This place sucks. "Jambalaya" was just brown rice in a bowl. Po-boy bread was stale and hard, with a hole carved out in order to fit food. Get in Uber to Melba's instead, for the best po-boy in the city. Do NOT eat at Court Tavern.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. I've been here twice, once about 4 years ago and again a week ago. It's terrible, the first time, the seafood Gumbo gave me food poisoning causing me to vomit. The second time I got a muffaletta and I watched them pull it out of a cabinet, microwave it, then hand it to me. My friend got the alligator sausage poboy and it was a sad sight to see. It was literally just a sausage with a kraft single thrown on top also microwaved. My friend had to douse it in relish to make it even somewhat edible. DO NOT GO HERE UNLESS YOU'RE LOOKING TO GET SICK OR VERY DISAPPOINTED.

I thought the price was okay but the food was substandard, I had a poboy and they gave me a packet of lays crisps from 2015

Not sure why there's so much hate for this place. Came during Fat Tuesdays Mardi Gras celebration and still got fairly fast service from friendly people and the food was solid. I do wish there was more meat on the po boy, but the roast beef was good quality, the gravy was delicious, the bread was solid, and the all dressed toppings are definitely the way to go. For $14 there needs to be more meat, but otherwise good for sure.

I had the roast beef poboy and the top bread was brick hard and the bottom soggy from all the gravy that was poured on it. It was served with a variety pack of regular lays chip that one would buy for a kids school lunch. The Jambalaya was like Zatarain's with a link sausage thrown on top. Both these "dishes" were $10 each and not worth it.

For the price.. the "half" of the gator poboy was decent.. but the jambalaya was horrible.. very dry like it was sitting for a veerry long time

Really wanted a muffaletta. Came in last night and they were out of almost everything. Came in today and waited at the counter, didn't see anyone. Some guy in the front was able to get someone's attention. He came out and told us it was shift change and it would be twenty minutes before they could serve us. No thanks. Tried twice. Guess service isn't a priority :/

It is simple and authentic. Nothing fancy. We stopped to check out the menu and saw locals eating there so thought we would try it. The gumbo was legit! Really hit the spot. Tried a bit of my brother-in-law's muffaletta and it was great. The olive mix was amazing. The bread was warm and soft and oh so yummy. Atmosphere is low-key with counter service. A nice break from the crowded loud atmosphere of Bourbon Street. You can get your grub on then get back at it without having to pay for heavy cover charges or hype.

My boyfriend wanted some authentic food and I'm a picky eater. We were really short on time before a tour, and found this place down the street. Really quick service. He got jambalaya, which he said was good. I got a chili dog, which was also good. Super cheap, too! Our whole meal was less than $15.
