An amazing gem of a museum. Currently exhibiting artist Ezra Tucker who paints, huge, realistic, and gorgeous canvases of animals. Ezra highlights in his paintings a number of Black Americans who served their country in brave ways. There’s also an artist in residence who has created fantastically detailed scratchings of wildlife. But the most amazing part of the museum for me was the taxidermy collection on the second floor, which included a number of extremely rare as well as extinct animals. The taxidermy section lacked explanation labels, which would really benefit visitors.

I was absolutely blown away by this hidden gem! I've passed the mansion dozens of times and never thought to visit the museum, and I'm so happy I did. The artwork is stunning and the weekend volunteer was so pleasant and informative! Once you ring the bell and are invited in, you are shown around. There are two floors; downstairs houses paintings and sculptures and the upstairs is home to an extensive array of taxidermy from all over the world. If you are a love of the arts or nature, this place is worth a trip!

This museum is a wonderful place to visit if you have anything greater than a passing interest in wildlife and wildlife art. Housed in a beautiful old stable house you’ll find dozens of paintings and sculptures on display and if you’re lucky you might see the massive taxidermy collection hidden away on the upper floor. There are also bits of local history on display as well which provide a rich insight into the many familiar names seen and heard in and around Bergen county.

A gem hiding in plain sight! The building has a interesting history and has been very well maintained. The exhibitions are all worth a detailed look and the space itself is deceivingly large with some great rotating exhibits. Diane was our guide and exceedingly helpful and a great source of information about the exhibits and the space.

5 stars all the way. This is a really nice wildlife art museum. There are 2 floors you can finish this in around an hour or so. The upstairs was my favorite. There were so many of the real wildlife animals that are taxidermy, which is the preserving of an animal's body via mounting. Amazing there was a guy that lived in the mansion next door that hunted and collected animals and preserved them. From bears, to tigers, lions, owls, eagles, deer, moose, dodo bird, etc. And yes a dodo bird they are extinct. They are all on display on the 2nd floor. Just wow, amazing site to see, for adults and children for sure. 1st floor was an art gallery full of wildlife pictures and paintings. That was a really nice art gallery as well. Our tour guide for the 2nd floor was amazing. Talked to us a bit about the history/ Even gave us a nice animal book at the end, which was so very nice of her to do that. I would come back here again hands down. There is no adimission but you just leave a donation. It was well worth it. Im glad we came here from this. Thank you

Great little museum dedicated to exhibiting wildlife art. The paintings and sculpture are world class. They wildlife shown runs from cute and adorable to magnificent. WARNING: Even when it's open they lock their front door. So it looks like it's closed. YOU HAVE TO RING THE DOORBELL. THEN THEY WILL COME AND OPEN THE FOR FOR YOU

I have driven by this place many times and finally stopped in - what a little jewel of a place! I neglected to get the name of the lady who showed us around but she was very pleasant. It's free to get in, the art is quite good and the history is interesting. We just missed one of the temporary exhibits but well worth a visit even for just the permanent display

Small but amazing museum, they have beautiful wildlife art. The taxidermy exhibit is amazing as well, so many animals from all over the world. I can't wait to see the next exhibit.

You must visit this place! My daughter and I had an amazing time. Ms. Rosa was our guide and she took her time to explain and talk to us about all the wonderful art. Thank you Ms. Rosa and for letting us meet your bunny! We can't wait for the new exhibition.
