AVOID
AT
ALL
COST
(especially
if
you
are
Asian).
This
was
by
far
one
of
the
worst
experiences
we
had
with
a
fast
food
chain
restaurant.
And
not
because
of
their
food,
but
because
of
their
customer
service.
On
August
11th,
my
husband,
brother,
and
I
came
to
the
American
Dream
Mall
as
there
was
still
a
little
bit
of
time
before
our
BlackPink
concert
and
my
brother
was
hungry.
We
figured
we
still
had
1
hour
before
the
concert
started
and
had
plenty
of
time.
We
found
parking
after
circling
around
for
5
minutes
and
went
to
the
restroom.
With
45
min
left
to
spare,
we
were
off
to
search
for
food.
We
love
Jolibee
but
the
line
appeared
to
be
long,
so
we
decided
to
go
for
Popeyes
right
across.
Soon,
we
learned
why
the
line
was
much
shorter
in
comparison.
We
ordered
2
items
on
the
menu,
1
chicken
sandwich
and
1
chicken
tender
&
shrimp
tackle
combo
meal.
A
simple
order.
Our
cashier
handed
us
a
soda
cup
and
off
we
wait.
The
soda
machine
had
no
ice,
but
we
were
fine
without
it.
We
had
ticket
number
23
and
they
were
up
to
number
97,
not
too
far
off
we
thought,
as
the
number
goes
back
to
1
after
99.
We
waited,
waited,
and
waited
for
about
15
minutes
before
we
decided
to
ask
about
our
order.
My
husband
was
told
by
the
lady
distributing
orders
to
customers
that
our
"order
is
coming."
So
we
waited
some
more.
I
went
back
to
ask
for
our
food
after
the
30
minute
mark
had
passed,
when
our
"fast
food"
is
now
no
longer
fast,
and
I
was
told
by
the
same
girl
that
our
order
was
coming.
We
began
to
worry.
We
had
about
15
minutes
left
to
eat
and
dash
to
the
concert
in
the
sports
stadium
across
the
street.
I
asked
her
if
she
could
please
check
on
the
order.
She
finally
went
to
the
line
of
tickets
behind
the
counter
to
check
with
one
of
the
packers,
saw
that
they
found
my
brother's
chicken
sandwich
that
has
been
sitting
on
the
counter
the
past
30
minutes
and
the
ticket
that
had
been
tossed
on
top
of
it
and
realized
they
had
forgotten
about
the
order.
They
snickered
about
the
order
and
put
my
brother's
chicken
sandwich
back
down,
returned
to
me
and
told
me
it
was
coming.
My
brother
and
I
both
worked
in
the
food
service
industry
during
our
college
days,
from
a
mid-level
restaurant
in
Greenpoint,
Brooklyn
to
high-end
restaurant
in
the
Upper
West
Side
of
Manhattan.
Not
once
did
we
encounter
any
staff
with
this
kind
of
attitude
and
disrespect
towards
customers.
If
there
was
any
backup
in
the
kitchen
or
delivery,
we
were
very
apologetic
and
accommodating
of
the
customers.
The
Hispanic
girl
who
kept
telling
us
our
"order
is
coming"
called
out
ticket
number
27
for
an
AA
lady.
A
few
moments
later
she
called
for
ticket
number
61
and
came
up
an
older
Asian
man
picking
up
his
food,
during
which
she
apologized
for
the
wait
while
smiling.
61!
That
would've
meant
he
had
waited
until
the
ticket
reached
99
and
back
up
again
from
1.
As
I
saw
more
and
more
Asian
customers
come
up
to
the
counter
to
ask
her
the
same
question,
while
customers
of
other
races
have
their
orders
fly
out
without
a
hitch,
I
realized
that
this
was
more
than
a
disorganized
kitchen
line
up,
or
an
incompetent
worker.
This
was
RACISM.
Thanks
to
our
cashier
who
personally
took
his
time
to
check
on
our
food,
we
were
able
to
get
our
2
orders
and
ran
to
our
concert
that
began
just
as
we
arrived.
The
only
reason
I
am
giving
1
Star
at
all
is
because
of
our
helpful
cashier.
I
love
Popeyes.
There
is
one
right
by
where
I
live.
But
this
place?
NEVER
AGAIN.
