Stay away for a while! We were awakened by very, very loud construction noise in the lobby. But given no warning that would happen. The lobby is under construction. They charge a destination fee which in theory you can use toward food, BUT the market was closed on several occasions when we wanted to buy food. And, if you want to store your bags after you check out, that is $5 per bag. Which they did not warn us about either. Great location. Rooms are fine. But service is lacking. Not one friendly person here. Maybe try again in six months!?

From the moment I stepped foot in this hotel, I was greeted very professionally and with such an attentiveness. Then when I got to the lobby to check in the front desk lady was very generous and informative. My room was very clean and smelled good! And that view I got was the cherry on the top! This hotel has excellent staff members. I love that everything is right there next to you to your convenience. I’d definitely stay here again.

This hotel had just reopened the week of our stay after being closed for over two years. Every staff person we encountered was courteous, helpful, friendly, and expressed their gratitude that we chose to stay at Hilton Times Square. The bellmen and security staff on the first floor assisted with directions, and they safely stored our luggage after we checked out so we didn't have to carry it around the city until our flight. The property was immaculate. Our room was very spacious, and spotless. The restaurant and bar had not yet reopened, but there were so many choices nearby that it was not a problem at all. Times Square is a noisy area, but we were on the 35th floor and our room was very quiet. AND the water pressure in the shower was excellent! Would definitely stay here again.

I and my husband stayed in Hilton hotel last weekend for Christmas. Advantages:The view was just amazing! 35 floor looks stunning! The room was clean. Disadvantages: there were a couple of things we didn't like. When we entered the room we saw ripped curtain and the door handle was off. We reported about it to hotel reception and they said they would fix it. When we came back the door handle was fixed but curtain was still ripped. We had to wait elevators long because only 2 worked. And the most annoying thing was when we were checking in receptionist said they charged 60$ extra for something I don't remember but if we go to have breakfast hotel will refund this amount after we check out. So we paid 100$ for buffet breakfast which isn't cheap at all and we are still waiting for refund. In general, everything was good except these things. I would stay here again if hotel give more information when you check in

All in all the hotel is good. For the price I expected excellent service and quality which I did not get. The breakfast is good. I paid for a stay that included breakfast but I was not on the breakfast list and was told that I have to pay. They corrected the mistake but it would have been nice to just enjoy a breakfast without stress. When I asked for an additional room key, Kenny at the front desk told me I first need to bring him my credit card. He did not explain why...?? When I came to FD the next day I was told that I do not need a credit card. So I guess the staff isn't really updated on their policies and are sending the guests on unnecessary trips. The room itself had a fantastic view of the Empire State and Lady liberty. The cleanliness was a bit lacking. For example the tray that holds the bar of soap was dirty from previous usage and the chair next to the window had big red stains. I did not bring the issues up during our stay as I was focused on exploring the city and the issues were minor.

Stayed here for a business trip, and had a great experience. The rooms were spacious by Manhattan standards, very clean and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful as well, I felt very welcome. The restaurant isn’t fully operational yet (Nov 2022), but there will be a $30 destination fee including a credit for food or bikes once it is. One nice thing is that there is an underground Target directly across the street that has a food section, so if you’re in need of something simple to eat or drink, you can pop over there. I wasn’t feeling like a heavy breakfast and opted for some strawberries and a bag salad instead.

After reading the reviews from Christmas through the New Year I was a little apprehensive about our stay from 1/5-1/9. However, from the second we checked in, everything about this Hilton location was GREAT!! Yes, one bank of elevators was out of service. But, the other bank of three elevators was more than sufficient, during our stay. All the employees were courteous & helpful. Our room was great...... I suggest asking for an even numbered room. That way you will have a view to the South (Empire State Building). Also, concerning the $30 per day additional charge.......just grab a couple drinks at the bar. Or go to the grab-n-go shop and get snacks/drinks. Just tell them you want to charge it to your room. We enjoyed our stay so much that we are recommending this hotel to a few different friends that will be visiting NYC later this year.

We stayed the night on the first night the hotel was reopened for business since the beginning of the pandemic. The front desk staff were great and seemed very happy to be welcoming guests back. We had a great room on the 43rd floor with a lovely view. One surprise - and hear me out - the tap water was quite good! Two things I would want to fix with the room. 1) the air conditioner only goes down to 68 degrees Fahrenheit which meant that by 3am all three of us in the room had thrown all our covers off.🥵 I never managed to get back to sleep after that. 😢 We even had the window open as much as allowed with temperatures in the 40s outside and it would not get cool enough for comfortable sleeping. 2) I will never understand hotel designer's choice to not provide a nightstand on both sides of a queen bed in a two queen bed room. It's as if they only expect such rooms to be used by two people, not three or four. This is a common issue that - were I in charge of the 🌎 - I would fix. However, we were generally very happy with our stay and the location cannot be beat.

I stayed here with my father around Christmas time. They seem to have a problem with over booking because they could not give us the room we had booked months ago. To make up for it, they gave us free breakfast for the two days we were in stayed in the wrong room. At the end of our stay they tried to charge us for the breakfast we were supposed to be given for free. Additionally, when we got to switch to the room we initially booked, they took our old room keys and said someone would bring our luggage over to the new room. It took several hours until they finally sent someone up just to move our stuff just a few doors down. For what it's worth though, everyone outside of the front desk is very nice. It's also kind of convenient to be near Times Square and multiple subway stations. Just beware before you book.

Stayed at this hotel 3/16 - 3/20. every Hilton employee we encountered from the bar tenders to bell hops to front desk was 5 stars. Very friendly and willing to help. Great location and fairly modern updated rooms. The hotel was very loud both from the inside and outside, but that's expected being in Times Sq. I cannot give them 5 starts however as they charged us a smoking fee on the room. No one in my family smokes anything. At check in on 3/16 we notified the front desk that our room smelled of cigarette smoke. they offered to move us but it was a great room great location. we just wanted it noted the room already smelled like smoke, and we were told it was noted on our account. 2 days after check out I was however charged at $272 smoking fee. despite repeated calls to management and customer service I cannot get any resolution to this. besides this 1 major issue everything was top notch

Room and hotel are very clean. It is a great location to stay in time square. They have $35 daily charge that you must use or lose. This was not stated prior to booking or maybe I missed it. But to be charged for something that basically forces you to spend within the hotel isn’t something I like. $50 early check in. Asked if I wanted to upgrade to a higher floor for $40 more a night. First night the drinks at the bar was terrible.

Great location and clean. My issue is that I left a jacket and sweater in the closet of my room. (I know, this is my fault) 😭 When I called to see how to handle this...I was told they were no longer there. 🙄 They informed that housekeeping were the only people in that room and that they do a thorough check each day. I know I left these items there...which to me means these items were taken/not documented when found by housekeeping. 👿

We took our two teenage children to New York for a short vacation. We checked in on the Hilton’s first day being open after having been closed for 2.5 years. We absolutely loved our stay. We arrived very early (6am) and the staff did everything they could to accommodate us and make us comfortable. They didn’t “officially” open until noon! This hotel is in a perfect spot. The major theaters are in easy walking distance and there is an abundance of great restaurants and cafes in very close proximity. Subway locations are very accessible from the hotel. NYC truly is at your doorstep at this hotel. To top it all off, the staff was amazing! We definitely will stay at this hotel on future visits to NYC.

Raquel is the best!!! Let me also give a shout out to the bell men as well. We were in NYC to celebrate my daughter’s birthday. After taking a red eye we took a chance on checking in early and Raquel accommodated us. Room was on the 42nd floor with a wonderful view of the city. When I come back in the spring I will definitely be staying here again!

Great location. Rooms are pretty dated and the heating system is extremely noisy, but the view on high floors is great. Staff were very friendly for the most part. There is a $5/bag fee if you need to leave a bag in storage. They don’t tell you this when you ask if there’s storage, so just a heads up. I was told they implemented this policy about 4 months ago. Overall it’s a fair value for the location.

Location is fantastic! Bar staff great. Rooms are ok. Valet service is bad however. Don't bring car. Have to walk to get your own car. They lost my car. Had to walk streets to find it. Unreal.

If you are intending to see Time Square and enjoy several of the Broadway shows, this hotel is perfectly located for you close by the action at Times Square as well as to the subway. The hotel itself is somewhat dated, however very clean. Be aware that the hotel bar is not opening until 4 PM in the afternoon and breakfast is costing you a full $40 for the full buffet And for the continental breakfast it is still $29. Depending when you arrive, you may have to Stand in lines to check in since the hotel has only limited from desk staff available.

I was mildly surprised by how nice this hotel was, it definitely exceeded my expectations. It’s clean and mostly quiet with large rooms and a nice, vibing bar in the lobby with friendly staff at the service desk and baggage check, to boot. Not to mention the location is perfect. I’m not a huge Times Square fan but just love the theatre district, Central Park, and Chelsea and we got some good steps in trekking back and forth from this location. I’m only removing one star because of construction noise inside the hotel that started at 8am on a Wednesday and was really loud, as well as for their “$5/bag to hold bags at checkout” policy. I mean come on.

Great hotel. Very clean, staff very helpful and attentive. The cleaning staff was friendly and attentive to guests as you passed them in the hallway. The hotel is centrally located in Manhattan, walking distance to lots of stores, restaurants, night life, subway. Front desk was helpful in showing us how to use the subway as out-of-towners. The view from our room was amazing as well.

The hotel is apparently under renovation making it appear extremely cramped. Work needs to be done to efficiently explain the details of accommodations, amenities and charges any patron will incur. The hotel is cute and neat but it is well beneath the 4 star Hilton experience I am accustomed to.

I saw a lot of negative reviews about this hotel and was a little worried heading in to the city. Those reviews could not have been more wrong. This hotel is great. It's tucked in a little spot on 42nd street and you go up to the lobby via elevators. I felt very safe coming and going at all times because the lobby isn't even on the ground floor. There is a cute bar/ snack shop area that was always bustling. Then you need a key to go on the next elevator up to your room. Rooms were very clean and big. Our room had a great view of the Empire State Building. I was so pleased and would stay here again in a heartbeat. Also, it's close to Port Authority so I won't even bring my car next time.

When arriving by vehicle, go around to the valet at 41st street. Take the elevator to the lobby. Cam was amazing making sure we were taking care of, our vehicle, and belongings. We arrived early and asked if there were any upgraded rooms available for early check in. We were checking in one hour early in a clean and spacious room that overlooked the Empire State Building and the One World Trade Center and Statue of Liberty in the distance. We couldn't be more satisfied with any of it. I just wanted to add the other staff members we encountered were incredible too. The lovely lady at check in, Robert, Donnell(got my car and cart right away), Mike, and all of the rest. Truly thank you for your service and accommodation.

The location is great, right in the middle of everything and reasonable walking distance to everything. Definitely try to stay on a top floor because it can get loud in the streets. It was very safe, there was a door man to the elevators to the lobby. Now for the downsides. There are two separate elevators you have to take to the ground floor so it can take a little longer to get down. The biggest issue with the hotel was the service level. We were never ever in the 5 days we were there, able to reach the front desk or any kind of guest service on the phone. We always had to go down to the lobby where there was always a line for the front desk. We were always told they were short staffed so they couldn’t answer the phone. I can understand if you’re short staffed one day but every day?! I think it’s just their policy to not have anyone answer phones.

After being closed for a short duration they came back strong! We only stayed over the weekend of Dec 16 - 17th, but our stay was without incident and very pleasurable. First I'll start with the the location - it is so convenient to everything downtown NYC. The only time we needed transportation was to Manhattan to catch the ferry to Liberty and Ellis Island. Secondly - the staff was very courteous and helpful. Rodney and his crew were over the top friendly. He offered good tips on places to eat, best way to get where you are going, and general knowledge. He took care of us and our luggage when we had to store it! If you visit and need anything ask for Rodney if he is on duty - great job Rodney and everyone. Next the front desk - They were helpful, professional and friendly but at times seemed like they were just tired or had had enough for the day. It was busy too with a lot of people checking out and checking in so I get they wanted to keep everything moving. I would too. Overall, they did what they could do to accommodate us and although we did not get the rooms we requested they had an extra bed brought up asap and we made it work. The only downside is we requested the early check in but still ended up checking in after 4 which is understandable since early check in is dependent on other people checking out and your specific room availability. They do allow you to store your luggage which is a free service for quests while you go out and about while your room becomes available if needed. Again, we did not get the early check in and the rooms we requested but they did what they could to make our visit pleasurable and accommodating. Lastly the lounge and restaurant. We had a $35 credit for our rooms and used it to buy snacks for the day. The continental breakfast was superb and everything was fresh. This is not included to plan ahead if you want to have breakfast. The bar was a nice place to sit and relax after along day of walking around the city. The bartenders were outstanding and my Old Fashioned was one of the best I have had mixed. Gratuity is included so make sure you look at your bill. I highly recommend the Hilton at Times Square if you visit NYC and I don't think you'll be disappointed especially if you like to feel like your at the center of all the activity.

We have stayed here multiple times very satisfactorily. The front desk staff are efficient. The elevators are fast. We liked the convenience store for quick breakfasts. The best thing about this hotel, though, is the location. Broadway theaters are just blocks away. The nearby Times Square subway station provides access to the entire city.

  • 2/5 B R. 4 months ago on Google
These are very nice rooms in most ways. But be warned: (1) The lights of Times Square do leak past the curtains at night, badly. Bring a sleeping mask! And (2) there is a 35 dollar daily fee that they don't tell you about until you arrive. For that fee alone, I could never give this place 5 stars. Total rip off.

This was my first visit to NYC from Texas and truly enjoyed my stay! I cant thank Elizabeth enough for all she did for my family and I. She made sure we felt special on our trip and it truly shows how much she enjoys her job. The food and beverages were excellent, thanks to Liz and her staff! The maid staff was extremely kind and they made me feel at home. The King room was large, the bed was comfy, but didn't have the best view. I will be returning and staying at this hotel for the hospitality, convenience, and genuine care they put into serving their customers. Thank you Liz and the staff at Hilton Times Square! If you're looking for a great place to stay in NYC, look no further!

The location of this hotel is very convenient and it is easy to find. I checked in on the mobile app and the room was ready at around 2PM, which was a surprise. The room was very spacious and I could not hear neighboring rooms. The room faced north, and there was a decent amount of noise entering the room from the street. Some things that could be improved are the room decor, the front desk area, and food quality. Our room had a single "art piece" which was just news headlines. Why not pictures of the city? NYC themed? Or something visually appealing? I am not sure if it was the employees or the guests. But the front desk area was very crowded and moved very slow. Not convenient to ask a simple question. I liked the restaurant's appearance. We were sat near the large windows, with a view of the city. The food prices were higher than average, and the food was really not anything special. Had I not had the $35 credit to use, I probably would have skipped the restaurant.

  • 3/5 Ivan M. 1 year ago on Google
Indicated a down allergy and requested hypoallergenic bedding when booking. Everything was down in our room, waited over an hour for replacement bedding. Weird "mandatory" $35 fee that is "use it or lose it" food/beverage credit. Don't waste money upgrading your room for a "better" view. Most staff were extremely professional and friendly. Location is great for theatre closeness, but a little light on health food options. Getting into the parking lot is a huge pain, it's one block behind the entrance and a slew of one way streets are in your way.

  • 4/5 Gio C. 6 months ago on Google
If the city view is your thing, this place is great! Ideally located just a walk from Times Square, plenty of great restaurants and the theater district. Great selection of food and drinks at the bar/restaurant downstairs too. The staff were all great and if your a gold member, you get all kinds of perks here. It is a bit pricey and the room was tiny but had everything you need, but for a quick visit to the city, we’ll worth it. Enjoy the city!! 🤙🏻

Busy, messy, unorganized Had to wait half hour to finally get my luggage that was kept In luggage room and go to my room. Guests piled at the lobby trying to use the stairs as the queue to use the elevator was going around the lobby. Hated this experience e never again

  • 3/5 Tim F. 2 years ago on Google
It was OK. When we stayed, only one of the elevators from the ground was working, so access to/from the lobby took a while as there was always a line to get up or down. Breakfast was great! We'd go pick up a slice of pizza and bring it back to enjoy at the table along with our breakfast. Something fun about that... Location was obviously central to everything and almost every subway line in New York was only feet away. But in retrospect, times square should have been more of a destination to check out rather than where we stayed. Every time we left the hotel, it was wall to wall people and it made it a challenge every time we wanted to venture out. That said, despite the location, our room was EXTREMELY quiet. We were pleasantly surprised by just how easy it was to sleep surrounded by what is obviously a noisy outside. At checkin, our preferred room was not available, and we were downgraded to a smaller room. At checkout, we were surprised our downgraded room cost more. The lobby clerk told me it was because I changed the reservation last minute. I explained that no, the HOTEL did that when I was checking in saying my preferred room wasn't available. A follow up call from the hotel manager got it all squared away.

Our stay was great. Without any doubt hotel has very good location and you can easily reach best places in the city. There are several metro lines close to the hotel. Room we got was big enough, clean and we were sleeping very good (comfortable bed, pillows, not loud). Staff was friendly. On our departure day we did last shopping and started to repack everything in the lobby. Nobody told us anything and they even gave us scissors and showed their understanding. Can only recommend this hotel.

Great hotel in the middle of the action! I lived in NYC for a few years, but after some time away I wanted to come back and feel like a tourist. I stayed here for my birthday weekend at the end of February and it was a fun stay! Take the elevator up to the lobby where you’re greeted by views and a huge bar. The rooms aren’t anything insanely special, but the views are Time Square beauty. Location is so key to all of the fun tourist spots and it feels special to stay “in the middle of the action”. Would definitely stay again for a tourist weekend away!

What a lovely relaxing break. All of the staff members are exceptional. I would highly recommend that everyone should have a stay here. The spa is so relaxing and there are plenty of areas one can get away and read without any interruption. They have a great area to unwind. Ideal hotel! Just visit the place with your loved ones.

This hotel has the two features that I like, comfy bed and quiet room. It may not be new or trendy but after a long day of sightseeing all I need is a good night's sleep. Room and bathroom were clean.Price was reasonable for the great location.

We had a last minute guest come in town and needed a nice, comfortable, convenient place for them to stay and the Hilton provided everything, including GREAT SERVICE from their staff! Melissa and Michelle (at the front desk) were absolutely wonderful!!! They went above and beyond to both accommodate our special needs and to ensure that we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend this location!

I rated the hotel good because it was in walking distance of a lot of things I wanted to see and do. The staff was also nice but I would give the hotel itself two stars. Our room was not clean, the towels were dirty, and it needed repairs. It was not worth what we paid.

We were there to support a family member running the NY Marathon, and so happy we stayed here. The hotel itself is clean, secure, and in a great location. With entrances on either side of the block it was very easy go anywhere we wanted. The staff was very friendly and helpful, by far the best stay I've had in any NYC hotel!

Great stay here. The hotel is in a great location, the rooms are a good size and layout for nyc. The bed is comfy and views were awesome. A big thank you to Stephanie at the front desk. She was very kind and very helpful and she helpful to put us in a really good mood. Thanks Stephanie!

My friends and I LOVED our stay. The staff is so nice and responsive and acknowledged us every time we walked through the lobby! They saved us from a different hotel horror story. Very bad experience. We are a family of 5 so it demandes some organization. We booked two nights for 5 and when we checked in, the rooms we booked were no more available. They found a solution and splitted us in two rooms. The morning after I went to the front desk asking if it was ok to stay like this or if we should move to another room. They said that is was fine and no need to change anything so we went out sightseeing for the day. Later that day, back to the hotel we had been literally kicked out of one room, they gave one of our two rooms to another customer without any notice, no calls, nos email, nothing…. They finally found another room for us but the problem is that we had private stuff in the room we lost like toiletry bag that had never been gave back to us! Apparently the bag is lost. Staff is “sorry” but we have been treated very poorly from check in to check out and never will be back in this hotel. This is just unacceptable.

I don't typically leave reviews. The staff were friendly and helpful. We had a clean room and any supplies we asked for without hesitation. It was comfortable and we have a nice view. We felt at "home" during our stay. Thank you for making our trip to NYC comfortable, we will definitely be back! Breakfast was a little expensive in my opinion so we just got a sandwich and coffee at the store for credit to our room which was ok. All in all, great location and great staff and accommodations.

This hotel has been a go to for several years when we spend a night or two in the city or have clients we need to put up. The staff is always fantastic, the bar well stocked, and the atmosphere great for entertaining. They also have a very nice breakfast layout. We find it underpriced for the quality and we have had fantastic feedback from everyone we have sent to stay. Good job Hilton!

Excellent location and rooms were nice and cozy. When we checked in our room wasn't ready so Kenny suggested that we could pay $50 for an early check-in on top of the $35 per day charge and $400 incidental hold. We weren't happy with all the extra fees but we were so ready to get settled in. The bartender was nice and so was Rocky. He was always helpful and welcoming whenever we entered the lobby. Overall, great hotel!

The hotel was nice and affordable. Rooms were pretty standard but could use some maintenance. Our room was missing the sheer curtain for the window, although the blackout curtain was present. Bathroom door was worn and could use some paint. As it was a heavy sliding door, it was also noisy. Our bathtub was very slow to drain so our showers turned into hybrid baths. As we were only staying a few nights, we didn't bring up issues with management, who may have been able to correct them. Biggest complaint was the $55 breakfast. Very overpriced, even with a $30/day food and beverage credit. Overall, the hotel was exactly what we needed at a great price. The location was perfect and the service was good. Would stay again when visiting NYC.

Rooms are good size and impeccably clean. Location great for Broadway and Time Square, but noisy, which can be heard even 40 floors up. Amazing views from the 44th floor south. No room service and a 35 dollar charge added daily on a 'use it or lose it' basis for food and drink. Requested room not available on arrival, but upgraded for rest of stay. Completely cashless. Waiting staff great for bar and dining.

I am a new Hilton Honors member so I chose to stay at their Times Square Hotel rather than the Marriott. What a disappointment. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel and certainly not consumer friendly. That being said I should mention the rooms were fine (even thoughtthere were non of the in room perks you usually find in a 4 star hotel) and the location is perfect, BUT the hotel's general amenities are almost non-existent. Supposedly the hotel was under renovation so there was no full service restaurant, just a small bar in the lobby and a grab and go area. The grab and go closed at 5 so it use was very limited. I also want to mention that this hotel is not customer friendly. Check-in was 4, (even though the in-hotel literature says check-in is 3.) When we arrived a little before 3, we were told that our room was ready, but there would be a $50 additional charge if we check-in before 4:00. This was certainly a money grab it wouldn't have cost them a cent to let us check-in an hour early. No real benefit to being a Hilton Honors Member!
