I loved this entire experience. Staff were very helpful from start to end and the views! Oh the views were stunning and that was an understatement. Each of the 3 observation decks gives a new perspective and more photo opportunities. I am not a lover of heights but this building was perfect for seeing this amazing city without worrying about how high up I was. Highly recommend especially if like myself you love the Empire State building. The views are simply stunning.

Just here to back up other reviews - this is truly an iconic observation point to take in the sights of Manhattan. Sunsets are spectacular, but coming at night during the Christmas season is something to behold as well. The city is lit up, and with the Empire State Building in the forefront of the southward view toward lower Manhattan, it’s a live postcard. $30-45 per ticket depending on the time of day. Be sure to go up the stairs to the very top deck for the best views. No glass to obstruct views up there. And buy your ticket ahead of time.

Fantastic observation deck with iconic views looking back down Manhattan. Some actually prefer this view to going up the Empire State Building. It’s also significantly cheaper than the Empire State Building too. Really well organised too. Don’t be put off if you are asked to queue outside on the pavement. They take people in, in groups depending on your allocated time. Wrap up warm it’s windy up there!!!

There was almost no wait, the staff was friendly. Visibility was poor that day because it rained but it made for beautiful photos of the skyline and gave a magical look to everything. The gift shop was not too expensive although the selection was small. The elevator was fast, the bathrooms were clean, and although it was Christmas it was not too crowded. Even though it was Christmas it was not too cold. They followed the covid protocol strictly which is always a plus. Everyone was wearing masks and had to be vaccinated. Just check to make sure that any stores in the center that you want to go to are near the exit and are open otherwise you have to walk outside and all the way around. You are allowed to bring food and drinks and there are metal detectors. If you have a small bag you can go faster. Don't worry about wearing a belt it's not a problem. Overall it was a great experience and you get to see all four sides of the city from multiple perspectives and multiple floors. It is wheelchair accessible. On good days you can see into Brooklyn and even the Narrows bridge.

(Translated by Google) Stunning views of Manhattan. We went a few years ago and saw the sunset from the viewpoint and it was amazing. You can take spectacular photos, it is worth waiting and seeing how the lights go on little by little until you see yourself wrapped in the magical night of New York. The going up and down in the elevator is also very good.

BETTER THAN EMPIRE STATE BUILDING. The views were Incredible! We went during the “prime time” so it was extra for the views but it was totally worth it. It’s nice that everything is glass so that you have an unobstructed view of NYC. If you are looking for THE VIEWS this is the place to be. Everyone was helpful and the staff were very kind. I will be going back.

This place offered some pretty amazing views of NYC. If you don't mind spending the money to go into this place, then it is pretty worth it. I definitely recommend scheduling your date and time before just showing up. We did spend a good 30 minutes in line waiting to get in. In all fairness, it was the weekend, the most popular time is right before sunset, which was around 7pm, and there was going to be an eclipse. I'm sure if you book the same time any other weekend or weekday you wouldn't have to wait in line as long as we did. The elevator is pretty cool and the staff was very friendly. Can't wait to come back and experience it all over again.

Very nice view from the very top of the building (you can go all the way to the highest rooftop possible). Nice view of the sunset. The reception was well coordinated as well. I waited for maybe 15 min or so, it's not bad at all for a sunset time (4:20 pm in January). It's very cold on top so be covered, and don't forget an external battery for your phone because you're going to take a lot of photos and the battery is draining like it's water ! The gift shop has some variety, it's small though.

A wonderful experience here. The line at my allocated time was quite long, but moved quickly and efficiently. It may be worth paying for the VIP entry however. View of this magnificent city is outstanding. I do wish they had more staff to police people who "hog" tie view for selfies and time-lapse photographs and don't move to let others have their turn, but I was able to find spots with a bit of work. Definitely a great experience and a must-do when you come to New York City. Loved it. Go at sunset!

It is one of five skyscrapers in Manhattan that allow public access to their observatory. The entrance is inside Rockefeller Center. We bought tickets with an extra charge to enjoy the sunset, but unfortunately the queue was very long and even though we got there on time, it took about 45 minutes to get up to the observatory. It took the same amount of time to get down from the observatory. At the end of the walk there is a worthwhile souvenir shop. The observatory comprises three floors, located on the 67th, 69th (indoor) and 70th (outdoor) floors. Indoor and outdoor spaces offer stunning views day or night. You can buy tickets in advance, but you can change the date if your plans change or the weather doesn't allow for a visit. It has a similar view to the Empire State Building but at a lower height. Don't be fooled by its name, since it is the lowest observation deck in the city. But it is considered to have the best panoramic view of the city, just because it offers a view of the Empire State Building and a view of Central Park on the other side.

I surprised my teenager with a week in New York and this was a MUST DO on our list.. its an iconic building and of all the iconic buildings in NYC , somehow this has a romantic feel about it.. love the decor and the history of the building.. the views from the top are , as expected, breathtaking.. love the old fashioned viewing binoculars!!! There's the new Top of the Rock attraction where tou can sit on a girder over hanging the city! It's just one of the best places to visit! No queue as we visited at Thanksgiving so the city was quiet

After COVID-19 pendemic, New York City finally getting back to be shining again. For now is good time for New York residents to enjoy this beautiful city. Best city view in the world. Just like a shining but stronger forever diamond, never sleep and never feel tired to explore more in this incredible big city. 👍Highly recommend to buy the ticket for the sunset, and remember to choose a sunny day to visit, you won’t regret! Just couldn’t stop taking pictures when you’re there. This is why I really want to share a lot of pictures, but better to see by yourself! And also this is the really good location and best view to see midtown to downtown, and midtown to uptown in Manhattan.

Stunning view across the whole city. Would recommend getting up their early so it’s not so crowded. We arrived at 9am (first elevator up). There are three decks, all with little different settings, I liked the lowest and highest deck the most - but that’s just my personal impression. It’s also relative good for persons who are afraid of height as there is enough space and slowly reach the rim of the decks.

My son and I visited the Top of the Rock on a beautiful clear night. There are 3 different outdoor views and the best one is the last floor. I'm a New Yorker and have skyline views from Brooklyn but nothing beats it from the Top of the Rock. You'll have 360 degree views of NYC. The views are absolutely breathtaking. Although it was really cold, it was so worth it. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, there was less of a crowd and many social distant from each other and wore their masks. Upon entering, there are sections of readings of how Rockefeller started and built this incredible observatory. This is definitely a must see whether you're from NYC or a tourist. As of now, one free child 12 or under, per an adult paid ticket are free till December 31st, 2020. All you need to do is buy the adult ticket and go with a child 12 or under. You do not need to do anything else when purchasing your ticket.

Visit the observatory after dinner. I went a little late around 9:30, but I could go to the observatory smoothly without lining up. It's mid-August, but the observatory is cool, so if you're a woman, you'll be able to enjoy the night view more comfortably if you have something to wear. If you want to see the observatory at the best time of sunset, you need to get a timed ticket early, otherwise you won't be able to enter at your desired time. This time, I went to Top of the Rock, Empire State Building, and Edge Observatory, and all of them have wonderful views. The Top of the Rock, Empire State Building is a classic observatory, and the Edge is a modern observatory. ”

Incredible views of the city from a vantage point. If you are considering one high rise viewing deck - consider Top of the Rock for the following reasons : 1. Unhindered views of the city without any grills or glass restricting your view. 2. Only building from where you can see Central Park 3. Rest of the tall buildings seen from a vantage view. 4. Two viewing decks and great views of the sunset.

I’m really glad that I opted for the Top of the rock over the Empire state building, as I had a chance to witness the iconic landmark in its full glory. Sunset experience was truly magical. The panoramic views of New York City as the sun dipped below the skyline were nothing short of magical. If you could afford the extra price during the sunset time then go for it. It’s truly one of a kind.

Purchased the city pass and opted for the Top of the Rock observatory. Just like the Empire State Building I recommend reserving times for the first tour or at sunset. The city gets very hazy early to mid-day. Still get really good pictures, but they would be even better at those times. Nothing really bad to say about the tour. It’s pretty much what I expected. I do like the opportunity to go onto all 3 tiers of the observatory which is pretty cool. Each level has a photo opportunity with a great view.

If you like mediocrity and crowds, this is the place to go. If you go during a busy time, you will probably not have a good time, as it will feel like a concert without the music. I was shocked by how crowded it was, so much that it was had to even move around. The staff where also not helpful when trying to navigate around. The bathroom is difficult to get to and it was hard to figure out how to get back to the viewing decks, instead of exiting completely. If you have a choice of viewing decks, I would put way below Empire State Building and The Edge. Both of those are much better than The Top of the Rock.

This place is just amazing. 360 degree views. People were awesome. 100% will go back. The express pass is the only way to go!! Straight to the 69th floor no waiting in the huge lines. Cost double but worth every penny of it.

Day one of our trip to New York saw us head straight to The Top of The Rock observation platform. We arrived at 8.45am and the queues were already becoming long however, the entrance and ticket purchase process is sufficiently slick and before long, we were at the desk buying our tickets to go to the top. You do not have to buy in advance and do not lose out by not doing so. Access to the top is via a lift however, your ticket is not just for the viewing platform but there is also all the history of the building on display around the public areas. Take the time to stop, read and listen. As with all skyscraper viewing platforms they are not cheap but from the experience we had it is an absolute must and worth the cost. There are so many skyscraper options around the city it is hard to choose which one to do however, in my opinion based on my experience alone whichever ever you choose you will have a great time observing the city far and wide so don’t get too hung up on which one to do. In addition, it doesn’t have to be the tallest building in New York to get the views and have a good time although, they will all offer something slightly different I.e. viewing from the outside on an open level or enclosed in a glass structure. The Top of The Rock is glass enclosed walls but open to the sky. The weather on the day was perfect with bright blue skies and sunshine meaning our views were phenomenal. All areas of Manhattan, lower, mid and upper could be seen and even at a distance the Statue of Liberty and Brooklyn. This was a spectacular way to start our day and trip to New York. Let the weather choose which day you go up a skyscraper as naturally, the better the weather the better the views. Once at the Top of The Rock it is very peaceful and safe and I would assume that even people that are not too good with heights would feel happy up here. Once you have finished at the top, head down and spend some time having a coffee and eats around the skating rink and gardens at the Rockefeller Centre taking in the sights at street level and skaters practicing their skills. Get there early and have a great time….. it’s a must if you are new to the city.

Must visit. The views from this building are extraordinaries. On one side you have in front of you the wonderful Empire State building surrounded by hundreds of other skyscrapers and on the other side the amazing central park. If your sight is good you will also see the Liberty statue far away. Entrance costs 45$ each but its so worthy. The elevator until the top has a transparent ceiling with turning lights so you can see how you approach with high speed. Once you reach that floor you can come out to the terrace but there’s another terrace above where you can get through a stairs.

Great views from great central location so views excellent from north, south, east and west. We went late at night after short walk from Broadway. Lights of NYC amazing. The darkest area you see is of course central park with no lights. Tip - save your picture taking for the top level as no glass on that floor. Strange feeling that you were going to drop camera every time you took a picture.

Fantastic experience. Absolutely worth the money. Probably the only observation deck which has 360 degree view of the NYC including Central Park, Empire State, Statue of Liberty, and World One. Visited the place at 7:00pm when sunny, stayed till the night and saw all three views from the top (Sunny, Sunset, and Night). And all three have a charm of its own.

There are LOTS of helpful employees here - absolutely important to help guide visitors from ticket check-in to the elevators to the open-air observation deck (crowded) & back down to street level. Great views of the Empire State Building & Central Park. // I reserved tickets for 30 minutes before sunset - so we could view the fiery sun setting against New York's skyline & so we could watch all the buildings' lights come on like sparkling diamonds. We spent about one hour atop the outdoor observation deck. // TIP: You can save several dollars & reserve your tickets with third-party providers (Google to find them), instead of purchasing tickets directly from Top of the Rock's website. Senior-age tickets are also discounted.

From the "Top of the Rock" you do have one of the best views in the world (if not the best one). The tickets should be bought in advance and you do have a 2 hour time slot. The tickets are very expensive, but worth every cent in my opinion. The elevator is a show for itself. Make sure you get up to the upper level, there are no glass walls that lower the quality of your view. Absolutely breathtaking.

Beautiful views, definitely worth visiting at least once. The photography service is not very good: they do a poor job of photoshopping the background. They even gave us a wrong link to download our photos, and we had to go back to get the correct photos the day after. Tip 1: Bring your vaccination card, otherwise you're not allowed into the building Tip 2: If you use the photography service and they give a code to download from the site, check if the photos are actually yours before you leave. Tip 3: You can get the tickets for just over half the price if you do a little search.

The views of the city are breathtaking! I was mesmerized by the views. I would definitely go back! I need to see the view at night time. It was an amazing visit. I don’t know why I have not being there before. It gets a little chilly up there, specially during this season. I’m glad I wore a few layers yesterday. They are requiring proof of Covid vaccine; I downloaded the nyc COVID free app. It’s great you can upload your vaccine card and photo ID and proof of a negative pcr test, so you don’t need to walk around with the actual card.

One of the best decisions we took on our trip was to come here. We didn’t want to go to the Edge as is too high and massive. The Top of the Rock is classy and has the best views. You are high but at the same time not so far away to feel you are not part of the city and you can enjoy views of the downtown and Central Park. I enjoyed the best sunset of my life

What better way to celebrate a wedding anniversary than a bit of time at the Top of The Rock? The hubs and I decided to end of anniversary looking out over the city. We visited late on a weekday evening so there wasn't much of a wait. There was a small crowd, but still plenty of other people. Top of The Rock presents some of the best views of NYC. And it's open fairly late, so it's a great spot for dates that go late.

The main purpose for my and my Son’s visit was to get some pictures of Central Park and Empire State Building. Top of The Rock certainly didn’t disappoint. We wasted no time at all in getting up to the top, the toughest part of our journey there was public transport. I took the wrong bus (bus didn’t have a number and I jumped in) as was due at that time. Ooopsss That aside we still was able to access the Top of The Rock (even though late for our reservation) Entrance was spectacular little light show my Son enjoyed, nice grand staircase to a short line. Views we were not disappointed and certainly made our visit that whole lot more special. Thank You to the staff and to Top of The Rock for our visit.

Very nice view of the Empire State Building and of Central Park but the quantity of the people inside was Crazy. I think they should regulate more the flux. Was almost impossibile to take a photo in the First row. At the exit we had to wait an entire hour to be able to take elevator and reach street floor due to quantity of people going away

Now I’ve done all the observation decks, Top of the Rock is my personal favourite. The views are great and the open area without the Perspex glass is a cool experience really making you feel like you’re out in the open at the top of a skyscraper. Be warned if it’s windy it tests your balance.

Better to view the Manhattan skyline from here rather than Empire State. This way you see Empire State Building, Ground Zero and Statue of Liberty in one view. Turn around and look over the beautiful Central Park Area. Recommend purchase 2 entry pass. Go in morning and then at twilight on same day. Incredible.

Hellooo!!! I hadnt visited top of the rock in my previous visits to mew york and this time it was included in my city pass. I love the building. The area is also very pretty but the view is to die for... There are different level. Three to be more specific. The first two are protected by glass and the third one has a balcony fence. Not much to say about it. Just look at the pics and do not forget to visit on your next trip!!!...

Great observation spot. It represents a nice view of the Central Park and Midtown. It’s also a great spot for taking pictures of the Empire State Building. I especially like that they have a clear glass with some gaps for the camera instead of metal frames and you can take amazing pictures not obscured by glass or metal like at other observation decks. I highly recommend this spot if you already did the other observations decks.

Better than the Empire State Building by far. Finding the entrance to the attraction took us a short minute (hint, look for the red carpet outside the building). The staff were the most courteous we have encountered in NYC, but the process of getting to the observation deck is not straight forward. You will wait in three different lines, ride 2 elevators and 1 escalator. The observation deck is surrounded in glass panels but is clean and provides an excellent view of the vista without looking through a chain-link fence. There’s lots of open space to walk around, and a short staircase leads to a higher level of viewing. I recommend going at night as the city lights are far more stunning than a daytime view.

An amazing building and a tourist highlight taking nine years to build, the center was declared a National Landmark in 1987. Highlights include the Top of the Rock observation deck and NBC Studio Tours. A must do for every tourist and a must have on everyone's bucket list

The most Beautiful sunset I have ever seen. When I got there, the staffs are very friendly and helpful. They help us plan the time to get to the top of the building, the best time to see sunset. Although the visit time on the top of the building is only 15 mins, no one will let you leave. So, if you have enough time, you even could see the view from sunset to the night. It’s very awesome, the color of the sky changes very fast, keep you camera on and you will get some nice pictures. Plan you visit and check the weather before you get there. No one want to get there in a rainy day

It was okay. It cost about $40 to visit. I purchased a go pass with 3 attractions and saved a few bucks. I enjoyed the museum, there was an excellent film on the history of the building. There were 3 levels to view from. The top level was my favorite because it was unobstructed. But I also used my go pass for the Empire State Building. I kind of felt like I was viewing the same things. It was fine.

Definitely worth a visit. Before going up to the top of the skyscraper there is a small part where the story is told and there is a chance to take a picture with a green screen behind it (we didn't buy it at the end but it seemed to cost about 20$, on top of the ticket cost). The 360° view is priceless. Once you get to the top by elevator, you can walk up a few more levels and take photos from different terraces.

This is a must see for any tourist in NYC. The inside of the building is absolutely gorgeous. The staff is extremely friendly and everything is very clean! But that's not the best part! You take a fast elevator ride up to the 67th floor and you exit the elevator to unforgettable and unmatched views of Manhattan. You can see the famous sights such as Central Park, Chrysler Building, One World Trade Center, Empire State Building, and so much more. Pictures don't do this place justice, you just have to see it for yourself!

STUNNING views! It was a beautiful cold clear day and you could see for miles! I loved that we could see the Statue of Liberty and some of the other focal points of New York! Loved the history of how the Top of the Rick was made as well-very informative-a must do while in the City!

Top of the Rocks allows you to the top floors of the stunning art-deco masterpiece, The Rockefeller. We were using the GoCity cards, and the entry was easy, although slightly confusing for which line to queue when you’re outside the building. Perhaps a little signage could help. We then booked on to the next available slot and made our way through security and up to the observation levels. In comparison to both One World Observatory and The Empire State Building, the introduction and information on offer before you head up in the lifts is particularly weak, with just a few rooms and doesn’t really give much of an insight into the history of the beautiful building. However, this is soon forgotten when you get to the top and see the views. We went up at night, and it was spectacular. New York is particularly beautiful at night, and spotting incredible sights all lit up really did make you appreciate the city. If you’re not planning to go up The Empire State Building, then the best way to see it is at Top of the Rocks, as you’ll get an uninterrupted view. It’s certainly worth visiting this iconic building and travelling up 70 floors to experience a different view of New York.

We went here when it was dark, and I'd recommend that to anyone. It really shows that you're in New York, there's so many lights! Breathtaking, really. Staff were extremely friendly at every turn, most everything was communicated clearly. I had an absolutely wonderful time here, and I'd definitely go again if I'm in New York.

4. Two viewing decks and great views of the sunset.Great views from great central location so views excellent from north, south, east and west. We went late at night after short walk from Broadway. Lights of NYC amazing. The darkest area you see is of course central park with no lights. Tip - save your picture taking for the top level as no glass on that floor. Strange feeling that you were going to drop camera every time you took a picture.Great views from great central location so views excellent from north, south, east and west. We loved the place. Make sure to look up going up on the elevator. The views are beautiful both during the day and night. It does get crowded during sunset, but it is worthy, so be patient and kind to others. I recommend you buy the tickets there, it was cheaper than buying them online.

Gorgeous views. It is a bit of a pricey experience, but 100% worth it! We visited toward the start of the day and didn't have much of a wait at all. Security was very smooth and the 360 view was just stunning. There are a couple of different levels so that you can easily get that perfect shot without anyone else in your picture. Definitely would reccomend it!

One of my favorite views and destinations when visiting New York City with first timers. The 🗽🏙️🌇🌆🌃 views are epic, as you get equal parts, Central Park and lower Manhattan and everything between the two rivers. The staff are temporary so you do get some mixed customer service experiences, however, for the most part it is a smooth experience getting up and down. They do have ♿ handicap accessible options, with elevator access and ramps as you make your way up. However, it is a little busy at the top and can be difficult to move around if wheelchair or assisted. Don't forget to check out the multiple levels to get all the 📸📹 photos you need and visit the gift shop at the top and ground floor. Tons of restaurants and food options downstairs as well.

Top of The Rock is still a reasonably popular observation deck, with two open air levels and seemingly not too busy to get to, at least on a weekday. We visited in the middle of the day Friday and didn't have to wait more than maybe 5min to get tickets using our pass and that was it, straight up after that more or less. The views are nice, although the new skyscrapers to the north block the view of Central Park, so only parts of it are visible. Worth a visit if you have time to spare and are in the area as you can also look at the Cathedral nearby and Rockefeller building itself.

View from Top of the Rock was magnificent, absolutely stunning! But the place where you watch it from is not that good. It's fully open, and if it's chilly, you are cold. When I went, it wasn't fully constructed, there was a lot of unused place. They can make at least a small souvenir shop at the top or a small bar for drinks. Since there is nothing else to do rather than watching the view, it's overcrowded and it can be a challenge to find yourself a good spot, especially at peak hours from 6pm to 7, 7 30pm. And if you go to the upper side - really windy - so bring a jacket. I got a small cold after being exposed to the cold wind at sunset. Oh, and it's kinda hard to find where to go in order to go to the Top of the rock - maybe some more signs for better guidance.

Top of the Rock gives a great view of the city with the Empire State Building included in the skyline, but that’s really all it has to offer. If the observation deck at Rockefeller Plaza is the only one you visit, you might not notice anything wrong. But anyone that has also been to the observation deck at Empire State Building will see how the pathway up to the viewing platform can be just as exciting an experience as the outside deck. This part of the experience is where Top of the Rock is lacking. You can see more of what I'm referring to in our experience at both attractions on our YouTube travel channel: https://youtu.be/iZHBO69lPH8

We had booked our tickets to go and try the beam on top of the Rockefeller center. It’s been all over social media so my friends couldn’t wait to go all together. We were expected to see lines of people but actually it was the opposite. We arrived at the location at 2pm. We took the elevator all the way to the top and after watching a short film we were ready to go sit on the beam. We had the whole city on our feet! It didn’t last long. They said 9 seconds but it didn’t even feel like that lol. The people who work there gave us the right guidance, they were polite, smiley and patient with us. It’s an attraction for the tourists mostly. Good experience for once.

3rd time in NYC, 3rd visit to the Rockefeller. Highly recommended and a must-see view of all of Manhattan and beyond. It's worth paying two visits here, one at sunset (check times) and one at night... Or if you don't mind hanging around, go for sunset and wait until it's dark, because the view is outstanding 👌 And if you can, pay the extra $25 for The Beam! You can buy your photos as you leave, with the option of a decorative frame, which was a bargain. We had 2 photos and a frame for each, cost $25.

$20 to get pictures from a link that isn't easy to download and when you do, they dont come out as clear as you'd hope. So SAVE YOUR MONEY and take your own pictures. At the Empire state building, I was able to purchase a large printed picture with a cover/folded Keepsake holder. So if you're visiting both get your picture there.

Top of The Rock provides probably the best view towards Central Park and the surrounding Manhattan. I was very excited for my first visit some years ago. Now, when I’ve been there multiple times, it feels all the same and I’m as excited as I can get. The last time we were there I took my nephew and he was very excited because he thought that he’ll meet Dwayne The Rock Johnson, hahahaha. The vistas are excellent any time of the day and the year. It’s probably super exciting now with the all the snow in Central Park and the skyscrapers around. It’s also great in the evening, with the sunset or with the city lights around. I’m a huge fan of the Mezzanine Exhibition. It’s very insightful and carries so much history about something that we all know and love, as well as the era of when the Rockefeller Center was built. You can see the famous Lunch Atop a Skyscraper there, and you’ll have a chance to make one for yourself, but without having lunch so high above the ground. If you want to see New York from as high as possible without going to a plane or a helicopter tour – then this is your place!

If you’re debating which high building tour to take TAKE THIS ONE! The views are great, it’s A great value, you get to learn about the history of the building as well as the city. The staff was so friendly and nice and the views were almost entirely open air which during the late summer was great. No wait and you could see there’s plenty of capacity for busier periods so the wait wouldn’t be too long if it was busy. Absolutely would recommend this to anyone going

In my experience, the best rooftop observatory in NYC. Placed in the iconic Rockefeller building, the entrance walks you through the history of the building, and the economic impact it had on so many. The observatory is at 67th floor, spread between 3 floors. Instead of having metal bars like Empire State Building, this place has glass barriers, making it visually much more appealing. The rooftop has stunning view of downtown and uptown (Central Park) NYC. There are some props setup as well for tourists to make pictures. The tickets are sold based on time slots, to avoid too much crowd due to Covid. At morning hours, there’s not much waiting, you can head to rooftop within 5-10 minutes.

  • 5/5 Alina S. 2 years ago on Google
Amazing observation! Great that it has an open part with no windows so that you could take proper pictures with no reflection. Important to say that it had different levels for observation so that you could have 360degree view of the city. Astonishing view to the midtown and Central Park! There is no limitation to the time that you can spend on the deck-advantage. Recommended as an observation! Deserves its cost. There was only one thing that bothered is that we couldn’t get tickets online - it just didn’t process. We had to buy tickets on spot.

  • 5/5 Bálint L. 2 years ago on Google

Notable place, the building is not so impressive up close, an old skyscraper. The view from the top is fantastic and although the view from the top of the Empire State Building is greater, you can also see the Empire State Building from here. You can't take or set up a tripod here either, which is a big disadvantage for night shots.

The best open air 360° view of Manhattan, hands down! Only setback is the Chrysler bldg is obstructed (see photos). You can walk around both observation decks freely for as long as you like, which I appreciated. There are three 4min long historical videos to watch before you go up, if you like, and there are transcripts you can grab.

  • 4/5 B. L. 2 years ago on Google
One of many skyscrapers for tourists to visit while in NYC Though it could be argued that Top of the Rock has fallen a bit short now that Edge is open, it's still quite a view from the top. Though it's not ideal for sunsets, it is ideal for the cityscape. You have a great view of Central Park and any of the other skyscrapers. Sometimes it's more NY to have the Empire State Building in the picture as opposed to taking a picture from the top of it. There's see-through window panes up on the open-air roof, along with IG-friendly vinyls imprinted onto it for all your photo needs.

The extended hours listed were not correct on the site. I believe the late hours start 12/17/21. We booked express tickets for 12/15 and didn’t make it in time to use them that day. We were able to swap the tickets out for the current date with no issue, no extra costs. I will say the express pass is worth it. You’re treated like a VIP once they see the pass. I can’t lie we enjoyed skipping to the front of lines and having elevator priority. The views were stunning to say the least. We enjoyed finding the items of interest from the map in the viewfinder. We went around the time of sunset hours and would visit at that time again.

Incredible, breathtaking views across NYC. An absolute must visit for anyone visiting. Tickets are a little pricey but absolutely worth it. Other than passing through security where lines can get a little long, it was a smooth experience taking the elevator up to the top. Multiple floors are available for photos, one indoor and one outdoor, and food, drinks and merchandise are all available at reasonable prices (at least for tourists). Worth every penny!

The best place to go if you're looking for the best view over Manhattan. Be careful however, if you're booking a ticket online, you still have to go through the building's ticket desk before you can go up. So it's better be arriving earlier than you bookes your ticket.

  • 5/5 Wendy “Woo” C. 1 year ago on Google
Top of the rock was for us by far the best place to view New York. We visited all the others.... see separate reviews. I don't know if it's because we visited later in the day and it wasn't as busy 🤔 but it had the most incredible views, especially the view of Central park. The gift shop was lovely, and not over priced either. I would highly recommend this attraction when visiting New York ( we had purchased the city pass, and this was included in that)

  • 5/5 Laura M. 1 year ago on Google
Well worth visiting at sunset/night. The view was spectacular. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Price is fair. They have a couple short information videos that play while you are waiting for a lift. These were interesting but other than that you are just paying to go to the top for the view. I would say if you are only able to do one observatory/view point while visiting NY I would probably recommend ESB over this as there is a little bit more to see and do as you go up through the building.

Excellent experience and much better then the freedom tower observation deck. Wish I had come here first. Great views of Central park and the rest of upper and lower Manhattan, including a view of the Empire State building, which you don't get from the Empire State 😉 Interesting history posters and e part film to read and watch as you walk to the elevator. The observation deck is on 3 levels and gets better and better as you go up. Highly recommended if you are ever visiting New York.

  • 4/5 Lisa B. 1 year ago on Google
This was awesome! The building has so much character. It was pretty cool it had the three levels enjoy the sights from all of them! Had amazing views loved that I could see all the way to the Statue of Liberty and a great view of Central Park! Pretty cool that the ice rink and Radio City were so close! For anyone that is in the area you can definitely go in 30 Rock find your way to the bottom floors and enjoy the great food choices and views you can even catch the subway there! The people were so nice incredibly nice had a great time! Only one thing to mention wish there had been some food items at the top of the Rock! I didn't do my homework but thought I could grab lunch while I was viewing and unfortunately there isn't any true food items in the gift shop upstairs. My thought for not investigating a little further :-)

I visited the Top of the Rock observation deck in New York City and I must say, it was an incredible experience. The view from the top was absolutely breathtaking, and it will be a memory that I cherish for a lifetime. The view of the night skyline from the observation deck was simply amazing. I was able to see all the skyscrapers of New York City in one panoramic view, and it was truly a sight to behold. The city lights were sparkling like stars in the night sky, and I felt like I was on top of the world. I highly recommend visiting the Top of the Rock for anyone who wants to see the best views of the city. It's an experience that you will never forget, and it's definitely worth the price of admission. Overall, my visit to the Top of the Rock was an incredible experience, and I cannot recommend it enough. The view from the top was simply amazing, and it will be a lifelong memory that I will always cherish.

Wonderful attraction to visit in New York City especially if you are not from the area and just visiting. Allows you to take photos of the entire city while you utilize two observation decks. There is even one at the very top that has no glass so photographers have the opportunity to take better quality photos with ease but it still keeps the safety of visitors in mind. The elevator is very cool. Seems like a stupid thing to mention in a review but you’ll see what I mean if you go there. The wait time to get to the top wasn’t that long surprisingly. It was very organized and what not as well. Gives you the chance to see all of New York from a nice angle and make some nice memories. They are have some interesting items in the gift shop that aren’t too expensive if you are interested in purchasing a souvenir. Everything is clearly labeled and easy to navigate between observation decks and the property and the staff and security on site are lovely and kind people. Was such a wonderful experience. I’ve been twice and would recommend to any visiting especially if you are a photographer looking to get some nice shots.

Most people think this is the premier observation deck in Manhattan and I have to say I was not disappointed. I also must add the only other one I've been on was almost 40 years ago on top of one of the Twin Towers. Everything was very organized and lines moved quickly. I chose to go during sunset and if your plans allow for that I highly recommend it. Make it your final activity one day except for maybe a late dinner afterwards.

  • 5/5 LilyAlice S. 10 months ago on Google
I went to Top of The Rock a few weeks ago at 5:00 pm. WhenI went up there it not that much people at that time so I pick some quality spot to wait for the sunset time. Then people getting more cloudy when the sunset time almost come. And it's really worth to wait so long. The sunset light started and the building was starting light up. It's great place for tourists, couple, parents, or just alone. Highly recommended this place.

I really recommend going here on the first night of your NYC trip. It helps so much when you're trying to understand the layout of NYC for the trip, and it's exciting to begin with seeing such a spectacular view of the city you're planning to explore. We went just before dinner (6:30ish) on a Monday afternoon with the Sightseeing Pass, and there was no wait at all. Be warned, it's cooler and much windier up top than it is at street level, so dress accordingly. But the views are spectacular! You can get some amazing photos from here, either from inside through the windows or outside in the open air. We got some distance photos of the Statue of Liberty, as well as some great captures of the Empire State Building. If you'll be staying for a while and need to sit, grab a seat quickly; they fill up fast, and people stay in the seats for a long time once they have them. Also, there is no bar or snack bar here, so keep that in mind if you're weighing options for which observation deck to go to. I think this is an excellent one, especially because it has that view of the Empire State Building which is so classic.

The view is amazing. Unlike anything else you’ll see in the city. It is ridiculously crowded, though, as with any tourist attraction in the city. Personally, I believe that it is worth it despite the crowds, because of the spectacular view. Just be prepared to wait in line for a while.

Panoramic view of central manhattan including central park. The entrance of observatory is located in properly accessible area. They sold a viewfinder (booklet) for $2. They have only limited indoor space than other observatories, so you may feel too hot or too cold outside. The exit is connected to lower level of the Rockefeller complex and can enjoy some snacks around there.

The views were spectacular and even the elevator up stunned me. It was overall a great experience and I defiantly recommend going to see New York from this height. If you are going to go go on a clear day so you will have better visibility, I was not able to see the Empire State Building but it was still and amazing experience!

My wife and I loved it! A couple was shooting wedding photos, it was really cool to see that! It was an overcast day and had rained just prior to getting up to the top. We still had a great time. It was nice to see an above street level view. Also my wife is scared of heights and the glass barrier gave her a safe feeling.

Visited on Monday morning around 10:00 am -and the line was not that long. At the top, there were many people but I could move around here and there. The view was great even though it was cloudy day. Staffs managed visitors very efficiently and kindly.

Top of the rock gives you an amazing view, not only for the empire state building, but also on the central park! It was my most favourite view spot, out of the 3 or 4 that they have in NYC. In the evening it gets pretty crowded, and if youre not a tall person, you may not see a lot, so rather go during the day. But as a 1.80m human, definitely worth it to see NYC with all the lights on.

such a beautiful location with a lovely view of NY. you can see the empire state building & central park very clearly. got some lovely photos. the gift shop has some nice items although it’s a little bit pricy (as expected). some nice restaurants too! (i recommend the chocolate chip cookies from chip city!!)

View is fantastic! Price tag is on fantasy side as well though. Huuuge queues everywhere, at least if you’d like to see enjoy sunset. Expect some competition to get a nice spot near the fence on the upper deck.

Amazing view, but just 2 corners to take pictures that are usually long line to take a picture 📸 but I liked the place. It would be nice if they had tables or chairs to sit and wait for family members or friends sell affordable drinks 🍸 and water 💧 that will be a good 👍 addition to the place.

Top of the Rock is one of the most important points on the NYC map. Here you can see the city from above, not covered by bars and glass. But Rock has a lot of competition in New York. We started visiting the skyscrapers from there. You won't regret it, even though it is the lowest skyscraper you can visit.

Amazing view. I bought citypass/go pass in NY. I went to Empire state building at daytime, visited Top of the Rock at night. You can see amazing view from both buildings but I wanted to see Empire state building at night. If you have a plan to visit those two buildings, I recommend to go day and night. Top of the Rock, better book in advance. Super busy.

Loved it. Queues moved quickly. They don't squeeze you all in. Lift goes quickly but smoothly. The view from the top is breath taking. Better than Empire as you can see central park - cheaper too!

My husband, myself, and our 2 boys (9 and 11 years old) enjoyed this very much. We bought our tickets in advance, like maybe 2 weeks before our trip and toy pick the day and time you want to get in. It has great views of the NYC skyline. It is outdoors and there is a glass panel surrounding the view, but there are stairs that take you a level up and you can see the view without any glass interference. After you are done, there is the usually gift shop, plus there are some small restaurants and a Ben and Jerry's you can buy right inside that building.

Probably my favorite public observation deck because of its location right in the heart of midtown. I prefer it over the Empire State Building because when you're on the deck there your shots are missing... the Empire State Building itself.

It was such a good choice to visit! I really enjoyed watching the night view here. Better than the view on top of the empire state building. Be aware that there are a lot of people and book tickets in advance!

A wonderful view and a fun angle to see the city from. More expensive than I would have liked for a shorter activity. Although you could stay up there longer if you wanted. We were up on top for about 25 minutes. It also looked like the lines could get pretty crazy.

There are amazing views of the city. One deck has glass windows that don't obstruct the views but blocks the wind so it wasn't as cold as it would have been. The upper deck doesn't have the glass. Definitely wear comfortable clothing that's appropriate for the weather because you are outside.

This observation deck is pretty cool. There is some sort of visual thing on the ceiling of the elevator, but I can’t look straight up due to a neck injury and the audio was really mumbly so I ignored it. Overall I would recommend this place for the fact that it’s right in Rockefeller Center you can see all of the other major observation decks, to include the Empire State Building, and they already had the New Years ball mounted and ready to go when we went on the 23rd of Dec. I didn’t do the iron beam ride, but that was because I wasn’t waiting in line to be dangled 65 stories in the air, sorry.

Definitely the best view in Manhattan and the fact you get to go outside and view on the upper and lower deck just makes it that much better than the empire state. Definitely look online for tickets as it's a lot cheaper than buying tickets on the day at the Rockefeller. Agoda was cheapest I found on this occasion.

Excellent views of the NYC skyline, including Central Park and The Empire State Building. The Chrysler building was blocked from view though. The worst part was that we spent 40 minutes waiting to leave the building. Note of advice: don't do the beam attraction. It's quite lame and not worth 25 dollars.
