I want to start this off by saying I tried to post this anonymously because of fear of retaliation, but unfortunately Duke City or Google blocked my review. So let’s try again with my actual personal profile. The receptionists that work at this Urgent Care are completely lacking in empathy and compassion. I had a horrible experience with them the couple times I called and needed assistance. It was like pulling teeth just to get simple information from them, as if they were trying to be unhelpful. Which to me clearly indicates they do not care about their jobs anymore and probably should find a new place to work. I myself work in customer service and can honestly say, even on my worst day, I would not speak to people the way they spoke to me each time I called or was in person speaking with them. I also would not at all recommend this location whatsoever, since they are NOT good diagnosticians. The doctor I saw completely mis-diagnosed me and gave me the completely wrong medication. This wrong medication had many very intense side effects. I so regret going here for treatment and am dreading the bills that will surely come in the mail for this so-called "medical care" I received. Honestly, go ANYWHERE else. Everything from how I was treated at the reception level to the care I received from the doctors was terrible.

Mediocre service from staff, from start to finish I don't think I received a hello or even a genuine smile. My daughter was needing a sports physical which is a rather quick appointment but we were there about 2 hours, granted we didn't have an appointment so I expected to wait. The facility was rather dirty looking. I eventually had ask when we would be seen after already being called back. I've been to other Duke City Urgent Care facilities and this one was lacking tremendously. Not friendly at all with the exception of one xray tech.

I went there for an ankle sprain. And this was one of the worse decisions I made in my life. The waiting time is at least 4 hours for an “urgent care” finally they did an x-ray and I saw a nurse, who gave me nothing just some readings at all. Because they are business people not actual they propose the small things that insurance companies won't pay for because it is a scam. They make sure that you sign a paper that the coverage is on you in case the insurance do not cover the charge. After insurance coverage(65%) I had a total of $400 to pay and the worse is they did nothing at all. I pay money to waste 4 hour in the waiting room and to talk to a nurse. Worse place to go.

Expect to be here about 2 hours minimum. Expect to have people serviced before you even though they got there much later than you (and no, they did not schedule an apt. They were walk ins). Jessica, the "provider" who saw me, was extremely unprofessional and snippy. It's amazing she works in a patient care field. The guy who cleaned my wound was nice. The only good part of my visit. I'd recommend going to ANY other location. The one on Eubank is much better.

I am usually happy to go here for urgent care, but today's experience has left me with a bad taste. The receptionist was impatient and very rude. Her face even turned red. I was at Duke Urgent Care because I don't feel good. Individuals who work in this field should have more patience and compassion. Also called to talk to Office manager and was left on hold for 10 minutes before I hung up. I left without care.

I would give zero stars if I could. My husbands appointment was two hours ago and as we sit here waiting to be seen, it is getting harder and harder for him to breathe. Perhaps if he stops breathing, a doctor will actually have to see him. If you need urgent care, do not come here. There are far better urgent cares in town.

Two important issues consumers need to be aware of using any of the Duke City Urgent Cares. 1. They do not triage people so if your issues is truly urgent and/or you are in a lot of pain you WILL wait a long time to be seen. Our situation was that my husband was in a lot of pain and I had to ask several times for him to at least be triaged and given something to help endure the wait. When he was triaged to be given numbing eye drops his issue appeared to be resolved. The medical provider told us we could wait to be seen or if we chose to leave we would be refunded the copay. Due to the several hour wait we decided to leave and come back if needed. We were surprised when we weren’t refunded and when I called to inquire I was told that we were given the wrong information and they would not refund us even though we made a decision to leave based on the provider’s information. Requested to speak to a manager who was reportedly unavailable and never called back. Business office also will not return calls. Consumer beware-complete lack of customer service or integrity by this business.

Made a check in appointment for 4pm for an eye injury. Got there at 3:20 and left at 6:45. Was going to walk out but was told they are charging me regardless and i had soooo much time invested (an hour drive there). Docs and staff were nice and proficient (except one snarky guy) but the management evidently doesnt know how to staff their practice. Or they know and just care more about the money because they continue to book appointments even though badly overbooked and triage everyone quickly to get them on the hook for the appointment and insurance money then make you wait hours because they aren't properly staffed. Staff was still there with patients almost 2 hours after closing.

This was my family's third time here. I came in once, and my daughter has been twice now. Finally time to leave a review. I have been extremely happy with the service my family received here. The front desk staff is very courteous and highly communicative. The providers have been very empathetic, patient, and professional all three times we've been there. My 5 year old had to get stitches twice, and each time the nurses and doctors were really good with her. This last time in particular, Manny was incredibly patient, gentle, and my daughter trusted him with the suture procedure. I really appreciated his skills and ability to work with her. The wait time varies, we did wait about 2 hours on a Sunday afternoon, but the last couple of times the wait time was much shorter. They try to get patients into triage as soon as possible to assess their needs, and then patients do have to wait until a provider is available. I know that other urgent cares were very busy during the time we were in, so the wait time tends to be similar at most locations. It just depends on the day.

Not professional at all. No customer service skills or bedside manors for health care workers. Do not bring your children here. This is their triage area. They had no A/C, and it was almost 100 degrees outside. Completely unacceptable from a health care facility.

Brought my son into be seen. He scheduled a 1 pm appointment. Got there on time. Waited from 1 til after 4 to get to a room. Still waiting. No reason to give appointments if your staffing can not handle the load. Better to just leave at first come first seen.

This place is absolutely FILTHY. I walked into the examination room and noticed they did not have any paper covers for the exam table. I thought maybe they wipe it down between each exam. Nope. covered in some sort of sticky substance, hair, dust, etc. The floors look like they haven’t been swept or mopped for weeks. Counter was filthy. Everything in this room looked like it is never cleaned. ear and eye examination instruments covered in a thick layer of dust. speaks volume to patient care. I have never seen a doctors office exam room this disgusting. this level of filth in an exam room can not be legal. The PA put down a doggy-pee-pad looking thing for me to sit on. I should also mention that the young women check-in staff were talking and laughing very loudly. it was very unprofessional. sick children and elderly do not want to listen to you laughing like hyenas while they wait for medical care. this place needs to get it together.

All because they launched a new website scheduling system yesterday 3/24/23 and changed their policies as well. They left my wife standing outside till after 8 along with an much older lady when their website says they open (Still)and have for a long time. Anyways they turned them away and said pretty much it was our problem. Also we tried to schedule on their brand new website but it wouldn't work! Some health cate place this is!.

This is the second time we have used Duke City Urgent care and have been tremendously pleased each time! I had to go there to get some stitches in my thumb and the entire staff was just great. Even though there was an about 2 hour wait, they were apologetic and kept checking to see everything was OK. They are kind, caring and concerned all the way through the process. I cannot remember everyone, but from the check in, triage, suturing, clean up etc everyone was great! Thanks to Johnny, Luna, Paul and Philip! (Hope I got spellings correct!) Thanks to all, great place! Hope to NOT be back again!!

Very frustrating-made a reservation not just walk-in. Never told there was a wait, after 3 1/2 hours still not taken back. I understand critical patients and elevated need but communication is lacking. Paid $50 copay was told could not be refunded after blood pressure taken. Which was take about an hour after arrival. I will attempt any other urgent care before heading back to Duke City!

The problem issue here is appointments: taking appointments but then having to waiting 2 hours after appt time. They told me to rush on down cause they were immediate availabilities, so I made the appt for a few minutes hence, then sat. Better off not taking appointments because it sets up unrealistic expectations. The care of the staff and medical professionals was excellent!!

I've been here twice now and have had great experiences! They are fast and efficient, while also managing to be incredibly attentive. Both times I left within 30 minutes. One of those visits they even had to do some lab work! Best urgent care I've ever been to.

I walked in yesterday afternoon and and was triaged within a few minutes and was then asked to wait in the waiting room till a room opened to see a Provider. I saw Luisa Valverde, PA-C in less than an hour and she is amazingly kind and knowledgeable. The front office lady and the EMT assistant that triaged me were super nice. I felt cared for and left in much better shape than when I arrived. Thank you!

The system they have doesn't make sense. I walked in at 11 because their website says they take walk INS and then when I did walk in they don't even speak to you. They make you scan some code. So when I scanned the code it made me make an appointment for 330. So I get here at 245 and I've been sitting in the lobby watching my name and number go down all the way to next in line. Yet the entire time I was supposed to check in with the people up front. That's very STUPID and I won't be coming back Here EVER AGAIN. So now it's almost 30 minutes past y appointment time and I'm still sitting here like an idiot.

I was in and out within the hour, which was great, I was expecting to spend a lot longer here. The receptionist and medical assistant’s are great. Keep up the good work and good vibes ladies. I will come here again if I ever need to be seen same day for urgent care needs. :)

Waited three hours for strep test and follow up as a non walk-in and confirmed appointment. Triage clinician with no interpersonal skills and empathy. Check in process confusing. Finally, after 3 hours the PA comes in. She was friendly and helpful. This place is a workflow mess.

We had to find an urgent care quick because my husband sliced open his skin near his left thumb with a box cutter and this place helped us out. They require appointments, but if you have an incident where you require stitches they will still take you in. You may have to wait, but it's part of what happens when you are not prepared for unexpected event. The staff here are wonderful and the amount of care provided by Craig and his PA team, and EMT's Manny and Alexis was 5-star. They took great care in stitching his wound and explained everything to do once we got home. This place will be my go-to from now on if we need to avail ourselves of their services again.

Unfortunately this place seems to have the same healthcare services others have around town. Waiting 5 days for a culture is unfortunate and not only that they want my family member to return to be re-evaluated after waiting 5 days and still have not got results from the first visit. His symptoms are the same they have not changed. He's missed several days of work and cannot afford to miss.Oh but let's have you come in and wait another 5 hours and let's make money off of you again just so you can see that the symptoms have not changed from the first visit. Sad to see that so many in the medical field lack compassion and just plain old common sense. Duke city has gone down hill since they first started..

To clarify, all of the in person staff were awesome. If this were a customer service review, I would give them 5 stars. But here's why I'm giving it 2. I had been sick twice before I finally came in and the third time I was feeling worse than the previous two times. My visit consisted of a zoom call, where I was prescribed an antihistamine and they didn't know what I had, the in person staff had run some standard tests. After being sick twice, it seems like antibiotics would have been an option, but they are the experts so maybe not, but I was the sickest I've been since I was a child and was sick for 8 more days after the visit, and felt worse every time I took the medicine they prescribed. My impression was that the provider on the zoom call was distracted, didn't ask many questions and wasn't comfortable with the computer program format of the visit and seemed rushed. I never want another zoom visit after this. I don't think you get the appropriate level of care.

Was told one day I couldn't be a walk-in and to reserve for the day this review was posted. Do not expect to be seen even if you reserved a spot to be seen. I am looking at two hours of waiting just to not be seen. You are better off going to a different urgent care when you will actually be seen and get the care you need. They give better service to older patients and will call them back before everyone else waiting. Gave up on waiting while seeing older and lighter skinned patients get called back and seen. Don't waste your time here especially if you are not an older white person.

I went in with extremely high blood pressure and chest tightness, dizziness and headache. The triage said I would be put in the very next available room. 1 1/2 hours later, I was put in a room but not seen. I went and found someone and the nurse came in. I had to demand an egg. They have no equipment to check for a heart problem. DO NOT bother going there! YOU WILL WAIT FOREVER!

Want to urgent care, and although we had a two hour wait, the service was great. The facilities were clean. The reception personnel were kind and professional. The physician, Dr. Whiting, went above and beyond our expectations. So glad you are our neighborhood urgent care center. Thank you!

This week marks my 4th visit (twice personally and twice with my two year old) and the Juan Tabo Duke City Urgent Care has consistently exceeded my expectations. I do usually go as the first visit of the day so I’m in and out within an hour or so from electronic check in. Everyone has a positive / warm / humorous attitude and makes sure all my questions are answered during my visits and before I go. My most recent trip (Dec 9) was due to a gash on my toddlers forehead. We went to Pres Now the evening before due to need for after hours care and waited 5 hours to not be seen by the doctor! Next day, stroll into Duke City and get top notch service. The two women who helped get stitches on my baby girl were so sweet and helped us all keep my daughter as comfortable as she could be. I won’t be going anywhere else unless I absolutely have to. Thanks for having a place I can consistently expect 5 star service and care.

I am not one to write bad reviews, however my experience has made me upset to say the least. I went into Duke City on Sunday. I have had severe pain in both sides of my body, mainly my right. I initially thought it was appendicitis. The PA basically told me “this is what i think it could be” but never checked me, never did an exam, ultrasound, or anything. She basically said let’s see what happens and sent me home. I ended up in the ER yesterday, where I found out I have 2 ovarian cysts, a liver problem, and a GI virus. I was basically refused help and ended up in the hospital. Do better, Duke City.

  • 1/5 Courtney L. 1 year ago on Google
Everyone was nice. When I go to an emergency room I prefer to see a doctor in person not on a computer. I came in with severe ear pain. I had a PA on the computer and an EMT using an ear scope in my ear which also showed on the computer screen so that the PA could somewhat see it, but obviously not well enough. She told me I didn’t have an ear infection and to use a decongestant and allergy med to help and no antibiotics were prescribed. The pain intensified overnight and it became almost intolerable the next day. I called their office to see if I could possibly get another treatment regiment (antibiotic, steroid, something) and they said I’d have to be seen again. I was JUST seen less than twelve hours ago! I was working, I couldn’t go in again. I had already left work early the day before. I went to another Urgent Care later that morning and it was a full blown sinus AND ear infection, antibiotics and steroid injections were given and my pain went away immediately. I wouldn’t go to this Urgent Care again. Again, nice team but not comprehensive care.

Thank you so much for such amazing care! The entire team of staff was nice and doctor was amazing! I have no idea what any negative reviews are about because everything was positive and thorough. Dr. Duran was amazing I wish she could by my PCP. The wait time was long but the great care is worth the wait. 100% recommend!

Visited the clinic yesterday and was impressed with the speed and quality of service. I was able to make a reservation online, and when I arrived, they were able to take me right back. The facilities are clean and well-kept compared to what I have experienced at other urgent care centers. It was obvious that they cared about my health, and were able to run an x-ray on site and schedule an ultrasound at their location down the street. Results and communication was prompt and caring. I'll definitely consider Duke City Urgent care first if the need arises in the future.

I have been there twice in the last year and a half. The first time, they probably saved my life. The most recent they nailed diagnosis and treatment. The later ER and hospital Urology departments were only a follow-up/ confirmation the providers here were correct! Everyone's experience will be different. Mine has been extraordinarily good. Thank you DCUC!
