We were staying at Fingal Holiday Park. Thought we drop into Shoal Bay for dinner. We saw Shoal Bay Bay Country Club looks busy so that was a good sign. Upon entering very warm welcome service was on point with smiles👍🏻 The food was a very big let down. We order a rump Medium Rare, which came out Charcoal. Smoky Ribs it tasted like short cut been made , tasted like boiled rib with a brush of BBQ sauce instead smoke.

Absolutely Perfect! Been here a couple of times as we love to try everything in the menu. Be sure to come in early to get in one of the best seats upstairs by the window for the amazing view of the Shoal Bay Beach.

Cocktail was nice but that's about it. Carpaccio was left too long so it got a bit over cooked. Octopus was definitely over cooked, was like eating rubber. Ribs was a bit dry and tough with a side of salad that looks like it's been sitting there for an hour. Based on the taste the ribs was probably just oven baked with no marinade and then finished by coating it with bbq sauce.

The area was spacious with plenty of dining areas inside and out. The restaurant area has spectacular views of the bay. We ordered the prawn pizza and mac and cheese balls which both were delicious. Would definitely come back here again

Absolutely beautiful food and atmosphere..my new favourite dish is the house made chicken schnitzel, chips and salad, gravy....yummy...my partner is now his favourite dish as well...absolutely huge plate of food given, an absolute treat!!

Great location, well designed club. Food was an absolute letdown. We ordered the fish & chips - batter was thick and gross, chips were cold. Swimmer crab pasta - pasta was undercooked Grilled Octopus salad - octopus was dry and chewy Would recommend for the drinks and location only.

Beautiful decor, along with a wonderful view. Food is reasonably priced & very tasty too. All in all, a fantastic place for lunch or dinner with the family.

The food is absolutely delicious, the restaurant has spectacular views and is very aesthetic.

Food is pricy but the portions are huge so it’s worth it. The upstairs dining room has an amazing view with a family friendly environment but when you ask to sit up there, they will tell you it’s a 45 min wait and suggest to sit near the bar downstairs where its loud, crowded. We had to pick up our food upstairs at the restaurant and I asked the manager if the 7 of us could sit up there since there were a few tables available and he instantly moved the tables to accomodate us.

I can only say the best,amazing customer service, food was so tasty, quick service and great environment, you need nothing more on your holidays. And I shouldn’t forget the amazing and friendly guy on the way in, he was so helpful and kind, thank you so much, you added more joy to our holidays.

Disappointed, couldn't understand when bar staff wouldn't let me change from salad to veges, although 30 minutes earlier I had changed from salad to veges. Considering when I put the order in the first time I was told I couldn't order because of a gas problem, I told the guy let me know if food gets back up and running, didn't get any indication of food being able to re order other than the fact my inlaws buzzer was going off. They ordered 30 seconds before me. Come down to have family dinner and we all ended up eating at separate times.

Really friendly staff! Great location (ofcourse) and had a really nice time during a really busy time. We had a request regarding my pregnant partners dietary requirements, which is always a scary thing. But they made it really really easy and a fun experience. Honestly it's the little things that made our little beach getaway so much better! And the staff here made it worth talking about!! Thank you!

We were intending to have breakfast but it was close to lunch so had a coffee and then ordered food. It was well portioned and tasty. All the plates were empty at the end and tummies full. Will definitely go there again when I’m up that way... thanks

Very fast service with a great view

We ate at Amos which is an AMAZING Greek restaurant based at the country club. Hands down some of the best Greek food we have ever eaten. Plus service to match. Opposite the beach at Shoal Bay and we got lucky with a beautiful sunset.

The food here was decent the portion sizes were huge, and there was a lot of capacity for seating. I was obsessed with their gravy, it was one of my favourite but they charged me $3 for extra gravy which was quite expensive. Overall, a very nice place to eat.

Great service, brilliant atmosphere. Food wise, ordered half the pork ribs with chips and salad. Whilst the pork was soft, it didn’t have the caramelised textured finish and smoky bbq sauce (as much as I would like). Would definitely go again, but probably not order ribs, especially at $44, it’s too steep a price to not enjoy fully. Afterwards enjoyed some live music which was a great way to relax and unwind.

Good atmosphere friendly staffs, clean and nicely decorated venue with beautiful beach view! Even the music put you in the most relaxing mood. With friends or family, or just enjoy yourself, made you feel like the time has just paused a bit😄

Good food, great location and ambience esp on the alfresco area. Pizzas and salt pepper squids are prob the best selection on the menu. Everything else is just passable.

Utterly shocked with the level of disrespect we received from the manager. Our table was knocked over by the sun umbrella due to a gust of wind, fell on top of one of us and when the manager came to our table, as per our request, he was totally rude and insensitive to us. Raised his voice saying "quick quick move your head" as he tried closing the umbrella, almost knocking the table over again. I interjected asking "is that all you're going to say? Quick quick move your head?" and he replied "I have no time for this, I have a full house here. Is this serious?" We said "yes it's serious. Can you see that cut and bruise?" And he replied "what fo you want? Another bottle?" and we said no, just an apology and maybe an ice pack?" The whole restaurant feel sorry for us. This man should NEVER manage a busy place if he doesn't have the mente capacity of dealing with a busy environment and stressful situations in a positive manner and politely! Never going back despite the good view. Next time we'll go to the game fish club next door. Same view and much better service!

Good variety for both food and drinks menus. We ordered a jug of cocktails, a pizza and salt n pepper squid. Three different places for pick up including one upstairs. Large servings and excellent quality. No bookings so get in early if you wish to have a choice of seating.

Relaxed coastal atmosphere with a beautiful view over the ocean. Great choice of affordable and delicious food which arrived just after we bought our drinks. Great for families, couples or groups of friends. There is a bar downstairs with a live band and big screen to watch sports on Saturday night if you want to continue drinks.

I just kind of stumbled into this place and I'm sure it's well known but what a great find. When I attended there were a couple of live music options, a good selection of dinner menu items and reasonable priced drinks. Will definitely be going back soon. I spent about $35 for a steak dinner, which was a mid priced steak, another $40 for a nice bottle of red, and to see the 8 piece funk covers band I spent about another $40 for the 2-3 hour experience, but there was also a live free covers band in the main lobby on the Saturday night so you don't have to spend as I did, I just have a flavour towards a bit of good soul music. Shoal Bay Country Club has got to have the most idyllic views. Parking is available, the venue is always clean and inviting. However, as a gluten free patrons, when ordering a naked burger, we received a meat patty, slice of bacon, some tomato and a bowl of chips. The cost was $28.28 per person for a "poor presentation" of food. Gluten free buns are widely available and at $56.56 for both of us, I would hardly call that a deal. Generally their presentation of food is fantastic, the servings are an "elephant sufficiency", and the wait is not too long. Kindly address the issue of gluten free buns because we love going to your club and hope to see that change sooner rather than later. Thank you for a wonderful afternoon.

We saw some live entertainment, had pizza for dinner and some wine on Friday night. The venue is lovely, very much in keeping with its seaside location. I must say, the sound for the band was really spot on. A few more chairs in the entertainment area would have been welcome, but I appreciate the size of the area naturally imposes some restrictions on this. Atmosphere was fabulous. Our pizza was on the sloppy side, but the taste was delicious. As I liked the sloppiness and my partner didn't, obviously this is a case of personal preference. We were happy with the amount of prawns on our pizza. The staff were really friendly, helpful and efficient. Great job! Down side for us was the prices were a little high, but hey, I guess they have to cover costs. Overall, we had a fabulous night out and will definitely spend more time there in the future.

I know we ordered nothing special, but the Squid was outstanding, and the Lemon Aioli was perfect for it! The other thing which is great is the views of Shoal Bay. It's definitely the place to stop by when visiting for a drink and a bite to eat

Whoever designed the menu should get a fat bonus. WOW . The roast chicken is a real stand out , we also got the garlic cheesy bread (INCREDIBLE) and prawn linguine

I ordered a vegan pizza from this restaurant, emphasizing my dietary preferences due to religious reasons. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, it was a pork pizza. This mistake not only affected my meal but also had implications for my religious beliefs and values. I had already eaten 2-3 bites before realizing there was meat on the pizza. It's crucial for restaurants to take special dietary requests seriously, and this experience was highly disappointing and disrespectful.

Like an adaptation of ‘Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde’ Atmos: Great food, great drinks (cocktails were amazing); the service timing was perfect; the waiter was one of the best I’ve ever had - fun, friendly, knowledgeable, responsive. (5⭐️) SBCC front bar: Incorrectly made and weak cocktails; below average service; bar staff (one in particular) with the WORST attitude I’ve ever come across (and I’m up from Melbourne where we aren’t exactly known for our smiles 😂). The others were ok, but the atmosphere was like no one actually wanted to be working. (1⭐️)

Fabulous authentic food at ATMOS Greek Restaurant - Great service and calming aesthetics. A really genuine and beautiful experience The only criticism is that all our coffees were cold. So if you do choose to order coffee, ask them for a hot one

Very popular (busy) pub/restaurant located upstairs with views of the bay. For the most part they serve "typical pub / club food". The meals are generous but a little pricey for what you get. Good atmosphere though and great views of the bay if you can get a window seat if sitting inside, or a position on the balcony that allows the views.

Nice atmosphere but seriously over priced food and unless you sit upstairs you have to go and fetch your food up a set of stairs passing the dizzy folks along the way. Our table downstairs was sticky with glasses left on there at least 30 mins. Steak was good but chips looked they were made the day before. Just a bit of service TLC wouid be good and asking customers to walk up and down stairs to fetch food is ridiculous at a venue like that

Fantastic food (breakfast) and coffee. Unfortunately let down by some of the worst service I've ever seen, especially in a tourist destination. Extreme lack of enthusiasm and downright laziness shown by all staff we interacted with took away from what would have otherwise been a 5 star experience.

We we weren’t staying here but ate here multiple times. Food was really good. Best flathead I have eaten. Good service. Bright and airy Big venue. Beautiful view from roof top kitchen. Recommend this place

Had a great Melbourne Cup event here. Staff and service was fabulous, food and drinks package beyond expectations. Loved we could dance to some great music. Can't wait till next year.

It was a good location and reasonably nice inside. It was expensive and you had to go upstairs to get your food from the bistro which was a pain if you're ordering for more than 2 people. Otherwise good experience

Perfect venue and the food was amazing. Unfortunately the hostess was hostile to us and left a bad taste in our mouths! We sat at a table which a younger male staff member confirmed was ok, only to be rudely approached by the hostess who reprimanded us for sitting there without her authorisation! We moved inside as it was windy, only to have the menus snatched from our hands and told there were menus on our new table (only 2 for a party of 3!)! Younger waitress then rolled her eyes at us. The food was great but this place definitely lacked any customer service values. If you go make sure you follow the rules!

Went to lunch today, had the grandchildren with us.. Food was average, signed in with Q R code.. No sanitizer, Was horrified to see staff pulling wet cloths from the pockets of their aprons, wiping down tables, no, disinfectant, no clean cloth.. Used from table to table.. What about covid..?????

Beautiful setting. The food was not bad but pasta was most likely precooked in advance and just mixed with the sauce. It had weird/woody texture and just tasted odd. It might have been undercooked but my feeling is that it was cooked earlier in the day and used for dinner service. It's shame as blue swimmer crab sauce had quite nice flavour.

My cappuccino was ok, but the eggs benedict were overcooked. All glasses for tap water were durty, I had to show the manager that ALL glasses weren't clean. Unfortunately the experience was terrible for such a high price during a empty period.

Perfect location. Dinner upstairs looking over the water is magical on a nice evening looking out over the water and the mountains. Have had many meals here and the dinners are excellent. Pizza is top tier sourdough wood fired pizza. Breakfast is great as well, though the servings are a little on the smaller side. Would definitely recommend. 80% of the staff are great, some are very slow and clearly don’t want to be there however especially the lady in the bar with the bandana. The wait to order breakfast is pretty rediculous as well having to stand in line for 15-20 minutes with only a handful of people in front of you. It is worth the wait though!

Went for a NYE 2021 night. We planned to order the seafood platter and a bottle of Chandon for dinner. Instead we waited in line for 2 hours and entered at approx 9:30pm. While in line, hungry, my friend and I asked the staff whether we could pay for takeaway pizza. We were told the kitchen was closed. My friend ended up getting a cinnamon scroll and undercooked loukoumades as the staff's alternative for our dinner. On entry however, the kitchen WAS OPEN and we managed to order pizza (that's all they were offering in terms of food). I found the event poorly managed and the staff unhelpful. With people waiting in line for HOURS, food should have been given to those waiting at a bare minimum.

Food were mostly tasty except for the salt and pepper squid that was over fried and became a tad rubbery. Good view to enjoy which having your meal. One of the lady staff (in picture) was very friendly and helpful 👍

The Food was pretty good and the atmosphere was great to hang out .The only thing that let the night down was there cocktail jugs they sell $35 each and they would be lucky to have 1 standard shot in a jug very disappointed with the drinks .

Went to mermaids for brunch this morning with the family. Good service, friendly and fast. Lots of seating inside and some outside with a view of the beach across the road. The food was nice, generous portions. Big breakfast was yummy. Coffee is very nice too. Would be nice to get a coffee and walk along the beach just across the road.

The best pizzas in the Shoal Bay, Port Stephens, Nelson Bay area hands down! I drove all the way from North Cove to have their amazing food. The vibe is sensational especially outdoors on a sunny day, you feel the ambience and are relaxed. It is such a pleasure to have been here and enjoy their food.

Good coffee. Service was not great. I wasn't sure where to order and out of 4 girls standing in the kiosk coffee area none of them helped me even though I did look like I was not sure where to go. None of them smiled either

Horrible customer service. No communication regarding table seating. Tables left uncleared. Noone could get me a high chair for my baby.

We had our wedding at SBCC and it was perfect! Firstly Nicole was amazing! She saw us originally when we looked at the place, and helped immensely throughout the whole process of planning. She was always there to answer calls or emails, and assisted for a date change when I needed it. The service was incredible on the night. The food was fabulous. I would highly recommend it, if you are planning to get married there. Thankyou for the incredible service, our guests had an amazing night.
