While they were very accommodating (as we were a party of six with no reservation), it can take some time to get a table. I personally didn’t mind waiting as I enjoyed the live music. The wait time from kitchen to table wasn’t too bad at all considering how busy it was. Our server was very knowledgeable and assist us in placing our order. And we all enjoyed our choices.

I went there on a Saturday around 5:30 PM. We made reservations (highly recommended). Friendly staff from the hostess to waiters, to servers, etc. It’s a great vibe with music. Excellent pacing of the food. Everything was delicious! We celebrated my mother’s birthday. She received a free fedora hat and dessert (flan). They sang happy birthday to her. We had a great time!

Lunch at Havana Central Times Square didn’t disappoint. The food was delicious, the flavors on point. Orlando who took care of us at the bar was friendly, attentive and personable. The music was also good.

Such an amazing restaurant from the front desk to the servers, everyone was super friendly and happy to welcome a family with a baby. The food was delicious , you really can’t get enough from that salmon. I strongly recommend this experience when you visit New York!

Lively Cuban restaurant that lives up to its name. A reasonably priced menu offering authentic fare. We started off with an appetizer sampler that included yummy moist chicken Empanadas, chicharrones de pollo, masitas, maduros & tostones that came with chimichurri. Additionally, we added crispy fried calamari dusted in seasoned flour and Tortillas and Guac Caseros. Both were delicious! For entrées, we tried the traditional Cubano hero-Slow-roasted pork, smoked ham, Swiss cheese, pickles & mustard; their slow roasted sweet & tangy guava-glazed St. Louis-style ribs served with mango salsita on top; Pernil Asado- roasted pork with pickled onions; Ropa Vieja, a classic Cuban dish of braised shredded beef with peppers & onions; the impressive Trio De Amantes Del Cerdo: three tiers of outstanding pork dishes~ Masitas, Pernil & Guava Ribs. And Bande Ja Vegetariana aka stuffed pepper with Havana Street Corn, Garlic Broccoli, Maduros & Tostones with chimichurri. Our sides included Maduros, sweet fried plantains. Needless to say we also ordered pitchers of their refreshing Signature Red Sangria-Cabernet Sauvignon, Grand Marnier & D'Usse VSOP Cognac. With such a hearty reasonably priced menu, attentive service, and fun atmosphere, a visit to Havana Central will not disappoint.

In the mood for Cuban cuisine in Times Square? Head on over to this spot. Great food, moderately high prices due to the fact you are in the city. Nice restaurant with an open air feel. Dine in or out on the tables set along the outside area. Everything on the menu is pretty much great. Too bad I can’t say the same about the wait staff who was not very attentive and a bit on the rude side. Crowds are at a minimum here so reservations aren’t necessary. Drinks are watered down 😞 the place is clean though and you won’t regret eating here

Hands down a new favorite. The vibe in this place was immaculate. The food was outstanding. Drinks were on point, music was great. The service was top notch. I was blown away with how much I enjoyed eating here. We started with the Cuban appetizer sampler which was a perfect combo of everything on their appetizer menu. Churrasco with chimichurri was my entree and it was so delicious, I forgot to take a picture before I bit into it. Highly recommend this place and I will certainly come back!

Went here on a whim, and so greatful we did. Walked in to live Cuban music and a very lively and popping atmosphere. Greeted by a fantastic staff and seated immediately. Served food until 11 pm which is actually harder than one would think to find in NYC on a Friday evening. Our server was incredible, food was top-tier, drinks were aplenty, tasty and not week by any means. Pricing was also great considering all of the above. Would most definitely recommend to anyone traveling in the area and we would 1,000% go back to try other items on the menu.

This was one of our favorite places we tried while visiting. First thing, the menu has a typo on it for the pork lovers trio. The first one listed as a pork lover trio is the pork lover. The second one is not a pork lover trio it will include chicken, pork, and beef. We said pork lover trio, not realizing there were two items called that. This led to some confusion. That said, the pork lover trio was extremely tasting. We will def be going back. We had 4 people, so we ordered 2 towers of pork lovers and a side of sweet plantains. We would def visit this restaurant again when in the area. Convenient to Time Square.

Looking for something to eat whilst in Times Square I came across Havana. As a benchmark I normally complain about something in a restaurant. The food quality, the food quantity or food service. For me there was absolutely nothing to complain about, in fact the opposite. The ribs were rather best I have ever had. The service was great. The waiter and service could not have been better. My only downside about visiting Havana is that it has set a new benchmark for any other restaurant that I go to. Well worth 5 stars and a visit if you are in the area.

Omg, the food was oh so good. Took my Sweetheart they're for his birthday and we both loved everything we ordered. We got the sampler as our appetizers. We could have easily stopped there because it was very filling and tasty. For our entree we got the salmon con mango and the ribs. Yummy. The only thing I would have loved is if the meat was falling off the bone for the ribs. That's how I like it. Otherwise it tasted good. Drinks were the hurricane, a creeper so watch out. I will take my girlfriends there next time. The service was very good too. I was feeling a cold draft coming in making me uncomfortable and our writer Alex was so accommodating,. He did everything to correct it, even putting up the heat and requested the door stay closed! 🥰🥰🥰

Food delicious, great music and ambiance. My recommendation for drinks Margarita Clasicla (Pitcher) the mojitos were good but it kind of felt water down. We ordered Churrasco, arroz con camarones, tostones rellenos, chips and guacamole, ensalada de aguacate and it was delicious!!

Love the place. It brought to me very good memories from my home Old Havana. Food was very good, very authentic flavor and nice portions. The price was excellent, especially considering how close to Time Square this place is. The service was excellent as well. Definitively coming back when in the city again.

I've always wanted to dine here. I didn't make reservations but I was still able to dine at the bar. Drinks were good and Cuban sampler was delicious w/tostones, fried chicken & pork & empanadas. Everything about the atmosphere was upbeat and waitress at the bar was nice and friendly, I remember her name Stacey. I will be visiting again, next time I'll make a reservation so I can enjoy a good Cuban meal.

We had the most amazing experience at Havana Central in New York City. Some in our group were a bit skeptical it might be too touristy being so close to times square but that was not the case. The interior felt like I was at Little Havana in Miami… And the food tasted homemade and authentic. We sampled three different empanadas and the Mexican street corn all were delicious. Their happy hour specials are amazing – we had the most delicious Mojito‘s complete with this piece of sugarcane, from scratch margaritas and delicious sangria. But the highlight of our experience was our waiter IVAN … my daughter had seen his name mentioned in other reviews and quietly whispered to me when we were seated that we had gotten him as our waiter. It was the most amazing service I’ve ever received and definitely kept us there a lot longer than we had planned to be. He is funny, charming, skilled at his craft and highly entertaining… I asked to be seated in his section when you go and it will truly be a magical experience.

You have to have the CHURROS!! The food is delicious! I ate so much that I could roll back to the hotel! LoL. The vegetarian entree is amazing, and the best I had in New York so far. The atmosphere is cozy and the waitress was so friendly! I would go back for sure.

My mom was Cuban and now that she's not around I'm always looking for a restaurant that makes food even close to her cooking. (As close as one would hope for restaurant -style food, anyway). I first tried Havana Central over 8 ago and immediately fell in love. The food tasted great and the presentation was lovely. Since then I've been consistently delicious and beautiful. That was until tonight. I went here with dad for his birthday, since he misses moms cooking as much as I do. He and I ordered our fave, ropa vieja, and my partner ordered the pernil. I was disappointed with my plate. It used to come neatly prepared and with maduros included. When it arrived it looked sloppy, no maduros, and, worst of all, my meat was way more pink than I've ever had it. It still tasted ok, but everything was luke warm (which made me side-eye the meat even more, wondering if they took it off the fire too soon). I prayed my dad's wasn't as pink, since he doesn't like anything that's not well done. He ate it, complaining about the thick slices of onion, but not about the color of the meat. My bfs pernil was hot and tasty and perfect, so that's nice. The service was perfect, and the atmosphere was lovely as always. Plus we got to hear some live music too. Lastly, the Cuban espresso brought me back to my childhood, highly recommended. In the end 4 out of 5. Everything was pretty great except the "doneness" of my meat. I hope this was just a fluke and when I go back my food will be hot and a lil less pink. 🩷

La Havana Restaurant in Times Square is a must-visit for those seeking authentic Cuban cuisine and the famous Cuban drink, the Mojito. The restaurant offers a wide range of traditional Cuban dishes, from flavorful Ropa Vieja to savory Lechon Asado. The food is prepared with care and attention to detail, ensuring an exquisite dining experience. The Mojitos at La Havana are simply outstanding, with a perfect balance of refreshing mint, tangy lime, and a hint of sweetness. The staff is friendly and attentive, providing excellent service throughout the meal. Overall, La Havana Restaurant is a delightful destination for anyone looking to indulge in the flavors of Cuba and savor a truly exceptional Mojito.

In summary, Havana Central provides a decent dining experience with friendly staff, an acceptable cocktail selection, and a lively atmosphere. However, if you're looking for a culinary adventure or unique libations, you might find the offerings here to be more standard than standout. It's a reliable choice for those craving Cuban flavors in the heart of Times Square, but don't expect to be wowed beyond the expected.

This place never fails when I visit NYC. Was here on 2/15/24. The band was awesome, don’t remember the name 😞 good music, good ambience. Make sure to tip the band 👍🏻 Our server Micheal was awesome. Mojitos were delish as always. Try the Bulldog Margarita😁 The ONLY downfall, my meal was a bit cold, had the pork trio. The ribs were cold and the fried pork pieces.

Located in the heart of Times Square. Perfect happy hour spot especially when catching a broadway show. The staff is friendly, the food is delicious and the service is quick.

Definitely better Cuban than I've normally had in the city. I was not impressed by their skinny margaritas though, and our waitress, Lea? was politely sarcastic. Accessibility: very Wide entrance, but no QR code menus yet.

If you live or are visiting NYC, you NEED to come here. The food is amazing! We tried the mojitos, empanadas & vaca frita - SO GOOD! Also, amazing service and vibe. You will enjoy it!

Right in the heart of NYC but you have to go find it as it's tucked in one of less busy streets, west 46 the street. Lots of seating available when we arrived for a late lunch on a weekday. Friendly service and the food we ordered was great, not your regular touristy food.. Ordered the arroz con Camarones which was almost like a paella and very flavorful. The other was the ropa vieja which was equally good. Everything was cooked fresh and given we were famished, we emptied all our plates.

Thank you all guys

Right off the Time square strip. Escape the sensory overload for some great Cuban! Really enjoyed the food, the restaurant itself while traditional, could use a bit of a revamp.

One of the best meals I've had in a long time! The atmosphere is laid back, and the service is incredibly attentive from the hostess to the bussers. Ramon, our server, was absolutely wonderful and made us feel right at home. Last but not least... THE FOOD!!! We ate until our buttons were ready to burst because everything was so delicious! 10/10

After a busy day, this was the perfect place to sit down and enjoy a delicious meal :) everything we had was wonderful, apps to the sides to the main meal. We were too full to try dessert unfortunately! The staff was very friendly and helpful with picking our entrees. Would love to visit again next time I'm in town :)

Was a good experience the food was good and the drinks were great. Would definitely recommend it as a good place to go if you are hanging around time square. Make sure to have reservations as this was the third time we tried to get in (no reservation on the first two and it didn’t go well). Had the chicken sandwich which was good but a bit dry, garlic chicken(was great) and mojito.

Got there late at night (~9:45) after going to a Broadway play. They accommodated my large group (10) quickly (the restaurant was half full when we arrived). The food was great. I had some CA recent college grads with definite experience with Mexican food, and they LOVED it.) Decor was nice but I really didn't check it out since we were late. Our service was welcoming, responsive, and competent. Overall 4.8

I'm a little mixed on this restaurant. Drinks were all delicious (cranberry mojito, cranberry sangria, and caipirinha). Music, atmosphere and our super friendly waiter were awesome. Food was hit or miss though. The Calabaza soup special, stuffed pepper, Havana street corn on the cob, and Maduros (fried sweet plantains) were all good. On the other hand, rice was a bit cold and stiff, as if it had been sitting around for awhile. The tostones were dry, tough and flavorless. Garlic shrimp with rice was also bland and didn't have any garlic or seasoning at all. Dessert was much better with churros and Cuban espresso. Would I come back? Probably not.

Great location, right in time square. Great atmosphere, friendly staff, amazing Cuban food. The music was great!! Super busy, would recommend going early. They were accommodating on seating even when no tables are available. They have a great set up! Loved everything.

I'll start out by saying, once they got my order right, the food was good. However, it took a few tries and me waiting nearly 45 minutes before I was served the plate to my liking. I ordered a surf and turf which comes with sirloin steak, shrimp, and a side of rice and beans. On the first try, this is what they served me - a not fully cooked steak with visible blood. When I cut into the steak, the blood came gushing out onto my plate. I brought the issue to the attention of my server, (who was a very kind young lady btw) and she took my plate back to the kitchen. I was jarred by the fact that when my food returned, it was the same exact plate, blood seeped out and all, with a recooked steak resting on top. The server who delivered my food hurriedly placed my plate on the table and escaped before I could say anything. When my original server returned, I let her know that I was utterly displeased with the way they served me a recooked steak on a bloody plate with the yello rice soiled by the blood and she looked at me in disbelief and confusion asking, "what is wrong?" I'm like, I don't want to eat meat with blood dripping out and this recooked steak and rice have been contaminated by the blood. Eventually, she brings the matter to the attention of the manager who "approves" her to reset the order. Mind you, this is after she tells me she doubts the kitchen will be able to cook me a whole new steak. In the midst of my patience being tested I take a few sips of the mojito just to find it takes like Sprite soda and I don't drink soda at all!! So of course, I have her change out my drink for a classic margarita. Needless to say, it was one helluva night for me at this restaurant but the food was tastey. Though the service was questionable on behalf of the kitchen, I tipped my waitress decent because she kept a warm smile on her face through it all. I'm a restaurant connoisseur but I doubt I'll return to this one anytime soon. BTW, check out the passive aggressiveness in the receipt‼️🤣🤣🤣 I was like these MFs! P.S. their bathrooms are a disgrace

Whenever I am in the area, shopping or catching a show, Havana is one of my go to spots. The food and drinks are consistently good. As long as you have a reservation, you will always be promptly seated. The portions are generous and the food tastes like home. I love the fedora they give away on birthdays. Definitely a favorite for me.

I really don’t like to review places that get below 4 stars but felt I had to. First time I came here was 2005 so being a well established restaurant in a prime location, I expected more and was excited for it. We were seated quickly upstairs, no issues there. Service was quick and food was delivered quickly. Sangria did not have a kick and tasted like sweet juice. My friend loved the non-alcoholic lemonade with guava added. Portions on the food were good and the prices were fair. I thought inexpensive for the location so was happy about. Appetizers were tasty but they were barely warm. It did not taste fresh all. That was disappointing. The entrees were tasty and had good flavor but again, barely warm. The food came out extremely quickly so I was kind of surprised when it was not hot. The salmon looked suspicious when it came out but I thought maybe it was just the mango salsa making it look slimy. (See pic) The salmon was not cooked and was completely raw when cutting it open, only the edges were cooked. The lighting is so poor in there that it was hard to notice at first. I notified the server about the salmon and they rectified this situation by providing complimentary dessert which was very much appreciated. The desserts were yummy. The icing on the tres leches had poor presentation (looked runny) but tasted yummy. The cake was moist and delicious. So, if we didn’t have the situation with the salmon and the food came out hot, my rating could have been higher because the food did have good flavor and potential. That being said, there are too many restaurants to give this one another whirl so we won’t be back unfortunately.

Lovely Cuban Restaurant with a live band playing some great tunes as you enter. Great atmosphere & service plus the food was tasty, I had the Cuban Sandwich whilst my companion had the chicken & rice which they found a bit lacking in flavour but they decided to go with that so you win some, you lose some. Didn't detract from an enjoyable experience 👏🏻.

Great place to eat authentic Latino food in Times Square and the prices are reasonable. We loved every appetizer and entree. Havana's Chimi and Green Sauces are amazing. They hit every level of authenticity, taste and presentation you would expect from a Latino Restaurant.

🇨🇺 I'm from Tampa and this is the best Cuban restaurant I've ever delighted in. Stacey is an awesome bartender make sure you ask for your mojitos with sugar cane 🇨🇺 Definitely start with the sampler. Everything is 💯. I had to try the Cuban sandwich because I needed a baseline comparison to Columbia's. My partner from Texas agreed this was the best Cuban restaurant we have ever tasted. Havana Central will be on my list every time I visit NYC. Best Tip: get a reservation or don't wait an hour crowd around the bar and wait for an empty seat same menu.

Solid spot for Cuban fare and a great choice among the lackluster selections in Times Square. We made a reservation (4 of us) for post matinee on a Sunday and they were able to fit us in. The service was friendly, attentive and expeditious (we ate under an hour!). As for the food, the empanadas were delicious, fresh and hot (not pictured). The entrees were authentic in taste (the black beans on point). We had the Guava Mojito which was yummy. The interior is spacious and offers an upstairs seating area and a private glass enclosed room in the front. The space features a tremendous bar and the music was not too loud. Authentic old school Cuban music would have been a nice touch over mainstream Latin. The room needs a little TLC (polished floors, attention the detail etc) but overall a pleasant experience.
