I really wanted to give a 5 star review. The hotel is exceptionally beautiful, the location is great and the room was much bigger than NYC standard. Price was reasonable as well. During our stay, only 1 elevator appeared to be working. Every morning, we waited 15 minutes with no elevator in sight. On 2 occasions we ended up walking more than 10 flights of stairs. On checkout, we waited 25 minutes as only 1 person was working at reception. I needed a receipt, but the hotel does not have an automated checkout system. Many guests repeatedly told the staff to get some help, but apparently, there were staff cuts during Covid (though the hotel was full). Toilet had low flow and would leak a bit from the handle when flushed. Not a big deal, but not what I would expect from a high end hotel. Would I stay there again? Maybe. But changes need to be made instead of simply relying on past reputation.

Great hotel. Very friendly and helpful staff. Delicious food at the Villard restaurant. Only knock against it is that it is a bit old, some of the decor and amenities are showing their age. I like that, at it's a throwback 80s vibe for me, but others may not enjoy. I cannot stress how lovely the staff is, however: from the front desk to housekeeping to bellhops, all were courteous and helpful.

It looks fancy from the outside and lobby, but it’s pretty basic. I’ve had nicer rooms in Holiday Inns. Technology in the rooms are not updated, the buttons for lights and early service are so worn the labels are gone. Food that you order through room service is airport quality. (Warwick nearby has way better food) Good hotel gym here though!

Your wonderful team member Maurice was fabulous today. I understand he has been with you for a long time. He is very good with people and made a huge difference. Also was lovely today to see the Easter Bunny handing out Chocolates. Great to see this Hotel taking care of its guests. To the GM - Please treat Maurice and his family out to a meal on the Hotel well deserved. Please thank him for all his hard work. It was great to meet a team member who really takes pride of his work.

Such a beautiful place! The service here is impeccable! My only complaint is that for so much money, there isn't even a coffee maker available and their prices for in room service are quite steep! However, that being said, the location, service, cleanliness & all around vibe is complete perfection! Every, single staff person you come in contact with is not only helpful, their attitude is warm, friendly & genuinely concerned that your stay is top notch!

This historic hotel lives up to its reputation. We have stayed here several times throughout the years and have visited many more times for the bar or just to enjoy the ambiance. The rooms are fantastic with some incredible views. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. We also greatly enjoy the upstairs and downstairs bars (can't think of the names at the moment) for both food and drinks. The hotel is perfectly located in the heart of midtown, walking distance from the park, Rockefeller center, and of course the shopping. I love the decor they put up each year for Christmas time!

After spending a night in a hotel that was recommended to us but was not great, we called the Lotte to see if they had availability last minute. They had rooms for us and honored the promotion they had offered us in the past. Unlike some of the reviews here, we had a great check in experience. We did not have to wait and my children were treated like a little king and queen because it’s the palace! They have them crowns and teddy bears—it was very cute. The rooms are very clean and spacious. The staff goes out their way to make sure all your needs are met. The housekeeper who goes by Peter in particular was extraordinary. She helped us get in touch with security when we forgot our room key (would have been a pain to go back down to the lobby with 2 kids). My husband paced the halls while my son was having a tantrum/fighting sleep. When my mom (staying in an adjoining room) was about to knock on my door, Peter let her know that it sounded like the baby just fell asleep. Staff in the concierge and cafe were great too! All around wonderful stay and we are so glad we moved over to this hotel. It made our trip so much better!

This hotel is in a great location. Staff goes above and beyond for their customers. They had several hand sanitizers which made us feel safer about their awareness. The staff is almost over accommodating, but expected for the price. Anyone would feel super pampered and it was a really nice experience especially for individuals who work more than full-time just to make ends meet and just want to really relax. Room service is very fast, they come in and setup your table, they whistle for cabs, they hold your delivery at the desk. Overall amazing weekend for us.

The bell staff were phenomenal, so welcoming and exactly what you would expect from a 5 star hotel. The desk staff were okay but I would have expected a higher standard of service. The bar is beautiful and drinks are good, though be prepared to pay significantly more than you would outside of the hotel. The views of St Patrick’s and the city are great. The rooms are okay. They are spacious for NYC though dated. The TVs are tiny, old and you can’t stream anything from them or cast onto them. For the cost, the rooms could definitely use updating.

My daughter and I were having a weekend together which we hoped would be luxurious but unfortunately the Lotte (rather pretentiously pronounced Low-tay) didn't quite live up to it. She required extra pillows and I require extra duvets so I asked for those on check-in at 1.30. 4 hours later they still hadn't arrived, and there followed hourly and then half-hourly calls to see what was happening. We finally asked at the desk on our way our to dinner and did come back to them. The bedroom was very plain with two armchairs and a stained desk chair, and the bathroom is tiny. The shower is over the tub and there is no grab-rail, litigation waiting to happen when someone slips, I reckon. There is also no extractor fan which made it steamy. I had to request a coffee maker which did arrive in a timely manner. We had appointments at the spa, who had the price different for my facial by $35 from what was advertised, nor did they know about the 10% discount for hotel guests, but did willingly comply after a rather long discussion. The common rooms are nice but I have to say I, for one, resent having to make a reservation for breakfast. The location, of course, is excellent but there's certainly room for improvement at this supposedly 'luxury' hotel.

Remember to use HoteIDully.ᴄᴏm when booking your stay. They compare thousands of booking websites and typically will have rates a lot cheaper compared to others! Thank me later! This place is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I'm sure! Incredible property. Location was perfect for us. We stayed in the tower and our room was very spacious and well appointed. We had an amazing view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. Staff was professional, friendly, and helpful. I can’t say enough good things. We will absolutely return.

It's an amazing location! The public spaces are lovely. The rooms are space, with plenty of storage. The food top notch and I had a view of St Patrick's... which was WOW! The only minor tiny issue I had was I locked my room to do not disturb, it was only when I asked at the front desk that I found out there was a button by the bed, which switched it off. The one by the door didn't seem to work. But this did nothing to dampen my stay.

100% recommended. Five stars ! If you are looking for the best hotel midtown, this is the one. From the Concierge to the Gold room or the café, everything is beyond expectation, like the breathtaking view of the rooms. This is a very well run hotel. And we will definitely come back !

This hotel was great. From the bed to the shower everything was amazing. We ordered room service for every meal. Breakfast was delicious and very hearty. Lunch what can I say the option were that we could choose something different every single time. Dinner the steak was well seasoned and cooked to our desired wellness. From the door men/women to the housekeeping staff everyone was wonderful. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is exactly why I came to New York to live my Gossip Girl fantasy. They literally what you see online is what you get the personal service. The Concierge team is excellent the way you’re greeted the way you’re arrived the way you received. Everything was absolutely perfect there. There was a minor issue with the food there for breakfast which I think you can skip, but everything else is absolutely superb

Our 16-night stay last month at the Lotte New York Palace was fabulous. The service we received from Utra, who cleaned our room, was outstanding. She made us feel so welcome and went out of her way to assist us. The woman who checked us in was also friendly, as well as the bellmen. The location was perfect and our cathedral view was amazing. We can't wait to return. Thank you Lotte New York Palace!

If you’re lucky enough to get a high up cathedral view then you’re in for a treat, it’s quite spectacular and the city sights are all around wonderful. As for the rest of the stay, the room was good, not packed with complementary amenities and we didn’t use room service, but the location is great for heading out to get coffee or eat nearby. The interior is of course impressive, the staff very helpful, and the bar is also great to experience. Probably the cleanest hotel in the best shape I’ve stayed in, while in NYC.

Honest, no nonsense, and trustworthy, which seems to be a miracle to find in this industry. We have a fairly large and steep roof that needed complete removal and replacement. It surprisingly only took the roofers 2 days to complete. All trash was cleaned up thoroughly and the dumpster was gone the same day they finished. Well done!

The Palace is showing its age and the rooms are not being renovated, making it less and less competitive with other hotels in its price range. The suites in the Towers are far superior. The service is also problematic in the Palace but again, superior in the Towers. In the former, a simple request can take hours to be responded to (like asking for slippers), and room service takes a long time. It’s troubling that there is such a difference between the two since it is still the same hotel and brand. The hotel itself is stunning (the lobby area and breakfast room, courtyard, exterior). This is a landmark hotel but it must raise its standards so as to not fall behind.

What a perfect stay! From check in to great staff hospitality from Randi and David, my girls' pre Christmas stay was magical! If you want to experience an iconic hotel, The Lotte Palace should be your first choice. Our room was spacious with stunning views. The Gold Room made us feel like Hollywood stars and the drinks and tapas served by engaging bartenders added to the ambience of our stay. It's proximity to Rockefeller Center, The Theatre District, and shopping made it the ideal choice. Can't wait to return!

Fabulous place. This was my second time staying, and we booked it for a girl's weekend. The staff was remarkable. They went out of their way at every turn. I left something behind at the hotel when switching rooms. While they could've tracked me down while I was there and didn't, the manager and staff went to great pains to ensure my valuable was returned to me personally delivered well outside NYC where I live. The front desk staff was as quick as they could be, helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The hotel's location is ideal, very close to main attractions, and a heartbeat away from the subways. The gym, sauna and steam room were a wonderful added perk. The breakfast room was gorgeous, a traditional 5* New York venue, with a lovely selection and delightful food. Absolutely go for the Cathedral view if you are from out of town, though the other side is nice too. The rooms are exceptionally large for a Manhattan hotel. I hope to return soon, if not just to use the gym again, and try out Trouble's Trust the hotel bar, which we didn't get to. Thanks to the team of people there who worked to make our stay perfect, and to help right a slip up in exceptional style!

It's the small details that make a Hotel stand out in NYC... though the price range of the rooms are on the high end. It's location alone can save you the headache of transportation costs and getting to popular attractions in the city... 5 stars for the door/security guard offering our friends umbrellas for the short walk to the restaurant we had reservations at. Treating guests of guests with that kind of care is the exact reason we choose this hotel. This place doesn't disappoint. Though not having a bar or way to order drinks while spending time out of the room was a bummer... I understand that the overall health of the staff and fellow guests is paramount... Thanks

We stayed in the standard wing of the Palace Hotel during our visit here a little while back. The room was fine, but this wing of the hotel is definitely due to be freshened up at this point in time. The Towers wing of this hotel has the best and most updated rooms, so keep that in mind if you're booking here. This hotel, in general, is beautiful, having probably the nicest lobby area of any hotel in NYC. If the lobby is not the most impressive looking, it is definitely in the conversation. The location of this property is about as good as it gets as well. Being in the 50s on Madison Avenue, this location puts you within the heart of everything NYC has to offer in Midtown Manhattan.

We booked this hotel because we read about the wonderful Christmas decorations. The decorations were pretty standard. The main attraction was supposed to be the courtyard tree which they did not do this year. Housekeeping and the Bell service were exceptional. The rooms are very outdated. There are no charging ports. Late night dining isn't available at the hotel and there are extremely limited options nearby.

I absolutely love this hotel. The location is excellent and the hotel is beautiful. The staff is super attentive and engaging. I cannot thank Miles enough for making my trip seamless. I reached out before my stay and he went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect and ready for my arrival. I wrote a long review on TripAdvisor, and I noticed that it was shortened, so I want to take a minute to recognize how Miles went above and beyond. This will be my go-to hotel in Manhattan. Thanks again for a lovely stay and cannot wait to return.

Lotte Palace makes Hilton Midtown look like a Motel 8. This hotel is definitely “old money” five star place as opposed to the more modern luxury hotels. But that was perfect for Christmas time, and will do just fine at any time of year! The staff was helpful and friendly. Especially the bellmen were top quality. I was surprised that there was no 24/7 room service, but maybe that’s a COVID thing. The bellmen will run your food delivery orders up to your room, though, so it’s basically the same. I will say that the view of St. Patrick’s, while stuffing, is non-existent during the night. It is not lit up. So if you’re gone all day and expect to have that view pay off in the evening, you’ll be disappointed. All in all, can’t wait to return in January.

We have been coming to this hotel for years and we just love it here. The location is perfect because it is so close to everything. We were able to walk to our plays so easily. The staff is amazing and they were so attentive to our every need. The housekeeping staff was so sweet. The manager Noah was so helpful and ensured that our stay was above and beyond what we could have imagined. Our room was incredible with stunning views of the cathedral and city..so gorgeous at night! We had a fabulous time and we look forward to coming back to the city and staying here at the iconic Lotte New York Palace.

Oh what a wonderful time I had at this hotel and what fabulous memories. The staff were so accommodating. When we arrived (from England) our room was still not ready, so as a good will gesture they compensated us with a meal in their wonderful restaurant (which was delicious). The service was great, and the staff were very friendly. The room was fantastic. We had a great view. It was so spacious and clean. I loved every second of our stay. The bathroom was beautiful also. Everything about the hotel is luxurious, but accessible to all. I loved the atmosphere there, and the overall feel of the place. It was so clean and tidy, and maintained to the highest standard. Overall I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay again.

< Back Lotte New York Palace Absolutely the best experience! From the moment my son and I arrived the hotel, we were greeted with the most impeccable service. We were able to check in early- which was fantastic! The bellman that brought our luggage to the room, inspected all the lighting, tv, ac/heat ... making sure everything was properly working. The room itself was extremely spacious! One of the largest hotel rooms l've ever experienced! After settling in, I needed to run pick up an item at the Nordstrom several blocks from the hotel. When we stepped out front to call an Uber, the doorman arranged for us to use the hotel car service instead. What an unexpected and luxurious surprise! The hotel itself is absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed having cocktails each evening in Trouble's Trust and the Gold Room. Both were EXQUISITE! The macaroons and other pastries from Pomme Palais (located in the lobby area) were also amazing. On our day of departure, the hotel was extremely accommodating by storing our luggage until we were ready to leave for the airport. Our flight wasn't until 8pm so we were able to squeeze more adventures on our final day. We are ready to book our next trip! This hotel definitely made the experience a magical one!

This is a review from someone who lived in NYC for decades. A pretty building and lobby are a mask for bad services and terrible infrastructure design. Nothing worked in our room from sink to window shades. The number of rooms to number and size of elevators cannot possibly pass code. It's got to unsafe that it's 20-30 minute wait for elevator. And no in room or lobby coffee. Just a tiny overpriced store that has a line as long as the elevators. This is a bad hotel that masquerades as a nice one. Do not stay here. There are far better places in the city and we deeply regret we fell for the ruse

Stayed at the Lotte for my wedding hotel block. From start to finish, May Yam was the woman I worked with, and she was AMAZING. All attention to detail and special requests were adhered to and granted and my guests were extremely happy with their stay. Every room was spotless and had cathedral views. Do not hesitate to book here if ever in NYC!

Our stay was wonderful for so many reasons!! The palace itself was absolutely beautiful. The front desk was so wonderful to work with and accommodating. The concierge, Diego, was the best! He gave us excellent recommendations and was so pleasant. He knew exactly what we wanted and found us great spots to go! Last but not least, Maurice who gave us a tour of the show gossip girls and where different shows and scenes were filled made my daughters stay there even more exciting !!! Maurice had wonderful stories to share and was such a joy to be around… To the entire staff at the Palace, we thank you from the bottom Of our hearts for making our stay there as special as it was!! Oh did I forget to say our view of the cathedral from our room was breathtaking!!! I can go on and on!!! It was just perfect!!!!

Shout out to Kevin, Kal and my friends in the Cafe! I truly felt like a Princess here. I got an amazing grand tour, with Grade A commentary from Kevin, the true knight of the Palace! (Thanks to the staff for not judging me for wandering around the soft robe that was provided.) We had a room issue that slightly detracted from my experience. But otherwise, the staff went above and beyond in terms of service. I would definitely consider staying here again. Picture this. Tasty morning coffee with a view of the most beautiful brides in NYC, posing along the grand staircase. What could be a better start to your day than joy?

I didn't stay at the hotel but I loved their elegant old-world-style Rareties Bar as well as all their beautiful Christmas decorations, both indoors and outside, especially in their courtyard that presently oozes with festive Xmas vibes. 👍🎄😍🎄👍 Definitely recommend a visit! 😊

Not worth the cost, I have stayed in nicer hotels for a better price. We stayed in the Towers, supposedly the nicer portion of the hotel. I’ll start with the staff, most of the staff were friendly. Unless they thought you didn’t belong there. I have tattoos, I’m tall and I stand out. I was asked by some staff members about my presence at the hotel when I was looking for a restroom at one point. Made me feel unwelcome by their demeanor. I understand there are many tourists in the city, but if I’m staying at your hotel I would prefer if I wasn’t treated like one. Secondly the room views were great. The room itself not so much. It was supposed to be luxury, but it looked like it hadn’t been used in months and we were just thrown in there. Dusty lampshades, chipping paint on dressers, cracks in the paint on the ceiling, dingy shower curtain, dirty tiles, and completely water damaged door baseboards that actually fell off when I opened the bathroom door. Yes I informed the staff, they did not move our room, they sent someone up to quickly patch it up. Poor fix. The location is great, centrally located. Good pizza nearby. Easy to access taxi. Their car service is unavailable 99% of the time. Bellman and doorman are incredible.

In full disclosure, we did not stay here. We only passed through during the Christmas celebration. The open venue with Christmas trees and people everywhere is fantastic. It is absolutely beautiful and is great. It keeps it open for everyone to visit. A true Jim in New York.

I had a great stay at this hotel for my business trip. The room was spacious, opulent and comfy. Waking up each morning to a beautiful sunset and the gorgeous skyline was an amazing experience! Highly recommended for its accessibility to all things in Midtown Manhattan

Most gorgeous courtyard and tree! It's such a magical time of year to be at the Palace! The rooms in the tower are spacious and well appointed! Best view of the top of St Patrick's Cathedral.. It's shaped like a cross! Excellent service. Just wish they had more restaurants but so many are a skip away! Love the Palace...and the lobby is Instagram heaven!

  • 4/5 Travel And D. 1 year ago on Google
This is classic luxury, beautiful rooms and decor however a little overpriced and missing a few mod cons as well as some better friendlier service. The view from the rooms in the towers is stunning and the marble and gold decor is classy and traditional without feeling dated. No coffee making facilities in the room and it's around 20$, yes TWENTY to get one from room service. Also no usb chargers or bathtub. Having 2 slow old lifts for a hotel of this size is also madness. We regularly waited 5 minutes for the lift which was very frustrating. When I went to check in it took them 30 minutes to find my booking. They left me waiting this entire time stood in the lobby, it was demeaning and well below what I would expect of a 5* hotel. They didn't even offer me to sit next door.

Great hotel, amazing location. Pros: -Clean -Very professional and helpful staff -Big rooms -Huge bathrooms -Lots of toiletries -Pet friendly (small dogs) -Great access to amazing experiences -Close to so many places, including diners, restaurants, subways, shopping, bars, Rockefeller Center, etc. -Incredible views -Very accommodating Cons: -Lack of control of the thermostat to make it colder than 68 degrees, it always feels too warm. -Low water pressure in showers (inconsistent) -Toilets aren't the best. -Not many elevators (2 for the Towers, 3 for the Palace) -Hard beds -Expensive -Broken shades -Had a few times when housekeeping showed up and tried to enter the room when the do not disturb sign was on -Lack of food and drinks in the room due to COVID (understandable).

I stayed here last week and was actually amazed at the lack of basic safety measures any hotel should have! The bath tubs are slippery and there is no grab bar. So anyone who is not great at balancing on a slippery surface will have a great fall. They a very lovely staircase but it does not have adequate railings to hold when someone is taking the stairs unless you are looking at rolling down. This hotel is only for those who are not with frail heart and still has the ability to fall and rise!

  • 2/5 Sebastian W. 2 years ago on Google
Unfortunately for the prices they charge the hotel itself leaves a lot to be desired. In need of some serious renovations, despite being upgraded to a room with free wifi and view which was nice- the toilet and bath were dirty upon arrival. Very outdated controls in the rooms (light switches, no USB ports, old TVs, etc.). Perhaps the most eye-watering was the $45 bagel which would also have $14 delivery fee and 18% gratuity tacked on for room service. Only great thing here is the location, but honestly save your money and stay elsewhere.

Fantastic Midtown location. Goldroom cocktail bar is exquisite, especially sitting at the bar chatting to friendly bar staff - measures are generous. Spacious Cathedral bedrooms are exceptionally clean and refreshed each day. Welcoming front of house staff. Large, well-equipped gym overlooks cathedral.
