What a great time we had Al other free stuff for the kids was a super bonus on our stay and then having the luxury of a adults only pool so you could relax really was great. Would be nice if there was a spa in the adults part as well. Staff were amazing. The brewery tour was very informative but only goes for a few minutes not really worth $20 we thought we would get to o to the bottle shed and everything but it is a quick look in the vat and a talk and hen a tasting paddle which you can buy from the bar at anytime for $10. So good that there is free face painting and Ballon twisting on certain days what a great thing. The main pool is great but you need to go early if you want a chair. Love that they supply towels and the boys handing them out are so nice to have a chat to each day. I really recommend getting the hot air balloon package it is worth the 3am wake up. Your close to the chocolate factory and the wildlife park and the hunter valley gardens. We really enjoyed our stay there was so much to do within the resort.

Great location and beautiful resort with water park. My daughter loved the water slide and the swimming pool except both were way too cold, which left everyone crammed in the small spa. For the price we paid ($800 plus) for a night for 2 adult and 1 toddler, we were extremely disappointed that the staff advised they would be charging us for a glass of milk for our toddler. Having said that, the hotel breakfast was one of the nicest. Good variety of food and drinks. There’s juicer, pancake maker, and they are constantly pumping out eggs Benedict.

Our 3 night stay on 29/30 April and 1 May was disappointing to say the least. With your promotion of yourselves and the high prices charged we expected more. We have experienced more satisfaction staying at various Motels and Units throughout the country. You do not pass the “Pub Test”. Some examples. Where was the room service? The body wash container in the shower, on arrival, was empty, yes empty. Room service consisted of someone knocking on the door late in the afternoon to replace the towels. The WiFi connection was impossible to get, even with assistance from very experienced family members still failed to connect. General view was “forget it”, use your own, which we did..The lamb roast on the Saturday night was so tough one family member could not eat the meat and therefore left it on the plate, doubting the person clearing the table took any notice when told of why the meat was not eaten.Surprised in the crowded parking area to have a large pothole mostly full of water to overcome. Why mention anything more? Obviously we would never stay with you again and would not recommend your accommodation to anyone. We were in a group of 11 family members and doubt some would would not wish to comment but be assured we were not the only ones disappointed. Brian and Vikki Lloyd.

Stayed in deluxe entry level double bed room. Very clean and well maintained. All the hardware from water pressure to lights to air con are in tip top condition and easy to use. Add two very comfortable beds and one could not ask for more for a well priced mid tier hotel. Recommend you pay the $45 tariff for hotel breakfast for 2 adults. It is leagues beyond its price with lot of juices to choose from and a made to order egg station. Child under 5 eat for free. Kids club is $30 for 3 hours and is inclusive of train rides during school holidays. Size of entry level room are adequate for a couple with a small kid. If you resides in a suite or villa, they are not located close to the main building. This can be a hassle on rainy days. RT 19/1/22

Fantastic experience staying at this hotel. Service was outstanding and activities were plentiful. Golfing, water Park and adult pool to name a few. Bought a buffet breakfast and it was one of the most incredibly valuable and consistent buffet experiences I have had. The food could be made to order with bistro quality. The pastries and coffees were delicious and fresh, the staff were also extremely helpful in this area. Delightful time we had and wish we could have stayed longer!

Hotel is well managed with equally lovey and courteous staff. Tennis court is well maintained -we used every day of our stay! Breakfast buffet was great with willing and welcoming staff and had good produce and selection. The food area was constantly monitored, cleared to high standards and refilled. Barista was welcoming and happy to make your coffee as you wish… will definitely return..

Stayed here for the Australia Day weekend with my family. We had a double room with x2 double beds in the main part of the resort. Air conditioning was very difficult and hard to work, tried to call reception and was transferred to concierge that was no help either. Air con is set to 18/19 degrees on cold, turn it to 20 degrees and automatically switches to heating…. Terrible. The love bar and grill restaurant need to stop trying to be fancy. We want simple steak, chips and salad, not steak baked potatoes and peas. Gross. Steak was 7/10 cooked. Facilities are great and buffet breakfast was the best. Bit packed but expected for a long weekend. /

Stayed at Rydges for the weekend! Clean hotel with great location for wine tasting and restaurants. The amenities included gym, pool, golf course, restaurant/bar, arcade which were decent also but the highlight would have to be the buffet breakfast! A lot of variety and options of food/drinks/pastries to suit adults and kids! Its a good place to stay with kids as lots of activities for the kids to do to keep them busy. The pool gets super packed during the day esp if its school holidays. Lovedale bar and grill at the bottom floor has some decent food options and locally brewed beers to try! The only negative thing with the hotel room was a bit outdated but definitely tidy and clean. The room had a bit of a musky smell but bathrooms were super clean also. I also found that they didnt provide any toothbrush or toothpaste. I always bring my own but would expect to be provided some basic toiletries for the stay. Overall would recommend staying esp with kids during holidays!

We have stayed at this place many times and most recently under Rydges flagship. Upon check in, reception didn't even know the days for face painting. We were told it was on Tuesday and we would miss it during our stay (Thurs to Sun). But to our surprise there was face painting the next day. Also, there was no frog plush toy given to our 5 year old and had to ask if they still did this and only then it was given to our daughter! The room (1 bedroom apartment) upon check in had flies (moozies) and cobwebs around. The exhaust fan broken and electric kettle been one of the dirtiest seen at a hotel. It took a bottle of insect spray and for us to be out of the room for few hours while the flies were killed. Luckily we were very eager to head straight to the pool. The far and best thing in the hotel is the kids water slide park and the pool. Our daughter loved it and so did us. Our room card was somehow setup that another room next to it would open and we only had to swipe the common door. To our dismay we only figured it out the next day. When notified at the reception, they attended asap to fix it but with almost no apologies or acknowledging the severity of this security breach. The disappointing thing for us was that there are various rides at the hotel but only run once a day at the different platforms. And the time we were there, it didn't run per the time scheduled. Food is of average quality at the in-house Red Salt restaurant and the bar and grill is a good takeaway and drinks during the stay. All in all, a decent hotel but don't expect a true 5 star hotel service and/or facilities. But if you have kids and they love water, then it's water slide is one of the best.

Had a lovely stay here with my family. Service was prompt and friendly, facilities were great. Room service was good and buffet breakfast had a great selection of fresh food. Exceptional array of activities available for kids (we stayed in school holiday period). Loved the water park. We stayed in a villa which had all we needed. Only thing is the menu in the bar and grill could do with a refresh, but it was adequate.

After staying here 8 years ago and having a wonderful experience I booked a family vacation for myself and kids. To say I was less than impressed this time around is an understatement, we arrived to a fridge that didn't work and had to be replaced the next day so all of the babies food went off, upon getting into bed there were black stains on my bed sheets so I had to sleep diagonally, I'm not afraid of roughing it so no issue. But sharing our room with ants covering the bathrooms and having to fight them off our toothbrushes was one thing to then have to kill very large spiders inhabiting our villa was not what I signed up for. Upon telling the reception staff I received the standard response "oh we're very sorry to hear that, we would love to accommodate you on your next visit" Unfortunately there won't be a next visit or a recommendation to others, my poor son was scared of the bugs on his pillow

Our stay at the Crowne plaza hunter valley was amazing! Clean facilities and most of all very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing was ever a hassle, fast and friendly room services. Generous with complimentary water and milk. Meals and accomm were reasonably priced. Refreshing to see this high level of service still exists. As an IHG member we loved our stay, thank you very much!!

Wow! This place is huge, clean and great value for money. Perfect for family get ways as villas are stocked with everything you need. The grounds are huge! Parking is right outside from where you stay and it’s free. I have really fallen in love with this place. The 2 bedroom villa is so great. Staff are happy and really accommodating. A really peaceful or lively place, as you can go to either Pool A for the kids water park or Pool B for the adults only private pool, where it’s quiet and perfect for some RnR.

Well done. The number of staff and service was spot on I thought. Nothing seemed to be a problem. Breakfast was AWESOME, got the day off to a great start. Rooms big, clean and modern. Will be coming back with the kids for sure.

  • 3/5 Grace L. 10 months ago on Google
The food is good. The hotel service is excellent. But the bed experience is the kid's function service. The reason we choose this hotel is because it’s kids welcome. But when we go to the free kid's area. The kids club staff(you can pay to drop your kids off) get in before us to ask my kid to sit in the back of the train. Even we come to queue up first. Next, The staff SHOUTED at me, ‘Adult is not allowed to sit in Carousel’ loudly when I sat on it before I got any noticed or sign. I hope the staff in the kid's area should train better and not only treat their ‘value customer’ well.

My stay at Rydges was very enjoyable as the staff were friendly, the amenities were quite good and the buffet breakfast was exceptional. The golf course at Rydges is a good beginner course with multiple water features. The villa I stayed in was clean and tidy however it did lack a smart tv. Rydges is a good place to stay if you are a young family.

Took my family of 4 for a couple of days. Villa is very comfortable. Everyone loved the buffet breakfast. We played a round of golf, and found the course forgiving. The only point of disappointment was that the flame heater in the reception was not on all the time

We stayed at the Rydges during the school holidays and we were very happy with the cleanliness of the rooms, the service, the quality of food at the restaurants and the range of activities for kids. The only disappointing factor was the view from our room. There was no mention when booking that the room view would be a tin roof. Nothing else could be seen. As my 4yr old suggested, they could have put a garden on there - that would make it better. But all we could see was a metal roof. On check out we mentioned our disappointment and requested to be compensated however this request was refused because ‘we have already charged your card’. Firstly this was a poor excuse as refunds can always be processed and secondly i was again disappointed at their lack of regard for our complaint. Also to my surprise our card was charged at the start of our stay rather than the end. Overall we had a good time and were happy with the location and facilities however as we left we just felt like a number. I would advise double checking what view you be receiving before hand because after the fact noone will care.

If you're travelling as a family with young kids, booked in for a conference or wedding or simply want to play a round or two of golf with friends, you simply can't go past this place. Where to start. For the kids it has a huge outdoor swimming pool suitable for most ages and kids above 5+years and is from memory 1.6m at the very deepest section. Just off to the side of the pool you simply can't miss the water park. Kids will love this and simply can't get enough of the water slides or simply jumping from pool to water park and vice versa. Inside the main hotel you'll also find an arcade/games room but games are tap and pay or coin operated so if you have more than one child come prepared. There's also a fine dining menu as well as a bar/casual dining offering so caters for all tastes. I would highly recommend the breakfast buffet. Buffets per se can be very hit and miss but this one is strongly on the hit side. There's a selection of hot food offerings, right through to your usual cereals , fruits, toasts and you can even make your own freshly squeezes juices from the vast offerings. Outdoor guest parking is available and so are more townhouse style accommodation that is located just outside of the main reception area and building which is typically rooms over two levels. It's also a very short drive to most popular and boutique wineries so if you want to get around and pick a handy location nearby this is the place to go.

Staff don't know or don't care To give you the right information of the facilities around. Like we went to dinner they told us there was only one place we can eat in the restaurant above, we then were told by the waitress there is one down stairs as well . The room was hard to locate, no clear instructions. We had to drive in circles before locating the room.

Great hotel and fantastic service. Booked through Luxury Escapes and was pleasantly impressed. Service was great. Special shout out to Carimma (sp?) who was serving snacks in the afternoon on arrival and who we saw all through the weekend. Her hospitality and friendliness was a great asset to the hotel and made it feel so much more homely. Phenomenal breakfast. Will be back for sure….

Overall we enjoyed our stay here. However, it really felt like there was a lot of missed opportunity at this property. We arrived in the evening after a long drive and wanted to transfer our sleeping toddler from the car to the room swiftly. This didn’t quite go to plan as there was no one at the hotel reception to accept us at check in. After some time a lady returned to the reception but without acknowledgment of me standing there disappeared through a door behind the reception desk. A somewhat strange welcome. Vacant desks in the lobby were a continuing theme during our stay at both reception and concierge. Our room was a king spa suite. Layout was good and met our needs from a functional perspective giving us required additional space and pre-organised cot when staying with a toddler. Bit it’s fair to say it didn’t feel very “special”. The room was a bit tired with missing surrounds on door handles, marks / scuffs to the walls, doors and door frames. Also could have been a little cleaner with sizeable stains on the carpet, some residue expelled from the jets in the spa bath and a very dirty floor on the balcony (which had a terrible view!) Maybe our expectations are high, but it felt like small things were missing - no glasses in the bathroom, missing complimentary water, no slippers, etc. Our room also didn’t receive housekeeping service on the last day of our stay despite us leaving out the make up room sign on our door. Mentioned to staff, who didn’t apologise and mentioned they would ensure the room was made up the following day - not much use to us as we were checking out the next day! The pool and water park were great for our toddler who had a great time. We also had lunch out side one day. Food was tasty and good quality. However, when sitting outside the smoking area/ash tray is extremely close to the out door dining area blowing smoke across our table in the gentle breeze. Mentioned to staff at reception who were slightly dismissive. Beers on tap were good and $9 a pint presented good value for money. Enjoyed the buffet breakfast. Good activities for kids (carousel and dragon express train). Staff were friendly, efficient and polite for the most part, with only the occasional blip otherwise. Appreciated the late check out.

We had the privilege of working with Alyssa to creat our dream wedding. The venue was impeccable and her attention to detail made our day as magical as we had hoped. I absolutely recommend this venue and Alyssa to anyone thinking of a Hunter Valley wedding.

Rooms are ok The bed was the worst i had ever slept in. So hard and uncomfortable. Tossed and turned all night. Beautiful location Breakfast was packed. It was lined out the door. Was a nice way to finish a weekend away

Extensive areas of accommodation. Stayed in a King Villa separate to main building. Needing a refresh but bathroom has been updated. Steep stairs to access villa so ask for ground floor if that's an issue for you. Great facilities! Huge swimming pool and water park but the best part is a separate adults only pool tucked away from everything. Buffet breakfast is amazing. Staff very helpful. Great location to explore the Hunter Valley from.

My son loves it, a little big long queue for the buffet breakfast but they turned around pretty quickly. And the outdoor activities were kids favourite. Room service was a bit slow, but understandable as it was busy period.

Attended Rydges to hold an event. Room/apartment needed a refresh. Space for Event was great and staff communication around this was very helpful and attentive. Golf pro aided in fitting the boys in for golf despite it being last minute. Grounds are lovely. Pool was a welcome at the end of the stay.

Love the location, activities, and hospitable staff. The hotel's family-friendly too, and when we visited last Easter, there was lots to do for the kids. My only (small) complaint: the food available is a little too pricey for what you get (but some of this could be chalked up to the holidays anyhow). Worth a stay!

So many things to do inside the resort (train ride, merry go around, giant jumping thing?) .. unfortunately, they were all closed when we were there. We were informed by one of the staffs that all rides and children amenities will be opened during school holiday only. Thankfully the water park is so much fun and is quite enough to make the kiddies happy and occupied their time. On a rainy day, there is an indoor arcade, next to the hotel’s restaurant. There is also a pretty gazebo close to the entrance for children to run around and have their photo taken for a nice family photo. Breakfast was average. There were egg station, coffee station, a make yourself juice station - which was great and a variety of the usual bacon, sausages, mushroom, etc. Room was clean, customer service was good and the hotel also offered a $10 happy ride for young kiddies to go and find kangaroos every morning at 7AM. Overall the kiddies were so happy with the water park and have asked to come back to the resort asap.

Thank you to Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley for providing wonderful service over 3 night stay at Christmas. All staff were accommodating & friendly. We had room service for dinner each night & that was delivered within a reasonable time. It’d be great if you could add solar heating to the Adult pool. Thanks again for a relaxing stay.

Very impressed with this resort From signing in to checking out we could not fault this resort. The staff were excellent, the room was spacious clean and tidy, the grounds were well kept. We ate in the bistro which was reasonably priced and the breakfast was well received. All in all a most enjoyable experience. Would have no hesitation in recommending this resort or staying here again Susan & John

Had a beautiful Christmas lunch at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley. The array of food was awesome, and so well presented. The staff were courteous and excellent in their tasks. Beer and wine was included in the package and the Crowne served Tyrrells, one of the best in the Hunter Valley. The 5 of us had a beautiful pleasant day and if I make it to next Christmas, which is not expected, I would love to return and do it again. Yes, seems expensive, but how often do you get to do something so special!

  • 5/5 Anne M. 2 years ago on Google
COVID usually makes everything hard, but at the Crowne Plaza Hunter Valley, the staff made it easy and comfortable. We had a lovely Christmas in our Villa and hired a BBQ from the Hotel. It came with everything we needed so we didn't really need to leave the Villa as we had bought everything with us. We also got take away from the Lovedale which was yummy and ate it in the Villa keeping the family safe from teens to 94 year olds. There is an adult only pool which is lovely but the general pool, water park and spa get's very overcrowded which is the only negative in a long list of positives. Easily solved by putting a spa in the adults only pool, which would be excellent.

There for check in at 3pm to be informed room not available. Receive a text at 4:02pm advising room is available. Over 1hr late. Go up to room where neither key working to allow us into room . Finally get in, room is hot, no air conditioning on for a cool room upon arrival. I ring reception to advise them something wrong with lock as not locking. Told will have someone come and check. Wait 30mins no one comes. Lost so much time wasted with no room and key issues. Hired 2 bikes- gears don’t work, need to be updated. Had to change one bike as pedals didn’t move. Everything else was good with the resort. Room was nice and clean.

Great experience, upgraded to 3 bedroom villa which was fantastic. Staff are super nice and helpful, Breakfast buffet still one of the best here in down under. Lots of activities for kids from Soccer field to basketball, Tennis courts and table tennis and of course movies each night. Too cold to jump on the pool but still few kids were brave enough to use the heated water park. stayed here few times before and will definitely stay again.

Beautiful resort with great amenities. The villas have separate rooms with a bathroom for full privacy if you are sharing with friends. They also have a kids club and some rides for kids for kids to play all day. The buffet breakfast was one of the best with lots of options and specials to order from. Villas have parking in front of them. The conference rooms were equipped and good as well.

Love love love this place!! I come at least every year to celebrate my birthday! (For the past 5 years, Minus when you couldn’t travel in COVID times 😢) but the service is terrific, the convenience of the place is also amazing, having a pub and restaurant on site- who thought of that? So Smart. Also having the hop on hop off bus just across the road and they can drop you back at the hotel. Also a 24hr convenience store, 24hr reception, an over 18 pool, cocktails by the pool, tennis courts, basketball courts, a family pool, golf course, bar, brewery, they also now have a new kids water park! Seriously what more could you want?! Such a good place can’t wait to come back again for more birthdays and other occasions! 🥳🥳

Everything was great. The whole place is very well maintained. There was a brewery downstairs where we had lunch and also topped up our bottle for $10. I recommend this place for families with kids - the pool was huge with a very entertaining water splashing fun area for the kids. We had breakfast at the red salt and that had plenty of options. Parking was free and easy with electric chargers for EVs. Check in and out was very smooth. Our king room was very spacious.

Recent stay with the family was fantastic. It's super family friendly hotel with so many amenities for the little ones. We stayed there again recently, really enjoy and feel comfort every times we stayed. My boys have super fun with pool and new water bomb facility which it was not there before the bloody COVID. Fantastic place to stay for a weekend away up the Hunter. We stayed in a double room overlooking the pool with a nice balcony and two comfy double beds. The room was spacious and comfortable with a bathtub and separate shower. We really enjoyed the breakfast buffet that catered for the needs of all including a huge variety of cereals, pastries, DIY juices, fruit and yogurts, help yourself hot foods and made to order coffees and omelettes. The downstairs dining was perfect for the first night with a wide selection on the menu and quick service. The gym and pool facilities were great with a wide selection to cater to all needs. We enjoyed the apple pie for dessert as room service to complement our cocktails from the bar. Will definitely be back during the warmer months. Perfect location to explore all the Hunter has to offer.

We stayed at the lovely Rydges Hunter Valley with our children who loved the daily buffet breakfast. Realised the day after I left my small handbag and wallet. Its a Family Friendly Place and with Very a Friendly Staffs at Front, it was easy check-in and out. Rooms were pretty clean and peaceful environment. You can get complete home setup at Villa like locker, fridge, kitchen utensils, iron, hairdryer, microwave, tea, Milk, Dining Table etc. Buffet Breakfast with so many options at RedSalt Restaurant was Awsome and Lovedale Bar + Grill is pretty good. I was slightly unhappy with the drink they made but Beer and Wines are fine, food was awsome. Unable to Go swim as its Closed and Plenty of Roaming Space Around inside Area because of its well utilised design structure.

Happy with our stay overall but some disappointing things the kids water park was meant to be all year round with heated pool it was freezing my daughter wouldn't even play( which was part of the reason we came here) The kids club wasn't open (only school holidays) again disappointing had to go in and search the kids club to find out it's not open. The breakfast was very nice and staff were amazing. Room was nice and comfortable. Can't say I would stay here again quite pricey for the lack of things you don't get for kids.

Love the breakfast here. There’s so many different egg variations for you to choose from. The coffee here came with latte art. But there wasn’t any shops nearby the hotel

The estate is well kept and always seemed clean everywhere we went. Rooms are good, but the breakfast was amazing. If you are not sure if it is worth booking it, believe me, it does not disappoint! Swimming pools are nice, adults only were clean and tidy, and from a far, the family area looked just as good. The brewing tour, although short, is still worth the time, especially when you get 4 small tasters for the $20.

Wonderful Stay at a Charming Retreat in Hunter Valley During our stay at this lovely retreat, we had a fantastic time. The three-bedroom villa was perfect for us, and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the swimming facilities and water park. The beds were cozy, and the pillows exceptionally soft. Our special thanks go to Ashley at reception for making our stay so memorable. We are truly grateful for the lovely service provided by Ashley. We highly recommend this hidden gem in the Hunter Valley.
