It was late and we just checked in to our hotel and looking for a place to eat. Looked at the reviews online and felt like we’d give it a shot the food looked good but i was more interested in the history of first responder badges. I was just hoping the food was good and figured it was a pub it should be. We weren’t sure if it was family friendly because we had a teen with us and wasn’t sure if it was more of a bar. They said they were family friendly. When we walked in it did feel more like a bar there were no families there but we went in anyways. The place was cute and it wasn’t rowdy. The Hockey game was playing and the badges were awesome. The waiter was an Irish guy and was really nice to my family. We asked if they had a scrapbook of 9/11 history because I read somewhere they did. He was excited to give it to us. We looked through it as we were waiting for our food which came out at a great time and the food was delicious. I will definitely stop by again if in the area!!

Very solid pub food with a very cool experience. I've never experienced a pub that was so deeply engrained in fire fighter culture, but it's not that surprising when you understand its location and history. If you need a burger and a beer then it's worth a visit. Bring your local fire fighter patches for the walls (entire place is covered head to toe).

The first time I’ve ever tried a Philly streak and cheese and I was not disappointed. It’s possibly one of the tastiest things I’ve ever eaten, so O’Haras have set the bar high. Bizarrely, the fries were terrible, but the PS&C roll gives this place a 5 star and I’ll forget the rubbish fries. The Samuel Smith IPA was also brilliant as was the cider. The restaurant has so much character and our server Isa was brilliant.

Very unique place with lots of history. This pub is right by the 911 memorial, and during 911 its building was damaged to the point where they had to close for several months. Today, their walls are decorated with patches of fire departments from all over the world, in recognition of the firefighters who fought and sacrificed to save lives in the aftermath of 911. The food itself is typical bar fare and I thought it was fine, but nothing special. I would definitely recommend dropping by here to see all the firefighter patches and take in the history though.

Rightly has the reputation as the Fire-fighters pub. Near to the 9/11 memorial and the closet fire-House to the disaster. If your in an emergency service, bring a patch or badge and add to the collection Drink and food great

Only a block or two from the Downtown Marriott and World Trade Center Memorial, this bar served as a great spot to grab drinks and a quick bite. The walls are covered in patches from first responders from all around the world. It's your basic menu with sandwiches and burgers. A cool place to spend time if you're in the neighborhood.

Great pub/restaurant near to 9/11 memorial. You’ll see the Nation First responders patches across from all the places. The ambiance is a lively and great choice of beers.

We were looking for a place to eat while walking around NYC. Searched based on reviews and went to O'Hara's. We walked in and they were absolutely packed but we were politely greeted at the door and had a table in less than 5 minutes. The service was immediately but they were so busy they had a difficult time keeping up with our drinks, no fault to the amazing place. We had the Irish nachos for an appetizer which were probably the best thing we ate! We also ordered a sausage and peppers sandwich, BLT, chicken blt and a club sandwich. The food was great and the atmosphere was even better.

The food was just ok. We are staying at Club Quarters hotel close by & didn't want to walk around to look for food. It was crowded. Server was nice and attentive. The burgers were ok. This place is ok because it's much cheaper than Morton's if you don't want to walk too far from the hotel. Nachos did have generous portions of beef, but would have tasted better with jalapenos. Burgers too thick & cheesy. Tv showing Eagles' game was blurry..They need HD tvs.

This place was wonderful! It is right across the road (diagonally) from the 9/11 memorial. The food was fantastic. The atmosphere was friendly. The inside is covered in patches from first responders all over the United States and beyond. The area is small but it is definitely worth a trip. For just a drink or a meal!

Started out with the beef nachos. My husband didn't like them. The beef is a ruff dry steak like meat. Not ground beef like I thought. In the beginning our waiter was great then once we got our food we never saw him again. I had to flag someone down to get our bill so we could leave. The ambiance is very cool. There are firehouses and police badges everywhere. They have Coke products. Nice seasonal beer selection. Oh and I got a bottle of Michelob Ultra and it was iced cold. It was delicious. Very close to the 9-11 memorial. I even found my hometown badges.

The food was clearly not the highlight here, the Burger was pretty plain and nothing special at all. All the ordered food tasted pretty plain and not much seasoned. If you like your burger like this, it's a match, for me it was not. The service was friendly and kind. One highlight is clearly the decorations inside the pub. There are patches of all kinds of different Rescue/Police forces from all around the world pinned to the walls. I would not come to eat again here, just because the food did not match my expectations and for that the prize was pretty high.

Irish food on menus not available since Covid. Nice enough. Kinda a sticky table bar sort of, but expected that. Got Sheppard’s pie it was very good. But other items I would’ve preferred. Pls bring them back or take off menu. 20 min walk to be disappointed about online menu. The rest of menu is American bar food.

Absolutely loved this pub! Walking into the pub and seeing all the patches up on the walls, the story behind them and what it all represents makes me proud to be a firefighter. The staff was incredibly kind and answered any questions that were asked about the place, menu, or even about 9/11. It pays homage to all the brave men and women that lost their lives at the World Trade Center down the street. The food was delicious and the drinks went down better than any other place I went to.

This authentic Irish pub has so much history yet embraces every customer, local or tourist, with warmth and a smile. It saw the before and after of the twin towers and carries the patches of firefighters like medals of honor. Fill up your your belly with a hot Irish stew and fries or a stout Guinness beer and cheers!

This Irish Pub is phenomenal. The wings were cooked just right. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The atmosphere was awesome. It is near Ground Zero from 09/11 attacks and has history all over it.

This is a gem of a bar. Almost next door to the 7/11 site / memorial, it’s decorated in badges from services (police, firemen etc) from around the world. It’s amazing to see. Take the time to walk around if you can. At night all the TV’s have baseball in. This is like the quintessential American bar - brilliant. They serve a very good draft Guinness (it’s an Irish bar) and the onion rings were good. I will come here again. It’s an authentic great bar

First time visiting New York. We found this little pub and instantly fell in love with it. They have awesome food and their staff is friendly and welcoming. The most amazing part is they have patches on their walls of men and women that are in the fire department or police department. Also those that have passed on. Highly recommend this place! Will make another stop before we leave to go back home.

This is kind of a historic place. The walls are full of patches from firemen, policemen and other service branches. It's a cosy bar , with great service and also good quality food. Price is good as well.. if you are around to visit the world trade centre, don't go somewhere else.

Historic O'Hara's. This is where 1st responders from all over the world found respite in the months following 9/11. The windows were blown our when the towers fell, but 7 months later they were back open, and welcoming those risking their lives to help. Patches and badges from 1st responders decorate the walls. It reminds you that there can be unity in this world. That people will come together for good. Great Irish fare, drinks, and good old American bar food.

What an absolutely amazing place! Our beef nachos were fresh, hot and delicious and the service was top notch! My wife ordered a glass of wine and the bartender polished her glass before pouring it!! You don’t see that at a lot anymore!! Best part was they serve Yeungling on tap!! Fresh and cold!! 5 stars!! ________________ 🌏Weight Loss Motivation Blogger. ⭐Dr. Stunned At Patient’s Dramatic Weight Loss With This Instagram👉 @slims_pro

Amazing bar, friendly staff and really tasty hearty food. I loved the atmosphere in here, and I highly recommend anyone visit, whether visiting New York or local to the area. It's definitely on my list of places to visit again. If you work for the emergency services and you bring a badge/patch with you from anywhere in the world they will add it to the wall. Really amazing place to visit.

Great friendly little bar/restaurant. Across the street from the 9/11 Memorial. You must go and see all the patches of First Responders from all over the country. Ask to see the scrap book the owners put together & be prepared to get very emotional.

While visiting the 9/11 Memorial, with my fiancé on vacation, I happened upon O'Hara's Pub. Looking for a restroom stop, decided to pop in, have a beer and use the facilities. Little did we know we were walking into history. What an amazing place!!! Our bartender Rebecca was also amazing! We asked her about all the patches on the walls and ceiling. She proceded give us the back story of the bar during 9/11. She showed us the album of pictures, clippings and letters. At this point it was hard not to get a bit emotional. We saw a lot of incredible places on our trip, but the most memorable stop was a place we had never heard before. Thank you O'Hara's!!! And thank you to all of the firemen, policemen, first responders and national guard for everything you've done and continue to do everyday!

My Wife, Daughter and I were visiting NYC in early January, and WTC Memorial was on our agenda to see this historic site. We happened to be walking and came to the door of O’Hara’s. Once inside, we got a feel of welcomeness as the employees greeted us and treated us like friends, friends we’d never met! The ambiance was very relaxing. We were impressed by the walls covered in patches from literally every Police and Fire Department, including Forestry, Ambulance Companies and First Responders from all over the world. What a tribute to the WTC Memorial!!!!! People who gave their lives for the people in the towers on the infamous day. I understand the owner was in O’Hara’s on that day in history. Some stories were shared and some honors paid to those battalions who responded. We’ll never forget, and forever bless those who gave it all for others. O’Hara’s made a mark on us that day and we truly hope to return some time soon to look around the walls and marvel at the collection of Emergency Responders memorabilia on display there. Thank you to all at O’Hara’s from The Erickson Family from Robbinsdale Minnesota.

Enjoyed my time in this bar, really well decorated full of history. Very lively, enjoyable bar. Only issue is it is very difficult to get a seat although we managed to get one.

If you are a first responder, fire, law enforcement, or military you'll feel right at home here. Classic Irish-American bar with a decent kitchen and friendly staff. Owner Mike has kept it going throughout good and bad times. This is where we ended up after 9/11 fife and drum parade with military (see photo).

Found this place while exploring with my son and we were both very pleased with our discovery. First off, our server was a great guy. Add to that the fact that the food was excellent. My son is a fan of trying wings from many of the places we dine and he really enjoyed O'Hara's (buffalo). Our burgers were perfect and satisfying. To end it all our server (wish I had caught his name) shared a book full of 9/11 remembrances. It was a bit sad for me but fascinating to my son. A neat little piece of history - the pub and the book. Kudos!

O'Hara's is a very friendly place. I was often there to meet friends, after the 9/11 remembering and more... It is a very good place to meet Firefighters from all over the World, to eat and drink. I Like 😉

A NY Staple. This place is awesome. Amazing vibe, great staff, and they've been through so much as an establishment. They deserve all the love and respect in the world. Ask to see their scrap-book while you're there.

Stopped here twice and enjoyed it both times. Lively atmosphere, good music, super friendly staff, fair prices. The food was good, huge portions, couldn't finish everything on the plate on neither visit. Really tasty Irish stew! The Shepherd's pie could use a bit more sauce though.

Just one block away from our hotel, and across Ground Zero we found O'hara's by accident. As soon as we walked in we were surprisingly welcomed. Loved the patches on the wall, and the great atmosphere. We looked at the 9/11 scrapbook. The food was good, and the beer was very good. We stayed in NYC for one week, and kept going to O'hara's every day, for the rest of our stay. Awesome place. I will definitely go back next time I'm in NYC.

Brilliant atmosphere in this pub! Very lovely and buzzing! Service was great, always checking in. The wings were lovely! Hubby found the strips slightly plain but nothing hot sauce couldn’t fix!

Decent Irish restaurant you can go to after visiting the 911 memorial. We had the Sheperds Pie and Philly cheesesteak burger, both which we felt was average. Nevertheless, interesting thing about the restaurant is that they pasted formation patches of various army units and first responders worldwide all over the restaurant. Worth walking around the restaurant to look at them if you're keen on such stuff.

I’m not sure there’s enough ways to express how amazing this establishment is. Easily one of the highlights of our trip, and a place we will return to every time we visit NYC. Mike was extremely welcoming the moment my wife and I walked in the door as if he had known us years. I brought a fire patch from a local station from back home in Wisconsin which he allowed me the pleasure of hanging my self, as well as allowing us to look through the O’Hara’s photo album. Phenomenal location near the WTC, outstanding service top to bottom, extremely clean, great pricing, and just an overall amazing vibe. I would give this place 50 stars if I could and highly encourage every single person that reads this review to stop in for at least a beer, you won’t regret it.

We didn’t eat BUT after a long day of touring Manhattan with the kids; the missus and I needed a drink. Our lovely barmaid was a saint and made us a Black Velvet and I had a “Fighting 69th” Irish whiskey. Great atmosphere with locals & tourists. Well worth the visit. Close to the 9/11 memorial

This was the coolest place we ate all trip. Sat at the bar with Paul. Saw the scrapbook. I cannot give this place the praise it deserves. It was quaint and personal. This is a place I will come to if/ when I am in NYC again.

Stopped in for lunch. Ordered a burger and was surprised by how fresh it was. Certainty not a frozen patty from a box. Prices were fair and service was fast. Certainly worth a stop if you're in the area.

This place is legit. Loved decompressing here after taking in the 9/11 museum. It's refreshing to see a venue that is so supportive of first responders and the military. Really well done. Excellent service.
