The hotel itself isn’t bad, great location, was given an excellent view and the room was modern, clean, and comfortable. I’m giving only two stars for a couple of reasons. Foremost, the staff were terrible. I get that this is New York, but I expect better hospitality for the price I’m paying to stay here and my status as a Hyatt Elite. Not one staff member I’ve interacted with at this hotel has been pleasant to speak with. Another issue is that the thermostat is broken, often showing that the room temperature is anywhere from 120F to 372F (picture with proof below) so any attempt to use the system turns on the AC, even when set to the highest temp on the thermostat. I tried to call about this, but the phones in my room are broken too. I called the front desk from my cell phone about these issues and was again met with short responses. Also tried to have breakfast (Hyatt’s website lists it as Free Breakfast, that definitely isn’t the case), they’re only doing room service and the two small bowls shown cost a whopping $80 after tax and service charges. This is flat out ridiculous! Don’t list the breakfast as free on your website and then expect me to pay skyscraper prices for basic hotel food. Overall disappointed by my experience here. Hope you can help your staff treat your elites with a little more care, keep your rooms fixed, and be more transparent about food pricing and service options.

Honestly the best decision to stay here and I’m a globalist so I have high hopes. Hotel was very clean, the market provided great coffees and breakfast, front desk staff was helpful and very kind. Our room was excellent with the suite upgrade. The star of our stay was Amy our Housekeeper. She deserves high recognition. She was very meticulous, took care of our bear family, provided amenities and fresh towels and really made us feel like home. The location near Times Square put us in the center of the action too! I’ll definitely be back again soon. Thank you team Hyatt Centric TS!!

Our stay at Hyatt Centric in Times Square was a fantastic experience overall. The hotel has everything you need, conveniently situated in the heart of Times Square. The rooms were clean, although on the smaller side, they didn't detract from the overall positive impression. The staff provided great service, adding to the overall comfort of our stay. However, our excitement to try the rooftop bar on a Thursday night hit a snag. We headed up the elevator at 11:30, eager for a quick drink, only to find out they were already preparing for closing time at 12. Unfortunately, the elevator didn't allow us to reach the desired floor. A bit of a bummer, but it didn't overshadow the otherwise enjoyable stay at Hyatt Centric.

For a super busy tight space like Times Square, this hotel is luxuriously roomy. Last Times Square hotel I was in didn't have enough room to even roll a suitcase from one side of the bed to the other. Room itself is clean, modern, and has some nice art touches. Beds were large queens, covered in soft bedding and pillows. There was a decent view (pictured below). In room breakfast was solid and on time. This is definitely gonna be my spot the next time I'm staying in Times Square

This hotel exceeded my expectations. We rented 2 rooms for 3 nights each. Mom/ Dad and 6 kids. Each with 2 queens. The rooms were very spacious. The bathrooms were huge for NYC standards. Room was bright. Loved the huge windows. Super clean and modern. We splurged for a high floor rooms with a view and it did not disappoint. They only have 1 2 queen room per floor so unfortunately we were on different floors but we were well aware of that at time of booking. We checked out the rooftop bar one night and it was really cool. Unfortunately the outside/ deck was closed but once it’s opened again the views are incredible. Location in Times Sq was perfect. Would definitely recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a clean modern hotel in Times Sq.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Hyatt Centric Times Square - the staff were wonderful. We were celebrating two teen birthdays and an anniversary and they gave us a wonderful 53rd storey room, a card, balloons and anniversary petals. There was nothing the staff wouldn't do and the location is superb. If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs - the city below is noisy and constantly humming 😊

I can’t find anything negative to say if I tried. The front desk staff are so welcoming and kind. They even offered us a mask when they overheard our family talking that someone left theirs up in the room. The rooms were spot clean when we arrived and the daily cleanings were the same. Huge thanks to all the employees there who make this experience so wonderful. And location is perfect. Just feet from all the action in Times Square. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to friends! A+

Excellent hotel! I requested early check-in and the room was ready very early, like 10am instead of the standard 4pm check-in time. The check-in & out process was so easy online. The rooms are modern, luxurious, and super clean. The cleaning lady Amy was the absolute best. They always answer the phone quickly and answer any questions, you can even text them instead of calling. They have microwaves available upon request if you need one. The rooms are a good size compared to other hotels nearby. The location is great! The windows in the room can open a little, which is rare. Would definitely come back again, however do NOT go to the rooftop bar. I rated that separately.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days. Location was perfect as it is a 10 min walk from Times Square. Our room was a bit tiny but I guess that’s what you get in the centre of NY. We had breakfast included in the room rate which was served in the restaurant near the main lobby. They had a good selection of bagels, breads, fruits, yoghurts… overall it was a good experience

My husband I loved our 3-day stay here! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful, especially front desk associate Yenny and housekeeper Jenny G! It was my husband's birthday and a card with balloons was attached to our door - so sweet! The bed is ridiculously comfortable and the room itself is just fantastic. I can't recommend this hotel enough!

Great location near time square. Decent sized rooms, all very clean and tidy. Service went above and beyond. Tommy at the front desk made sure all our needs were in order and was extremely professional and friendly. 10/10 service from Tommy and the staff.

Staying at this hotel was a nice experience – they ensure it's cleaned daily. The proximity to Times Square, just a 1-minute walk away, is fantastic. Overall, a solid choice for convenience, especially if you prioritize cleanliness and easy access to Times Square.

Great morning, I figured I would go ahead and write my review as I approach check out time. I really did like this hotel, but I did experience a few hiccups… THE rooms need to be deep cleaned a little more.. I had hair in my shower… The people at the front desk (ladies) are RUDE RUDE… how do you expect me to be respectful to you, when you aren’t giving me respect? It doesn’t work like that… the guest service ladies who answers the phone lines (rude).. customer service etiquette class is needed BADLY. A Housekeeper called my room and said, hey we heard you went to your room and someone else was already there. I had no clue what this man was talking about and it had me questioning, if someone walked into my room when I wasn’t there (safety issue) Bed sheets were paper thin. Other than that, It was a great stay.

Great Stay in the Heart of Times Square! We stayed here for 5 nights over Thanksgiving week. The location was perfect, and the hotel had everything we needed- comfortable beds, a coffee maker in the room, a well-equipped gym, and an on-site cafe with breakfast items and sandwiches to go. The housekeeping service was excellent. Mercedes was in charge of our floor, and she took full ownership of making sure that we had everything we needed and servicing our room at a time that worked well for us. Last but not least, our room was surprisingly quiet given the location and noise of Times Square.

We just stayed at the Hyatt Centric the week before Christmas and it was delightful! The front desk people were very helpful and friendly. They took their time to answer any question I had. They were helpful getting taxi's as well. Every time we entered the front door to go up to our room we were greeted with a smile. The room was clean and the view was amazing. Absolutely no complaints. We will stay here again.

What a wonderful hotel to stay at! This is now our go to hotel in NYC! The staff there were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was very sleek and modern. The room was very nice. There were USB ports for phone charging, free water, it was super clean and quiet. It was easy check in. We were running late for a show and they even took my bag up to the room with no hesitation. I would definitely recommend staying at this location.

Perfectly good but nothing special. Stayed here because it was a part of a decent value (for New York) as part of a package deal. Best feature is the location, which you get the full advantage from booking or upgrading a high-floor room; we didn't despite being offered a discounted price. No complaints about our room, although nothing to write home about - it was clean, had enough room and had no outside noise. The ventilation/heating unit was rather noisy. Furthermore, it's a real shame that they charge so much at the end for 'destination fees' which feels like a licence for the hotel to essentially print money. They list some supposed "benefits" you get for the fee, however most are irrelevant.

We really enjoyed our 4 day/3 night stay here at the Hyatt Centric. It was my first time staying at a Hyatt and I was impressed with everything. The location is great, near time square without TS noise and lights (which I was on the fence about). The rooms are standard NYC sized rooms, it was perfect for two containing the necessities. We booked a king size bed, high floor city view, contained a closet and mini fridge, no microwave. FAVORITE part of all, bathroom had heated floors. Wow that took me by surprise! It added such a luxurious feel and bathroom was built beautifully. They also stored our bags with them which was a plus!!

The customer service is amazing. Check in was quick and easy. Friendly, professional staff. Excellent location. Clean, modern rooms. Will definitely stay here again during future visits. Also, make reservations at their rooftop bar, you will not regret it. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

I booked a room for three adults, but upon arrival, we were provided with a queen-size bed and a 4ft sofa bed, which is inadequate for an average-sized person. The sofa bed's mattress was only 2mm thick, and the only advice we received was to place it on the floor for sleeping. Considering the price paid and the booking made five months in advance, there was no assistance or alternative offered by the hotel staff, making the accommodation unsuitable for three people with luggage.

Booked a few days in advance. Wasn't too happy with the room that I had chosen. Called the hotel and Jorge made the situation much better. Our three day stay was awesome. Great views, great staff and walking distance to the majority of attractions. Would highly recommend this place!

Fantastic location, right in Times Square. Really helpful staff. Convenient market attached to the hotel. Guaranteed us joined rooms, as we have little kids, and it all worked out great. Recommend!

I had a great experience at this hotel. From the moment I approached the main entrance, I was kindly greeted by staff outside. The lobby smelled so fresh and clean, and and the staff at the front desk were warm and hospitable. My room was very clean, the decor was chic and the bed was so comfortable.. and the sheets smelled freshly washed! The bathroom was spotless and the shower was high end. I had such a great and comfortable stay here. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking to stay at a fantastic hotel in Times Square.

We stayed in the executive suite room 2001. From the moment we entered the front door we were greeted by several friendly employees. We checked in quickly and made our way to the room. This room was unlike anything I’ve ever stayed in when visiting New York City, the best I’ve ever stayed over the past 20 years. It’s super modern and updated, with tons of “extras” And top of the line items including various lighting options, a robe and slippers, a premium hairdryer, a fabulous rainwater shower, tons of toiletries, (including any toiletries you can imagine that you may have forgotten they provide you for free), Bottled waters, refrigerator, a Keurig, tons of closet and dresser space, Comfortable chairs and a couch, and the bed is so comfortable. The Floor to ceiling windows provided an amazing view. The pull curtains were very convenient to easily open during the day and to close during the evening. There were two different televisions and also two different temperature controls in each room which I really liked so if someone stayed in the other room there were pocket doors to separate the two rooms and each room could have its own temperature. The housekeeping staff went above and beyond and when you ask for extra towels you actually get a ton and not just one or two like normal hotels. Each day they offer a private view on the top floor of the outdoor rooftop bar where you can get a beautiful view of the city at 10:30 AM each day and a free photo keepsake. We ordered breakfast for room service and it arrived super fast and everything was packaged nicely in little containers and was delicious. The only thing I wished the room had was a microwave but this was the only thing missing and we ended up not needing one anyways. We will 100% be back and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a beautiful comfortable stay with friendly staff in the absolute perfect location. We were able to walk to Times Square and get to plenty of restaurants and shopping without having to take a subway or any other transportation. A+!!

An Exemplary Experience at Hyatt Centric Times Square Thanks to Elizabeth and Her Team I recently had the privilege of staying at the Hyatt Centric Times Square, and I can't express enough how wonderful my experience was, largely due to the incredible hospitality extended by Elizabeth, the hotel manager, and her fantastic team. Let me set the stage: I arrived a day earlier than my check-in date due to an international flight schedule. Typically, this could be a recipe for logistical hurdles and extra charges. However, Elizabeth turned what could have been an unfortunate situation into an incredibly positive experience. She honored my three-night rate, noting it was the 'right thing to do' when the rate for early check-in could have been considerably higher. She could have easily brushed aside my request; instead, she chose to honor it. This act alone has assured my loyalty to Hyatt Centric Times Square for all my future visits. Elizabeth exuded an approachable demeanor, and her customer-centric approach was evident in her every action. It wasn't just about fulfilling a requirement but about going above and beyond to ensure my comfort and satisfaction. She displayed excellent judgment, and even if things hadn't gone as they did, I am confident she would have done everything within her purview to assist me. It's clear that she understands the importance of being a good steward of the Hyatt brand, striking a balanced note between the needs of the hotel and its guests. As for the hotel itself, Hyatt Centric Times Square certainly lives up to its name. The rooms are generously sized by New York City standards, very clean, and most importantly, very comfortable. Beyond Elizabeth, every staff member I interacted with was exceptional— from the reservation desk to housekeeping and even the door people and security. Everyone was friendly welcoming, and went out of their way to be helpful, creating a remarkably pleasant and hospitable atmosphere. In a city that never sleeps, Hyatt Centric Times Square and its incredible team led by Elizabeth ensure that their guests sleep well and feel genuinely taken care of. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an exceptional stay in the heart of New York City. A virtual cheers to Elizabeth, the entire team, and Hyatt Centric, Torres

Great views and amazing service in the front desk. Bathrooms are very nice and luxurious. Definitely recommended. The only bad thing is that the rooftop is private and you can’t enjoy that area as a guest, you need to make a reservation in order to enter a place that should be an amenity. At least we should be able to go to the balcony without having to buy a cocktail from Bar 54! The hotel is already pricey and we still have to pay to go to the terrace 😔

  • 5/5 J. W. 1 year ago on Google
It's a great hotel. Very close to the Times Square. You literally have to walk only half a block and bang there's the happening. Though it's not noisy at night. When you walk the other way it becomes much quiter with a nice area (not far from where Radio City is located). It's a 20 minute walk to Central Park and a 20 minute walk to the water front (Intrepid Sea, Air and Space museum) the opposite way (approx). Staff is always friendly and very helpful.

Great hotel! Very professional. They made me feel like a celebrity lol. From the time I hopped on out of my Lyft they greeted me, opened my car door, grabbed my bags, carried them to the front desk. Just an overall wonderful experience. Great location, did not rent a car everything was within walking distance, the weather was perfect! The room was lovely with an awesome view. Very clean! I experienced one issue with the cleaning lady not placing my the toilet seat back on the toilet when she was done, but management made it right; I did not allow housekeeping to clean my room thereafter.

Great location! Times Square and centered around most everything you want to get to in New York City. Nice lobby, excellent front desk, housecleaning and room services. Asked for amenities and got them quickly. Had a standard King. Not spacious but functional. Nice view though. Bathroom is extremely cramped and strange that you have a full size window right next to the toilet. Never seen that before. Kind of weird. Really nice rain shower. The light switches are kind of strange in the room. We never got a handle on them but there's a control all switch button next to the bed. The entire electronic setup in the room needs a modern update. Only one USB charger on the desk. Very early 2000s technology. All in all, nice hotel. I'm a big fan of Hyatt. Except for some quirks around the room needing modernization I recommend staying here if you're going to be in new york.

Great stay at the Hyatt Centric - clean and spacious (not the typical cramped NY hotel room) and easy access to EVERYTHING but especially close to Times Square, Radio City and Rockefeller Center, among others. Highly recommend this spot - side note - you’d be foolish to not take advantage of all the great mom and pop restaurants and great bars in the area. It’s easy to fall into the tourist traps nearby - keep an open mind and you’ll be able to truly immerse yourself in what the city has to offer.

Stayed at the hotel for 4 nights in May 2022. We where in room 5205 and it was a fabulous room. Spacious, extremely clean and tidy. Fresh towels, coffee for the machine and bed changed and made every day. The hotel is steps from TS and within easy reach of plenty of restaurants, shops and attractions. The hotel staff where helpful and friendly. Bar 54 is a must visit. We where lucky enough to visit on a clear sunny day - spectacular views from the rooftop terrace. If we where to visit NYC again we would stay here and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel to friends. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Staff were very friendly, we enjoyed the 54 roof top bar on our last night. We stayed in room 2007, the view was very disappointing. No view of Times Square or New York 😞 we had requested a room on a high floor and was on level 20 out of 50+ No restaurant for breakfast / dinner at the hotel so we went out each morning. I understand room service is available but isn’t the same, eating in the bedroom. Great location to see the sights and do some shopping.

Great Times Square location. Very friendly and helpful staff... Everyone who works there is fantastic. The rooms are clean, modern and much larger than you expect for TS! Rooftop bar is spectacular. Will definitely stay here again.

Hotel well situated in the middle of time square. The rooms are decent compared to NYC size. The breakfast is in the room ordered by the QR code but was good and on time. Covid changed a lot the logistics but as a frequent traveler would stay again but beware of pricing as it can get crazy but is all based on demand and that cannot be controlled. We were not able to go to the rooftop bar but will go next time. Also the rooftop bar is great for either a chilled time or romantic.

The team at this hotel is fantastic! They were so welcoming during my late check-in (after midnight). The next day I had placed the do not disturb sign on the door to skip housekeeping service, and the manager called me to ask if they could replenish anything in the room. Within minutes, a kind housekeeper delivered water bottles to my room. This hotel provided excellent service, was very clean, and of course the location is perfect in Times Square. Thank you for a great stay!

You can't beat the location - it is central to everything. The rooms were a bit dated and not the cleanest. It's definitely a no frills hotel where you are really paying for the location. My family and I enjoyed a 3 night stay and we were very happy that we could see Time Square from our room. We also walked to Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Time Square and Radio City Music Hall with ease. Lots of fun restaurants and bars also within walking distance. Valette service was very nice and friendly. Front desk staff wasn't very welcoming and found every reason to tack on charges to our stay.

RECOMMENDED HOTEL! We stayed in room 4802, and the view is amazing. In-Room Facilities are great; the toilet is what I like the most. The front desk staff are all friendly and helpful. You must visit the rooftop bar. It is the highest rooftop bar in NYC. Times Square is very close. Would love to stay here again if I visit NY.

Great service! The staff is very polite! The room is very comfortable, NOT noisy, the view is wonderful! (Thanks for saving our vacation. We stayed at another hotel first and it was just terrible, so we requested a refund and moved here) I highly recommend this hotel to everyone!

When determining where to stay for a friend's birthday (that was close to the Winter Garden Theater to see Music Man) we looked at amenities: drinks, coffee, close to Times Square... Although Bar54 bartenders were magical, good luck getting in! Saturday at 5pm-ish we stopped on the way to the room to get a drink (to enjoy while we got ready in the room). The front bar was "closed," the back bar "could only make drinks if you had reservations," but "there were no reservations available." The back bar would've poured 2 glasses of wine, got a generous tip based on the prices and not impacted those "with reservations." The room (nor lobby) has no coffee - although most other places do provide it now days. Don't tell me to get room service, I want HOT coffee. The bed has ONLY a fitted sheet and quilt! Seemed like the place was pretty full. Hyatt is lucky for the location (and bartenders at Bar54).

Nice hotel just next to Times Square. Great location and nice rooms, including a rooftop bar with a lovely view. But be aware of the destination fee. We stayed 11 nights and had to pay 400(!!) dollars. We did know that there would be some type of fee, but not that it would be for all nights that we stayed and not something you could pay voluntarily. What a shock on our day of arrival when we were already paying a lot for a long stay. It did include some discounts for various things, but it wasn't anything we would gladly pay for.
