We are from San Fran where the Buena Vista Irish Coffees are superior; this place is right on par. Not only do they make incredibility delicious irish coffee, the food is so good! I had a chicken Caesar salad, which was perfect. Husband had a burger and my son had buttered noodles...we were all very happy with our meals. Service was quick and our waitress was amazing. The best part of this place is the rustic atmosphere...almost like a speakeasy tucked under the street in a basement space. Once you are in here, you just don't want to leave. One of our best finds!

Since it was across the street from the Artezen hotel it as the perfect option- but it’s also fun and prices are as expected for area! I say the Adult juice box was perfect If I can just say that this drink made my whole trip, it is true. LOVED it! Need more♥ We visited a few nights so I could have more, and it was always popping and the bartenders are friendly- XO see you soon

I have no qualms about spending $16.33 for breakfast, but I do expect an adult-size portion for that amount. What I received today was an omelette hardly bigger than a metro card. I am somewhat impressed, as it appears it was made with only one egg, which I didn't think was possible. Unfortunately, a rather burnt taste permeated the folded egg as well. Barely worth mentioning was a tiny scattering of potatoes and two slices of bone dry toast. I was told it would be ready in 12 minutes, but when I got there 15 minutes later, it still wasn't ready, and I had to wait another 5 minutes - not a huge deal, but it didn't exactly improve things. Finally, all the staff I observed were unmasked - not sure if they get an exemption for being in a basement, maybe? In all, I recommend you skip this place for breakfast, and if you're concerned at all about getting covid.

Great place. Great Food. Service was okay. Nachos was good. Some chips were a little burnt. Burger was good. I was surprised that there was no ketchup or mayonnaise on an Classic burger so it was a little dry.

My friend and I came for dinner here and some drinks. Ordered the fish and chips, grilled lamb lollipops and a classic burger. The fish fillet was quite soggy and dry. Would be nice if it's crispy on the outside and soft juicy on the inside. The grilled lamb was definitely better the last time I came but this time was hard and dry, not juicy at all which probably was overcooked. The beef pattie on the burger was huge and well cooked though. Having drinks here is great though as the staff are polite and cool. No discrimination and they can be really fun too! Customers are also well behaved and it can be crowded when there's live games showing. Would love to go for their karaoke nights sometime soon!

A huge underground restaurant/bar! This is the place to be if you have a large party or want to watch a sports game or you just want some delicious Irish themed drinks/food. My Reuben sandwich was top notch! I'll definitely be going back, especially for the free whiskey shots at the end of your meal.

Great spot right across from our Sonder vacation rental apartment. Service was wonderful, good food. Nice mixed vibe. We did however let management know that the multiple wait staff were incorrectly UNDERcharging us, as we spent well over $100 in drinks and food. The first bill we got was $7. After telling the confused busboy/waiter(no clue where our original server went)all of our food items, 2nd bill was only $50. After telling him again he missed more items, 3rd bill was only $75. Still not right, but at this point it was time to check in to our room, so I just made up the difference with a really good tip. Great place, but staff needs to make sure they stop losing money on undercharging table.

We stopped in for drinks and had the best time! The service and atmosphere were on point and we could not have found a better place! I grabbed an espresso martini and then I had 2 more! Soooo good!! Thank you for having an amazing drink that is not found in most places!! The restrooms were clean with plenty of products! I would highly recommend The Irish American Pub for drinks if you are in the area!

My go-to bar in the area for after work drinks, food and catching up with friends. The staff is friendly, and the service has always been perfect. I highly recommend the wings (Jameson infused chipotle!), and grilled lamb lollipops. For entrees, you can't go wrong with any choice, but I've really enjoyed the chicken curry and shepards pie. Be on the lookout for the food specials too! The crab cake special is by far my favorite dish on the menu. Came here for the Giants game last weekend, amazing experience and will definitely be back for the next game. As an added bonus, the crowd and environment for the Liverpool matches have always been remarkable!

Love visiting The Irish American every time I’m in NYC. Khan and Mairè are absolutely amazing and so are the food and drinks! Definitely recommend the espresso martini. Try the Jameson Chipotle wings - yum!

I use to come here before the pandemic on Fridays for Karaoke 🎤. This was my first visit since then. Karaoke stated almost 7 pm but once it did start it was smoking hot, fun and great energy. Everyone cheered and joined in with every one. The reason for a 3 was the food and bartender. (We ordered 3 trays of Sliders (the tiny burger had more bun then burger, no favor but Edible. The wings sauce was a no for use. My friends ordered drinks and was happy with this. The slim male bartender with spike Blond highlight hair wasn't friend and a little curt. I would come back again with my friends for the Karaoke. I would say if you like Karaoke this is the place to go.

Hosted a retirement party with about 50 attendees. The owner, managers and service staff were a pleasure to work with. Where other venues were giving nothing but headaches, the planning was seamless and stress free. The space is amazing… massive actually, so even with a packed bar, our group was more than comfortable. I highly suggest the Irish American if you’re planning a large event, or just to pop in for a happy hour ale solo.

I loved my night here but it’s more like the company I came with made the night. It’s huge and we never have to wait long for a seat. Their food is decent, it’s like an extension of bar food. The drinks are pretty decent too. Their long islands are strong. Two of those in succession and you’ll be set for the night. You def need ID they ask for it as soon as you set foot. I suggest going to bar to get whatever it is you want the place is big enough and the waiters have their hands full. They have pool, beer pong and some other little arcade like things in there so just get drunk eat a little something bring great company and have a great time

Wonderful pub restaurant-the entire staff were so friendly and attentive-drinks and food were flowing and delicious. It’s super clean and the place is huge! Shout out to the guy at the door - he was the coolest, nicest guy. We came into Manhattan for just 1 night, and I’m so glad we picked this spot!

Great place with tasty food and drinks! The entrance is a little off-putting as it small and dark, but the inside is spacious, well decorated, and quite inviting. It's great for couples and groups of adults of ok ages, but not really a place for small children.

Came here for lunch. Ordered the Chicken Pot Pie 🥧 😋. NOT DISAPPOINTED AT ALL!!. As like most places I visit, I really like the local feel, u can hear the chatter at the bar, lol everyone is a sports expert here 😉. It's 1155am, so crowd is all at the bar counter 😆. I have a few hours b4 heading to the airport. Great ambience great staff. 👍

Went there last Friday night and Saturday. It was a great place with reasonable prices. Both nights, it got busier as the night went on. The bartender explained to us that the other foodservice workers hang out there after they get off work. The service was great considering how busy they were. The only thing was that there was a sewer smell Friday night. We got used to it after a few minutes, but Saturday it was worse so we did not return Sunday night. ...but hopefully they'll get it resolved soon because we'll definitely be back the next time we stay downtown.

The atmosphere is great. Good spot to watch a game. Service is great. Food is average. We ordered medium cooked steak but got it rare mid and it had a lot of fat. The shepards pie was good but not the best.

Liverpool! Had no idea what I was walking into when I went down the stairs on an early Saturday morning. I’ve never seen so many passionate fans for any team in any sport, collected at that time in the morning. Good beers. Good prices. Great vibes!

I recently visited the Irish American Pub and had a fantastic experience. The staff was incredibly attentive, offering top-notch service with a warm and friendly demeanor. I was pleasantly surprised by the quick service, which made my dining experience even better. The steak I ordered was cooked to perfection, I was impressed with their culinary skills. The draft selection at the pub was extensive, offering a wide variety of options. I couldn't resist trying the Guinness stout, and it did not disappoint. The rich and smooth taste made it a standout choice. Overall, the Irish American Pub provided a memorable dining experience with attentive staff, delicious food, and an impressive selection of drinks. 5 stars from me.

At the Irish American Pub, the chicken wings and lamb lollipops are a culinary delight not to be missed. The chicken wings are perfectly crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, with just the right amount of heat in their sauce to tantalize the taste buds without overwhelming. Each bite of the lamb lollipops is a revelation, with tender, succulent meat that practically melts in your mouth, complemented by a savory seasoning that enhances the natural flavors of the lamb. Whether you're a fan of classic pub fare or seeking something a bit more elevated, the chicken wings and lamb lollipops at the Irish American Pub are sure to satisfy even the most discerning palate.

Horrible service. Our server seemed to not be interested in us. He was extremely rude and only came over twice. Hard to track down to even get our bill. We ordered one beer each and got out of there. Plenty of other good places around. Do not recommend.

Thankful for this bar mainly because it was the only bar in the area that seemed to be open past 10 PM, still serving food and they have clean bathrooms. After a much needed bathroom break, we decided to stay for some food and drinks because the bar was so fun. The kitchen was open until 12 AM and they had karaoke until 1 AM! The atmosphere was so lively!

One awesome pub around downtown. Its big, very good crowd comes here. Love the entertainment, lot of screens inside covering all the area, there is a play zone which got snooker, ping pong and some other games. Excellent service. Food - 4/5 Service - 4/5 Ambiance - 4/5 Cost - 3/5

It was ok at best. The place is underground and is big and clean. The service was ok. The food was not the best but I should have got something other than the chicken wings and fries. The burger that my friend had looked and tasted better. The cheese sticks and fried pickles were decent appetizers. Good sit down Irish spot in the area!

The Irish American Pub is establishment of the Financial District. The service is always prompt and friendly; the food is always warm and savory; and the drinks are always exactly what you're looking for. Cheap pitchers, great people, and a clean facility. Been to better Irish pubs. This one I could hardly call Irish. Besides serving Guinness and having a mediocre fish and chips, it's really just a bar and grill. Pretty standard, nothing too exciting.

  • 5/5 Jeanne B. 1 year ago on Google
The Irish American is truly fantastic! Great food, fantastic atmosphere, and an exemplary staff! I always have fun whenever I go. It’s become my go to bar to watch games and hold events. They have a large room in the back that my alumni association has utilized many times. Each time the staff goes the extra mile to make sure everything is set up prior and there are no hiccups during. We held a large event for several hundred people at the Irish American this past weekend. Everyone raved about it. A special thank you to all the staff who worked so hard to make it the outstanding success that it was. Can’t wait to go back!

We had an amazing time in this pub, the setting is perfect, great relaxed atmosphere. We asked for the rugby to be put on and Michael made sure it'd happen. Con is the best maitre d/host anyone could ask for, he went above and beyond, Sarah is not only exceptional at her job she adds the genuine Irish feel to the whole experience. The pub is great but the staff here are are what separates it from everywhere else

Decent semi-dive with reasonable drinks, accommodating staff and a warm interior. Food prices trended towards the the upper limits of what is acceptable in an inflated economy (imo) but the patrons, staff, and decor were all very welcoming. On Friday night there’s karaoke held in a room off to the side of the main bar area which is worth checking out. I would give 3.5 stars if I could, but definitely the best spot within a couple blocks of that location. Tons of other food joints around if the selection or pricing doesn’t match your mood. <3

The Irish American is an excellent establishment! We hosted a company event here and it could not have been better. Maire was lovely to work with and made our event go smoothly. We had about 100 people, who all had a great time. The food is good, drinks are very reasonably price and the kareoke was so fun. I would definitely recommend this place for any events or after work hang outs!

I took my friend and his family there for lunch. The food was solid, and the atmosphere was nice, but they need some serious work on their service. We ordered two reuben's, and only one order arrived. Turns out the waiter forget to put the other order in, by the time the other order arrives, everyone else already finished their meal. Afterwards, we decided to skip dessert since it took forever for the waiter to get back to us. Then we asked for the check, it still took up more than 15 minutes.

The French soup was cheesy, with a rich dark broth. It hit all the notes one wants in a hearty tasting soup. The fish of the fish and chips was a large portion, well battered and served hot, the chips were boring and lukewarm. Able to receive a sample of beer before a full order. Absolutely delicious and allowed me to try a different beer than my usual. The restraint was quite enough to hold a regular conversation with friends. The background music didn't force us to scream.

Went after work recently with colleagues and found this place. There’s plenty of room and they check your temperature before you go in. There wasn’t too many people coming in yet which is nice. Some has large groups, but they were far from our table. I like how this place has two bars. One side had a juke box and one has a DJ. The server was attendant and nice. The drinks were decent. They had a few top shelf liquors available for $20 a shot. We’ll definitely come back.
