Dirty, staff was unacceptable, not friendly or helpful. No coffee in rooms, went to on-site restaurant & paid for cold coffee. Asked for clean towels twice & never received. Had to ask again for clean towels & basically had to plead my case. No receipt for room charges upon checkout. Room was loud & the entry was like a nightclub. You could not speak to the person you were with as the music in the libby was incredibly loud. I WILL NEVER STAY AT THIS HOTEL AGAIN….NEVER!!

I do not enjoy this hotel. The rooms were dirty, specially the carpet. The space for a room with 2 beds was too small. You felt like you are in a small room with space not even fir your suitcase. The bathroom was old and in need of refurbishment. The staff in general was friendly. In my opinion n comparing this H. Inn with others I have been was the worst. The hotel needs really urgent total refurbishment. I will never came back n never recommend for sure.

Great hotel in a nice location. Only issue was when we checked in they told us they cancelled our room because they were “fully booked” even though we had already paid for it. It was late at night and we were worried. They didnt even notify us ahead of time. My wife then told the front desk that our bank account had been charged and we had booked through capital one travel. The employee then double checks and says oh you still have your room. So that was weird but other than that it was a great stay.

Good location and the rooms were pretty clean, but they were pretty small and cramped. I almost had to stand in the shower to close the door to the bathroom. The mattresses were also quite firm and the auto-off on the ac/heating unit wasn't working so, when I first got into the room, it felt like a blast furnace. Also- and don't know if this was a problem more with the TV or cable- but the sound and picture kept freezing up, cutting out, or not working entirely. Staff were fine, but didn't seem to know that much about what was in the area or recommend a restaurant when the one in the hotel was closed (separate issue).

Don't come to this hotel. We stayed for 7 nights and never got our room cleaned. They never picked up the trash can, never pick up dirty towels. I ask them twice for cleaning, towels, shampoo, toilet paper, etc. and the answer was, "sorry we put you on the list". Our friends stayed in a hotel across the street, a much better experience. Don't come here!!!

Excellent location, clean room and courteous staff. Late-night check-in was smooth after visiting a famous jazz spot just down the street. Was lucky enough to be put on higher floor with a view facing Empire State Building and Bank of America Tower on Bryant Park. Considering the price for the room, I feel like I scored a lottery ticket! Def recommend.

We booked this hotel for my sister's bachelorette weekend. The location was definitely a selling point for this hotel. Walking distance to a few of the places we visited. My biggest gripe was that our bathroom door didn't close and made a TON of noise whenever we tried to open and close it so I ended up showering with the door wide open at night to not wake up my friends. Our room also didn't have a thermostat unlike our second room. The space wasn't anything crazy, a bit on the smaller side. The service was good though, everyone was very nice and attentive. It was really just the infrastructure of the building and the rooms. Holiday Inns are usually my favorite hotels to stay in, but this one didn't hit the mark. That being said, it was fine for what we needed it for. Just had to adjust our expectations a bit.

Stay was fine, but over two weeks later I am still waiting for the security deposit to be returned. I've contacted my bank and they suggest the hotel hasn't released it and I need to contact them. The hotel doesn't seem to want to know. Don't take the deposit if you are not going to return it promptly. Another star off because the 'luggage room' (i.e. leaving bags everywhere in reception) is extremely unprofessional. There's a whole downstairs area behind a coded door, it is lazy to not put it somewhere more secure and I do not believe that a hotel of this size does not have somewhere to do this. Use a room even. Anything more secure than this. I will be amazed if luggage does not get stolen frequently.

Holiday Inn, 6th Avenue, Manhattan We are a much travelled family and have used Holiday Inn many times in different cities worldwide. It was a brand that we, as a family, had confidence in. The accommodation was as expected and the cleaning staff should be praised. However, we were bemused by the demeanour of the other staff – front of house and in particular, breakfast staff. We could only conclude that Holiday Inn had given work experience to people from other backgrounds who had no experience of interacting with the public or serving at tables. We took a while to check in, the young man with headphones in, couldn’t find our reservation. There was no apology and, crucially, no explanation as to how the unique breakfast system worked. We found the breakfast room the following morning, eventually a young man came, we thought that he may normally have been a plasterer or welder trying out this new job, and told us that we needed a voucher from behind the reception desk to access breakfast. This voucher allowed us one item off the menu – any additional item such as orange juice had to be paid for. It was not permitted to pick up vouchers for my two sons or to pick up vouchers in advance for the next two days. The ritual of picking up the daily voucher was bizarre! Each morning was a transatlantic scene from Faulty Towers and proved to be a most memorable experience for all the wrong reasons. We had an amazing time in New York and had so many fantastic experiences of superb hospitality and service; the antithesis of our experience at the hotel. The location of the hotel was excellent

A basic hotel. Clean room with a comfortable bed. AC worked fine. Note: there are no refrigerators in the room. Really awesome location in Chelsea. Some nice second hand stores across the street and it's very close to Penn station. Rooms are small but as another reviewer commented, that is typical for NYC. Would definitely stay here again. Oh, side note: for some reason there was no water between 1:00 and 3:00 in the afternoon. But it was turned back on and everything was fine.

Really good hotel (as holiday inn) in a perfect location. The only thing is that they have some issues with the towels. Aparte from that highly recommended. Don’t expect spacious rooms as this is NY but it has everything you need. Furniture was quite old.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were extremely small with no microwave or refrigerator but hey it’s Manhattan. They were also a little dated but water pressure was good and the AC/heater worked well. The location was perfect! We walked to Times Square several times easily. Several groceries stores near by. Will probably be back.

Really nice and helpful front desk staff. The room was small but still clean and pretty nice. Bathroom had bath and body works brand amenities. Lamps and outlets worked and the AC was strong and water-cooled, you could hear the water inside. Amazing location, close to a variety of subway stations, coffee places, restaurants, and even Target. The cleaning staff were all very nice as well. 4 stars due to how slow the elevators were, it might be nice to have a third one.

They gave our room away. The night before getting on a flight from FL to NY, we spoke to 2 people about the possibility of early checking because my husband is an Ambassador for IHG. No one indicated anything was wrong until we arrived at the front desk. The concierge could not find us. I found our confirmation link and right before my eyes, it changed to 'cancelled.' We then spoke to the manager who pretty much admitted he gave it away because he didn't see a card on file. Without notifying us, he gave our room away. I'm here on a business trip and had items shipped to this hotel because of proximity. Being an Ambassador for IHG, there is always a card on file. What's shadier is we found out they would be able to charge the full $450/night instead of giving us a discount by giving our room away. All the hotels nearby are booked. This is unbelievable and they just get away with it. Easy to say, we'll be switching over to Marriott and spending all our travel money with them for now on

Lobby is very outdated and looks very bad.... our room was very good tho. Very spacious and clean. The location is also really good (walking distance from the empire stat building and times square). They said there was a gym but i saw no signs of it and i did not hear anything about it.

The greeters were nice. We only had one issue - we called ahead to ask if our room would have certain amenities and were told to request them in person. When we went in person, rooms with those amenities were not available. That... was why we called in advance! (We were looking for a microwave.) Other than that, the room was nice and clean and the water was hot.

Room was fine, no fridge or microwave. TV didn’t really work. Good location. Ask for a room on a higher floor because the downstairs bar BLASTS music all night long. Kept us awake on multiple nights. Bag security: Dec 2023, still holding bags in the lobby, not behind a closed door.

Although the rooms are very small, I’ll give it a 5/5 anyway because it is what it is, and the room was CLEAN, which is most important! I was here on business so it got the job done. The bathroom is so comically small though, you can’t turn around in it without bumping into something lol. The mattress was firm — like absolutely no bounce, which created pressure points for me, but I overall slept great. The TV is nice and big and had decent channels. I couldn’t get the ironing board out of the closet because it was jammed in there. The baggage handling was very efficient in my experience and I really have to thank one of the desk staff for going above and beyond for me. I don’t recall her name, but she was the only black woman I encountered at the front desk and her brown hair was styled in braids. Can’t thank her enough for her empathy towards my situation and going above and beyond to accommodate me. Beware: at 9PM, you need your room key to open the front door, which is tricky if you’re checking in late and don’t have a key yet.

Went to check in at 3pm as stated and didn’t get a room until 430pm said they weren’t ready. Staff on the desk very unhelpful. Rooms were clean but bathrooms were in disrepair and taps broken. Good location but very noisy and rooms weren’t very warm. Family room only provided two cups and tea/coffee for two even tho 4 adults. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Spend a little more and actually enjoy your stay it will be worth it !!!

Great location. But the radiator in my room was sooo noisy that I couldn't sleep without earplugs. And this hotel doesn't respond to my request for deposit refund. It has been 2 weeks already since I checked out.

Had called and asked for something but it was never brought up. Rooms are a little dated but fine for the price. Elevator is a little slow. Staff that I interacted face to face were great and friendly. Good location, a little off from a main street so not too busy right outside the hotel

It's okay. The rooms are clean, but the baths are a bit small. I also feel like the beds are not queen size, even if they're advertised like that. Hotel is pretty central and it's okay for a couple of nights. You can leave your luggage, if you're too early for check-in, or even after checking out for the day. For the price of $400 per night for 2 people, i would have expected a bit more. Something like breakfast or even some sweets in the room.

Easy walk to/from Penn station. Rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. Tv had a mind of its own. Second time we stayed here, both times adjoining the elevator shaft. Car makes a scraping sound each trip. Had breakfast in the restaurant, understaffed, no condiments, no coffee refill. Very expensive for what we got. For $500/night, mister can i put my arms down now?

Perfect location for visiting MSG! Excellent view of the city! Rooms are very clean but not overly spacious. But I wouldn't say they are cramped either. Parking is available at a garage just up the street from the hotel so make sure you have a little extra cash with you. I would definitely stay here again

Lovely rooms and staff, a little small, but it’s what you expect for New York City. The front desk was very pleasant, they were consistently caring even with our countless requests, and our conversations with them made our day. Our only complaint is that the parking is a bit weird; the hotel’s lot is about a 5 minute walk away. The hotel food is expensive but also the usual for hotel food. Other than that, great stay!

Great place to stay when taking train to or from Penn station. An easy walk to the station. Pickup sandwiches or snacks at Gardenia Deli, open 24 hours. Really nice and hospitable staff! Small rooms but very clean and staff is great and very helpful. Make sure you google HI "Express" Chelsea as there is a regular HI nearby but a little further away.

The room wasn't ready by check in but the 2 ladies at the front desk were very nice! One of the clerks made sure she gave me great customer service and apologized for delay! Parking is not at the hotel but not far. Walking distance. The price for parking was 40 dollars. My vehicle was safe. Breakfast was great. Room was clean and comfortable. Not far from restaurants and Time Square!

This hotel got the job done. Not an awful place to stay in NYC. Great distance from everything, nice staff. But the cons were that the elevators were awful, they were either always packed or made very concerning noises. Woke up to a cold shower even though I waited for it to warm up and turned it to its highest heat.

The location was great.. Other than that.. Very disappointing compared to other (many) Holiday Inns I've stayed at. Very old everything and I wish they did some extra cleaning on carpet and bathroom... shower curtain was very dirty with spots which weren't mold.. and very small room but I guess that's typical of NYC's affordable Hotels. I wouldn't stay at this location again.. even though I love the location.

Stayed here for 3 days and had no issues with the staff or room (AC, TV, & bathroom all worked). We were able to check in early and we were able to leave our bags before departing later that day. The room is small but it’s NY. I expected it to be average. The only reason why i’m giving four stars is because it doesn’t have a microwave or refrigerator and housekeeper did not come once. Either she/he never came or she/he came when we weren’t there..who knows! (pictures are of a King sized Room...this was taken before checking out!)

I had a great experience with someone from the front desk who I’d like to applaud for her excellent customer service! I want to say her name was Karen? She helped me at 2am to book a room after Priceline kept declining my booking. Obviously the price for booking directly with the hotel was more expensive, so she made me a member of their rewards program so my room price was essentially the same I would’ve paid on Priceline! The room we stayed in was a standard king and it was definitely small- but was not an issue cause we were only there one night. As long as the room is clean, size is not a factor for me (And it was clean). But I know that’s important to some so I figured I’d mention. My one negative thing to say about the entire experience? No microwave. Now I knew there was not one in the room, but what I did not know was that there was no microwave in the lobby either. Kinda sucked cause we had leftovers we had to eat ice cold, since we couldn’t refrigerate them either. But hey, you get what you pay for. Great place for an overnighter and good value for the money. Close to tons of food spots and we enjoyed the experience overall

Tidy and clean room. Impressed with spotless carpet floor. Maybe the cleaning staff vacuums 24 hours? Fully stocked bath towels, hand towels, facial towels, shampoo, conditioner & body wash. 5-star location! Thank you to Destiny who checked me in! She is really smiley and sweet :) On route to Brooklyn, Uber driver told me to be cautious in certain parts of Brooklyn but told me several times that where I am staying is super safe. I spent the following days in the neighborhood and felt very comfortable as a solo traveler.

I enjoyed my stay here! Rooms have been recently remodeled and construction ended. Everything was clean and the room looked great. Rooms were small but it’s Manhattan. Location was great and central with lots of restaurant and coffee shops around (key since I was there for work). Would definitely stay there again both for work and for myself. I’m not expecting a resort when staying at any Holiday Inn and this exceeded my expectations Sammy was amazing during my stay. Super personable and overall a fantastic person to talk to. The other staff I encountered were friendly as well. Even if another place ends up cheaper next time I’m in NYC my experience with the staff will make me stay here again

I would first want to note that the general staff we came in contact with was really great! Friendly and very helpful! The manager on duty, not so much. They were not the friendliest and seemed as if we were a bother to them with every interaction. The hotel is in a great location and made for an easy sightseeing trip with a child. Rooms were ok and what you could expect from a budget hotel in midtown. The website also mentioned a special rate for hotel guests parking at a nearby garage, but it turned out to just be the regular garage rate. Overall not the best but not the worst, decent and doable for a one night stay, but likely wouldn’t book again if I had another option.

The location was great and the rooms were clean just a little bit small. On our first night in the hotel, the water stopped working in our room completely. There was no running water in the sink, toilet, and shower. We tried to call the front desk but the phone did not work. Prior to this, we asked for towels about 2 times and did not receive any. I went downstairs to talk to the front desk and was told that someone was gonna check on us. I asked for towels again for the third time and didn’t get any.The maintenance worker came and let us know what the situation was. We went to bed that night without being able to use the toilet, was our faces or our hands. We were prepared to relocate to another hotel in the morning if the water was not back on. Around 5 am, the water began running again but it was brown. We let it run hoping it would clear up and it slowly started getting more pale but not quite clear. I decided to ask for towels a 4th time around and bumped into the maintenance man. He was great and told me that the water should clear up soon. We were glad to hear this news because we were beginning to use the water that hadn’t cleared up all the way to wash our faces and take showers. The water began working but we couldn’t reach management since the issue occurred. It seemed that every method we tried to get in contact with management lead to them avoiding us. A member of my party was pregnant and this was very unsafe for her as well as the rest of us. We do not blame the hotel for the water running out but this was poorly handled. It seemed as though the only helpful person at the hotel was the maintenance man. We were getting the runaround and this is completely upsetting. We were also told that we couldn’t get our deposit back because of a so called “mess” that we left in the room. We made sure to discard of any trash and not leaving anything on the floor so this is an absurd accusation.
