Read all reviews. They scam you. He overcharged me. Do not let him fool you. fries, hot dog, corn dog and coke for 20 dollars? Should not have been more that 15 but he took the money already. Scammy. If you look at other reviews, this is a common thing here. Do yourself a favor and charge on credit card and dispute it after. Report to HQ.

Went to this hotdog stand on 5th avenue location, close to the park on Nov 12, 2019. I went with an acquaintance who asked how much 2 hotdogs cost and was told $7.00 (i.e. 2 x #1 = $7.00). I pointed to item #2 on the menu and asked "Sorry, shouldn't it be $6.75?" He got quiet and seemed to unhappily say "ok I'll give it to you for $6.75". It was only after I paid and got my food that he became rude and said the only reason he's giving us the $6.75 price is because of my acquaintance. Again, I pointed to the menu repeating that #2 says $6.75, in which he raised his voice and he tells me he doesn't have #2, which I found to be very questionable since the quoted price isn't consistent with the menu (and may be dishonest practice/advertising). I'd be ok if I was given a decent explanation but the exchange was extremely rude and uncalled for. There was another Nathan's hotdog stand not too far from there, at Columbus Circle. I'd suggest walking a bit to that location for better service and integrity without the rude response to a legitimate question.

Overpriced, tasteless hotdogs. I got chilli with cheese hotdog. Chilli had no flavor, cheese was very cheap plasticky runny spray on cheese, that's probably only 5% cheese. Bun was a bit tough, not soft and fresh. All of it for 4.75... I could've went to 7/11 and get a hotdog for 2 bucks with way much more flavorful chilli and cheese.

I visited location outside Natural history museum. Picked this truck because they had prices listed unlike other vendors. That being said it was way too expensive for what we got. Not sure why it’s considered best hotdog in New York. Meat is flavourful but skin a bit tough and hot dog super tiny. Bread was cold. Vendor squeezes a thin lie or cheese or chili so not worth the upgrade for cheese or chili dogs. Chips are good thick cut although vendor poured salt on ours. $8 for fries? Why? Just disappointed as a tourist food trucks should be either cheap or great tasting it was neither. Would not go again.

It is my fifth time coming this location. I know that it is Centre of Manhattan, I know that this is Central park, but prices for fries like in restaurants of Manhattan or Dubai, but anyway I still coming here, because it is already brand potatoes and hot dogs of this place. We paid 50$ for 2 portions of fries for adults and 2 portions for kids. Potato was not bad., but it was cold. Khumoyun Akhmadjonov

For once I have nothing nice to say. Not only was the food not good (the fries were cold and not crispy at all, the cheese on the hot dog was dry somehow and the sausage... well it was a sausage) but the lady working there couldn't have been any more rude! She was on her phone the whole time, barely looked at us, charged me $2 to pay by card without telling me beforehand and when my friend paid by cash she had to ASK for the change, which the lady then threw at her. The Coney Island location is amazing but this one is just damaging their image.

TAKE YOUR MONEY ELSEWHERE. The reviews are true. This business is a rip off. The prices are not listed so they make up prices on the spot. They charged $18 for a chili cheese hot dog combo (combo being a few fries on the side). They said the total is $32 for one combo and chili cheese dog but charged $39 when handed the card. No receipt to show where the extra $7 came from. When asked about the extra $7, the guy just said it’s tax and service charge. Very shady business and incredibly mediocre food.

Lovely hot dog, pity about the guy selling them. Customer service not words he would recognize.

Absolute scam. A Sauerkraut hot dog meal is $8 I paid with my card and saw the lady was charging me $10 I asked her where the extra $2 were coming from “NY tax” she said. It would appear that NY tax is now 20% and we were not made aware?

There’re so many hot dog truck along Central Park, but unfortunately I went to this one. The cook was very unfriendly, and over charged me. The corn dog was priced $5-ish on the menu, but he charged me $8, saying price went up thanks to Biden; and also $4 for a bottle of coke. I was too tired and hungry to argue, but I regret very much to let him got me.

Chicken tenders seemed like they were cooked in old oil. Fries were under cooked and I threw them away instead of letting my kid eat them. My hot dog was good but small. $25 for that.

This guy totally ripped me off. I tried to give him a $2 tip on a $28 order. It came up as $200 for the tip. I told him right away and asked that he void the charge. Said he couldn’t and I should call my bank. I did. They reversed the charge. Then he submitted the receipt with the mistake and said I owed $228 for two hot dogs! This man is dishonest. Do not shop here.

THEY DONT WEAR GLOVES and pass off to multiple hands before it gets to you. Not sanitary should be shut down for that and that they’re Fraudulent. Zero toppings for over priced hot dog. Make sure to ask how much before you pay a soda and hot dog shouldn’t cost more than $6/$7 at Nathan’s

Great place to get SCAMMED. The prices all have tape covered over it. The guy gives you the food and says $22 for 2 hot dogs and fries. Then charges $35 as I saw on my bank account later. Stay away from these hot dog stands or you’ll be scammed.

The saddest excuse for fries, chicken tenders, and a corn dog I have seen... all for the price of an entree at an upscale restaurant. It’s hard to go wrong with fries, but Nathan exceeds expectations and delivers the worst form of potato known to mankind. I felt sorry for the trash can I threw them in. I don’t know where they get their chicken from, but the smell and taste were both so nauseating that I wouldn’t even want it in my compost pile for bugs to consume. If there was a 0/5 option, I would’ve selected that. But I’m compelled to give Nathan’s Famous 1 star — a charitable rating when you consider the taste and value of the “food” they provided.

I agree with the last reviews. Unfriendly cook „didn‘t have change“, then charged +2$ extra for paying with card without telling us in the first place. Hot Dogs were overpriced and nothing special at best. Kind of cute way to get ripped, but better get your snacks at one of the other food stands.

Was looking forward to having this after so many years. $4 a small hotdog was expensive. It was ok tasting only. Costco hotdog with a drink has been under $2 and it is at least twice bigger, just as good tasting, if not even better. Disappointing!

hot dog not bad on the other hand the seller very unpleasant, expeditious, no smile, blows at the slightest request and as a bonus attempt to make us more expensive, we claim the missing dollars, he disputes and ends up giving us back the money but not all, we take without asking our rest out of desperation of the situation. ashamed !!!

Went in search of this place but only found a cart across the street from this location. I still ordered a hot dog, ketchup and mustard only. $5 for a small dog is a bit of a rip off. And unfortunately within a few hours of eating it, I was experiencing extreme abdominal pain and discomfort. Actually became quite ill.

Usually I wouldn't care too much, but my experience at Nathans today was a very bad one. Combo meal (which apparently only contains fries and a hotdog, no drink) costs more than hotdog and fries alone. No need to tell that the fries were cold and soggy.

The food was not good at all. Our cheesesteakss were meat on hotdog buns with nacho cheese and our fries were burnt. For 4 cheesesteaks, 4 drinks, and 2 cheese fries we paid $130. The guy was rude.

$20 for 2 hotdogs is completely outrageous. Complete daylight robbery. For us that’s $40AUD! Back home we pay $5AUD for a sausage sizzle which poops all over these hot dogs

I felt scam by this place. Got hot dogs, cheesesteak and chili fries and paid $40. The vendor across sells hot dog for $4. Don’t go to stands without price tag, lesson learned.

The best hotdog I've ever eaten! Nathan's famous is fantastic food and a fantastic experience. Of course, as there are very tasty... there are also quite a line to order. It went relatively fast and it's worth trying!

The hot dogs are closer to 3.5* in quality, but I was pleasantly surprised by the fries. The fries definitely need toppings, but they are delicious with ketchup -- they soak up sauces really well -- and they come out hot and fresh. Even the hot dogs are fine for the price. (Yes, there are $2 hot dogs in the city, but they tend to be gross and they are also pretty hard to find in a location as central as this one). Honestly, the speed of service (they have three food carts at this location at peak times) makes this a great spot for anyone in the area who wants to give their wallet a break after hitting up the Apple Store.

Best hot dog in NYC! And Akramy Araky delivers excellent customer service! He insisted on my eating even though I didn’t have cash and I just returned after going to the ATM.

Ordered a corn dog and it was not even edible. The hot dog itself was dark with bubbles on it and the breading was not on it anymore. The breading was rock hard and I was not able to bite into it. When I took it back the guy was smiling as if he knew.

I ordered my 9 year old twins chicken tenders and fries. They both took one bite and said it was disgusting. My husband and I thought they were being dramatic. We took a bite of fries and it was the most disgusting thing I ever ate. It was dark in the car but when we went to throw it out in the house with the lights on the chicken was raw!! Not even half cooked I'm talking fully raw!!! I took pictures to prove it. My daughter has been saying she feels like she gonna vomit all night. Never ever eat at this food truck!! We all feel sick!!!

Stopped at the truck on 54th and 6th. Lady tried to charge me for a 20 piece corn dog nugget when what it turned out she gave me was a cut up corn dog! Got the price down to a 10 piece when I argued the cost. Of course I had no way of knowing the price of anything as all the prices were covered. Total rip off!
