Service NSW

State government office

šŸ˜  Iā€™m not one to ever make reviews on here but this was ridiculous. Been there twice, both times Iā€™ve left without the help I needed. Today I came in to renew my RSA. All I needed was a photo. While lining up, a person asked if I had the required ID, I showed him and he said thatā€™s great and all good.... People often mention test, service, driving, people, good, told, staff, customer, times, needed,

Iā€™m not one to ever make reviews on here but this was ridiculous. Been there twice, both times Iā€™ve left without the help I needed. Today I came in to renew my RSA. All I needed was a photo. While lining up, a person asked if I had the required ID, I showed him and he said thatā€™s great and all good. I waited for 40 minutes while they served people behind me in line. Then when my number was called I went to the desk, the lady did not say anything to me. Did not reply to me saying hello. When I started to tell her what I needed help with, she cut me off and told me ā€˜Iā€™ve locked myself out of my account. You need to go sit back down.ā€™ I sat back down, 12 people who were behind me in line were called up, 2 of whom were successfully served by the woman who I had been told had ā€˜locked herself out of her accountā€™. I asked for help from another lady who went to the woman I had previously spoken to to ask what the issue was. Nothing came of that. I waited another 20 minutes, was called to another desk. Here, the man told me my IDā€™s were not good enough and he couldnā€™t help me. Didnā€™t offer any more assistance, just told me I could ā€˜fill out a survey on my way out if I wanted toā€™. Absolutely fuming

Leon is definitely the most unfair driving tester, he should honestly be ashamed. This has to be one of the most unorganised service NSW centres. Avoid this place at all costs.

Donā€™t go here. Their staff are very rude and condescending. One of the staff named George, who was one of their driving test staff was already very angry before weā€™ve even started the test because the guy who was supposed to do my driving test took a sick leave, and George ended up having to do it. Despite me being polite and nice to him, he was already swearing at me before weā€™ve even started the test. 50% of the words that came out of his mouth were swear words. He said that all the people who wants to take the driving test including me are ā€œf wordā€ and ā€œs wordā€ I canā€™t believe that someone working at service NSW would do that.

Unfortunately Iā€™m very disappointed with my experience with instructor named Leon. Without going into too much details, Iā€™d simply not recommend to take your driving test in this brunch and with this particular instructor. Especially if you are a young female driver.

Did the driving test here with one of the little white officers. He just barely failed the test with a stupid reason. I went through Botany industry area, and he said I was doing speeding. But as I knew my limit was not even reach 40., which was 40km. It seems like he did it purposely. Before me , there were few people who failed with stupid headcheck, too. Couldn't remember the name of the officer, Oh well, how they make money failed everyone to get people doing more than 2 3 times. It's horrible. Thanks for supporting!

Was discriminated against by Sara at Services NSW Botany regarding allowing my service dog to enter the facility. She argued with me she said that there are customers that come in and scared or dogs and I need to consider this. My dog is an Assistance Animal under GHAD so he holds full public access rights.

This review is without prejudice and is not totally negative although the overall quality of service from this business is absolutely disgraceful. I choose this business due to its early 8:00am opening and the 5:30pm closing time and open car park because it is convenient for me. Please be mindful the security guards are instructed to close the doors earlier than 5:30pm and the security guard will deny entry to the car park and front counter from 5:15pm so I suggest you plan accordingly. The concierge was polite and comparatively the best part of the whole interaction at this business. They usually smile, ask your reason for attending and issue you with a ticket. Wait times are long due most likely due to under resourcing and poor staff training. It is my experience with this business that the staff and especially the supervisors need training in their own basic process and procedure. You may get lucky and find a worker who knows what they are doing, I have only found one at this business and she usually sits at the first mobility desk. I consider the supervisors to be arrogant and I find their choice of language to be condescending. They donā€™t appear to respect their staff or clients. It is clear that the staff at this business fail to grasp the basic knowledge of the tasks they need to perform, this may be due to being poorly trained, incompetent or indifferent. The office fit out appears very tired and the multiple waiting chairs have peculiar staining. If you donā€™t need to take advantage of the rare opening hours and can visit another service centre I suggest you do so to maintain your sanity.

Wow the service is really bad here, I literally had the lady raise her voice at me with people looking at me because I didnā€™t know that I had to bring my blue slip paperwork with me, she proceeded to talk down to me like I donā€™t know what a blue slip is, ā€œyou need the actual blue slip, do you know what a blue slip is? Do you understandā€ in a demeaning tone, what a cow. Employ better people, I did not deserve this I had no attitude whatsoever I was not told this prior when I reached out to online customer service so donā€™t be rude. Horrible people skills, if fire her if I were you, not suited for customer service at all.

Parking warning...make sure you have your wits about you if you plan on parking in the Services NSW parking lot. There aren't many spaces and people get extremely pushy trying to get in. One driver collided with another car whilst I was there and drivers were yelling at each other in all directions. Once you are in the door it gets a whole lot easier. First you need to 'check in' via customer service at the check in kiosk. Then they assign you a number/stub and after that you can take a seat. Suggest going on a Tuesday between 9am - 10am just maybe not after a long weekend!

Despite a perfect score, instructors will fail you on technicalities. For example, if you slow down in a construction zone to 40km/hr you canā€™t return to the normal speed limit until you drive past another speed limit sign, even when youā€™ve passed through a major intersection and are well beyond the construction area. Additionally the instructor confirmed that you have to remain at 40km regardless of how far away the next speed sign is, which upon looking up the rules is not true. Book elsewhere and save yourself the time and money.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this Service NSW due to the unprofessional and unfriendly behavior of their customer service representatives. Specifically, when I visited the location, Mariana demanded that I provide a document that was not required to obtain my ticket. I have visited several other Service NSW locations, and none of them have ever asked for such a document. After providing the requested document, Sony demanded another document that was also not necessary. This seemed like a deliberate attempt to make things difficult for me. It's ironic that when I visited another Service NSW location in the afternoon, I didn't have all the required documents, yet I was still able to complete my transaction smoothly. The unprofessional behavior and deliberate attempts to make things difficult made me feel unwelcome and frustrated. As a customer, I expect to be treated with respect and courtesy, and I hope that Service NSW takes steps to ensure that their representatives are more professional and customer-friendly in the future.

The toilets are absolutely disgusting at RTA Botany. I have been here over the last 2 years with my other two kids as well as today and there should be a health warning. No toilet roll no soap and per all over the floor as well as in toilet. I spoke to a lady employee on the door and she said it is your choice to use it and not run by them. Not good enough disgusting.

I can't speak for all services, but they are efficient when it comes to license renewal. Went in, got a ticket, and got called straight away. The whole process took less than 5 min. It took ages at the CBD centre.

The team were very efficient and tried very hard to get answers for my unusual request (trying to get permits to run a race car on closed public roads for a filming project). Itā€™s a very busy RTA but the service team at check-in move through queues pretty quickly On-site parking is available including accessible parking and ramp entrance

Was assisted by Babul, Them, and Sara. They were all so friendly and helpful. Can't recommend this place enough! Such good professional service. Got everything I needed quickly even though the center was quite busy when I visited on a Thursday lunchtime.

I've visited here multiple times for various needs including registration and driving tests. My experiences have largely been positive. A special shout-out to Anil, who, while he did fail me on one occasion, provided fair and constructive feedback that helped me pass on the next try. His guidance has been very beneficial. As a whole, the service provided here is commendable. However, there is room for improvement. During peak hours, the place can become quite crowded, and the staff on hand seem insufficient to manage the rush effectively. I believe enhancing staffing during these high-traffic times would greatly improve the customer experience. Keep up the good work, and looking forward to more streamlined service during rush hours in the future!

Really good experience. Staff is patience and friendly, they answer questions, they guide you through the steps of whatever you need to do. I took the driving test with them; I'm foreign, I drove for 22 years before moving to Australia, I took the test in Brookvale and Bondi Junction and in both Services reject my license for minor errors (always got a score in between 80% and 90%) and literally told me that " I may know how to drive in my country but I didn't know how to drive in Australia". I book the test here because I needed the license and they had the nearest time available (good thing #1) and the instructors were absolutely respectful, I made a mistake in my first test and the instructor gave the perfect feedback to practice and pass my second test (good thing #2).The feedback included those things that I was doing wrong and those things that I was doing right and didn't need to improve. My instructor was Robbie, but watching the other instructors they all had the same nice manners. 100% recommended.

Huge thanks to Rob for conducting my driving test and giving such easy instructions to listen to, and to the people who made the sign-in process and licence process so easy and stress free! (Huge apologies I may have selected the angry face for the barcode feedback instead of the happy face by accident!!) 5 stars all around

I called the hotline no.and asked for the orange rulers folder. The person asked me where is the nearest rta nearest me. Which is botany.they put me on hold and contacted botany rta. they said just go and visit them and there was no price so itā€™s for free. and ask for this personā€¦but upon arriving there..they canā€™t give me the folder cause they donā€™t know if itā€™s for free or how much it cost..wasted my time just to go & queue up!

I passed my first driving test here. I was very nervous but the examinator was very nice and friendly so I calmed down. The service desk ladies are also very nice and cheerful. Thank you Botany team :)

Service NSW is a great reminder of what life was like before digital services existed. Step back in time and experience the lack of interconnectivity between departments, hope that the obscure department you need is open when you need it, and prepare to scream into the abyss when youā€™re told the department probably wonā€™t answer the phone. For a task that should be easily completed online I found myself returning again and again (6 times so far), please donā€™t make me come back!

Went here to transfer my uk licence to Australian. All of the staff were so helpful and friendly and made the whole procedure easy and relaxing, I couldn't thank them enough. I think the bad reviews are just from people who fail their driving test here and take their anger out with a negative review.

The girl who greeted me at the door , Frozen was her name was darn rude and very abrupt. I thought her personality , suited her name PERFECTLY . Luckily the guy at the counter made up for her, he was lovely and very helpful.

There are many customer service which help us kindly. We can print our document there as well. There are many counter open, so we don't need to wait too long. Good service.

Bloody hopeless... Staff are lovely and wait times are good. But for the 2nd time they didn't give me all the forms needed for a simple transaction. I even got the person to double check with their supervisor. If my guys were this incompetent they wouldn't have a job for long.

Went to the Botany branch to renew my licence with paperwork completed, signed and ready to go. I was greeted at the door by a woman who was very ā€˜efficientā€™ and invited me to use a computer terminal to log into my Service NSW account to renew my licence - problem was I don't have my password memorised (why would I, I have my completed form and licence on me). The greeter asked if I had access to my email to change my password and again I wondered why would I do this? When I told her no I didnā€™t have access to my email she then thrust a ticket in my hand and told me to sit down and wait - which was a relief as I have a mobility issue that requires a walking stick and leaves me unable to stand in the one spot for very long. Once my number was called the rest of the visit went smoothly and I managed to renew my licence without further incident. While the greeter was very efficient she didnā€™t seem to have any critical thinking acumen which is a problem when dealing with a variety of customers with different needs.
