Good to visit but expensive (56$). I recommend to come arround 4:30pm, then you'll enjoy day time, sunset, and night time. You can stay as much as you want in the viewpoint. I think 1 hour / 1 hour thirty minutes is good enough. You can visit 2 View Point, one is inside the room (indoor) and the other one is outside. Can be cold in winter but there is warmer outside. Enjoy!

Amazing art deco building absolutely loved it inside and out. The building is so beautiful and has been respectfully modernised so that you can barely notice. The journey to the observatory has a wealth of historical information on the construction and foundations of the building which is hugely interesting. The staff are there at every step, helpful and polite and courteous. Would highly recommend a visit for everyone and of course the stop at the gift shop. Fabulous day out.

As you make your way up to the observatory, you learn the history and how this magnificent staple of the NYC skyline was created. You even get to hang out with King Kong! The views are unbeatable and romantic! Fans of the movie “Elf”will really enjoy the entrance when you are ready to leave the tour. Staff was so very friendly and helpful, and everything is streamlined seamlessly. Take in all the details from the elevator doors to the photo ops and you’ll have a great time here.

Wow! Such a beautiful work of architecture and it’s crazy they were able to build it up so fast! I absolutely adore the modern art deco style. It’s one of the most iconic and the most beautiful building in New York in my opinion. I visited on New Year’s Eve of 2023 and the crowds weren’t too bad because everyone was already waiting at Times Square in the morning for the ball to drop. There are lots of informative exhibits as I walked towards the elevators then I got to go up and see the whole city from the top. The elevator ride was very smooth and quick. There is a cool video playing inside the elevator. The views and scenery were absolutely amazing and breathtaking. I could see all the iconic landmarks of NYC such as the One World Trade Center, Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, and more. My favourite part is the observation platform where I got to go outside and catch the breeze coming in. I definitely like this more than the One World Trade Center observatory which I went a year ago mainly because of the observation deck. The admission prices are pretty fair compared to other attractions. I highly recommend buying tickets in advance if you are planning to visit because it will make your experience more smooth and convenient. Definitely a must see in New York City and it won’t disappoint!

It exceeded my expectations. It’s always been my dream to travel to NYC and go to the top of the ESB. We booked 7pm reservations which was a great choice. We were able to view the city just before the sun set and then at sundown. It takes your breath away. Worth every penny. Staff were cool, calm and collected with making sure people got to where they needed to go. So many photo ops before you take the ride up to the observatory. Lots of history about the building’s construction. Great gift shop as well - literally anything you can think of, they have. A little pricey, but that’s to be expected. Overall - great experience and I would do it again!

It was a great experience. One of the perks of using the City Pass was that I was able to get into the building both in the morning and in the evening. I highly recommend visiting at night as the view from the top is truly breathtaking. The city lights sparkle and it's a great way to see the city from a different perspective. The price for admission without the City Pass is quite steep, so I recommend getting the pass if you plan on visiting multiple tourist attractions in the city. Overall, it's worth the visit for the spectacular evening view.

I purchased the city pass and came here as one of my choices. I would recommend advanced ticket purchase and reserved times for quick and easy entry. The travel up to the observatory is slightly confusing at times with little to no direction. At times you feel like you’re walking around an empty building. Once you get to the top, the views are spectacular! I would recommend making reservations for the first tour or sunset. During the day it becomes quite hazy and although you can still get great photographs, early morning or late evening would be even better. Also I feel water should be provided once at the top. You are parched and dehydrated by the time you make it to the observatory and while you’d like to stick around and enjoy the views, you risk passing out. Once you’re done, you can wander down to the gift shop where you can purchase $5 bottles of water. Which almost makes you pass out once again. I spent $16.45 for 3 bottles of water!! Overall, well worth the sights and ability to take pictures of pretty much the entire city. Stay hydrated and pick good times is my best advice.

Whether you’re a tourist or a New Yorker you have to check this iconic site out! The view is amazing!! The little exhibit along the way up is wonderfully curated together. The history of this place and how it was built is a marvel in itself! The staff was welcoming and inviting. Right now is a great time for the locals. There is very little visitors right now! I highly recommend this place without reservations!!!

Just an amazing experience. I loved the way they captured the history of the building. The workers were extremely polite and helpful and welcoming. Then you have the views. Ya gotta plan for a clear day otherwise your just gonna be disappointed. We got lucky. The higher we went, the clearer the sky became. Anyone who don't appreciate this place, I feel sorry for them.

Visiting the Empire State Building was a truly iconic experience. Online ticket purchase made it convenient, though the sunset slot is a bit pricier. The breathtaking city view from the top is worth every penny. The walk through the museum provided a fascinating insight into the building's construction and architecture. A must-visit for a memorable New York City trip.

You just have to do it! One of the most iconic buildings in the world! I surprised my teenager with a week in NYC and she was in awe of this beautiful building! We went November day after thanksgiving so the city was pretty quiet , the New Yorkers having gone home for the Holidays, so best time to visit! No queue, and plenty of information on the way up to the top. Once you're up there it's breathtaking.. I love all the Art Deco , it's just one of the best buildings in the World!

The best time to visit the building is during sunset. It's quite windy and cold up top, but thankfully there are heaters. It's worth every dollar. You'll get to take astounding pictures so make sure you bring your best photography equipment!

The Empire State Building is an absolute marvel. Its iconic silhouette gracing the New York skyline is a sight to behold. The observatory provides breathtaking panoramic views that capture the city's essence. The experience is seamless, from ticketing to the elevator ride, all well-managed. The historical significance and architectural brilliance are awe-inspiring. The attentive staff ensures an informative and enjoyable visit. While peak times can lead to longer queues, the view is worth the wait. The Empire State Building stands as a testament to human achievement and innovation, deserving of a resounding five-star rating. It offers an unforgettable journey through time and a vantage point that encapsulates the heart of New York City.

The Empire State Building, an iconic symbol of New York City, stands tall and proud, truly embodying the heart of the metropolis. My recent visit to this architectural marvel left an indelible mark, and I feel compelled to share the experience in this detailed review. From the moment you lay eyes on the Empire State Building, its grandeur commands attention. As you approach, the intricate details of its Art Deco design unfold, showcasing the timeless elegance that has made it a beacon in the city skyline for decades. The exterior alone is a work of art, a testament to the rich history and cultural significance that this landmark holds. Upon entering, the journey through the Empire State Building is both educational and awe-inspiring. The lobby, adorned with period-specific details, sets the tone for the historical immersion that awaits. The knowledgeable and friendly staff contribute to the welcoming atmosphere, ready to assist and share insights about the building's history and significance. The ascent to the observation deck is an adventure in itself. The high-speed elevators whisk you to the top in mere moments, providing a thrilling introduction to the panoramic views that await. And oh, what views they are! The observation deck offers a breathtaking 360-degree vantage point of the city, allowing you to witness the sprawling metropolis below and the vast expanse of the horizon beyond. The beauty of Central Park, the glittering lights of Times Square, and the majesty of the surrounding skyscrapers all unfold before your eyes. The Empire State Building truly comes alive during sunset. The hues of the sky transform, casting a warm glow over the city, and the city lights begin to twinkle, creating a mesmerizing tableau. It's a spectacle that leaves you in awe of the city that never sleeps, and the experience is made even more magical by the occasional passing clouds, adding an ethereal quality to the view. However, amidst the wonder and enchantment, a slight drawback emerges – parking. The wishful longing for a seamless parking experience is met with the reality of the bustling city streets. Finding convenient parking near the Empire State Building can be a challenge, and the limited spaces often result in a time-consuming quest for a suitable spot. It's advisable to plan accordingly, exploring public transportation options or nearby parking facilities to alleviate this minor inconvenience. In conclusion, the Empire State Building is not just a structure; it's a living testament to the spirit of New York City. The beauty of its architecture, the historical richness within its walls, and the awe-inspiring views from its observation deck make it a must-visit destination. While the wish for effortless parking remains unfulfilled, the overall experience is a testament to the enduring allure of this iconic landmark. If you seek a profound connection with the heart of New York City and a visual feast for the senses, the Empire State Building is an unparalleled destination that will leave an indelible mark on your memory.

Midtown was desolate, but that’s something to experience now. We stood in a line on 34th street and we were the only thing happening. We got tickets to the 82nd and 102nd decks. You pass through the 80th floor on the way to 82, which is cool - more windows. More views. The tickets were timed for entry. We waited outside first and they scanned our temp before going in. Things most fast. Went through security. Took our time on the decks. Everyone was friendly. Everything was clean. Social distancing worked. There was hand sanitizer wherever you wanted it. On a clear day, you can see everything, but you wouldn’t know it was real except for the the moving buses and cars. The renovated 102nd floor was quite nice, with windows down to your feet. The fresh air on the 82nd floor deck was invigorating. I thought of the end of Sleepless in Seattle. It’s amazing they’re still building skyscrapers. Cranes basically at eye level. My almost 7-year old son was thrilled. Surreal as hell. A memory etched in place, take someone you love.

A popular tourist attraction in NYC, and it is an incredible experience to take a ride on the elevator and get a view of the Manhattan skyline nonetheless. The staff is entirely professional, and they make the visit relatively seamless. It gets pretty crowded so consider visiting it on weekdays and hours less busy. Also, consider the weather because if it is foggy/cloudy, the visibility decreases, and you may not see much from up there in the observation area.

We visited at night and we loved it! You were able to see all of the city nights from Manhattan, New Jersey, and Brooklyn. You were able to buy your tickets ahead of time which helped us with our no wait time. One the way up there were a bunch of different stops that explained how and when the building was build. Once you get to the observation deck you can spend as much time as you’d like so definitely take your time and take all of the pictures you’d like. It was super cool and I’d definitely do it again.

The Empire State Building is a 102-story[c] Art Deco skyscraper in Midtown Manhattan in New York City. It was designed by Shreve, Lamb & Harmon and built from 1930 to 1931. Its name is derived from "Empire State", the nickname of the state of New York. The building has a roof height of 1,250 feet (380 m) and stands a total of 1,454 feet (443.2 m) tall, including its antenna. The Empire State Building stood as the world's tallest building until the construction of the World Trade Center in 1970; following its collapse in 2001, the Empire State Building was again the city's tallest skyscraper until 2012. As of 2020, the building is the seventh-tallest building in New York City, the ninth-tallest completed skyscraper in the United States, the 48th-tallest in the world, and the fifth-tallest freestanding structure in the Americas. The site of the Empire State Building, located in Midtown South on the west side of Fifth Avenue between West 33rd and 34th Streets, was originally part of an early 18th-century farm. It was developed in 1893 as the site of the Waldorf–Astoria Hotel. In 1929, Empire State Inc. acquired the site and devised plans for a skyscraper there. The design for the Empire State Building was changed fifteen times until it was ensured to be the world's tallest building. Construction started on March 17, 1930, and the building opened thirteen and a half months afterward on May 1, 1931. Despite favorable publicity related to the building's construction, because of the Great Depression and World War II, its owners did not make a profit until the early 1950s. The building's Art Deco architecture, height, and observation decks have made it a popular attraction. Around 4 million tourists from around the world annually visit the building's 86th and 102nd floor observatories; an additional indoor observatory on the 80th floor opened in 2019. The Empire State Building is an American cultural icon: it has been featured in more than 250 TV shows and movies since the film King Kong was released in 1933. The building's size has also become a global standard of reference for the height and length of other structures. A symbol of New York City, the tower has been named as one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World by the American Society of Civil Engineers. It was ranked first on the American Institute of Architects' List of America's Favorite Architecture in 2007. Additionally, the Empire State Building and its ground-floor interior were designated city landmarks by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1980, and were added to the National Register of Historic Places as a National Historic Landmark in 1986.

This is a must visit when visiting NYC. Going inside is very organized. The staff are friendly and helpful. I liked how they are organized directing the flow of the visitors. Place is super clean. The view of NYC is spectacular especially during sunset. The souvenier shop is kind of pricey but we still bought some to bring home.

If you're visiting Manhattan or New York in general to do sightseeing then this should be on your list of places to visit. It was part of our NYC pass so we used that to get our tickets, but we had to run in during the day between other attractions to get it. The website of the provider of passes did not allow us to book ahead. Luckily we were visiting on a Thursday at the beginning of September so it wasn't busy late in the evening, and there were barely a couple of dozen people at the observation deck at 10:45pm when we came. We visited other observation decks during the day, so it was nice to do this one in the dark with all the city lights surrounding us. The weather was good, no clouds, maybe a bit windy, so that's definitely something to keep in mind and plan for ahead of time, if you can, since you don't want to be stuck in cloud cover and not see anything at all. Out of the Empire State building, Top of the Rock, One World Trade Centre and the Edge, we'd definitely plan to visit this one again. Not that the others are bad, it's just that they can't really beat the original - at least not yet.

I love this place more than anything in NY. I visited with my friends at the perfect time. Around 4:30 pm so that we can enjoy both day, sunset and evening view of the whole city. Highly recommend Wanted to give 5 stars but i think the ticket is quite expensive. Hundreds of people visit this place, then why so expensive. You can still make tons of money by setting a price low or at least giving students discount.

would say that this is not a busy place right now. We did not have to wait in line at all. There was ample opportunity to see the views on every side, and had almost no wait time to get an elevator. I felt comfortable the whole time I was up there, while I did not like the CN tower at all. There is a bunch of history at the bottom before you go up which is neat to see. There is also a few nice photo opportunities. This is my third time to NYC and my first time up to the top of the Empire State Building.

I enjoyed visiting the Empire State building. Inside the building is an educational section that explains how the building was built and why. After visiting I feel like I know a lot more than I didn’t know before I came. When you get up to the top there are additional areas that are higher up. They will give you the option to pay extra. We did not do the option to go up further because we felt like we were able to see quite a bit from where we were. There’s a walkway outside the building that allows you to view the city from many different angles and also take lots of great photos. We were there at night. Because it was dark, It was kind of hard trying to determine what we were looking at unless it was water or a building with distinct features. Still a very beautiful view . I feel we need to come back in the daytime to see that fantastic view. #TTip: get your tickets ahead of time and make sure to pick the time you actually want to go. They have night time openings but they will not let you go inside the building before your exact appointment time. Because they implemented his policy about 15 minutes prior to your lot of time you will see many many people get in line at the very same time to go in. Make sure you get there early or you will be at the back of a very long line.

Expensive but worth it! For me this was most likely a once in a lifetime experience. I really enjoyed the exhibits and photos downstairs before taking the lift to the observation decks. Even though it was a slightly cloudy day, the views were just breathtaking from up top. One this I noticed at the very top was how clean the glass was, this facilitated perfect views and excellent photographs too! Had the pleasure of talking to staff member Tara J who was working on the very top floor, while I don't have a massive fear of heights, my legs do tend to turn to jelly and Tara was really friendly and good humoured and whilst being professional and made me feel really comfortable being up so high. My dad and I spent a while talking to her, and it really just made the experience extra special hearing about her life as a New Yorker and even hearing her personal story of 9/11 was incredibly touching. Thank you Tara for taking the time to speak to us, as this was my first time visiting New York from Scotland, she made this experience really special.

Historic signature building of NYC. A must see. Although if you choose here then you won’t be able to see this building in the skyline - but the central location contributes its spectacular 360 degree view, overlooking downtown and uptown. You can come at different times of the day and see how the city wakes up, looking a bit cold and dull after working hard all day, and then transforms into a vibrant and energetic look after nightfall. The newly renovated indoors exhibitions are pretty interactive with short and sweet description catering to the worldwide tourists. The elevators are still a bit less well designed - but hey there should always be something left to be desired right?

The Empire State building is an iconic landmark of the Big Apple. It was built from scratch in about one year—a record—and was the tallest building in the city. It may have been the tallest building in the world. Of course it’s not any more but tourists love to come here because it’s part of NY history, like the Statue of Liberty. And of course the view is till spectacular!

My wife and I finally went to the top of or 86th floor observation deck on the Empire State Building and it was worth it ! You could go high at an additional cost but the outside deck was perfect. She’s a big fan of Sleepless in Seattle and loved every minute of the tour! The Art Deco building is beautiful, the entryway is setup nicely with the buildings history and the Kong set is great and the first floor lobby is area from Elf is stunning! The view is priceless! It was a beautiful sunny day so Go if you get the chance!

This is one of the attractions that you cannot missed when visiting New York! The Empire State Building is such an historical place and it definitely worth the visit. The building has been impecable maintained trough out the years and it offers a great experience, not only while walking trough the historical hallways or going up to the 102 floor 🤯, but it also will surprise you with a breath taking views of Manhattan and the feeling of the movement of the building. Yes, the building moves… and specially on windy days you will feel how it balances (which is perfectly normal by the way, because it was engineering designed to do that) but it is a awesome experience. 100% recommend 👍

This was a fun evening activity, highly recommend visiting later in the day/evening to see the city all lit up. Get your ticket in advance and be prepared for a line up to get through security, about 20 minutes for us on a Monday evening. The exhibits are interesting and the views spectacular.

I was intimidated about parking in New York City so, I called the Empire State Building and they were very helpful in the nearest parking deck. It’s on the same side as the building. But the entrance is on the other side with a little walk. We walked in and there is someone to greet and guide you. Easy to purchase tickets on the kiosk. Employees were all very helpful in guiding you and the elevators attendant was there as well. Lots to read and see. The view from in side the 86 floor was beautiful but the out side on a cold winter day was breathtaking.

Its total height is 1,250 feet (380 m), and if the antenna is included, it is 1,454 feet (443 m). The building's name is named after the nickname of the state of New York. The building was designed by Shreve, Lamb and Harmon. On January 22, 1930, the Empire State was officially started construction (groundbreaking). It was completed on May 1, 1931 and was the tallest building in the world until 1972 until the completion of the World Trade Center building. After the September 11 events, when the World Trade Center building was destroyed, this building once again became the tallest building in New York.

Very good view of the city. Very nice staff and fair prices. Not recommended in fog and rain. But if you haven't been to the building, you should do it.

Pricey, but worth the visit. We used City Pass tickets for entry, but would recommend regardless. Factor time into your visit for waiting in line and going through airport-style security. The vast majority of staff were incredibly helpful and made the visit run smoothly and efficiently. The view is beyond gorgeous.

We were there an hour before the sunset. We were able to catch a day time view of the City without lights and when it became dark, we also got a spectacular view of the City skyline in its full glory with all the lights on. Getting to the top was smooth and it could get crowded very soon. The views are just amazing.

It was a fantastic experience on Empire State. The 360-degree view was breathtaking, especially during the sunset in September when it was pretty full. If you're also a photographer, you have to be quick to find a good spot during summer sunsets. I enjoyed the experience, and I hope you have many more memorable moments there!

Has to be visited when in New York, but be prepared to queue. We waited for a good 45 minutes just to get inside, then it took another half an hour to get up. The queueing system wasn't brilliant either, and none of the security people in charge of it were very friendly. Beautiful inside, and the lift up is fantastic, very quick. Brilliant views across the city once on the observation deck. Also the obligatory "opportunity" to purchase a photo of yourself superimposed onto a background, at eye watering prices. Plenty of toilets dotted around. I've been up here twice, first time around 3 men used the sinks in the men's room as urinals, which was odd and meant I couldn't wash my hands. If you come in the morning or at night, you'll probably wait longer than in the afternoon. The views aren't as good as at the Rockefeller center.

Visiting from Houston, TX. Quite amazing view and experience. You cam definitely see the industrial revolution when you look at New York compared to Houston lol The Empire's upgrades do make it a must see especially with the interactive museum. The view from above is just breathe taking. Wish it wasn't so cold when I visited.

Whether you are a tourist or a New Yorker you must see this iconic site! The view is amazing! Along the way the little performance is brilliantly curated together. The history of this place and how it was built is a miracle in itself! The staff was welcoming and inviting. Now is a great time for the locals. There are very few visitors yet! I highly recommend this place without reservation

Well, this was a great experience to see the entire newyork city from top of the building. We loved that video while going to top floor in elevator. Also, historic ads for the tallest building. But we felt quite costly for that visit(40$ each). Kids were liked that photo with gorilla setup😁😍.

We were kind of really excited to visit this place, as it’s one of the wonders! It’s indeed yes.. kids were thrilled while entering the top floor and amusing things and the exhibits on the wall and the escalators were awesome too. I had a bit of confusion to visit “the Edge” over Empire State Building for the observatory, however my husband was curious to visit this building and it’s truly justified.

This is one of the most beautiful and iconic structures in New York City. Built almost 100 years ago by people who had no fear to stand atop iron beams over a thousand feet up and erect this building. Today going to the tip is a beautiful sight and for many people a once in a lifetime thing. Right now the place is partially under construction but in areas that you would not notice. There are few shops and eateries I'm here to satisfy your hunger. All in all a good place to take friends and family.

It is the most famous building for a reason. We visited Top of the Rock and The Edge, but Empire felt like the best of the 3. The edge had the neat glass floor, but it just felt basic. Being ontop of the Empire State building felt..significant. Plus, all the interactive exhibits (take pictures with King Kong, movie room, interactive kiosks with history, photo albums through history, etc, etc) made it that much better compared to the other two. Also, access to restrooms was easy and the staff seemed much happier to be there, while the other two locations everyone felt angry. Would highly recommend visiting. It is definitely worth it.

Iconic building. You can only go in 30mins before your booking time. There's nothing much to see/do except for going to level 86 for the view. I recommend going around sunset time to get both day and night views. It's not easy to get a good view due to the huge crowd and protective railings.

Visited the Empire State building. It was a great experience. The views were great, and the building was a lovely building. Definitely recommend buying ahead tickets. The outside view is very big and wraps around building, so you have 360-degree views. Would recommend as a one time visit. Just did 86th floor but was good enough.

This is absolutely a MUST for a trip to NYC!! It's definitely an iconic site and well worth paying for both decks. We did not take a specialty tour, just walked around ourselves to observe it's majesty, architecture, views and learn the history behind it. The only problem I had was trying to buy tickets on line. Don't. I kept getting error messages and then my card was charged and credited. I found out at ESB that it was better just to get tickets at a kiosk which is what we did with absolutely no wait time or difficulty.

The Empire State Building offers a truly breathtaking experience that words can hardly do justice to. It stands as one of the tallest and most iconic skyscrapers in the world, and ascending to its observation deck delivers an awe-inspiring view of the city that is nothing short of magical. The moment you step onto the observation deck of the Empire State Building, you're greeted with a panoramic view that stretches as far as the eye can see. The city sprawls out beneath you like a living, breathing entity, with its streets, buildings, and landmarks weaving a tapestry of life and activity. What sets this experience apart is not just the magnificent view, but the sensation of standing atop a structure that seems to touch the sky. As you gaze out, the sheer height and grandeur of the Empire State Building become palpable. It's a liberating experience that fills you with a sense of awe and wonder. Feeling the fresh breeze atop this towering marvel is not just refreshing, it's invigorating. It's a breath of freedom amidst the hustle and bustle of the city below. The peaceful serenity up there, high above the chaos, creates a unique contrast that's both liberating and contemplative. The Empire State Building also has a rich history, and it's impossible not to be moved by the knowledge that you're standing on a piece of architectural and cultural history. The observatory offers insight into the construction of the building and its role in shaping the skyline of New York City. In conclusion, the Empire State Building provides a one-of-a-kind experience that transcends mere sightseeing. It's a breathtaking journey to the top of one of the world's most iconic structures, where you'll feel on top of the world, both figuratively and literally. If you're in New York City, this is a must-visit destination that promises a memorable and truly liberating experience.

We got our tickets to the Empire State Building as part of our NY sightseeing pass. You have to book tickets in advanced for a timed entry pass. We booked it for sunset at 5:15pm but wasn't aware you had to go through a series of levels + security before you get to the top. It was evening by the time we got there. We also found the majority of staff quite rude, it's like they were just herding sheep from one point to the next. As a first time visitor, I wasn't really sure what to expect and I even asked one of the staff if this was the last level or was there another one and she just shook her head without saying anything. For comparison, we also visited the 'Top of the rock' which is the observatory on top of the Rockefeller Center and found the staff there a lot friendlier. There was also less waiting time to get to to the top so you were up close to your entry time.

The Empire State Building proudly boasts its status as the world's most famous building, and while this claim might be debated, it's certainly close to the truth. This colossal marvel was meticulously constructed in 1931 and remains one of the tallest structures in the United States. Upon entering from 34th Street, you'll be greeted by elegantly dressed staff, making for a grand entrance. I strongly recommend purchasing tickets online in advance; prices may vary throughout the day, but I paid $40 for a 7:30 pm tour. On the second floor, you'll explore the building's museum, where history comes to life in an engaging manner. What I initially expected to be a visit to the observatory turned out to be an all-encompassing American-style entertainment experience, complete with short films, statues, games, and paintings. Undoubtedly, it stands as one of the iconic symbols of New York City, and if you find yourself in the city, a visit to the Empire State Building is a must.

Rain all day with heavy mist and powerful wind... I still had a fabulous time! We bought the express pass with an add on 3 course meal (fantastic food and service - the best bartender). Due to the weather we were the only people in a lot of the exhibits and observation tower (102nd floor) 😍

We always love a visit to the top of the building, but going during Covid was an awesome experience... we had the entire observation deck to ourselves for more than 30 minutes... no other tourists! Usually there are hundreds of people up there and it’s hard to see around everyone. Also, no line what so ever! An absolutely amazing and beautiful experience!

It is a very lovely place to tour. The style of architecture is wonderful inside and out. It is a statement about New York City. Hopefully the city will continue with its greatness into the future. Although like other human places there is an ephemeral nature to anything human. This was built at the best time for the USA historically. The Empire State Building is on the hardest Granite in NYC, which is why all the really tall New York Buildings are near there. But there is another area of really hard granite that you can see in my over city view provided. It is under a cluster of tall buildings south of the Empire State building.

There are 5 main observation decks we considered, to get great views of New York. In the end we went for the classic option with the Empire State Building and the newest most thrilling one with the Summit. My favourite observation tower out of these two was the ESB as it did not scare me. I felt safe on the observation deck and it was not too crowded. The views of NY were amazing and I loved watching the sunset over this incredible city. I had a laugh at King Kong as I remembered the film and enjoyed the interesting attractions on the way to the observation deck. It was an incredible experience and one not to miss whilst visiting New York.

The intro floors with the story of the place, construction, and building is amazing. They follow it with its influence in culture and media, making you understand exactly why this tower is so important in modern times. The view at night from the top floor is amazing too, the 360 view on the 106 floor is cool too, but there is no more than a clear place for pictures and looking at the city from above.

Scary how high up and no one warns you about the fancy elevator that has a display screen on the ceiling and as you go up in the elevator you see the old construction workers basically building the tower as you rise. Hard to explain but it's a visual representation of them building it as you go up and can be a bit unnerving for those with issues with heights or enclosed/open spaces. I DEFINITELY recommend getting tickets in advance as there was quite a line when we went and I expect it gets even more people as they were reinvating the building to add even more modern exhibits and stuff. I also recommend going at night as there is nothing quite like the New York City skyline at night with the billions of little twinkling lights laid out before you. It was the experience of a lifetime and I can't wait to go back

Beautiful scenery! I loved the little exhibit displayed before going up higher. It was nice to go outside and see the city from that view. However, if you wanted to go up to the very top, there was an additional pay that we weren't warned about. We bought our tickets in advance and thought it was for everything but I guess not. Still a good place to go besides that.

I went to One World (cannot take pictures due to too much glare), the Empire State Building and the Top of the Rock. I liked both the Empire and the Rock (amazing view of the Empire State Building). Since I loved watching "Sleepless in Seattle", it was great to be there. There were a couple of things I didn't like about: 1. You don't get to see the Empire State Building😂 2. You don't get a clear view (however, I kind of liked it). 3. At night, your picture will look very red. I would revisit it if I come back to NYC! At 630pm on Thursday, there was no line up.

You can visit 2 View Point, ☝🏻one is inside the room (indoor) and the other one is outside. 🌸 Can be cold in winter but there is warmer outside. Enjoy! ❤❤❤

If u make it out to New York I would add this to your list to visit. The main difference I noted between top of the rock and empire: top of the rock u can see Central Park and all the icon buildings. They sell the map of all the buildings you can see from top of the rock. For $2. It helps to know what your looking at. And the top is enclosed by glass while empire has fencing . Seemed to feel more crowded at empire. An iconic building for all to see for sure. That ride up in the elevator was pretty entertaining. Felt like you were watching the building be built. Daughter liked acting like she was taken by King Kong!

The panoramic views of New York City from this renowned landmark were simply breathtaking. The Empire State Building observatory offers an unparalleled 360-degree view, allowing visitors to soak in the beauty and grandeur of New York City from a remarkable vantage point. The observatory is thoughtfully designed, featuring large glass windows that offer unobstructed views, making it an ideal spot for photography enthusiasts and those seeking to capture incredible memories. To enhance the experience, the observatory provides informative panels and interactive displays, offering fascinating historical facts and trivia about the Empire State Building and its significance in New York's skyline. It adds a layer of educational value, making the visit not only visually captivating but intellectually stimulating as well.

One of the most iconic buildings in New York, even thought the new constructions offer better views of the city, none of them offer the history and legacy this building offers. The tour of the building includes few videos, pictures of the building itself and it’s time line. The 86th floor is for the public city 360 view, one of the best experiences to see entire city sky line and architecture from the top. The entry ticket is kind of costly to take it as a stand alone ticket, it’s better to take the city pass which offers best value.

While the views are stunning from the Empire State Building. It’s not worth the hype. What you don’t see in the pics is how crowded the area on the 86th floor is. People literally on top of people. Strollers running over your feet. People pushing or just being rude to get their “perfect shot.” Not much room to move around. And for the price, you probably stay on the deck for 5-10 minutes. You are able to read history regarding the building as they usher you around like a herd of cows. I do NOT recommend. Spend your money else. I know while visiting NYC you’ll want to visit because it’s a “top destination.” But please don’t waste your time or money. We have to start being more honest about this “top destinations.” Enjoy my pics & try something else in NYC.

Was actually overwhelmed by the experience, which exceeded expectations. Definitely recommend going there when it's already dark because the views are positively dazzling. Finding your way upstairs, there is also a really nice interactive tour of the building process and photos of all the celebs that have been here. The absolute highlight has to be the views tho.

A must go experience. Not only was it a great view of the city but the information on the history of the building and NYC throughout the tour is amazing. Even the employee uniforms give you that historical feel of the doormen back in the day. Add on the *102nd floor*! It's great, I highly recommend

My favourite attraction in NYC. Soaking in the lights of NYC 86 floors above is a singular experience. Would recommend - going when NYC is safely past summer but not freezing. - choosing a less popular day (if they even exist). - catering at least an hour if you are alone, and 1.5hrs if you are with family. You'll need to queue to get in and take the lift up and down. - watching the sunset is great and gives you the best of both worlds. If you must choose, go at night instead of during the day.

Very enjoyable experience. I have done top of the rock and empire (twice) - I would choose the Empire State Building. It is so iconic and a great experience. It is a bit pricey if buying a ticket outside of a city pass. $52/adult. You can stay as long as you like though. Very accessible!!!!!!

This was my first visit to New York, and I am glad to say this experience was beyond my expectations! I had booked tickets for 6 PM, to view the sunset from the top, but unfortunately it rained that day in the evening, and so I couldn't go. When it finally stopped raining, I took a cab around 8 PM to Empire State. When I got there, I explained to the doorman that my ticket was for 6 pm, but I couldn't come due to the rain. I was pleasantly surprised & delighted when he admitted me in with a smile - no questions asked! I got to experience breath-taking views of the night over Manhattan! It was truly awesome! And how can I forget the cool souvenir shop at the Empire State building - Don't miss it. I would definitely recommend this experience to all visitors to New York!

This is a must-see when in New York. It's probably one of the most iconic buildings in the world. We booked the option to go to the 102nd floor and it didn't disappoint. A clear sky gave us great views of the city. There is also an opportunity to learn about the history of the building at the lower floors, which I'd recommend doing.

Timeless piece of art. A must see when in the big apple. The information is amazing, everything is very clean and well organized. The staff are not overly friendly, but they are working with the public all day. Pay the extra couple bucks and go to the 102 floor. It's spectacular.

I bought the ticket going to the 86th floor, and I thought that was quite sufficient. You're also able to buy a ticket for almost twice the price, that goes slightly higher. While I haven't tried that, I can't imagine that it is worth it. The view and pictures I got were plenty good from this view. If you're going during normal weekdays, don't bother with any fast-track or priority tickets. The experience is what you would expect.

Went last minute on a Friday evening. Pretty busy, security took a while. Be prepared for a wait on weekend evenings, about 45min to an hour total. Got tickets on site at kiosk but you can order ahead. Some exhibitions on way to the elevators, faux building site, King Kong attack (super awesome), some stupid celebrity wall, and so on. Sight was awesome and definitely worth the admission (sunset charge was a bit much though, sun had long set). You can enjoy the view from inside or take a walk outside. Chilly outside (mid February), but they have heaters all around so that helped nicely! Stayed for an hour (and a half maybe) I think, take your time, try to find the little details, rooftop parties, sights, billboards. Don't be like those dime a dozen dumb social media wannabes (that you find selfie'ing and posing all over NYC sights), memories are better than a quick pic.

Overall experience is excellent. The view from 86th floor after sunset is breathtaking and totally worth the wait. Even on colder nights the heaters on the 86th floor make it bearable to view comfortably. Purchasing tickets or passes in advance is helpful but they let you in only on time of visit so you might have to wait outside the building in the line up if you are early.

Many people want to see and visit a building which is still even taller than others .It is also the famous building in the world .Its age is more than 100 years old but still brand new .It attracts tourists from many countries who have different cultures , backgrounds and use different languages .They were overjoyed when they saw this building but they didn't find the KingKong appeared in the movie .Many tourists have already visited here by cars and air plans.Long time ago when there were no passenger plans some tourists lived in a long distance came here by boat to see this building because it was at that time not only the tallest but also gave them a proud of living in America .After this building in competition many much taller buildings were built in the world.

Awesome! What a feeling, what an Atmosphere. Great view and the whole Building spreads a kind of masterclass. If you wanna visit it, than by day AND night!!

For the money ESB gives you a lot of history, pictures and interactive exhibits before you get to the observation deck. I appreciated that there more than just an elevator ride as part of the experience. It was cool visiting for the first time on the 90th anniversary. Beautiful monument to human ingenuity and engineering.

The Empire State building tour is a must-do activity if you are visiting New York. In fact, this is my second trip to the 86th floor of servation deck. Having watched so many Hollywood movies featuring this iconic building, you feel part of the experience. Of course, the unfettered views from the top is something that you will always remember. I splurged and upgraded the ticket to also take a trip to the 104th floor. However, I feel the 86th is the better option since you get to view New York without a glass between you and the cityscape. It was very cold and windy when I visited. My mobile was almost yanked from my hands by the winds so you need to be careful. I had to come inside every 5 minutes to warm my fingers. The staff was very courteous and helpful. When we visited there were only a few people (I guess because of the omicron virus fear). I managed to get some really good pictures from the top. Highly recommended. This is a must do activity.

Such a great tourist place to visit when in NYC. The views are amazing and the experience is very classy. It is pricey, so this is not a budget thing to do. All of the staff was helpful and friendly, and the gift shop at the end is very cute.

A truly engineering marvel. 102 floors were built in just 475 days back in 1930s. This had gone out to become the world’s tallest building of the times. The view from the top floors are absolutely breath taking. It’s good to visit this during the night when the entire city is lit. The normal tickets at ~40$ take you to the 86th floor. At 30$ extra, you can go to the 102nd floor. It’s definitely a must visit

Such an amazing experience. An absolute must if visiting New York. Whether you've been before (like my boyfriend years ago) or visiting for the first time (like myself!) it is a brand new experience that you'll want to designate a good 2 hours to, at least! Take a great camera and splurge to visit the very top floor for some stellar shots.

I loved the experience of visiting such an historical building, how they told the story at the tour and all the items and details you find during the stay. I recommend to buy a City Pass so you’ll save a some dollars in the main spots of the city. The view at the sunset and night is amazing.

We had issues with our sightseeing pass. The staff was kind enough to call the company so that we could straighten it out. The view at sunset was breathtaking. A couple got engaged while we were there and everyone cheered for them. Awarm feeling of camaraderie.

This is a really great attraction! We paid for the tickets to go to the top and it was spectacular. Then when we were leaving we saw a kiosk that offered to upgrade us to the VERY TOP! So we did it and normally I would never do that but wow we loved it! We met Gordon (employee) at the top who was so gracious and answered our questions and told us such great stuff about the city.

My first time visiting was in 2014 and I went in the morning. I remember it was really good, lots of people (as always) and had fun. This time in 2022 I decided to go at sunset hour. I believe I would have had a better time if the weather was nicer. Since the building is so high, it'll always be windy. But when I went it was windy and raining, so make sure to check the weather report so you can enjoy your time more up there. Gorgeous view, fun museum and lovely staff! Pro tip: if you are entering with city pass voucher, remember you have 20% off your purchase in the store!

There’s no other building more iconic than the Empire State Building! I really enjoyed the tour as it was very informative and the staff were very helpful as well! The view from the top is amazing! You can’t go wrong to visit this great building when visiting New York City!

An incredible art deco building. The observation deck is great. There are views from all of New York. The lines are long so it is best to buy tickets in advance. Sadly when we went, it was not so clear a day, so we had a limited view but it still was nice.

  • 4/5 M. Faizan K. 8 months ago on Google
Iconic of course and a must visit for the first time tourist. However, be warned there are long queues and it gets pretty crowded so it's tough to get a good view especially during the golden hour. Not worth using the picture package. Just soak in the view at night time. The building itself is very art deco and impressive. The staff is very nice. Buy tickets in advance. Soak in the view. Stroller friendly access to the deck.

Spectacular views from every angle. It is highly recommended to visit early in the morning because the crowds and wait times for the elevators are crazy. It is a bit scary but it is always good to step out of your comfort zone. Overall, well worth the admissions costs to experience this once in a lifetime thrill. Truly incredible panoramic views of all of NYC including the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

We went to One World first which was nice but I just love the open air view from the Empire State Building with no glass obstruction. There are some steel grid protectors but when you get up close your view is completely unobstructed. I highly recommend the New York GO PASS! It will save you lots of money if you plan in doing multiple towers and other tourist attractions.

We went here with my mother and little sister on our first day during our trip in New York, it was our first time in the USA and all I can say is that those Americans really see everything in huge 😵‍💫😅 The view was breathtaking and fortunately we didn't have to wait for too long ! But we had to book for another time later that day, this permitted us to visit what we had to see all around especially Macy's right next to it in the 34th street (also a must) ☝️. Without any surprise, the visit was great, including the little museum and the history of the monument, people were welcoming and heck those elevators are damn fast compared to most Europeans lifts 😂 (86 floors in no time!)

It was a great place. it's expensive though. Do schedule ahead of you wanna come and go in. I went with 1 adult and 2 kids. Cost around $200?!. It was worth the money. Great View! Recommend to go at night and day! Just plan ahead as my advice! I didn't so we had to wait half and hour and a HUGE line. 🫶🏼😊

I think it’s worth the price to go and see this magnificent landmark. The whole of New York will be at your feet. I’d recommend going around 4-5pm just before the sunset 🌅🌆📷 … also, if you can, get your tickets in advance 🎫

It's just one of those things you have to do once and check it off your list. Spectacular views. We spent about an hour start to finish. Pretty overpriced in my opinion, but go for it. It's a memorable activity. The employees were super polite.

  • 5/5 Manu Raj S. 8 months ago on Google
It was super crowded and people were pushing each other to get the best shot. However, the spectacular views pays for it. In my personal opinion, I would recommend visiting it at least once and get a view of Manhattan from the top.

Iconic place to visit! The building brings and amazing city view! It is incredible how many years ago the engineer built this. It is very organized, and with very good service. My first time was 12 years ago, at that time the city did not has the others big buildings with roof view options. Now is easier visit and without long lines of people

What an impressive experience this was. I have chosen to go up until the top floor. The ticket was expensive to my opinion when I bought it, but looking back I would not have wanted to do the experience any other way. The experience starts out a museum on the building of the Empire State Building and on the appearance of the building in various movies. The advantage of the 86st floor is that you can go outside for your pictures and the views, but the 360 degrees view on the 101st floor really was the cherry on the cake for me. Will never forget this!

  • 5/5 Mark G. 7 months ago on Google
The building is not too far off 100 years old. Approx 8 years to go. It has recently been fully upgraded with significant improvements clearly evident to anyone who works in building services engineering. The building is in top class shape and it puts many much newer buildings to shame because it was designed to last. The views from the top can't really be captured in photos. They need to be seen with your own eyes to be fully appreciated.

Hands down; one of the best New York experiences you can have at any price. I’ve visited previously (20 yrs ago) and was reluctant to “do it again” I couldn’t have been more wrong. What they’ve done since then to enhance the customer experience is night and day. Absolutely fantastic experience, and easily the most innovative and interactive I’ve ever experienced in the city. Full five star awarded & a Major Major Go…

This is a truly magnificent edifice that was fascinating to see in person. The tour included a walk down memory lane showing highlights of the remarkable construction process. The panoramic views from the 86th floor were breathtaking, and visitors were courteous to make space for others to take photos that they’re bound to excitedly show to their friends and family.

the views from the Empire State Building were like no other. Also being outdoors, you can feel the wind and get a measure of all these buildings endure year in and year out. Being in a central location also makes it one of the best observatories in NYC in my opinion.

  • 5/5 Jozef W. 6 months ago on Google
Famous staple of the New York skyline is with the visit to see views of the city and learn about the history of the building. Staff were very professional, friendly and helpful. Ride to the top was very fast and had a short video play while you ascended. Great place to take kids as well. Overall highly recommended and should be added to your list of sites if it isn't already.

Lovely views! Yes it isn’t the tallest building around but the elevator ride, the observation deck and the King Kong staged scenes make the experience so wholesome. Also, loved that you could see several landmarks from up there! Times Square, Central Park, …

The Empire State Building is the symbol of New York and the pride of its architects. This almost 100-year-old building still fascinates many travelers and others. The magnificent facade and interior of this building are already a legend. I highly recommend it, even though you can visit newer buildings. However, ESB has that "something".

Being influenced by my mom ever since I was a kid, Sleepless in Seattle has been one of my favorite romantic movies and the ending scene at Empire State Building has marked dearly in my to go list. I have visited the city 10 years ago with my family but we didn’t make it all the way up to the observatory, and finally I got to be there with my boyfriend this time. Even though it was raining dogs and cats at the time we reached the observatory floor, we were lucky and patient enough to see rainbow and sunset through the thick clouds after like a 30mins wait inside. Even though we did consider other newer roof top view spots like the Rock, we still picked the classic choice of Empire State Building without regrets. It’s just amazing to finally witness the scene back in the movie! P.S.The top of the world view is definitely stunning, but it also reminds me how much I don’t really like to live in a busy city like NYC!

We went for my girlfriends birthday. It was an amazing experience. Great view. Definitely go to the top floor. We paid for premier tickets but none of the lines were long so maybe you can save money and do regular tickets.

One of the most magnificent sky scrapers in New York City! Went up to observatory on the 86th floor to view the city at sundown and it was definitely an amazing experience. In the building they showcase the history telling how this Art Deco was made and how it has become one of the most iconic buildings in the world. The only thing is that the outdoor part of observatory is fenced with metal bars that somehow, just slightly, block the view. Although, this was of course understandable for safety reasons. The views from above were nevertheless breathtaking.

My family visited on Christmas Eve and that’s probably why there was no line to buy tickets. We entered the building as soon as we got there, bought tickets, and started walking through the museum immediately. The museum was interesting but I was really looking forward to the view. The nighttime view was spectacular. On the way out, I bought a snow globe from the gift shop. When I exited the building, however, I realized that I was missing a glove (I had just bought it that day). The staff and security were so helpful and I managed to find the glove at the gift shop! It was a great experience. 😊

It's been 13 years since I last visited and it is now so much better then it was back them. Really well organised, flowing queues (unlike alot of viewing platform is New York) and really friendly staff. The museum is a bonus and really interesting, it's such an amazing building and anyone visiting NYC for the first time should definitely visit.
