This hotel was absolutely horrible. We had a 5 day reservation and left after the first day. The hotel has a small courtyard area with benches in the front that you have to walk through to enter the building. There were people homeless druggies/drunks passed out on the benches and laying all over the ground. Should have just left at that point. The lady at the front desk wasn't friendly and rude the other workers. Must plan for the elevators!! There were only 2 elevators at the hotel and always had a line. Half the time, one of the elevators was taken by maintenance/cleaning crews. Account for 15+ minutes every time you want to use the elevator. The room was very small, and outdated. Furniture was worn and the beds were lumpy. The bathroom had no soap, hair in the tub, and little to none water pressure. My 7 year old, who is excited to just stay in any hotel was asking to go somewhere else. We checked in in the afternoon and went to explore the city. When we came back around 10pm the courtyard was even worse. There were more people passed out, one with his pants down in the bushes. I did not feel it was safe to have my girlfriend and kid anywhere near that. We checked out first thing in the morning. I am an IHG Diamond Elite (Spire previously since 2015) member and this was probably one of the worst IHG property I have stayed at.

We stayed as a family of 4 for six nights Check inn smooth easy and quick , staff extremely friendly. It was my partners birthday and balloons were laid out in the bed really nice touch. Room as per NYC small but very clean and nice bathroom, beds were great and no problems sleeping We had the breakfast package well worth the money and would differently recommend lifts yes you have to wait but not that long no big deal just chill your in the Big Apple Yes homeless outside but never had an issues and there are homeless everywhere A few steps to the subway, 7 eleven right next door for snacks and drinks cheaper than other convenience stores Plenty of bars close by and excellent location to explore, far enough away from Times Square but you can walk there in minutes If you want a central location with clean rooms this is a good choice, having stayed in NYC six times this is one of the best

We stayed in this hotel for three nights. The rooms are really small with a sliding door beside the bed that leads to the washroom. This door doesn't even lock. The room has a tiny cupboard that is filled by only two jackets. This room looks spacious only in pictures posted online by the property. But one can still adjust in a small room if the staff is welcoming. The staff on this property are a piece of work. There was a lady at the front desk who made us feel as if they are doing us a favour by letting us stay at their hotel. She really needs some behavioral lessons and needs to learn etiquettes. We had issues with the housekeeping cart (which had cleaning mop and supplies in it) being placed in front of our room every night. The corridor was narrow. So the cart was right in front of your face when you got food or just came out of the room. That was frustrating to say the least. When we complained about why the housekeeping cart is in front of our room she was rude and started misbehaving. She directly asked us to leave the hotel if we have issues as if she was giving the room for free. We had paid full amount for 3 nights and it was nonrefundable. Otherwise we wouldn't have spent a moment in this hotel. Even after complaining they were adamant and in fact made sure the housekeeping cart was in front of our room every Night. We were so angry and frustrated by this constant mental harassment. The lobby is not clean, the lift is very slow. But this behaviour is the worst part of the hotel. I have stayed in other hotels in New York earlier but have never faced such insensitive and rude behaviour from my hotel staff. Toiletries were tiny and never replaced. No hairdryer. I would come back to washrooms not cleaned and room not vacuumed. When we complained she almost threatened that we would not get good service (as if she was giving good service till now.🙄 ) we did not feel safe with how they treated us. I would strongly advise against booking rooms in this hotel. It's better to avoid this hotel since the last thing you want is such mean behaviour when you are on a holiday. The hospitality business works on good behavior and reputation primarily and this hotel does not follow any such principles at all.

The location is excellent - close to the subway, near Times Square, but far enough away you don't find yourself fighting crowds to get in and out of the hotel. Our room was incredibly clean and comfortable. Small - but that's to be expected in Manhattan. There was abundant counter space in the bathroom which I loved! I don't think paying for a "city view" was worth the cost. All staff we encountered were delightful and incredibly helpful. There were always people hanging out outside the entrance who didn't seem to belong at the hotel, which I didn't love, but I appreciated that you could only access the hotel after certain times with a keycard. The elevator also required a keycard in order to go up, and I appreciated that safety feature as well. There are a LOT of floors (I forget how many, we were on the 19th floor) and only two elevators, so sometimes the wait for an elevator was a little longer than I'd generally prefer. Overall would choose to stay here again!

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The 2 double-bed room is a decent size for NY. It is highly secure, you can't get to any floor without your card. It is in a great location to the Subway, Times Square, and a Parking Garage just around the corner. The courtyard is a resting ground for the homeless, but I never once felt unsafe. In a large city like NYC this is normal. I stayed at an Intercontinental in LA and it's very similar. We are Platinum Elite members and would definitely stay here again.

First the good: People were great, bed was clean, bathroom was recently upgraded, some of the furnishings were updated. What could be improved: Shower water temperature was cool to tolerable warm, carpet was beat, AC unit in bad shape, the desk table looked dirty but the surface was just beyond cleanable. Neighborhood was safe enough, but a number of weed stores set up shop in the area which brings the foot traffic that comes with them. Price was lower than others for the night so I feel I got the value that I paid for. Will skip this hotel next time I'm looking for a place.

This is the smallest hotel room I've ever seen, but it was nice and it was clean. It served the purpose! The bathroom was weird. There's no exhaust fan, the door doesn't lock, and it doesn't even close right. It's a slider, it's weird. The elevators are comical. Plan 10 minutes extra just to get an elevator, because there are only two and they are slow and busy. If you want to stay in the Times Square area the hotel is perfect location-wise. It's nice, clean, the staff was friendly, and it's a decent price. There's plenty to see and do within walking distance, including restaurants, and a great pastry cart outside each morning. There are vagrants that sleep out front on the benches, but they don't bother anyone. It wasn't a bad stay here at all.

Without a doubt, my stay at this hotel was absolutely amazing, I highly recommend it! From the moment I walked in I was greeted with impeccable service and a truly sophisticated atmosphere. The room was spacious, elegantly decorated and offered stunning views of the city that never sleeps. The staff were always ready to attend to any need, making my stay truly memorable. Simply stunning hotel facilities provided me with exceptional experiences. The hotel's central location also made it easy to explore the city. In summary, my stay was a world-class experience that I would heartily recommend to anyone seeking the ultimate in hospitality and comfort.

Pros 1) Great location 2) Somehow managed to get a good price for our 6 day stay 3)There is a 7-11 right below the hotel 4)Hotel staff was pretty polite and friendly 5) Nice Manhattan view from our hotel room Cons 1) This hotel has some of the smallest rooms that I have seen in my entire life. One will surely find a dearth for place. 2) Only two elevators for a 36 story building. Be prepared for some long waits specially during the afternoon and evening hours. 3)Right outside the hotel there are benches on which there are drunk and homeless people seated at all times. Will return to this hotel whenever I plan my next trip to NY. Overall it was a pleasant stay.

This hotel has SO many great features for the price: nice workout room, free luggage check after check-out, fridges in the room, free newspaper. The location was terrific: 2 blocks from bus terminal or 5 blocks from Penn Station, plus very near Times Square and Theatre District. The hotel desk was exceptionally friendly. Once when the clerk knew I wanted coffee pods for the following morning, she stopped me the night before to give me her last ones. I came back to NYC three weeks later, and was very disappointed they were full, as it’s now my top choice in NYC for my family.

We stayed for 5 nights in September and had a great experience. The staff was amazing. The rooms and facilities were very clean and well kept. Walking distance to all the theaters, Times Square, the NYC Public Library and easy subway access. I'm normally not good sleeping on a different mattress but slept well (the extra 5 miles a day walking might have helped☺️) We will stay there again!

Really well placed for a holiday to New York. The rooms where clean but basic although there was an iron/ironing board, hairdryer and free safe. Toiletries were in very small bottles so i'd take your own or you'd be asking for more every day. We went for a week so storage for clothes was very limited we had to leave some clothes/shoes in our case but i wouldn't let this put you off. There is luggage storage for your last day if needed. Reception staff where helpful if needed. Just up from the hotel is a bus terminal were you can get a yellow cab to the airport if you haven't got one booked. We didn't find a problem with people hanging about outside as previously mentioned. The pizza shop across road is really nice and you can buy a slice rather than a whole one. So I'd recommend this hotel and a big bonus for us was no extra tax's/fees when we checked out like you get at some hotels.

Amazing hotel, pricey but the location is amazing. I love they have available 4 pillows for a king-size bed, 2 soft ones, and 2 firm. Only two elevators but they make their guest aware of that on each floor.

The room was very small, and the view was of a brick wall. But everything was clean, and the staff was great. We were able to get early check in ,and late checkout. We were also within walking distance of Times Square and Rockefeller Center.

Very small rooms and yes I've traveled in Europe hotels also. Housekeeping was inconsistent on leaving bath mat towels etc. The rooms away from 8th Ave ARE quiet with the special windows. Breakfast isn't worth the stop. The very friendly staff at front desk was much appreciated. However when they gave the wrong price by $10 for the hotel taxi to the airport it left bad taste. The many folks hanging out at park at entrance of hotel weren't scary but a Hilton within one block had many fewer folks in their front park. Lastly, when I found the emergency exit door locked in the lobby I was scared. Yes the elevators are very slow. It's obvious there's a capacity issue but their solution is to post signs saying to avoid the elevators for up to 5? hours during rush times.

Bed was definitely very firm. The courtyard in front of hotel is always filled with people smoking. We waited 25 mins for the elevator to get to lobby. Good price though for location.

We had a good stay here. The rooms are clean especially the bathroom. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The location is great because it is close and walkable to the subway station and many tourist attractions. There are some people always on the street outside the hotel but the presence of police nearby makes you feel safe. There are lot of coffee shops and food joints nearby as well

Really good location, very near to the Times Square. We need to rush for the parking to check in, as there was little room to park the car on the busy street. Park near bike line until check in process, then get your luggage by yourself. We had very good customer service and got quick checkin completed, we requested to city view with top floor. Quickly he agreed and gave us 22nd floor. Note: rooms are little compact as shown I. Picture. We felt it’s a great deal if I have to book 3 days before travel and close to top landmark Times Square. Another observation saw few homeless sitting at the main entrance -standby passenger car seating area . Breakfast was the bonus.

Location was great if you want to get to Time Square or Herald's Square The room was really small but that's NYC. The staff was extremely accomodating and courteous. Big thanks to Mark and Rocky for their customer service. They made this stay so much better! For the price and location and customer service, I wouldn't hesitate to go back and stay there again.

I was torn on how to review this place. I'll be as honest as possible; starting with the worst part. The elevator situation is horrific. I saw people complain in past reviews and while some may be exaggerated it is definitely very very bad. There are over 30 floors and only 2 small elevators. They actually recommend times to go out on a small sticker. It says the best time to go is "8pm to 8am"....hahaha. why even put that? Let that sink in. They are aware and they have a copy and paste response to these reviews, but reality is nothing will be done about this. Standing in a small hallway with another family waiting 25 minutes for an elevator is common. The elevator will stop at EVERY floor and you will be packed with other people once you finally get on. We decided to take the stairs down once. As you pass the floors you can see the waiting area for each floor. EVERY SINGLE FLOOR HAD PEOPLE WAITING. The rooms are clean. The employees are cordial. We didn't have hot water one morning (seems common here) and the employees were so friendly about it. You could hear the concern in their tone as opposed to being tired of hearing it; even though they likely got tons of calls. The lobby is small but always has security. There is a small courtyard area but it's filled with beggars and amateur rapper/musicians "practicing " loudly. Some singing anti-police lyrics as loud as possible. It's too bad they cannot clean up that mess, but it's a D-city which is common in those cities. Can't blame the hotel for the state of midtown now. It has gotten much worse than even 10 years ago. Overall it's a decent place which I'd easily give it a C+; however, the elevator situation alone makes me say "never again will I stay here, not worth it". So that drops it to a D grade for me, thus the 2 stars. If you get a low floor it would be bearable.

We stayed here for a week last month. Great location, just a couple of minutes walk to the Times square. The service was really good. The rooms were small and congested, just enough to walk between the two beds. We were given the 28th floor and the view was really good from there.

Hotel overall was okay its not the best and its not horrible. Location wise it was in a great area close to Times Square and Bryant Park. Great food options and very diverse so you're bound to find something for everyone. The only downsides were the rooms were extremely small. Stayed in a room with 4 adults and 4 suitcases and it was a very tight squeeze. Barely had any room to move around let alone actually open our suitcases without placing them on the bed each time. Bathroom was a decent size and shower was a good size as well. Housekeeping did well in coming by and tiding up the room every day and were very friendly. Last day we were here one of the elevators stopped working and it was horrendous trying to get down to the lobby from the top floors. Took almost an hour to get down and the elevator kept stopping at every floor with people being more and more upset that they couldn't get in to go down. Even when they were both working it was awful trying to get down any time of the day. They are extremely small and no where near the size they should be for the amount of floors in this hotel. Also did not enjoy having to avoid all the beggers/addicts in the front of the hotel. It was nice that they had security in the lobby but I would rather not see people shooting up right outside where I'm staying. Hated going out after the sun went down because it seemed like there were always more people out there and didn't always feel the safest going out there. Most of them seemed harmless but I did encounter a few people on the street that were aggressive and yelling at people passing by. I understand that the area is open to the public but even if there was a cop or security outside keeping an eye out maybe it would have made me feel better about the hotel. Overall the hotel is okay if you're not too picky but I don't think I would recommend it or stay here again honestly. There seems to be better hotels near by.

Very clean hotel with a nice lobby and great staff!! Had water issues that were remedied that day! Staff was very apologetic and we even received a complimentary late check out! Room was smallish, but was a great NY feel, and the view from the 33rd was exquisite! Yeah, there were quite a few homeless hanging out out front, but in 6 days we weren’t bothered once! They need somewhere to sit as well!! All in all, I would recommend and stay here again

Was here on vacay. The hotel was very clean and the staff was wonderful. The rooms were very small but the price was reasonable. Their restaurant and bar was closed at the time of this post. 10 minute walk to Times Square. And some homeless people(Less fortunate)hanging around outside, which didn't bother me personally. They did not bother me at all. Lobby has security guards on site. Need a key card to enter building and elevators after hours. I Would recommend this hotel if you're a couple with no kids and out to explore.

We stayed for 2 nights right before Christmas. We used our Chase Free Night certs so I can't complain about the price. It was a convenient location near 2 different subway lines and an easy walk to Times Square. There is also a 7-11 right next door to pick up drinks or snacks to keep in your room. (a guy standing outside that 7-11 asked if I wanted to buy weed even though there was an NYPD truck parked right in front 24/7) The rooms are small but it's NYC and unless you want to pay out the nose, that's what you are going to get. Myself, my husband and 13 year old son were comfortable enough and we did not spend much time in the room anyway. The only downside is the horrible elevator situation. We were on the 28th floor and the wait was sometimes very long. Especially in the morning. And usually we would end up on a "Local", stopping on every floor. The view was nice on the higher floor but if you want convenient in and out access, maybe request a room on a lower floor that you are comfortable taking the stairs.

It was great to stay there! Had a horrible experience at ROW NYC. The staff at Holiday inn was amazing. The room was cozy for 2 people. Eventhough there was no microwave, it was on the 1st floor. Bathroom was a nice size. It was a great stay and the location was excellent ! Security was excellent!

The staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and cozy! Would definitely recommend for those wanting to be close to time square. It is located close to all the fun! They let us check in several hours early and let us stay several hours after check out...very helpful

Conveniently close to Time Square and Subways! Covid procedures are enforced. Elevators can get busy depending on the time you check in and check out. Welcome to NY!! My family enjoyed our stay!! The room, the view made us very happy! Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Kudos to Mark, a gentleman and professional he is!! I highly recommend this location. Book it now!

I love the location of this hotel. It is close to everything around times square. The girl at the front was so sweet with me, and so friendly. I loved it... I also got the 33 floor, which gave me a great view. The room was good and clean, it as a good visit for me, generally speaking. 5 stars

This hotel was great! We were suppose to check in at 3pm but they let us check in super early because we didn’t walk to carry our luggage around hour a few hours. The Staff were super nice and very friendly with any questions. There’s a NYPD bus outside of the hotel, which made it feel safer. There’s a security guy helping direct you into the elevator or to get more towels, toilet paper, or anything you need. Our flight ended up canceling so the hotel let us stay in our rooms a few extra hours until we got everything figured out. This hotel was just great for a good budge place to stay. The room was really nice and clean! We had no problems at all with the room or hotel itself. I would recommend it to anyone

This hotel was amazing. The staff was super nice and it was a clean hotel. Mark was constantly asking if we needed anything and how are trip was going. Raj was very sweet as well. Rocky suggested a car service the hotel offers from the hotel to the airport and we are so glad we did that. Very nice recommendation. Over all the staff was wonderful and by far the best service we have had staying in a hotel. I will definitely be recommending this hotel.

Excellent hotel location. Stayed there for three days with my brother for the New York Comic Con. Staff was pleasant, rooms were well organized and neat, almost had everything we need for our stay. Highly recommend for anyone who plans their visit to the Big Apple.

Absolutely loved our stay!! Special thanks to Rocky who helped us with our room. The view of the Empire State Building was beautiful!! The room was small but efficient. Very clean. You’re in Time Square so of course there’s homeless all around. The access to the subway & taxis were convenient & you’re surrounded by great food especially Gallager’s Steak House. Thank you Holiday Inn Time Square!! We’re telling everybody about you!! Ask for Rocky.
