I
have
been
buying
pies
and
sausage
rolls
on
Saturday's
from
here
for
many
years.
Today
I
encountered
the
owner
Tanya,
whom
I
had
not
seen
before.
On
entering
the
store,
there
was
one
customer
and
one
server,
they
were
deep
in
conversation
about
COVID.
The
server
was
making
a
sandwich
for
the
customer,
but
She
was
more
enaged
in
the
conversation
that
the
sandwich
making.
After
waiting
patiently
for
5
minutes,
of
not
being
acknowledged
on
entry
or
in
the
time
I
had
been
waiting,
and
through
a
cash
($20
bill)
transaction
for
a
sandwich,
that
itself
took
a
good
minute
and
a
half,
and
then
the
conversation
continued
on
without
any
acknowledgement
of
my
presence.
I
walked
out,
with
out
saying
a
word.
I
telephoned
a
couple
of
minutes
after,
bedwildered
at
the
service
I
had
just
received
and
to
see
if
I
could
speak
to
the
manager,
only
to
find
that
the
service
I
had
received
was
from
the
owner!
The
owner
then
proceeded
to
tell
me
that
I
needed
to
be
patient
and
that
she
was
glad
that
I
had
walked
out?
This
is
a
truly
bizarre
approach
to
customer
service.
