Classic NY power breakfast! Went on Juneteenth holiday, so it was easy to get into and to enjoy. First class food and service at business class prices.

No. For the true New Yorkers, this place is a No. From the sidewalk the space looks nice but as soon as you get seated and settle in you realize it's very stale. If you sit along the east wall you will easily notice the dirty air vents close to the top of the ceiling followed by a not so pretty ceiling. The room is dated, the Christmas garland along the ceiling looked sad, like it's been the same weak rope garland used since 2008 or something. Everyone wrote the service is amazing but I didn't get that at all. It was just myself and my wife. After they took our order, for a good 7 or so minutes we just sat there with water and finally noticed others had bread. We had been sitting for a while with just drinks and no one offered us bread. We had to ask for bread from another waiter and it still took a few long minutes to finally get bread. The crab cake was the size of a small burger patty and the pomegranate salad had huge leaves that were awkward to cut and eat. The raviolis were weak and not creamy, more oily. The bowl for the brussel sprouts was too small for the foods and wasn't the easiest to eat out of bc we didn't want to tip it over. I don't understand all the positive reviews on the food and service. The service seemed less engaged and mostly robotic. The food seemed basic compared to the prices. They'd forget to bring back another drink so my wife was stuck with water for most of the meal until we reminded them. We vibe was just off. Honestly it mostly tourists around the room. We didn't need to try the dessert. This was a miss for us. Again the room is just stale. Not cute, not styled, no one cares enough type of feeling. I don't write reviews but this one just had to be done

Big fan of Michael's. Worked in the area for several years and had great business lunches a few times a year. Because I lived in a different part of the city, I never thought to try it for dinner. Recently, I was looking for a classic NYC fine dining restaurant in midtown good for families with kids for a family birthday celebration. A friend suggested we try Michael's and they delivered! The lovely hostess made it magical for our kids upon entry, we were treated with the table in the window, the food was fresh and tasty and the kids loved it! There is not a kids menu but they will do kids pasta, simple burger, steak, chicken, etc. One of our kids - the pickiest eater - ordered a butter pasta and said it was the best they ever had. We all tried it and agreed, had to order another! There is a pretty limited wine selection but all were very good. Beer selection could be improved. The classic room has been the setting for many business deals and I have fond memories of a few, enhanced by our recent family experience. Love the laid-back but first-class vibe and unpretentious service. Highly recommend!

The food was good and the staff was superb. The dining room is also beautiful. We went for a weekday lunch and it was very much a business crowd. The vibe is borderline stuffy, but the staff was so kind that their warmth offset that.

I went in there for lunch. Great burger, it was a ground up ribeye steak. One of the better burgers I’ve ever had. I was in there early so it wasn’t very busy. I would certainly revisit this place when I am back in Manhattan

What can I say, or better what can't I say? Michael went above and beyond, he served all our dishes by balancing them on his head, he fed me with my own special spoon. Once I was stuffed, and utterly delighted, swimming in the flavours produced my Michaels eclectic kitchen, he rubbed my belly and sent me off to sleepy land whilst singing sweet sweet lullabies. The world does not deserve this man nor his culinary genius <3

Says they accept takeout (and delivery) but no clear way to actually order take out. No phone number. Nothing on their website. Amateur hour.

Michael's is the perfect fine dining experience. I came here for my mother's 40th birthday and I really want to thank the staff for making it memorable. A complimentary birthday cake was given to us and the staff sang her happy birthday. The setting is luxurious and the wait staff have everything down to absolute perfection. The margarita pie was warm and cheesy and the fish was well seasoned and presented. I want to thank the manager Basdeo for making our night so special.

I had the perfect dinner here for Valentine’s Day! Great food, atmosphere and staff all around. Appetizers to dessert was all delicious. I am not even a fan of Kale but even their Kale Caesar Salad was so tasty; I finished it. I definitely recommend this place.

I had dinner at Michaels with my daughter and best friend in NYC. I don’t often take the time to recommend a restaurant but not only was the food amazing, the service by Darlene was exceptional. She was so sweet and caring and joyful. You rarely meet someone so beautiful inside out that is worth mentioning & recommending. Ask for this beautiful soul to serve you if you go to Michaels!

My cousin's birthday party was held here thanks to the generosity of her boyfriend's parents. It was lovely, and we were all pleased with the atmosphere. The food was delicious. It was satisfactory to all of us. I wholeheartedly recommend this establishment.

Had a wonderful dining experience yesterday for a early lunch with my mother. I enjoyed their Maryland Lump Crabcake with roasted cauliflower. Everything was up to par. Will be back ;) for brunch and shopping again really soon.

I think their food is really good and the service excellent! Atmosphere a little stale for my taste, but to be honest the food and service is most important to me.

So I came here with high expectations for a client dinner. From the beginning it took over an hour to begin our food order. So definitely don't come here if you're starving and want a quick turnaround. For drinks I ordered a sidecar and it was made beautifully. Ordered 5 by the end of the night. The steak was a bit underwhelming and fries plain. The shishito peppers on the other hand was coated in a delicious sauce that I'm still thinking about today.

The staff makes you feel like your a celebrity and the phrase “we can’t do that” doesn’t exist here.

We were there for a private function, so I can't speak for the main restaurant, but the food was great and the service charming and unobtrusive. Michael himself was a genial host and with Bette Middler and family eating out there, the joint is clearly well thought of. The arty vibe was well pitched. Recommended.

We had lunch at Michael's and took advantage of the Restaurant Week offerings. We had a 1:30 reservation which we were late for as it seemed like it took forever to get into the city on Friday. We called to let them know we would be late and were treated graciously and thanked for the call. The decor is bright and fresh. We were seated at a nice table that afforded us to view the entire restaurant, including the celeb guests that are reported to often visit. Unfortunately, we didn't see anyone but such is the case on a Friday afternoon mid-summer. Our waiter was very helpful in selecting our wine. He recommended a marvelous Torrebruna Brunello which I loved. My dining companion selected the Whispering Angel Rose. We both decided upon the Summer Chopped Salad with Pistachio and Thai Vinaigrette. There was an abundance of flavors in this salad that we both described as "fresh". Roasted corn, plums, watercress, mint, cilantro all contribute to this incredible salad. At the recommendation of our waiter we both ordered the grilled barramundi sea bass. The salsa verde was delicious. We both enjoyed our meal tremendously and thought that we were satisfied without feeling too full. We opted to try the dessert as we spied a neighboring table order a yummy looking strawberry and meringue parfait. They also offered homemade gelato which was spectacular (we tried the pistachio). We hadn't realized that the restaurant closed between lunch and dinner until we left. One reason we didn't know was the friendly staff did not rush us at all. Wonderful experience!

Very good. Entire breakfast was very good, but I would have preferred my toast be buttered in the kitchen, when the toast is very hot.

Very disappointed with the management at Michael's. My daughter and her boyfriend were celebrating their anniversary and heard wonderful things about this restaurant. They however did not share in this experience. Before they were even seated they were asked if they wanted still or carbonated water. Not knowing they had an option to say "no", they elected still not realizing they would be charged $16 for a bottle of basic tap water. They each ordered a Diet Coke for $8 each and were provided a refill without realizing that they would be charged an additional $8 each for the refills they did not request. So, before they took a bite of food they were out $48. That is crazy. When the manager came over, he simply replied that "This is Manhattan. People with money wouldn't question a refill charge nor be concerned with a $16 bottle of tap water. " This man knows nothing about the financial status of this young couple and it is totally irrelevant. This is just an example of taking advantage of a young couple trying to celebrate their anniversary. this manager obviously has no etiquette or class as far as I am concerned. I would recommend going elsewhere unless you have money to burn.
