If I could give zero stars I would. This place is awful. We were told incorrect information about parking, and hung up on multiple times on our way there. Then when we got our room we were disgusted. It was mid construction, bedsheets had hair all over them and were gross. When we went downstairs to voice our frustration, we were met with a condescending employee that wanted to argue. We were told to wait until the manager came the next day. We agreed and went back up to start our vacation. That was when we found feces on the bathroom door. We went down and decided to just get a new room and move on, not even bother arguing with this employee because he was rude and impossible to work with. That’s when the employee slammed our new room key on the desk and said “How did you get S**T on the bathroom door.” He said this TWICE! In the lobby in front of multiple patrons and employees. Totally unprofessional and we expect a refund and the employee to be in trouble for insulting/embarrassing us, the hotel and himself. This place is a joke. I could go on forever and we have a whole list of this place and pictures. Ice machine and vending machines don’t work and that is small compared to what’s happening here. I’ve stayed in better rooms for $80 a night. Also if you look at the feces picture…it’s dry. He must have assumed we wanted a better room. Joke was on him when we actually took a smaller room and bed. I contacted the GM four days ago and have yet to even receive a response.

**Update I would avoid this hotel if at all possible. They have now charged out card for $70 with no explanation. We've tried calling multiple times and we either get no answer from their "financial department" or the lady at the front desk answers the phone, listened to our question, said not a single word and hung up on my husband. We left messages but haven't heard back. Probably have to dispute it with our bank. (And luckily we have video and pictures from when we first checked in and you can see everything that was already broken) The one good thing about this hotel is the great location and was cheaper than everything else in the same area. It was dirty, everything was broken, fire alarm was missing, the shower wouldn't drain, some of the lights didn't turn on, and the water was cold on the last day. The elevator was extremely slow and finicky. The man who cleaned our room every day was incredibly nice and did a good job, but everyone else that worked during the day was rude. If you want a great location but can't spend much, this would work. If you have more to spend, go somewhere else.

AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS. The 5-star reviews and pictures are all fake. Reviews are from bots and the pictures make the room look so much nicer and spacious than they actually are. My room was smaller than a closet with barely any room after you get off the bed. There was mold on the bathroom and bugs crawling around as well. Service was terrible and wifi doesn't even work. Don't waste your money or time here.

The room is a good size, there is wifi available. The hotel is in a great location. The staff are very good and there's pretty much all you need, the only thing missing was a mini fridge but it's not a biggie. The bed was comfortable and the shower was working well. I do recommend this hotel if you want to stay here on a budget.

The hate on this place has gone WAY too far! If you are trying to spend about $150 a night in midtown Manhattan, this is the place. The location is absolutely amazing. Close to Times Square and Broadway. The rooms are a little small, but why are you in your room anyway? The employees were friendly and got us checked in with no issues. There are restaurants on both sides of the property and a nice pub next door. Can't see how it could be any better. If you want to stay at the Plaza, stay there. But on a budget, this is the place.

This place is disgusting, There was a bag with pills open, dirty tissues and other random things in a bag on our table upon arrival. The bed is smaller than a queen, yet when the front desk is notified they don't care, they told me stay or leave. When leaving to return home we moved a side table to clean our area up and noticed a very distinct blood like stain on the carpet. This place is a joke. Only good for location and honestly saving the money is not worth the hotel risk, our son is immune compromised and this runs a risk for us now. Oh and forget about them ever calling or you calling them. It is an absolute joke of a hotel.

Wish I could give zero stars! This hotel was horrible and one of the worse experiences ever! My husband and I arrive to New York for our honeymoon and we’re so excited to arrive to our hotel and begin our week long adventure in New York. Well when we checked in and go up to our room we opened the door and the first thing we noticed was that the room was far too small and run down! It was nothing like what we had seen in the pictures! ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES HERE!!! The latch on the door was loose, the furniture was beat down, no refrigerator like stated in there amenities, the A/C unit didn’t work, the shower had no door or anything dividing it from the toilet or the rest of the bathroom so everything for wet when I used the shower. There was no mirror in the bathroom either and worse of all the bed was way way way too small!!! We had booked a room with a queen bed, and I know what a queen bed looks like and that was not it! We both decided that staying there was just not going to be a good experience for us, we stayed the night because it was too late but checked out first thing the next morning and stayed in a Hilton around the corner that was perfect!! DON’T stay here!!!

This hotel is horrible. The website is HIGHLY misleading. It's old, run down, rooms are super small even for NYC standards. The shower had an infestation of fruit flies. The heating system didn't work. They NEVER answered the phone at all. There were no washcloths in the bathrooms. There is no water at all to drink in the room. And don't even get me started on the elevator situation. People were waiting over 20 minutes to get in. Thank goodness we were on the 4th floor, so we just took the stairs the whole time. There was also some sort of SUPER loud mechanical sound going on that made incredibly hard to sleep.

This was my first stay in New York, so I don't know the norm for hotels in the area, but the Gallivant wasn't a great experience. Check in was fairly easy, but from then on, things weren't great. The room was extremely stuffy the entire weekend and in the middle of 30 degree temps, we were left leaving out windows open, which became very noisy while sleeping. There were gnats all over the bathroom, and dirty/ripped sheets. Along with this, the elevators were a nightmare. We were on the 6th floor and were forced to use the stairs almost the entire weekend (Including carrying all of our luggage for check out) because one of the elevators was constantly being used for staff/trash, so only one of the elevators was being used for the entire hotel. The one positive of the trip was location... Within walking distance, you can find so many things to do. Other than that, I would mostly stay away from this hotel.

The place was very run down! The entry doors were broke. Most of the doors had caution tape on them! The employees were not that welcoming! The elevator sounded like it was going to break at any moment! The elevator was super small and had a smell to it! The hotel room and bath room was very small. The floor in the hotel room was very disgusting! It was like they don’t ever mop! The night stands were nasty as well. I wiped them down with a Lysol wipe and the wipe was brown. They didn’t provide any face clothes! The AC unit didn’t work. The vent inside the AC unit was very disgusting! The sheets on the bed had spots all on them. 90% of the time when we called down to the front desk they wouldn’t answer. When we finally got ahold of someone about the nasty sheets, they told us we had to come down to the front desk to get more. The ones provided to us were just as nasty! The TV wouldn’t turn off with the remote. I really don’t see how they are still in business! Their establishment is horrible to the Time Square area!

The worst hotel I have stayed in. Moved to try to find a cooler room! It was always 82 to 84 degrees. Unbearable to sleep, window did not open and tv was broken . It took over 24 to fix the TV. Also another treat! No wash or hand towels. Crazy place

Must agree with the other 1 star reviews. Went through four rooms before settling on room number 5 within the first 90 minutes of check in. If you are looking for basic amenities like wash cloth, hand towels, WiFi, working thermostat, and lights that work, you won’t find it here. Front desk actually told me that I will not be happy with any of the rooms in the hotel if I want these things. The maid staff is very friendly and attentive but can’t get hand towels because there aren’t any. I suppose being near Times Square means there will be noise at night but if you’re looking to get sleep here, lower your expectations on that as well. Really, look elsewhere.

Great value for the price! I stay in NYC very often, and wanted to save a few bucks this time. Got a great deal at the Gallivant. Stay two nights. The front desk was not that friendly, but not that rude. The room was clean and comfortable, bathroom seemed fresh, and the air conditioner worked. Note that the air conditioning was very aged smelled funky and was not ice cold. But certainly cool the room just fine. Brand new TV with many channels. The elevators were very very VERY slow. I don't know what all the negative reviews are about, you need to adjust your expectations. I've stayed in nightmare hotels for way more money. This is not one of those. I will definitely be back.

I stayed here for 1 night. It was a huge mistake. The room was small and the furniture old and damaged. There were several fruit flies coming out of the shower drain. Barely had hot water. The entrance has caution tape with broken doors. The bar downstairs is like a night club with blasting music till 4am. Homeless people hanging outside. Worst hotel I ever booked. Only good thing is the location. Never again.

I genuinely don't understand why this place has a bad reputation. We've been regulars for a few years, and it's been consistently fantastic! Maybe it's because of our loyalty, but our recent stay was exceptional. The location is unbeatable, just a block away from Times Square and in the heart of everything. The room had a brand-new AC unit, a lifesaver on a scorching summer day. Parking was easy and right across the street so my car and I felt secure. The front desk team was incredible, offering great tips. We even brought a flexible plastic cooler for our drinks and food storage as they don’t have a fridge, which was a smart move! My only gripe is the pressure of the cleaning crew during checkout rushing people to get out so they can clean lol, but that's nitpicking. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! … oh yea the ice maker, do yourself a favor and bring a big bag. You have to understand a lot of people are there to party and the ice runs out quick so if you have a big bag that should help it last all night :)

This place was by far the most disgusting hotel I’ve stayed at with the worst service. If I could post the pictures of the room I would but it was covered in bodily fluids of some sort and hairs. Looks like they didn’t even bother cleaning up our room before we went. We were told the first night of the stay that we didn’t get our original room and that we would be accommodated correctly the night after but when we went down to the front end to change our rooms no one knew what we were talking about the night after. Felt very scammed and not accommodated. The only reason you might wanna stay is for the location. Right down the street from Times Square but it’s not worth it for the horrible service and disgusting rooms.

The satisfaction of your stay ultimately comes down to realistic expectations. There are several superficial maintenance concerns; however, the price for the location is good. Staff were pleasant and professional. Negatively, hotel was missing some basic amenities (i.e., towels, lock box, fridge, and microwave). Overall, this is a value hotel in an ideal location.

We had 4 adults and 2 kids and stayed in the family room which is up on the highest floor, 15. It has a nice view of the city and has 2 comfortable queen beds along with 2 bunk twin beds. Not a ton of space but it makes the most of it and the rooms were clean and the staff were very nice and went above and beyond to make sure we were accommodated. The room didn't have enough outlets though and one was broken. I'm not sure if you can control the AC or not, which I saw was a gripe in some other reviews, because it was pumping out cold air and had the room at a comfortable temp for us so I didn't even try to mess with it. I didn't hear any noise from any other rooms but they may have heard us because we have 2 loud kids. Honestly, this place was a great deal, around $240, and the location couldn't be better. I highly recommend it.

Positives…location. Great coffee shop across the street. Not all of the staff were unpleasant as many of the reviews indicate. Aziz, the housekeepers, Billy and Mario…all kind. Bed was comfortable. Negatives…too numerous to list. They have a linen issue. Front desk said delivery was late. Housekeeping said washer was broken. No pillow cases until 9pm and struggles entire weekend. Another friend moved rooms twice due to AC issues. Our room was awful. Holes in the wall, paint desperately needed, drain flies when the shower came on, shower handle hanging by a thread, so much dust, mold on bathroom door and in shower. Elevators…awful. You expect it to a degree in an older NYC hotel but heard a couple of times from the desk “Housekeepers, release the elevators”. Huh??!? One evening after a show our party came in with donuts. The 6 of us went to sit at the tables to eat them and talk before going up. Antonio stopped us and said, “This is closed, you aren’t allowed here”. We had sat there the night before but can’t now? Someone tried to explain that we were guests but he didn’t care. So donuts were eaten on the couch that sat on the carpet. Ridiculous and just horrid guest service. Too many issues to return, sadly enough. The newer owners need to step it up and put some money into this place because the price point will eventually not be enough to get people in the door.

Attractive location at an affordable price. Although the accommodations were acceptable, what mainly struck me was the staff. They are competent and will go above and above to address any issues or queries you may have. I immediately felt at ease in the hotel and got to meet the pleasant employees, many of whom have incredible tales to offer. Definitely staying here on my future trip to New York City. Sincerely, Jonathan

DO NOT BOOK! this place is DISGUSTING. If I could give 0 stars I would. NOTHING like the pictures. Barely clean sheets… we are choosing to believe they were clean… electrical sockets half pulled out of the wall with the plates half missing- super loud music from the bar attached to the hotel which is extremely unnecessary and makes it hard to sleep - no hand towels or face cloths. Peeling wall paper- uneven flooring- lights constantly flickering in the room - elevators are slow and small. Hallways are narrow- hotel room doors barely shut or seem like they lock safety. Please save yourselves and do not book. This hotel needs to be shut down.

Perfect hotel for a trip to Manhattan. Jose took care of us, we had a delayed flight and tickets to a show. He was accommodating, friendly and understanding. We checked in our hotel room in within a few minutes. It was a perfect location, walking distance to all the shows/time square. They have a really fun club/bar attached to the hotel that played really good music. The decor has a trendy city vibe. The staff is friendly, the hotel room is comfy and clean. The price was reasonable. I would highly recommend staying here.

Pleasantly Surprised! After reading the reviews of the Gallivant hotel I was hesitant to stay there but my husband and I were very pleased with our room and the hospitality afforded us by the staff. I will definitely return! Dont believe the negative reviews! Our room was clean and our stay very good! Thank you Haziz for your wonderful service!

After reading the reviews I was weary of arriving at the hotel, however thankfully our experience was positive. The first night we were in a back facing room with some kind of industrial space behind, that made a constant noise all night, meaning we got little sleep. In the morning we asked to change room, and were given the option of several rooms until we found one that suited us. I would say the rooms are in need of attention in terms of decor, however they were clean and very comfy beds. The location is ideal, right in times square, and in walking distance to all major attractions.

The rooms were clean, and I like how close it was to Times Square. But to be honest, I've stayed in much better hotels, but you get what you pay for. The elevators are slow, the people at the front desk are decent, and they don't offer breakfast, so make sure to take this information into consideration.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS We checked in and checked out 10 minutes later. The girl at the front desk didn’t even look at us so I’m not sure she even knew we were the same people who had just checked in. If she would’ve asked us why we were leaving so early this is what we would’ve said: The hotel is basically a scam due to the false advertisement of pictures on the website. The rooms are SMALL and I mean you can’t even lay a suitcase out on the ground. The room was dark, dusty, smelt like stale cigarettes & looked like it hadn’t even been swept. Not even just the rooms but the whole hotel. Even if she would have offered us a cleaner or bigger room we would have declined. Bad vibes. Bad hospitality. Bad experience - and we were only there for 10 minutes Super disappointed. Find somewhere else.

Location is just off times square. Note though, there is a nightclub attached to it that is a bit dodgy. Some unsavoury characters knocking around outside and on one night, there were a few men hanging about who were quite intimidating. People from the club stand outside directly in front of the hotel entrance smoking, hanging out. For a New York standard hotel, I'd class this as budget standard in terms of the room, but costing more due to location. Would not recommend it for families. Cleaning staff were super friendly but the reception staff weren't the best. No safety deposit boxes in the room. Shower was a bit grimey. Beds super comfy. Overall, not a bad stay but there are better standard hotels with similar price range in and around times square.

This hotel was very dated. The rooms looked nothing like the website. The only good thing was the location. The rooms were small, it got extra hot in the room and we put the temp on 60 and it was still too hot. The bathroom had a band-aid on the door and it made a whinning noise from the light. Caution tape on the front door and a lot of exposed electrical wires. One time we came back to our room and hotel room door was open and I know I closed it. Luckily, I took anything I thought was valuable with me. They don't have washcloths, so you either need to bring your own or go buy loofahs. If you are looking for a location close to Times Square this is perfect if you don't care about anything else but..............................I don't recommend.

Don’t stay at this hotel !! We had the worst experience ever. We were welcomed with dirty sheets, bed bugs, broken heating blasting aircon in the middle of the winter and very small ‘Queen size’ beds. we were lied to by staff when asking to switch rooms as ‘nothing was available’ but all of a sudden a room under ‘construction being painted’ became available at 1am. It wasn’t, the walls were chipped and the bathroom and room was filthy. The staff were no help in person, and they don’t respond to your emails….. only good thing is the location.

Tiny room with one dilapidated dresser, no space for toiletries either in the bathroom or bedroom, and dirty walls. I stayed here a few years ago and it was small but clean and trendy. Now walls need paint, furniture needs replacing. Okay for one person but not two.

Complete agreement with other reviews here. What a load of rubbish this place is. The only positive was the location and the friendly gentlemen looking after luggage. Apart from that, I would say it was easily one of my worst hotel stays ever.

I arrived on December 14th at 6pm and was poorly attended to by the man at reception. We had problems with my payment and he didn't even bother to help. Also, the rooms are very different from the photos (small and old). Our shower only got hot during the day and at night we had to take a cold shower. We heard people shouting and singing in the hotel hallway several times. In short, don't believe the photos and information they provide. At least the cleaning was good.

Had two terrible nights’ sleep at the Gallivant. Despite turning off the thermostat, the heat would not stop coming out of the radiator making the room incredibly hot. The window was broken so I propped it open with a tissue box. Front desk didn’t open my calls but were able to resolve the problem the next day. By the evening the heating was inexplicably back on, but front desk told me maintenance had gone home and no other rooms were available. No Do Not Disturb signs were provided and so I was awakened by loud knocking from the cleaning staff at 8am.

  • 1/5 Jacob S. 2 years ago on Google
The Gallivant is a hotel for someone who just needs a bed for the night. The price they charge is nowhere near the quality that is offered at this institution. Our AC unit was broken during our stay and the staff did not attend to this issue, through our three nights, it was constantly freezing and uncomfortable. The bathroom was so small that the door couldn't even open entirely without hitting the toilet. The bathroom shower was missing an entire glass pane, there were hinges on the wall, but no door. The phone in the room didn't work and there was damage on the wall outside the bathroom due to poor ventilation, after all, the bathroom fan also didn't operate. In addition to the subpar quality of the rooms, there were also excessive hidden fees in the pricing of the hotel. There were over $200.00 worth of hidden fees (not including taxes) that were not advertised in booking.com, which is were we booked the room. If you're looking for a bed and shelter with college friends, the place is fine. However, if you have a family or a romantic partner that you're trying to enjoy NYC with, this place is not for you. I would advise to look somewhere else. Don't fall for the trap because it's near "Times Square", it's not worth it.

The majority of the people who work in this hotel are not welling to help you. Some of them are not friendly and the room was too too small! The only thing that deserves for me to rate them two stars is their location that is near to the Times Square. Go and find another hotel to spend good time NYC!

Horrible stay. If i could make 0 stars i would. I would not recommend. $50 early check in fee on top of them not holding luggage for their customers is just ridiculous. Rooms are really tiny too. Great location, literally on Times Square, but honestly I'd never stay here again. Very trashy place. Rooms are dirty. Paint chipped on the wall. A hole in the bathroom door. Windows in the one of rooms showed a lot of trash outside on the side of the hotel. Hallway had a very weird smell. And their is no room service. Hotel was $400.00 for one night which ruined my entire vacation. Hotel should only be 20.00 a night. I would compare to a motel 6

Booked a room thru a third party site. The pictures displayed was nothing like the rooms I received. I paid for a King bed with views. The room I got was not clean. There was toilet paper in the toilet and what looked like bloody fingerprints near the windowsill. I went downstairs and advised the front desk staff. I was then given a Queen bed with a view of the building across the street and scaffolding the room was facing the street and I could hear all the vehicles and their music as if my window was wide open. The rooms are old and not worth the $250 I paid.

There was a USED crack pipe in our room when we checked in and went into the room. The room was 80% clean- given that it was NYC and midtown, I gave them the benefit of the doubt. But A USED CRACK PIPE? Comical. Also, I reported it to the front desk immediately to TWO different people and no one got it out of our room. Then, I told the front desk AGAIN to please get it out, no one got it out. 30 hours later- someone finally got it out. Honestly, might have been an employees (the cleaners) if it was left in the room.... When we checked out, someone took my name, number, and email down for the manager to get back to me and no one did (it's been a week). Since my stay, I've called twice and no answer or a response.

Room was nice and ac worked. Super close to the shows we went to and lots of places to visit and eat nearby. Would have been 5 stars but the hotel lobby ac didn’t work and neither did the ac in the elevators. So coming it from a long humid day of walking, it was pretty miserable trying to get in and out of the hotel as it was so hot in there. A couple of evenings we opted to stay in just so we wouldn’t have to deal with that. Vending machines didn’t work or were not stocked and went to several floors trying to get drinks. Staff and housekeepers were very nice. Overall works stay again. Just get that ac fixed!

Make sure to use ʜoᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking any stay. This website will compare countless booking websites and typically will have prices much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This is an excellent hotel for an affordable stay in the Times Square area. They have family rooms w bunk beds, nicely sized singles and premium rooms. The staff is what makes this place shine. One morning the shower handle broke off, I’m an incredibly strong person so it was all my fault 😂. Told the staff, went to breakfast and came back and it was fixed. Can’t ask for more than that. They also offer early and late check out for an affordable fee for those arriving early or leaving late. I’ll definitely be staying here again.

Location was good. Room was small & they considered it an “upgrade”. We traveled in a group so in 3/4 rooms The A/C barely worked (it was hot). The hotel in general is hot so staying during the summer may not he ideal. Customer service was great. The room was clean. Somethings were just misguided, i still enjoy my stay!

I stayed there for my birthday for the end of June for around 7 nights. The hotel is completely different to how the pictures online look and the rooms were so small too. We had to change rooms 2 times and the first room’s toilet just didn’t flush at all. The rooms also had a strong odour of weed and just kept hitting us in the face. The amenities advertised were not in the room. We had no fridge or anything to keep our beverages cool. The housekeeping would just enter the rooms and clean even if we had do not disturb sign on. They would knock on the door at 8am and ask if we needed the room cleaned like we didn’t have a do not disturb on our door. The AC ran extremely high there was no way to adjust it and would be freezing all night long. Also since i have left we still haven’t received our security deposit back and wont even send an email to confirm my refund. The only reason this is getting 2 stars is because of the location which was right next to Times Square

Stayed 4/17-23/2022 for Springbreak! Very close to everything! Rooms were nice, decent and clean! Staff were nice and friendly! We got 2 rooms for the price of one in other hotels that I checked! We had a coffee maker in our room which was all that we needed… not a fan of microwave and refrigerators (weren’t in our room) since family always want fresh food… lots of food around NYC to try! Bathrooms were clean! We slept in through the night after long walks exploring the city during the day! May have smelled weed along the hallways but weed’s all over NYC y’all… it’s legal 😂 didn’t bother us! Definitely will go back in this hotel!!! ❤️ EXCELLENT! ❤️ Saved lots of money in this hotel to spend on our tours and food!

The hotel overall was very nice. The rooms were clean and the location was great. Very close to Times Square which made it very convenient. If you stay on a weekend it is a little loud at night if you are in a room facing Times Square, but it didn't bother us very much. The only major downfall is the gym. You walk through a service area to get to it and it is rather small. The treadmill also was not working. I would recommend staying at this hotel.

This hotel is a great option for anyone wanting to stay in NYC in an amazing location. The rooms were small but comfortable. Unfortunately we did not have a thermostat in the room so we could not access the AC which made for an uncomfortable and hot few nights. We certainly enjoyed the location as it’s right near Times Square, the subway station and short walk to most major attractions.

Perfect location, but other than that nothing else good to say. At first they gave us a tiny little room that smelled badly of smoke and from which you could hear the noise of a mass of air conditioners right in front of the window. We asked to change it and they kindly did. The second bedroom was spacious and overlooked the front of the hotel. I didn't like the house keeping, before 8 am they knocked on all the rooms to ask which ones to clean. I stayed for a week and the sheets were never changed, my slippers were filthy, i got to throw them away because the floor was never cleaned and we were never given the full set of towels. Only one lift out of 3 was available and for 16 floors it is not enough. I cannot recommend this hotel.

Only plus is that it’s in a good location, close to wherever you would want to go in Times Square. But I was traumatized by my most recent stay.. HVAC was broken so it was super hot in the room. Opened the window for awhile but that let all the New York smells in lol. There was hair (not mine) on the toilet seat, as well as 2 roaches that I saw on the bathroom floor. Worst part was that my room happened to have a club or something right outside, so my bed was literally shaking from the music until 3am. I also had an issue where I was charged incorrectly. The guy in the front was extremely rude and dismissive. Will never stay here again.

i stayed here for 2 nights w a friend this week and initially we were pleasantly surprised by the lobby and the look of the room. but then almost immediately we noticed that the heat was not working. we called the front desk 3 times within the first hour of our stay and they said they would have the engineer come take a look all 3 times. it quickly became obvious that no one was going to come. we had to head out for a reservation and otw out we talked to front desk in person and they gave us the same response as they did on the phone. we hoped when we came back the heat would be working but the only thing they could offer us was extra blankets. then finally we decided to call one more time later that day and that’s when they say that the heat doesn’t turn on until 11pm. lo and behold 11pm comes around and it never turns on. that first night we were shaking in bed from the low temperatures. the next day we continued to complain throughout the day to no avail. and on top of that housekeeping had taken away our extra blankets. come night time the manager told us that they had no extra blankets and of course the heat still hadn’t turned on. this is clearly completely unacceptable hotel management and was a huge detriment to my stay in new york during these 2 days were temperatures were 30-40 degrees. this was the most major disservice but on top of these there were many more inconveniences (eg. no extra large towels, no hand towels) that would lead me to advise against anyone staying at this hotel.

location was good if you want to be close to times square hustle and bustle. staff was very nice. most importantly, pictures are deceiving. room was OK but small and outdated. no temperature control or working thermostat. windows only open a tiny bit. lights flickered in the bathroom. i’ve machine was broken. room phone did not work. woke up at 3am on a 50° night to very hot heat pumping out of the heater. we had to go down to the front desk to inquire. they said there was nothing they could do until 7am. the club next door is open until 4am every night and was blasting music when we went down about the heat. the lobby also smells like cigarettes. not recommended.

The hotel has a fantastic location but it is sad that the owners let it deteriorate to this stage. Hot water, power socket issues and air condition units were not in working order. The Hotel owners should take care of their guest by ensuring all these basic needs are taken care. I hope they will have these issues fixed asap!
