Battery park is great place to spend day. Amazing view and so many things to enjoy. Really nice pond with ducks , fishes and water fall. Nice kids playground with a lot to do for kids. Volleyball court, shopping mall and so many small and big restaurants. Also you can take ferry up and down on Hudson. Just visit at least once so you know what I’m talking about.

Amazing experience. COVD restrictions in place (must wear masks in building). Restaurants are opened. Loved seeing the animals again. The zip line was great as well. You ride up, get off, look around the top of the zoo, get back on and go down. There are animals viewable from the zip line once you are in the air. Tennis shoes are best as sons of the walk is uphill.

Battery Park is a fantastic spot for families to visit. It's a great place for an outing with plenty of people and things to do. You can watch dancers perform, and there are artists who can draw your picture while you pose. There are many statues, and you can see the Statue of Liberty across the water, which looks amazing from Battery Park. The park also has lots of benches, a fountain where kids can play, and, of course, you can see the Statue of Liberty. I heard some nice music when I went there. It's close to restaurants, ferry rides, and museums. The park also has important monuments and statues with lots of interesting history to learn. It's a great place for the whole family to enjoy.

The Battery, true to its heritage as New York’s birthplace park, is open for enjoyment of the harbor and gardens. For more than 200 years, The Battery has been an invaluable part of New York City’s history. In 1855, Castle Garden, situated inside the Park, became the world’s first immigrant depot. Decades before Ellis Island was built or the Statue of Liberty gazed down at incoming boats, millions of newcomers arrived at The Battery from Europe and elsewhere. Although its role has changed, people from around the world still visit The Battery for a view of the city's past. Ferries dock at its shore to pick up visitors to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, and all summer long concerts play on its grounds. Its beautiful waterfront and flower gardens make The Battery a lovely place to wander. For those who'd like a longer stroll, the park’s location at the southern tip of Manhattan makes it a classic starting point for walking tours through the city.

This is a small and mighty park. So much history of NYC is here. This is where you can catch the Statue of Liberty ferry and you get to have a nice view of 1 WTC. The parks have some nice grass area. Dogs are allowed to run free on the grass so make sure to look for surprises. The sea glass carousel Is here too. This is a nice place to watch the sunset too. The 4/5 Bowling Green stops here. Check this place out!

Excellent public park. Clean and wonderfully landscaped with great riverfront views. Particularly liked sitting underneath the trees to have lunch in Battery Oval after taking in the sights on the Staten Island Ferry and visiting the nearby Skyscraper Museum. The restrooms are also surprisingly well-kept considering they are in NYC.

Very clean, safe and nice city park. Beautiful views of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Wonderful statues and monuments all over the park. Fabulous playgrounds for the kids. The sea glass carousel is must! Even if you are an adult take a few minutes and take a ride! Coffee and food stands are all over the park. So wether you want to sip and stroll or park it on a chair in the green spaces and sip or eat they have it.

Amazing view, great place to spend time with kids and family. Kids have plenty of space to run around. You can take the Staten Island Ferry or the Statue of Liberty ferry from here. It is close to public transport hence good for tourists. The only negative is the crowd, it’s way too crowded that you miss the beauty of the place.

Great park with so many different activities. We initially visited the park to ride the ferry to visit the Statue of Liberty 🗽 and Ellis Island. We purchased our tickets online, which I recommend, we were able to board right away and avoided the ticket line. When returning, we checked out the dog park, seaglass carousel, and playground, which all were spectacular. We had a great time.

This is a park that is crazy underrated. If you go to the museum office inside the battery there are park rangers that have a wealth of knowledge shot the history of the battery itself. It was a fort (obviously) a concert hall, and an aquarium among other things. The history here is rich and worth exploring, plus you’re a few minutes walk from Wall Street and the Bull statue.

This is my favorite zoo! We visited this time for the electric safari which is their version of the zoo lights. We were still able to see some of the animals in the indoor exhibits and as always, feeding the giraffes was the best part! Lots of good photo opportunities and they’re so fun to feed. It’s only $3 for a handful of lettuce or $5 for two so it’s a fun time without having to spend a ton of money. Masks required indoors but not outdoors unless you’re within 6ft of another party

This zoo is spectacular! The setting is beautiful and relaxing, you feel like you're in the mountains. The animal set ups are so natural and large. You get an opportunity to see so many animals up close and interact with them, most at no extra charge. Really a great experience all around. Best zoo in Colorado for sure!

Been a long time member at this zoo... Every time we go, it’s like a new special experience in one way or another!! Sometimes it is watching them feed the tiger (WOW!!!), sometimes, you get lucky to catch a literal cat fight between the leopards (no lie- we were so lucky. Probably the first and last time ever!!!), sometimes they are in the middle of feeding those mammoth hippos (for real?!?! Craziness!! “Huge teeth” my toddler always talk about...)... This zoo is incredible. Truly not enough time to rave the fantastic experiences...

The park itself has some interesting statues and lots of carefully manicured landscaping, but it is easily missed as many people are only passing through it on their way to the Liberty/Ellis Island ferries, or to the Staten Island Ferry. It also breaks away from the steel jungle of skyscrapers and provides good shots of the towers - especially if you aren't going on a ferry for the iconic skyline photos.

Quiet and serene place to go to. However I get an eerie atmosphere by late evening as the sun set down. Am not sure of its the same during the bright daylight. There were few people enjoying the evening sunset and sea breeze as well some joggers working out. The place could be better lit to facilitate a more safe and welcoming aura.

Great place to go for the entire family… great place for an outing …. Lots and lots of people and activities going on…you can see dancers in the park performing their art… there are also artists to draw a sketch of you while you pose… lots and lots of statues….also across the water is the Statue of Liberty. You have a great view of it from Battery park. Here also you can take a ferry to go see the Statue of Liberty. Fun place to take the entire family to feast the eyes and have a nice, awesome, great time!

Manhattan's beauty spot with parks and restaurants and entertainment sopts, jetty for cruises and a perfect Statue of Liberty view point. The place is designed with an intent to make it a tourist attraction and a place of public entertainment. The intent is clearly seen to be fulfilled as we see the crowds thronging the Battery. The Clinton Fort also offers a great view.

Amazing views of the Statue of Liberty & Ellis Island (albeit at a distance). There were numerous street vendors selling fresh fruits & other foods. A lot of park benches. Given current construction, it took walking a ways to get to an opening in the fences to see the Statue, Island & Brooklyn Bridge. Well worth the trip to catch a quick glimpse!

The battery park has got great history with the New York City and the shaping of United States. The ferry to Statue of Liberty is right there and the Staten Island ferry is also very close. FYI, Staten Island ferry is free, yes you read correctly free. The battery park gives good views of New Jersey skyline, Statue of Liberty and the governer's island. Also there is a palace where they used to have the registration for the immigrants a century ago. Many iconic NYC landmarks are nearby like the New York Oil Building, Asian Museum of Arts and the charging bull and wall street. Also there is a lot of historical architectural landmarks, which have deep historical significance. It reflects the legislative significance of New York City and United States as a whole.

This is a fun zoo during winter. Nice to get out and get some exercise and see some cool exhibits. Don't really totally agree with zoos but it seems like all the employees really cared about the animals and were having fun. I like the walkways and views.

It's hard to circulate due to all the barricades that are placed around the park, there was a lot of garbage and people selling you stuff following you around. I think this park needs more nature, it's a shame since it's a very iconic place and it's in desperate need of reforestation.

This is a small park usually crowded with people coming from or going to Liberty Island to see the statue of liberty 🗽 including us. We had fun here sitting on the bench in the shade of trees protected from the sun to relax a bit before moving ahead on our visit. The view of the statue of liberty from here is amazing but as with other places, there are a lot of scams going on here as well so be careful who you interact with while you are here.

Wall Street the 9/11 memorial and the ferry to Statue of Liberty. I love this area and the park is beautiful. Only negative is ticket salesmen are aggressive and won’t even let you into battery to buy tickets. They will tell you anything to keep you from buying the tickets from the park.

Great place to walk around and get a glimpse of the Statue of Liberty. Some sections close to the edge were closed due to renovations though which wasn't ideal. Also check opening hours for the carousel, it might not be open.

Great place for catching a glimpse of lady liberty. Just a heads up, there is a fence that no longer allows you to get along the water. So the picture I snapped of Lady Liberty was from behind the fence 50 ft from the water.

Battery Park is a pretty nice park. It is a great place for tourists because it is historic as well as near other attractions such as the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It is a good place to walk around before or after your trip to/from the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island. The views are very nice and you can even see the Statue of Liberty from here without even getting on the ferry.

Battery Park at the lower tip of Manhattan has some interesting historical significance. There is the fort Castle Clinton, that used to protect New York harbor still standing there There are the monuments to military personnel who died during World war II and the Korean war. Fantastic place for kids and adults. Animals and their enclosures are very well taken care of. The ski lift ride is also worth it. I have a 6 year old and it was an epic day. We said 10 outta 10. Highlights; we got to pet wallabies, we were less than a foot away from penguins, we get giraffes, saw lions up close, gorillas, rhinos, fed birds they even landed on our hands for the millet. Cool yutes(fancy tents) at the top you can relax. And sweeping amazing views! We Will be going back within 6 months. Allocate at minimum 3 hours.

The drive up to the zoo and the zoo grounds are absolutely beautiful! I went during winter so the animals were in their indoor enclosures. I believe if the temperature doesn't get above 40 degrees they will stay inside. I loved feeding the giraffes and birds!

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is one of the best zoos I've visited - not because of the number of animal types, but because of how close up you are able to get to the animals. I'd never fed or touched a giraffe before, so being able to feed all the giraffes was a new and exciting experience. You can also feed the black rhino and African elephants. I walked amongst wallabies and penguins - another first. Most of the animals have realistic outdoor habitats with exceptional vantage points for zoo visitors. Really nice zoo!

  • 5/5 Libby H. 3 years ago on Google
A great zoo. We have a blast feeding the giraffes and chickens. It was a little cold so some of the animals were hiding or not out. We got there around feeding time so we heard the lions making noise waiting for their food- very cool.

  • 5/5 Katie R. 3 years ago on Google
One of my favorite zoos. I've been going here since I can remember and the improvements I've seen are all in the animals' best interests. Just know you're up for a walk so wear proper shoes.

Best Zoo I have ever been too! Feed the giraffes, all the animals you could want to see, wonderful exibits you get a good look at the animals and they're wonderful specimens. The price is fair & I went at 3pm. All the animals were out.

Great zoo. Workers are all helpful and informative. My second time to this zoo, and I enjoyed both visits. It is on the side of a mountain, so be prepared to walk. Most of the animals were out and visible in the early mornings when I went.

Awesome zoo! Come feed the giraffes. Bring water. Zoo is on the side of the mountain.

  • 4/5 Josh N. 3 years ago on Google
The zoo and it's concept of adopting injured or older animals is great. The views and location is great also. However, the sheer number of people not wearing masks was noticable. It was also noticable that there was no staff to be found enforcing or even being present to encourage mask wearing. Much of the zoo is outdoors, but there are several indoor exhibits with no enfornforcement of signs indicating a limit to the number of people allowed in at a time. Visit at your own risk.

When We went My dad Had and the rest of his work had to put up Christmas lights on Oct 10th, 2020....And it took a while but everyone got the lights up....the animals were super awesome. It is a really cool zoo, you get to feed the giraffes for 3$ for a handful and 5$ for 2 handfuls. There were many animals that ordinary people dont see. like the Lion or Tiger, Leopard, Jaguar.....And more...but this zoo is my favorite..

We love our Zoo. That said, it is not a safe place to be right now. (Donate for the time being) There is inadequate enforcing of distancing guidelines. People bunch up in a bottle neck fashion. They have people entering going two different directions. Which sounds good on paper, but backfires in reality. It would make way more sense to have a flow of people going one direction. It would also help if staff would help usher folks blocking walkways which causes a "bunch up". It seems it would also be beneficial to post staff members in areas with crowd limits. They have signs that say "15" people max ect in the areas like the wolf viewing area. Yet they were packed with many of us struggling to wait our turn without crowding the walkway or eachother. They have cleaning procedures, but it seems that some of the staff are taking short cuts. It's hard to clean a Skyride seat while loading and unloading passengers. They were cheerful, but seemed overwhelmed. Example: Not spraying cloths used to wipe down high touch areas, wiping one arm rest bar as it quickly passes by. Unfortunately there is only so much they can do. We will not be returning for some time, but will donate what we can. I wish health officials would give them some better guidance. We have a great zoo so people travel across the state to go. It seems to me that using the emails from the online tickets (in the event of a positive case) could be used to notify those who may have been exposed that day. Although that may be a privacy issue. People could opt in if they would like to do so. I know health officials are already using this method. Some of our local restaurants take names and phone numbers for just that reason.

Amazing collection of the natural sciences. I loved the various aquariums, the rainforests of the world, the skulls exhibit, and the planetarium. There is so much to see here, definitely need at least 1/2 a day here to comfortably see everything and not rush through. It is pricey to enter but there are a few discounts available.

Accessible but informative descriptions and displays. What a great introduction to local Bay Area ecology. Highly recommend the shows at the Planetarium. Bring your own food if you can because food can be quite expensive (12-16 bucks per dish). Important: Beware of bike theft, I got my bike stolen while I was in the museum (it was locked right next to the museum), there are surprisingly no security cameras pointing out in front of the museum (because they promote using bikes or public transport to decrease the carbon footprint). This was a real bummer and dampened the entire experience, but I should have expected this as we are still in New York, NY (high bike theft, car theft rate). Please use a hardened U-lock of you do choose to parks yours there.

Always love this section of downtown, the lawn was closed off for a while but now it's opened and has quite a few chairs to relax in. I tend to visit the battery in the late weekday afternoon and surprisingly it hasn't been that crowded, a few tourists but nothing crazy, on weekends that tends to be a different story of course. Perfect area for just resting, taking pictures, having a little bite to eat, picnic, or read a book (not sure if people still do that):-) The lawn is well maintained, however you may want to bring some bug repellent... Last time I visited I couldn't stay as long as I wanted to because I was being eaten up by gnats/ flies...

The Battery Park is not a too big park but it’s a historical and well know park in Manhattan, New York. All the ferries operate to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty from the New York and it is from this Battery Park. You can enjoy the SeaGlass Carousel, East Cost Memorials, Water Fountain and Foods in the park. Wheelchair accessible Restrooms available

It is the starting point to visit the Statue of Liberty, the name of the park comes from the batteries that protected the entrance to the port of NY. It has a very beautiful and unique carousel, with fish that simulate a fish tank ... at night it is spectacular.

Lovely little park in southern Manhattan NYC. The architecture of the buildings at this park are so unique. There is a cafe that is not open in the winter. It is free and there is a kids playground. This is where the entrance to the Staten island ferry and the Statue of Liberty ferry are located.

This is a very cute park to have a walk around, welcome green area's which NYC is lacking in some other places so its very welcome seeing this near a financial district. Not a fan of the snake handler as animals should not be used for peoples entertainment, but there was other entertainment/dancing and the tourists seemed really engaged. There is a very interesting statue currently installed called "‘The Great Debate” as shown in my picture which is worth a look. There are some other great spots to get pictures that are not obvious until you spend some time there. Worth a look if you are around the area.

Nice park in general. Unfortunately there are many construction works and the park is partially blocked by the tourism around the Statue of Liberty. Toilets are really clean for public restrooms, also the toilet paper is very thin.

A very good place for a lovely morning stroll or an evening walk, with your pet or your loved ones or your friends. A great place for photographers too. The only drawback I see is the lack of any cafes nearby.

It's a nice place to leisurely stroll around or take your morning run....just beware of dog droppings. Apparently the rule in new york is to own a dog and take him out, but completing your responsibility ends there. So watch where you step...additionally the views of the bay, statue of liberty, ellis island, governor's island and the memorials in the park are a must see.

A day with my children. Park was very clean. People were orderly. Had a hard time finding Castle Clinton for the excursion, maybe some more signage to assist. The first thing to do is visit the clean restrooms. The attendants were phenomenal in kindness, alertness, and promptness as visitors hurried to board the ships to Lady Liberty! If you plan to visit make sure you get there early with your sneakers and jacket. It was cool and breezy. Visit the Museum! Do not Skip that part! We didn't go to Ellis Island and the gift store we needed more time! Get there Early. I believe you need 5 hours and not 3. Heavy tourist attraction. ENJOY!

Great spot for a quick getaway "from the city". You can relax over here, simply sit on a bench or a grass and do nothing. Or grab your lunch and eat it on the waterside. It is also a great spot for jogging.

Stopped in our our motorcycle trip from Middle TN. Was expecting to be able to see the Statue of Liberty a little better then we did and they were under construction so the view was hindered. (Which construction is needed and I completely understand!) Unfortunately we couldn't go into the battery to tour it but it was neat to see the history and beauty around it. We didn't have time to take the boat to Liberty Island but we want to go back and take our kids for sure.

Nice place They need public restrooms and water fountains. definitely need to security because people let their dogs poop in the middle of the sidewalk and don't even clean. We waited more than an hour in order to be able to abort the fairy to go to the Statue of Liberty. When they were done with whatever problem they had, then they came to In form the people. They need some shade the sun was very hot. And the water is three dollars to bottle.

While wandering through New York City, I stumbled upon Battery Park, a gem located at the southern tip of Manhattan. Overlooking the harbor, this park offers not only scenic views of the Statue of Liberty but also a rich tapestry of history and art. The pathways are lined with various monuments and sculptures, each telling its own story. The East Coast Memorial, commemorating the valor of World War II servicemen, was particularly moving. As a gateway to Ellis Island and Liberty Island, you can feel the weight of history here, thinking of the countless immigrants who once saw the shores of America for the first time. There's a sense of tranquility as you walk through the meticulously maintained gardens. The gentle sounds of water and glimpses of ferries going to and from the Statue of Liberty add to the allure. Beyond its historical significance, Battery Park is also a hub for cultural events. From music festivals to outdoor exhibitions, there's a vibrancy that showcases the city's modern spirit. What truly sets Battery Park apart, however, is its ability to provide a quiet refuge amidst the city's ceaseless energy. Sitting on a bench, watching the sunset over the water, and seeing Lady Liberty in the distance is an experience every visitor should cherish. In essence, Battery Park embodies New York City's rich past while embracing its dynamic present. An absolute must-visit spot for any traveler to the Big Apple.

The Battery in New York is a true gem. It offers stunning views of the Statue of Liberty and a peaceful escape from the city's hustle and bustle. A perfect place to unwind, take a leisurely walk, or simply soak in the beauty of the harbor. A five-star destination for relaxation and scenic beauty in the heart of Manhattan.

Lovely quiet and historical place in New York, space in a coastal park area for birds & butterflies. Lovely memorial area with nearby fountains, we walked all along the coastal path to Brooklyn bridge, good sidewalks and facilities to use on the route! Clean restrooms.

Well I was in this park 3 years ago and I had impression that it is small but cute. This time it was horrible experience! They closed the promenade near water where you can make nice picture and see Statue of Liberty and now there are only crowds of people and gates for ferry everywhere. Really big disappointment. I would not recommend anymore to go there.

Great visit. But was disappointed that the binoculars weren't where I remembered. Had to take the ferry across for my visiting relatives to get a better glimpse of lady liberty. 1 hour!a

I went in to see the Statue of Liberty from the distance. Because I didn't have time to actually go to the island itself. It was a fairly average park, enough benches to sit on, dogs welcome. I can't remember if I saw a playground. It was a nice walk around the park. They had ferries that will take you to Ellis island to see the Statue of Liberty and back. I heard it takes about an hour. The view of statue of liberty wasn't actually bad, but it wasn't close enough to admire her details. If you're running short on time, The battery park is a perfect place to see the Statue of Liberty as you stop by to see the Brooklyn bridge which is pretty close from here.

Battery Park is a popular tourist destination and a peaceful retreat from the bustling streets of New York City. It features walking and biking paths, gardens, memorials, and historical monuments. The Battery Garden, located within the park, is a beautiful area with seasonal plantings and a waterfront promenade. Overall, Battery Park offers a combination of beautiful views, historical significance, and recreational activities, making it a must-visit destination in New York City.
