Yummy food! Good flavors, fast and efficient service, the dumplings made just behind the front counter - so fresh. Good value for money. Always leave satisfied

A great dining experience overall. The lady was nice and polite. Their dumplings servings were generous and delicious. Guaranteed homemade with no MSG, preservatives or additives. Xiao long bao was juicy and flavourful while siu mai was fresh and full of shrimps and pork flavours. Hot and sour soup was just average. Card payments accepted with surcharges while 5% discount for cash payments.

Sydney Dumpling King ticks the boxes of what I look for in a place where I want a quick bite: cheap and cheerful. The waitress was very nice, the food came out quickly and tasted good. Prices were affordable, making it ideal for an inexpensive meal for lunch or dinner.

Chinese dumplings are plentiful in the promised land that is Burwood, but many I've asked have pointed me in the direction of Sydney Dumpling King as their top pick! The problem with Burwood though is that there are way too many good restaurants beckoning for you to eat at. After several years of having this place on my hitlist, i finally made it here for lunch! The dumplings here are done well, and are very affordable. 15 dumplings will set you back anywhere between $16-19. Add an extra $3 if you want it fried. The cool part is you can order two different types of fillings in one serving if you like - something I wish I knew before I ordered! They have some rather interesting filling options here like pork with eggplant or fish with sweet corn. It's hard to look past the classic pork with chive and beef with chive on your first visit to a dumpling restaurant though... "One boiled and one fried please!" We also took on an order of soup dumplings (xiao long bao) and some pan-fried pork buns too. They have a house-made chilli oil on every table that you can add to your dipping sauce. The dumplings themselves were really good. The fillings were flavourful, meaty, and the skin was of a medium thickness, a nice soft bite to them. I definitely think the fried dumplings and the xiao long bao were the best orders of the day. I probably wouldn't order the pan-fried pork buns again though. I felt like the fillings in these didn't have as much of a pork meat taste compared to the dumplings. I wouldn't say it's my absolute favourite dumpling spot in Sydney, but the dumplings are certainly up there with the better ones! Would happily come back to try other fillings. 📍 Sydney Dumpling King, Burwood

We tried this legendary place at Burwood recently for a quick lunch. We ordered their staple e.g. pork meatball soup, pork-mince rice and their famous pork & coriander fried dumplings. We love all dishes especially the dumplings. Their prices are very good value for your money but you're recommended to pay cash since they apply a harsh flat surcharge of $1 for CC payments. This kind of flat charge may even be illegal in Australia. On a second visit, we ordered their famous shallot pancake, hot & sour soup and pork, prawn & mushroom dumplings. Their dumplings and pancake were very good, while the soup was just OK. On our first visit after Sydney lock-down lifted, we tried their shallot-oil noodles. It was nice dish, and we love the noodles especially. Don't expect customer service here but at least you get what you ordered efficiently. Ambience is reasonable for casual Taiwanese restaurant in suburban Sydney.

Ordered Pan-Fried Dumplings and Pork Rice Bowl. Cheap, delicious and comfortable food. Dumplings are fresh-made too. The waitress does not have any issue with communication in English and is pretty friendly. Pretty quick on lunchtime might get crowded over dinner time. Sittings are fit, not too small and not too spacious.

Edit: Visited more than twice now! - xiao long baos are amazing. Also tried oil splash noodle, taiwan beef noodle soup and fried dumplings. Loved oil splash noodle and dumplings. Great value for money. Didn't enjoy beef noodle soup much though. We had spicy chilli oil noodle soup and pork coriander dumplings. Both tasted handmade, chewy dough, and very freshly made. Will visit again!

We have been going to this restaurant for years, however the experience has been very disappointing today. We ordered a fried tofu (1st time) and turns out to have chilli sauce within the tofu, the menu just stated Fried Tofu (in Chinese). We asked if it can be changed as it’s too hot for kid, the owner just kept on emphasising if you need something different , you had to request this prior and wouldn’t provide exchange. The least you could’ve admitted is the advertise only printed Friend Tofu in Chinese and this should be updated instead of arguing something as obvious. Traditional Fried Tofu don’t normally come with chilli sauce within, a piece of chilli on top is fine. This is clearly false of advertisement in Chinese. I believe the owner has changed, its very disappointing that they would argue on something that’s clearly obvious which wasn’t cooked in the traditional way and wrongly advertised. Service has been very poor, please note on your visit. They would prefer to lose long term customers over a dish.

The waitress paid more attention on her phone than on providing services. Pan fried pork buns - the buns were oily, soggy and not crispy. Taiwanese beef noodle soup - the beef was soft but the soup taste was weak with a hint of sourness. White noodle soup with fish fillet, egg and pork bone soup - the soup teast was very weak; the egg was fully cooked and good; the fish fillets had a little fishy taste.

The pan fried dumplings were a bit soggy, but every other time it has been crispy. Not a bad place, love the cold dishes - the portions are generous.

Fantastic dumplings, they do live up to the name of the dumpling King 👑. My 1st time there was not dissapointing the very comfy booth style seating. The service was fast and the waitress was pleasant. Free tea is a bonus, I need to go back and try other items on the menu. Price was reasonable and they provide takeaway if you order too much. Easily 5 stars.

We were very impressed with the quality and the price of the food served. We had 2 types of dumplings and the pancakes. We thought we would start with those two dishes and order more as we ate! Boy, it was filling, we could not order any more. What is good about their dumpling servings is that it comes in 15 pieces and you can choose upto 2 flavours. Don’t be fooled by the size of them. They are rather doughy and thick, so they can fill you up really quickly. Btwn both of us we paid appx $20!!! The place was really clean, the staff were great, efficient and quick. Will be back again

Staff were attentive and super polite and catered very well to vegans! I had the no. 1 dumplings which were vegan and so so yummy and generous in serving. I also had the crispy fried tofu which was an entree but was a really generous serving size and delicious! The meals were very affordable and they have an extensive menu. I’m really impressed and felt super comfortable eating there as a vegan and left very excited and satisfied. Thank you guys! I’ll be back for sure.

Great value for money and delicious oil noodles. Celery and beancurd salad was a bit too chewy though.

The best! I’ve been in Sydney for a year now and I cannot recommend this place more!! The best handmade dumplings but the soup dumplings are I think my favourite. Simple, affordable and delicious 😋
