potatoes had been a bit crispier, it would have been a solid 10/10! We couldn’t resist trying the jalapeño cheese cornbread 🌽🧀 served with Vermont maple whipping butter 🍁. It was delightfully buttery, and as a cornbread enthusiast, I was in heaven, giving it an 9/10! The grilled longboard pizza 🍕 with pepperoni, onions, and arugula was a winning combination. It was cooked to perfection and had that irresistible cheese pull 🧀. Another solid 8/10! To end our meal on a sweet note, we indulged in the Brazilian raindrop beignets 🇧🇷🍩, deep-fried dough balls served with warm caramel sauce. A truly cozy and satisfying finish, earning an 8/10. If you’re on the hunt for a winter brunch spot this January, I highly recommend making your way to Oak Bistro. Don’t miss out on the scrumptious cornbread and delightful beignets! Food: 8/10 🍽️ Ambiance: 8/10 🏞️ Affordability: 7/10 💰 Overall, a delightful experience that’s sure to warm your heart and satisfy your taste buds! 😋🌟

We had lunch and dinner (different day) here and enjoyed both meals immensely. It was nice to see that they had a few mocktails for us "non-drinking" patrons. Service was good and atmosphere was fresh and warm.

Outstanding! The fried oysters were lightly battered (& not greasy). Mussels, the broth, & dipping bread were wonderfully flavorful & fresh!! Even the Brussels sprouts were great

With its cozy wooden interiors reminiscent of the previous Mexican place, Corazon de Frida, Oak Bistro offers a delightful tavern-style dining experience in Inman Square. I took a visit for lunch a few weeks ago and found the menu that straddled the line between classic bistro fare and tavern food. Starting with the appetizers, the Braised Fried Pork Belly and Buttermilk Fried Oysters were straightforward yet satisfying. The portions, while modest, were reasonably priced. From their entrées, I had their most popular Long Island Duck Confit. Served atop a bed of sweet potato and apple bacon hash, the duck was tender, albeit slightly over-seasoned. Yet, the sweet potato purée helped bring the dish together nicely and the port wine sauce further enhanced the umami of the meat - the managed took particular pride in this dish, as well as their cocktail offerings. Speaking of cocktails, as someone with a preference for sweeter drinks, I found both the Lipsticks on a Fig and the Oreo Espresso Martini great. Overall, Oak Bistro does a solid job of providing an elevated tavern dining experience, backed by a friendly and attentive service. While not every dish hit the mark entirely, they were generally well-executed and presented good value for their price. If you’re looking for a blend of comfort and creativity in dining experience, I recommend checking them out.

I only leave reviews if I go to a place more than once and there is consistency in the food. This restaurant has it all across the board, service, atmosphere and THE FOOD! Had the lamb sliders and short rib croquettes for appetizers. I was mind-blown by the flavors in the sliders and the patty was perfectly cooked (I’m picky w lamb). Then we had the mushroom risotto and house made gnocchi. Everything had so much flavor and the portions were more than enough. Def recommend giving this place a shot! Will be coming back!
