My favourite place on the planet to stay (and be spoilt) Image your best friend was a butler and they had you over for the weekend at their national trust listed and immaculately restored historic country estate to spoil just you! Well, that was our experience at Terragong. Only minutes to beaches, rain forests, panoramic lookouts and top-class dining. Not only are Simon and Darryl amazing hosts, with abundant heritage knowledge, gourmet traveller-like culinary skills and world-class interior design finesse, but Daisy their rescue dog was a bonus friendly and most loving icing on the cake complement to our stay. Image the brownie points I got when my mother-in-law said: “It was the best weekend away I have ever had in my life”. We can’t rebook quick enough!

Myself and my husband spent the weekend at Terragong, where we had the best experience ever. Simon and Daryl are the kindest, most attentive hosts and they just treated us like royalty. I’m nearing my due date and Simon made sure that everything he offered was pregnancy friendly which was such a beautiful gesture. We wanted to rest and recoup and that’s exactly what we did there, using the pool, spending time with Daisy and chatting with the other guests and the hosts. The breakfasts were phenomenal, some of the best food I’ve ever had and the nibbles were so delicious. We could not have wanted for anything and we are so grateful for the lovely weekend we had before we descend into the chaos of parenthood. I cannot recommend this place enough and will be back in a heartbeat.

We stayed at Terragong for two nights and we were thoroughly impressed with the overall experience. The house and the estate are absolutely stunning and meticulously cared for. Everything about the experience was exceptional. Attention to detail second to none. Simon, Darryl and daisy made us feel at home right from the get go, to the point of not wanting to leave. Simon’s two course breakfast were extremely delicious and afternoon drinks and nibbles are a must. Couldnt fault anything. Can’t recommend enough.

There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe how wonderful it is to stay at Terragong! It's like visiting with loved ones who want to spoil you rotten and in total luxury! Simon and Darryl provide such a unique experience, and are so passionate about their beautiful heritage listed home, that you will start checking your diary to see when you can book your next visit. They don't just provide a gourmet breakfast! There are so many extras such as pre-dinner drinks and nibbles, which have been home-made, a butlers pantry with a freshly cooked fruit cake to go with a vast selection of teas and coffee, but also when you arrive back from your meal out, there are after-dinner drinks in the Library where you can explore their amazing book collection in front of a lovely warm fire. When we arrived back at Terragong after a day out, my daughter said, "I feel like I've just come home." But, it's so much more than just a home away from home!

Terragong is one of the most beautiful properties I've ever been to. Simon and Darryl are exceptional hosts. We had our wedding there and it was the most perfect day. It is so clear to see how much love and attention Simon and Darryl have put into the place. Every little detail was taken care of and Simon took care of the all the food, and can I just say - he is an amaizing cook!! I think we will be coming back to stay regularly :)

This place really deserves 7 stars. Simon and Darryl provided us with exceptional service from the moment we arrived. Their attention to detail is second to none. The food was outstanding and their warm, friendly approach made us feel like we were staying with friends. Simon gave us some great tips on local restaurants and sights to visit. We will definitely be staying there again! Thank you Simon and Darryl for such a wonderful and memorable weekend.

Where to begin? If you are after a relaxing getaway then you HAVE to go to Terragong. This was one of the best getaways we have ever had. Simon and Darryl have the most amazing house, and their gorgeous little dog Daisy was the icing on the cake. Nothing was too big or small for them. The home cooked breakfasts each morning, the canapes and wine in the afternoon - some of the best food we have had. Simon - you are a genius in the kitchen! You can tell how much effort they have gone to, to ensure all their guests have a great stay. The bed linen and towels were so soft an luxurious, and the rooms so warm and homely. The gardens are simply incredible and it is so peaceful just to wander around - you really feel like you can escape at Terragong. Thank you so so much guys for what was such an incredible weekend. We cannot wait to return! (We miss Daisy already!)

Before AirBNB had us rent out every spare bedroom there was Bed & Breakfast accommodation. Terragong 1858 keeps this traditional alive - and has us longing for the days of old - with brilliant service, tremendous location and outstanding accommodation. Your day will start with a personalised menu slipped under your door discretely by the host. You will wake and enjoy a sumptuous 2 course breakfast accompanied by coffee and juices. Joining you for breakfast will (likely) be the other house guests. You will share breakfast and conversation (perhaps for hours) until you venture out for the day. Your hosts share an encyclopaedic knowledge of the area. Keeping you busy all day long for many days. The afternoon drinks and snacks will have you gathered around the house sharing tales of the day's adventures. After dinner you will return to the library for some relaxing port / scotch / whiskey before retiring in your comfortable bed for the night. There isn't much missing from the experience at Terragong. It's thoroughly enjoyable and a wonderful break from the bustle of Sydney. The green hills will quickly fade any memories of work. You will feel a million miles away from Sydney.
