I decided to make a quick trip to New York with my family and my husband this weekend, only for two nights. After reading the reviews of this location, I selected the Park lane hotel as my place of stay, because they all were 5 stars experiences. I saw the pictures and I loved it. Well.. I just got to my room and my experience so far is not good. First, I requested a Central Park view, and there was no room available. I said fine, maybe next time. You can see for yourself on the pictures I am about to post as I walked to my room. The rooms and hallways are dark, like really old looking. Dark Stains all over the place.. on the carpet, on the curtains, on the walls; nails on one of the chairs in the room. And a demolished building as your view on the opposite side of the building. This is not good at all for 147 dollars a night hotel. Very disappointed. Completely horrible

I stayed here twice so far over the years and one of them was during their construction. Best thing about this hotel is the panoramic view of Central Park you can get from the higher floors. I caught a memorable rare moment on 9/11 while in town from my room window that I won’t forget. As I mentioned, location is great and staff is wonderful. Room was spacious, bedding was good. Amenities were decent and they have a nice small gym. I didn’t get to try their hotel bar, rose lane and rooftop signature restaurant and bar “Darling” as I already had reservations planned for my whole stay. Definitely will consider in my future visits and highly recommend if you are looking for a fantastic Central Park view.

Front rooms with a spectacular view! No other option is worth it to book the hotel. The other rooms are nice but really too expensive without the breathtaking Central Park view. Very fresh and modern cosy look. Some rooms have very, very small closets and bathrooms. ...🤨. The rooftop bar/restaurant is stylish but with quite too noisy hip music... talk with your friends while you are sipping the good cocktails is difficult. The wonderful view is only visible for tall or non sitting persons. So, if you reserve a table because of the view....take a bar table outside. Breakfast is not yet good enough for the price (50$pp plus tax plus tip)...and while sitting at a table, you have no view because the windows are to high...All employees are very friendly! Special thanks to the wonderful Lady serving breakfast at the rooftop and to deep-voice-Dillon from the bar team at the ground floor 😉! ADA Rooms are good, but the entrance door is really, really heavy to open. Once, when you are inside, there is an automatic door to the bathroom. Why not add that helper for the front door?

The view was incredible if you're lucky enough to have a floor high enough. Great location too. Unfortunately, we did experience some issues with the service, the glasses in our room had been used and not replaced from the previous guests. This is unacceptable in normal circumstances never mind during the pandemic. Our bags were to be brought to our room at check in. This was not the case, we had to call reception twice and wait an hour to receive our bags. We also experienced staff arguing over tips we had just handed them.

The hotel experience of my dreams! When I imagined myself in New York I could see the perfect view of Central Park and knew that this would be the hotel that I would find it. Everything about our stay was perfect, we felt like VIPs and couldn’t have had a better stay if we tried. We were upgraded to a Panoramic Park View room on the 41st floor thanks to our hotel membership with I Prefer Hotels and it was everything I have ever dreamed of. When we stepped in the room I shed a tear, what a stunning location and beautiful hotel. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. From the moment we stepped in the door we were taken care of and it was such an amazing experience. The room was clean, very big and featured the perfect large window with two comfy pink chairs to sit and enjoy the view. What more do you need than that! Breakfast was a delight and the hilarious and attentive staff made the experience even better. I wish I could remember the lovely lady’s name at the rooftop, Betty maybe? She was a comedian and such a happy face! So attentive and I could tell she cared about what she did and that means the world. I would go back just for her! All around an amazing hotel, experience and the perfect place for our anniversary. I would go back in a heartbeat!

Great experience and location right across from Central Park. It's prime real estate for sure. The beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was okay especially for the price of the rooms on weekends. Those were bathtub in the room prices! I loved the birds chirping tv thing but that's up with that little stool? Is someone working at the desk on that stool? Actually is anyone even fit on that? If I owned the place I would upgrade all the carpets in the entire hotel but especially in all the rooms. It's really time! The vibe is a little weird in the lobby. I thought it was me but I asked my friends and she said the same. It's like it's trying to hard to be something it's not. Now that I'm thinking harder about it, no one answers the phones when you call to the lobby. You have to call several times. That was stage to me. I also had to go into the hotel to get help with valet?

The view and location helps this place . Check in and out was a nightmare . I have and stil going charges on my card from what I have no idea . No help with bags I had a limo out front and workers watched me take my bags to the car . I feel theor short staff , they are being paid to help customers and standing around looking for extra tips ! Work and maybe you will receive more. New years firework 🎆 n the garden view was nice . Pillows to soft, dirty carpets need outside window cleaning to see a better clear beauty view .their restaurant on the second floor, took an hour to come to the table, which was just appetizer and a burger. The bar over charge a glass of champagne charged twice for one wouldn’t go back there so many beautiful other properties on the same street.. My New years wasn’t extra nice for the money spent …

Enjoyed the stay here. Good location across from central park. The lobby is tastefully designed. The hallways could be renovated. The rooms are big, but otherwise nothing special. For the price the hallways or at least the rooms should be redone. Nice views from the rooms of park or city.

Fabulous! Hotel was so clean and the staff was delightful. The view from our room was amazing while overlooking Central Park. Hotel was close to so many things, but not too close a lot of noise. It was perfect.

I expected more for this price if I'm honest. I understand the price is mostly due to the location but the carpet is really dreadful and the bathroom has nothing in it other than soap and shampoo. Downstairs is busy and noisy and they add music on top of it. The rooms are spacious and the bed is comfortable. No noises issues. The breakfast view is however unbeatable, overlooking the Park.

Absolutely Amazing Time staying at the Park Lane Hotel. We loved everything about it. Location, Cleanliness, and stunning views of central park and the city. The rooftop breakfast for only staying guests was the highlight of our trip. So amazing. We will return soon !!

Pros: location, Central Park across the street, walking distance to Metropolitan Museum, Lincoln Center, and Time Square. Friendly check in, valet, doormen, cleaning staff. Completely remodeled bathroom, fresh and modern. Cons: dated bedroom decor and carpet, limited hotel amenities, rooftop breakfast buffet $75 per person, and destination fee $49 per day. Considering the high costs in Manhattan, I think it’s still reasonable.

I had the most marvelous panoramic park view! It was like looking down at the Earth from heaven. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel and double queen is beautiful- with a spectacular, artistic theme. The environment at night is ebullient! I am highly satisfied with my stay. I definitely recommend.🥰

Great place right at the park. I loved my king suite with park view, but wished the hotel equipped all suites with a mini fridge, coffee maker, microwave. There was a kitchen counter with a sink so these amenities would have fit well. Considering the price per night, these are basic amenities that would make the stay more comfortable especially for families. I’ve stayed at other hotel suites in Manhattan and these were provided for. The front desk and door men were friendly and helpful.

Its been 4 years since I last visited New York. This why I was looking for a hotel where I can truly feel the city. There was no better choice than a place with a spectacular view of the Park My stay was really amazing. Here are a couple of points: Check in process was fast. Is this something important? Definitely it is. I have been to a couple of hotels where the check in process takes for ever. Here at the Park Lane hotel, it went fast and smooth. Elevators: Frequent visitors of New York may understand why I list elevators as one of the criteria to rate a hotel. At times, the wait for hotels could really be frustrating. Not in this hotel. Dining: I tried the breakfast at the 46th floor roof top Darling bar. The views are magnificent and the service was great. Food quality is average but the staff put extra efforts to make you enjoy your food and drinks The room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. One improvement needed would be upgrading the blackouts curtains to be auto operated instead of manually Overall, I really enjoyed my stay and this will definitely be my place of choice for future visits to NYC

This was one of the best hotel experiences my wife and I have ever had. We were celebrating our ten year anniversary and the staff went above and beyond to ensure our anniversary trip was a wonderful one. We had an amazing view of Central Park on a high floor that left us literally sitting in front of the window gazing and enjoying the beauty of the park. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone, but especially those celebrating a special occasion. The staff was excellent, the amenities were excellent, and the rooftop restaurant (Darling) had amazing views of Central Park. It was a really magical stay for us.

10/10 would recommend a stay at the Park Lane! The staff have been so courteous and hospitable. We were upgraded upon arrival, the room amenities are wonderful. The bartender made a great cocktail and mocktail and the menu is wonderful.

My stay at Park Lane Hotel in New York was nothing short of perfect. The room size exceeded my expectations, providing ample space for relaxation. The highlight, undoubtedly, was the breathtaking view of Central Park from my room. Waking up to such a stunning vista was truly unforgettable. The hotel’s location is ideal, offering easy access to the city’s attractions. The staff was courteous and attentive, ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I highly recommend Park Lane Hotel to anyone seeking a memorable experience in New York City.

We had a wonderful stay at the Park Lane Hotel. It all started with a very friendly welcome. The staff was very courteous. Due to a special celebration, the hotel prepared us a bottle of sparkling wine with chocolate strawberries as a gift. The view of Central Park from the room was just incredible. We also visited the Darling Restaurant on the 46th floor. Both the breakfast buffet and in the evening for a cocktail was super nice. The view is great. The hotel is very well located to reach Central Park, museums, 5th avenue and co. With the nearby subway you can also quickly reach the rest of Manhattan. We had a great experience, thanks to the whole Park Lane Hotel staff who really did a great job. For a special occasion this hotel is definitely a recommendation.

This hotel is amazing! I honestly cannot explain what an excellent service was received. I had a medical emergency and the gentleman at the bar on the main level, I wish I could remember his name but he immediately without hesitation assisted me and it was just great. Thank you so much for your great service.

The view is spectacular!!! Hotel is not brand new, so no mega large windows, but still nice room and very friendly service. Great location, right next to subway. Perfect hub for city exploration in any direction. Moring run in Central Park was superb! Fair pricing, so booking is definitely recommendable!

Def not best hotel I’ve been to but the location was convenient. The robes r short too 😭😭 I gotta be a dwarf for it to fit good. Staff nice. Still a cute lil hotel. Room service lady is nice. And honestly the good things about this hotel make up for the not so good things. 😜

It's pretty perfect as New York hotels go... Location, location, location near some of the best restaurants right across the street from Central Park right near the best shopping. Everything just steps from the door. The room was ordinary size...not small....not large... bathroom was nicely appointed...bed was comfortable. Lobby bar had great coffee and breakfast options.

We had a lovely stay, not without its hitches, but the staff was quick to rectify our AC situation by moving us quickly and courteously. One staff member, in particular, will have us making this hotel our home base in NYC for the foreseeable future. The concierge Carlos. Always gracious, helpful and just made the stay everything we hoped it would be. Real New York, from a real New Yorker.

The best part about this hotel is its location being south of Central Park and close to 5th Avenue, and with that the view of Central Park. That was spectacular There was a great anticipation leading up to our stay as we got the park view room for our 4 nights stay, and the reservation team was very helpful with changes of our reservation. However, our first night was a little rocky. We came to a room with a malfunction thermostat, so the room was overheating. Had someone from engineer that came to manipulate the heater, but eventually, was given a portable heater for the night. The next morning, the floor around the heater was soaked with likely leakage from the heater. Went to speak to the duty manager - Ryan; was very apologetic and was given a different room. We were very appreciative of that The housekeeping was very flaky, towels were replaced inconsistently in our room. For the price per room, it doesn’t come with toilet amenities except for towels and toiletries, no coffee or tea in room or common area. The hotel guest lifts were shared with Public guests that were trying to access the rooftop restaurant, which was very inconvenient and less private. In conclusion, probably one of the cheaper option hotel with CP view, but we are unlikely to return.

Great place to stay. Staff are helpful and welcoming. The Darling restaurant on top of the building has a great breakfast continental style with vodka/champagne included. If you have capital one venture x the hotel is a member of the premier collection and you get that breakfast daily for free ($75/per person value!). Highly recommend this place. Our view of the park from the 27th floor was incredible!!! 🤩

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this hotel. The rooms are big, compared to other midtown options. The iconic Harry's bar is quiet and intimate and feels like a secret hideaway amidst the hustle and bustle. Great location for travelers going uptown or downtown, Eastside or West. Oh, and the VIEW. Besides being able to step out the door and walk directly into Central Park, you can request a room with a view. We spent several morning just admiring the unreal vista.

I've stayed at Park Lane twice. Loved it. Wonderful location on Central Park South. The manager who checked me in upgraded me to a high floor with a Park view. She was delightful. Not sure if they still have the Manager's complimentary cocktail hour gathering for guests? A nice touch. Lots of nice canapés etc.

This was our 4th trip to nyc and we have found the only place to stay !! From the time we arrived till the time we left it was amazing. First the staff is professional, extremely attentive and accommodating, I have to mention 2 individuals Mauhna and Adriana. These ladies where fabulous , second our room ( overlooking Central Park) was spectacular. I highly recommend to anyone this is a must place to stay

Would highly recommend the Park Lane hotel due to it's great, friendly staff and newly updated and comfortable rooms in a great location just off Central Park. Hotel is an easy walk to CP, Shopping, and Broadway. There are also great restaurants within the same block.

Nice place, great location. Only 2 elevators appeared to be working, out of 6. No gym, bar was eh, undergoing some renovations and apparent upgrades so hopefully that gives it a facelift.

Stayed here on a trip with some family! The service was UNBEATABLE, and the amenities were very nice. The location is PERFECT. We had an amazing view of Central Park everyday we woke up. We walked down to the lobby for a coffee and were greeted by the doorman. Great job at an even greater facility!

Lovely hotel. Was so welcoming to my young son for a special mommy trip and very accommodating. Service was top notch which I didn’t expect given our current state of staffing shortages everywhere and based on experiences elsewhere. Rooms were very quiet and impeccably clean. There is also a great cafe just steps outside the back door which was a nice bonus.

First time at the Park Lane Hotel and will not be the last. An upscale hotel doing just about everything on-point. Check in and check out was smooth. Everyone my family and I encountered was super friendly and professional. In fact, all the bellmen/front desk/ staff were genuinely nice. We stayed in a Panaramic Park view room and all i can say is, Wow! Gorgeous accommodation with a spectacular views of Central Park. My family and I, including our two children, would 100% stay here again.

The staff were very nice but I felt that the hotel lacked basic services like a coffee maker in the room and very sparse menu options at restaurants. Additionally, the resort charge per night is ridiculous as well as the $10 I was charged for tap water at the restaurant.

Definitely pay up for a room above the 25th floor for amazing view of Central Park. Watch the sunrise and the sundown! Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Tons of cabs nearby to get to airport. Amazing location right on the park, literally across the street. Hotel was spotless clean. Not cheap by any means, but what I would call very competitively priced for being on Central Park.

I've been to park lane in 2019 before its renovation and it was already a great place to stay. The view over the park is amazing from sunrise to sunset. It worth to be jetlagged when you come here ! Lobby is a bit too noisy during the evening. Staff is very nice and helpful.

  • 5/5 Jill C. 1 year ago on Google
I enjoyed staying at the Park Lane before they renovated, but the newly updated hotel is very chic and totally elevated the hotel beyond what it was before. I had the pleasure of staying there recently and from the moment I checked in until I checked out, my experience was nothing, but positive. The staff were always very friendly and attentive, the rooms are lovely (as a Le Labo fan, I particularly enjoyed that they now carry their products. Very nice touch!) I unfortunately didn't get a chance to visit the rooftop bar, but both the downstairs bar and restaurant upstairs were great (special thanks to Sam!) I look forward to returning soon!

We travel to NYC a couple of times a year, but hadn't made it up at Christmastime since pre-COVID, so we wanted to treat ourselves to a Central Park view. We had come in for some lunch at Harry's Bar at Park Lane this summer, and I really loved the feel of the hotel, so it was an easy decision when we decided to make the trip for Christmas...especially with such fair pricing and value compared to other hotels in the area. The ladies at the front desk are so welcoming (...and very patient - one of them had to deal with a very rude guest in front of us, and she handled it so beautifully). Our room was beautiful and comfy - the art murals throughout the hotel are such a nice touch. We didn't go up to have breakfast at The Darling until our last day, which I DEEPLY regretted...the servers up there are so wonderful and cheerful, the atmosphere is impeccable, down to the music, and the food was all fantastic. I am so thrilled that we stayed here, and we can't wait to return. Thank you for a fantastic trip!

Having stayed at the Park Lane many times, and particularly the Parkview Junior Suite, and I was familiar with the property and these specific accommodations. However, the room that I was placed in was NOT the accommodation that I was expecting nor the room that my reservation printout indicated. In fact, it appeared to be a “bait and switch” situation, i.e. false advertising. I will not be staying at this hotel again. The renovation is great looking but not user friendly: 1. The bathroom is essentially non-functioning for most senior citizens There are no grab bars in the shower. The shower floor is slippery. There are no soap dishes or corner shelves. The remedy for this is a hole that was cut out of the shower glass so one can reach an arm through to the toilet tank lid to retrieve soap, shampoo, razor, etc. You have to return anything used in the shower back to the toilet lid when task is completed or put the item on the shower floor. Yet, the toilet tank top is beveled so nothing will remain on it, sliding off to the floor instead. There are no towel bars in the bathroom, but there are two hooks on the back of the door. Lighting is terrible. The space around the sink is limited. The good news is that the bathroom is beautiful and very New York-ish!! 2. The bed was very low. The mattress did not fill the frame box, thus creating a hazard for tripping. The mattress was comfortable and the pillows were great. 3. I was there for a week and there was not adequate drawer space. There was not a drawer or shelf in the night table which would have been helpful. There was, however, an abundance of closet space. 4. There was not a coffee pot in the room. If you like your coffee first thing in the morning, you will need probably need to dress to go downstairs to get it or come prepared to bring your own coffeemaker. 5. Also, I had asked for a refrigerator in the room. There was not one. We were then told there were none available, yet later we were told that they were bringing one. The one they brought was not working. They sent a working one the next day. If you have medications that needs refrigeration you would be wise to bring it in a small cooler. 6. When I made my reservation, it was confirmed with a picture of the older but more functional furniture. I liked the older more traditional look, but that is just my preference. I am sure that others will like the newer look. I was just disappointed. 7.. There is little comparison to the view of Central Park. It was terrific! The staff was very courteous and helpful.

This hotel has transitioned from the very traditional place with gilded chandeliers I grew up with to a fashionista magnet with minimalist furnishings and a too-loud-for-my-taste EDM background track. Contemporary art graces spacious yet spare rooms with park views to die for. Attractive but not luxurious. Fun rooftop breakfast buffet is over-priced for the food, worth every penny for the views. Very nice staff made us feel welcomed everywhere.

Had a great experience here celebrating an anniversary staycation. The view of Central Park day and night is something you can fall in love with, even if you've lived here for 30 years. When not galivanting around Central Park, there are tons of trains to get around the city close by. Service was super friendly, helpful and prompt. Shout out to Betty for an amazing breakfast hospitality both mornings!
