The warmth and good spirits of an Irish pub. First we came for breakfast, Full Irish breakfast and Irish Eggs Benedict. Both were amazingly delicious and hearty. Later we returned to the rooftop area for some satisfying Irish coffees and Guinness.

Enjoyed our "last supper" at Connolly's Irish pub again in "Times Square." A full Irish breakfast with the owner Bernie Reilly. BEST breakfast in N.Y.C! He owns eight establishments in the area, each named after a family member. We brought him the recent article out of the "Arizona Republic" that reflected on the night of September 11th 2001, at his pub. The Priest that was killed, was a frequent customer (drinking non alcoholic beer) and enjoying the live music. There are fire and police badges from around the world, posted on the walls.

Food and drinks were good. Lost a star for being seated by entryway (constant traffic and cold). Didn’t want to complain during a busy dinner hour with no reservation. Servers were attentive. Huntsman sandwich and salmon entrée were both worth having again. The local brews were pretty good too. The tiramisu was average.

I was so excited bc the steak dinner looked amazing , I ordered my steak medium it came over done like leather … chicken tenders over cooked don’t bother and green beans were undercooked …my husband had a wrap he said no cucumbers .. it came with cucumbers had to wait 30 minutes before someone came and checked on us so I can tell them about the steak , the cook was very nice he apologized , but our waiter disappeared was hard to find …the guy behind the bar was nice until i went to leave and he yelled to us in front of everyone there that he wanted more money … we paid our bill we tipped him even after waiting an hour on another meal cause they messed up but it wasn’t good enough for him he wanted money he said for all the staff .. I find that super rude especially after our order being wrong and gross . The potatoes had no salt or flavor … 4$ per can of soda …. Stay humble we didn’t buy drinks at the bar we had no reason to tip the bartenders too and that pissed him off sad bc I’m Irish and we are not brought up that way ..

Came in for a bite to eat at a spot open late enough on a Sunday night. I ordered the French onion soup and the shepherds pie. The French onion soup was super cheesy in a good way, but it was hard to bite without eating so much of it in one bite. The broth and onions though were not cooked and simmered all the way through, so I’ve had better. The shepherds pie was solid though I felt like the entire dish could have used more salt to bring out the flavors of the meat and the potatoes. Pretty good value though!

It’s a pub, so the drinks are good. It has a proper (nice) old school, traditional Irish Pub ambiance. The food were average. The Fish and Chips dish was decent, but the burger (pictured) was forgettable. I ordered medium rare and it came medium, understandably flavor was dropped by half. Service was fine and efficient. Prices were reasonable. This may not be the place you have to put on your bucket list, but if you happen to be in Times Square and want a place to hangout for food and drinks, this can be an option. ________________ ✅Weight loss specialist. 🔥Impressive Weight Loss. Connolly’s never fails! Authentic Irish pub that I’ve been coming to for 15+ years. Adding a photo of my most recent meal, the scallops with risotto entree. But you can’t go wrong with any of the irish classics that they have on their menu!

Wonderful fries, delicious Gaelic burger!! Beer was ice cold. A ways from home but had a great lunch. Mozzarella sticks good too! Server was pleasant. Hightoo table in a covered outdoor heated setting 4 floors up. Really enjoyed it.

3x 5 stars, nothing more is possible. We were there twice, both times very satisfied and full. Quality and quantity well above average. The Guinness is running and is good. The corned beef on bread is a huge recommendation, as is the shepher's pie. The starters are also plentiful and the quantity is more suitable for two people. Of course, the great service should not go unmentioned. A strong recommendation that still offers good value for money.

This is a very friendly and welcoming Irish restaurant and bar. There's a happy and comfy vibe here. I really loved the Paulaner wheat beer; not too sweet and not too bitter. The food was exceptionally fast. They have a fairly simple menu. The food was fresh and to temp. The fish and chips were pleasant. The beef stew was delightful. Reasonable prices for NYC. There is plenty of bar space and an upper level also.

Really cool and cosy pub. We sat in the main pub because there weren't any tables in the rooftop seating area and we actually preferred it there as the roof top seemed very busy and noisy - not a complaint at all, just wasn't what we were after at the time. I can tell up there is a really cool place to hang out if that's the kind of night you're after. My wife ordered the Gaelic burger and she enjoyed it while I had the potato & leek soup. We also shared some pretzels. Thoroughly enjoyed everything and appreciated the kind and attentive service by our waiter, Cian. I'm from Scotland and it's the kind of place that makes me feel at home. Definitely recommended!

Very Irish restaurant!!! The food was delicious, and also the alcohol was nice. The atmosphere was very Irish, too. People drink and watch basketball games; however it’s not recommended to chat with friends there since it was a little to noisy on the top.

This place is wonderful! We arrived with a party of 14 for lunch. We had no reservations as we had just arrived from Iowa and were walking around Times Square. The hostess didn’t even blink. She opened up the upstairs dining room, got us seated, and found a waitress who was equally amazing! The food was simply delicious. We ordered the calamari and several other appetizers and each was very good. The service was above and beyond. The chicken pot pie was a huge hit, as well as the fish and chips, and salmon with a walnut crust. The portions are very generous. There was not one dish served to us that wasn’t at least five stars. If we lived here I would frequent this gem all the time!

Tasty food and drinks from all cuisine, not just Irish, as you may assume from the name. They also have a cute rooftop area but it only has a limited street view. We ended up eating here twice during our stay nearby because it was a fun place with good food

Classic City Pub Bar The bar covered with all kind of Police badges is outstanding. A very good place to rest after a big walk, or a great hideout until the “others” spends the time at Time Square. Sports are an all well located TVs. Great air conditioner Well served beers, specially the Guiness. Good Nachos

Overall nice place, went to the roof top for drinks and nachos. Nachos are pathetic. I can’t even cook well and could make better nachos at home. They taste good but the chips crumble in your hand, barely any cheese. This is a disgrace to nachos everywhere. Overall not too bad. Pina Colada is pretty good, lots of ice chunks tho. Only went to the roof top.

We stayed at the Hyatt Centric so Connolly was very convenient for us. It was quick to get in both times we visited. Service was great and friendly. Chicken pot pie was delicious. We will return next time we visit NYC!

Great food! Great service! Truly authentic Irish cuisine! I was sad I couldn’t finish my food! Officially my favorite food in NYC! Conveniently located right outside our hotel at Times Square. Highly recommend this place!

Stayed next door at Merrion Row. Visited the rooftop bar, and despite their being a special function, the servers were very attentive! Had desserts, and of course some pints, which were all fantastic. They have a small balcony where you can smoke. Overall a great experience considering how crowded they were.

The Irish Pub atmosphere really worked for me. I am a pot pie lover, and Connolly's knows how to make a pot pie! The crust was light and flaky, the sauce was creamy, and the chicken was tender. I tasted my kid's fries and burger and had almost wished I ordered that. The loaded nachos were large enough for two and an absolute delight! Our waiter was a gem! The host was very welcoming aswell. Convient 3-4 minute walk from Time Square main strip. Next time I'm in New York, I'll definitely visit again!

Fantastic Irish Gem in Manhattan midtown. The food was plentiful and delightful.. service was quick, and with a smile, the only irish bar with a proper pint of Guinness!... great place to relax and chill away from the busy streets.. a must visit in NYC...

Nothing special - nice enough Irish pub. We had a reservation which seemed to confuse the hostess, but we got a table right away. There was a switch out of our server - maybe a mis-assignment? - and there was some tension between the staff. Irish stew was hearty. Not bad, but not special.

Coming to Connolly’s since 2011. Great place to meet up with friends around the Times Square area. This place is not a tourist trap - it’s probably one of the best Irish bars/restaurants in NYC. These days I typically come here to catch the Premier League football games. The staff is always super friendly, especially this who are Liverpool supporters! Darren and Lorraine are the ones I frequently see when sitting at the bar. Always great banter and service. Friendly individuals. The food is great! I haven’t heard a single person I took here complain about their meal.

The atmosphere was good, classic Irish pub. However, the cocktail was so bad - I couldn’t even drink it. It tasted like vodka and water. The customer service was really bad as well.

Delicious lunch in a warm, charming atmosphere. Shepard’s Pie and Chicken Pot Pie were delicious and perfect comfort food on a cold winter day. Also, our server was sweet and attentive. Will definitely return.

I'm from out of state and I highly recommend this place! It had good food! First time there and first time trying fish and chips and it did NOT disappoint! The appetizer was calamari and it was definitely made fresh and not the can or frozen kind. I also loved their coleslaw and I do not like coleslaw at all lol. Definitely try this place out, will not disappoint!

It was my first time there. We went for dinner around midnight. The wait was OK. Foods were delicious. We were amaze by the way chicken dumplings were served in a small bamboo basket. Prices were not bad as it is literally 5 minutes walk from times Square.

I love it here! I can’t do gluten and they have GF buns and pasta. Super happy to be able to eat “normal” food 💖

This was our first bar in NYC on this trip. Thought it was a perk that they also had a rooftop. We went up to the rooftop and had a great time. The place was packed which was very refreshing. Service was quick and servers friendly. Tons of drinks and countless beers on tap. Cool decor as well. First time I’ve ever see kegs turned into urinals in the bathroom, really cool actually. If your around Times Square area and want to check out an Irish pub we recommend this spot.

Came here for birthday drinks w friends. Norma is a gem here! The waiters are constantly checking on you but not in a way that makes you feel overwhelmed. Drinks were made perfectly! Sat outside and it wasn't too bad. And their appetizers are great. You wouldn't think this would be the spot for coconut shrimp but definitely try that and their crab cakes...who knew?! You are not rushed out at all. Feels like the place you want to make your regular stop on a Friday after work!

Quintessential Irish pub. Roof top patio. Full of character and characters. Good for footy and a perfectly poured Guinness.

We came to Connolly's because it was right next door to our hotel, and I'm so glad we did! It is the epitome of an authentic Irish pub. The decor is warm and wood-paneled, and many of the servers even have Irish accents. The staff was all very friendly and welcoming as well! My husband got the American burger, and I got the fish & chips. The batter on the fish was perfectly crispy, yet the fish was tender and flakey. My husband ordered his burger rare, and it came out excellently rare (which is actually pretty unusual - he always orders rare and it's usually over cooked). Would definitely recommend Connolly's!

Connolly's is a great Irish pub right off of Times Square. The employees were friendly and helpful and the service was efficient. The food is great and tastes fresh and the bartenders are very engaging if you choose to sit at the bar and talk to them. I stopped here a few times recently and will definitely come back again.

Went for a birthday celebration and had a great time. Food was typical bar food and it was good. The fish and chips were delicious, it was battered perfectly with the right amount of crunch. The portion. Size was shareable as well which makes it a good value for the money. Keith is a great bartender and serves the drinks up with smile and light banter which makes you feel like you're at your neighborhood pub and not in Times SQ.

We went on NYC Marathon weekend and the pub was packed with runners. We had reserved a table on a Sunday at 6:30 to listen to live music but the crowd was loud and standing shoulder to shoulder so that it drowned out the musicians. I don't know if this was the Sunday norm or not. However, the servers were exceptionally attentive and the food surprisingly very good. Things started quieting down at 8:00 yet most customers still seemed to ignore the musicians. I am not sure that this is the best venue for music but we had a good enough time and we will try again with later reservations.

Connolly's rooftop bar and grill is definitely a place you should try. The food is great, the drinks are better and the hospitality by staff is fantastic. I happen to be there on a very beautiful day so it was very enjoyable. I recommend the Gaelic Burger and the grapefruit beer. Please tip these young men and women appropriately because they do work very hard to keep us all happy

We love Shephard’s Pie and Connelys was fabulous, it was the Perfect late night comfort food after just flying in to NYC. My husband got the Fish and Chips and we shared a Falafel. All of it was super yummy. Great service, the Irish music was great and atmosphere was fun.

The star is for the avocado toast. The only good thing in the experience. We went for breakfast, asked for double expresso it turned out to be instant coffee really disgusting with foam and the smell was horrible. Then when asked for the bill, 6 dollars for the very not irish and very disgusting coffee and that's not all: 20% tip included and on the after tax. We would be adding the 20% either way but the fact of obliging us to tip minimum 20% and add additional tip! That was not acceptable. And intimidating the tourists is not acceptable too. The waitress was very unfriendly when we asked for the check without the tips pre-filled, and made us wait.

Connolly's is open late which made it the perfect place to eat after a Broadway show. We were seated on the first floor near the bar with no wait around 11pm. The hostess and wait staff were all very friendly and efficient and the food was served very quickly. We had Shepherds Pie, Fried Mozzarella and Peanut Butter pie for dessert, all were very good. The atmosphere was great with Irish accents everywhere. If you like a good Irish pub definitely check out Connolly's.

The food was pretty good. Great spot to relax after a long day and have some drinks with friends or Co workers. The service was great and seems to have many levels to the establishment with different atmospheres . Make sure to check out the rooftop!

  • 5/5 Bigfoodie. l. 1 year ago on Google
Connolly's is a welcoming bar with a staff that is cool with all the people. It's been established in the city for a long time and we've met a lot of regulars there - many of them whom are Irish. We almost ordered pretty much everything here on the menu. From their Chicken wings to their Pot Pie. We recommend the most is their Hip-Hop Cheeseburger Wrap. Having a Cheeseburger in a Wrap is different from how we usually eat cheeseburgers. This was the first place we ever had a Cheeseburger in a tortilla. Overall, a cheeseburger wrap gave a combination of savory, salty, and tangy flavors, as well as a mix of textures.

This is the best place to go around Times Square area. They have a good rooftop. And the best thing about is they have a designated smoking area. The price was very reasonable. Every time I go to Times Square I always go here. I love the menu, service, ambiance and everything.
