My mom was brought in on an ambulance for unconsciousness twice. She arrived around 5:30pm, because of traffic I got to the hospital at 7pm. I was met with Mikki at the front desk. She told me my mother was still on the EMS stretcher in the back and had 19 people waiting to be seen. I told her that my mom has an advanced condition to were she won’t be able to communicate well , etc. She told me to take a seat. I waiting about 30 minutes approached the desk and stated, that my moms been in the back for a little over two hours, are you saying that she is still with EMS on the stretcher, that I should be able to at least see her given I’m her legal representative and to register her etc, she said she was registered. I stated that she isn’t of sound mind to sign anything so I want to make sure I can do those necessary things. She then got frustrated picked up the phone and stated “just go back” as I was walking to the ER door, she started making rude and unprofessional comments to me. I stated “that is completely rude, disrespectful and I will be reporting this”, she got up out of her seat angrily and stated I’m going with you to report it. She then started speaking hastily to a charge nurse Christie, who then started yelling at me stating she just came on, was busy and overwhelmed and I can just go back and sit in the ER waiting room. I am not only taken back by this behavior. This is not a way to treat family members with medical emergencies. This is one of very many times that we have been to this ER as my moms doctors are affiliated with WJ. We have never been treated with such disrespect which violates the patients rights and responsibilities. I understand that their very busy, and that’s okay but the lack of respect is intolerable and saddening. My mom was unconscious twice today and it was very emotional and worrisome. We are now in an ER treatment room and absolutely very happy and satisfied with our nurse Jordan who is very compassionate and caring, who recognized us as well from a previous visit. We really like West Jefferson and happy with all our specialty physicians, nurses and care team members who are all true professionals. My only other concern is that staff seem very overworked with many cases and in return a lack of compassion. The charge nurse Christie was non-apologetic and she never gave me an opportunity to tell her about how I felt disrespected by Mikki, this made me taken back and I felt very mistreated, her manner and tone shocked me, she reprimanded me for something that could of easily been resolved. The wait times are normally 4 hours to be seen as they remain really busy.

My dad had a sudden left face numbness that was noticeable we feared it was a stroke so we went to this emergency room. Once we provided them the symptoms they quickly brought us to the back and attended him. Very professional staff. I would also like to mention that a nurse by the name Jasmine ( working in the 7th floor) was very kind and attentive. As we were freezing in our room and sleeping in a slanted form she came and arranged our chairs into beds and gave us blankets. Little things like this make a great impression.

When I walked in the ER I was seen in a timely manner. The Staff was very nice, and they listened to my ever need. I will recommend my family and friends to come to West Jefferson Hospital

The emergency room was so quick and easy. They had me in a room within 5 minutes and test results done before I knew it. They deserve a gold medal.

Did not have to wait long. Everyone was very nice and welcoming. Communicated with me about everything that needed to be done and amount of time it would take.

I was in a great deal of pain, alone and very worried. I was relieved to see a fresh place filled with a caring attitude. Not only concerned for me ,but for other patients near me. I pray this will continue. Out of all the chaos in the world, no one should have to endure a bad experience at your neighborhood hospital.

There was no time wasted getting me to see the doc and then he came and got the ball rolling almost immediately. I barely had time to change over (that’s a good thing). All the members here at West Jefferson, I engaged with, were helpful, genuine and sincere!

From the time I first got there and sent to the back, I was treated with respect and care from the nursing staff, doctor and everyone else who attended me. I felt comfortable asking questions and never did I feel that I was being rushed out. My husband even expressed how nice and kind everyone was. Thanks to everyone who attended me🙏🏾😀

I have had the worst experience at this emergency room. I came in due to having severe mouth pain unable to eat or sleep. When getting vitals checked I was asked about my pain level, which I rated as 9.5 out of 10. Once I was called to see Dr. M Landry, she spent all of 45 seconds looking into my mouth with a flashlight before stated she saw nothing wrong and my mouth looked healthy. She wanted to send me home with some generic antibiotics and basically dismissed me. I requested pain meds and informed her the reason I was there was my pain which I, again, rated at a 9.5 out of 10. She tried to explain the antibiotics would take care of it but since I asked she would prescribe Tylenol with codeine. Feeling very unseen and rushed, I asked if I could get a second opinion from a different doctor. The nurse informed me I would have to go back out and resign in and wait to be called all over again. Needless to say I left here feeling worse than before. The medicine prescribed did not work after taking 4 doses, so I went to an urgent care the next day. The doctor at this urgent care did a culture, thoroughly examined my condition, and asked lots of questions about what I've been dealing with. She noticed I had an aphthous ulcer in the exact spot I had been complaining of pain. When I asked her about the medication prescribed by Dr Landry she said this ulcer is not bacterial therefore I did not need any antibiotics and the Tylenol codeine wouldn't help with my condition. She prescribed me a different pain medication, mouth numbing oral wash, and something for my nausea as I had been vomiting as well. Going to West Jefferson was a complete waste of time and money. If I didn't go searching for a second opinion I could've gotten a yeast infection from taking antibiotics that I didn't actually need or possibly made my condition worse by being wrongly treated.

From the moment we walked through the emergency room door we were treated with the utmost respect, people are very kind and empathetic and catered to every need my dad had when we got to the Back I can’t speak Highly enough about the Whole staff, very professional, they took extra steps to run test on my father, including to have someone come back to work after she left to go home for the day so she could run a test on him in a very timely manner the whole experience Was very professional with the best bedside manners that I’ve ever experience in any hospital right down to the doctors taking extra time out of their busy schedule to explain to me things about my father’s condition so that I was fully informed and very satisfied with the level of care that he is receiving, thank y’all very much from the bottom of my heart!

Sat in the ER Friday night 11/10 with my Sister she all of a sudden couldn’t walk and was screaming in pain. We checked in about 7:30 didn’t leave until 2am. She left in the same condition we brought her in with no answers and still couldn’t move her left leg. While we were in there they would batch call 5-6 people at a time into the back at the same time. It wasn’t a one in one out situation. Perhaps they are understaffed but we chose WJ because it said 10 min wait time. LIES!!! We didn’t see triage until over an hour. And the dr was hours later. One elderly woman in her 80s was screaming in pain for HOURS. We left before she ever seen a dr. I’m sorry but the ER isn’t free, people pay $1000s in insurance a year and that is what you get. I personally won’t be using this hospital if I’m ever in need. I’ll drive Oschner main Campus.

Tonight was honestly my 1st time ever feeling comfortable and welcomed in a hospital, every member of staff I encountered went well above the requirements of duty, and i really wish I knew everyone's name to thank them personally.. but was an amazing team
