DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY STAYING HERE!! Waited for over an hour to get keys to our room after 3:00pm check in time. Lobby staff was rude, extremely slow and had no sense of hospitality training or customer service. Lobby was dirty and old looking, walls and lobby furniture full of stains and finger prints, main stairwell rails chipped with exposed wood. Rooms, old and need a modern update! No coffee maker as stated on website, fridge was dirty and had items still in it from previous guest. Sheets on bed were such quality is that I felt like I was sleeping on paper. Bathroom, shampoo and lotion dispensers above sink and in shower were all empty and bottle nozzle was flitty. Notified staff, nothing was done to correct room issues, no on duty manager was working the three days of our stay to assist guests. We contacted manager via phone that lobby staff provided and the voicemail box was full and disconnects you each time you call. Lobby staff could not give a name of the manager (didn't know) or what company managed the hotel! By far the worst hotel experience in the USA we have had.

Fantastic location and price are reasons for the four stars. Room and beds were comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms and hallway are carpeted, so like any other hotel as such, one should expects to experience musty smells. Bathroom was dated. There's a reason hotels in this area are 3 or 4 times higher in price so keep expectations in check. Very convenient parking across the street for $40 per day if you have parking ticket validated by hotel...which is a good deal for this location. Take advantage of hot drink machine in lobby. Will definitely be back!

The pictures on the website are very misleading . First of the hotel is going through some type of renovation, which should have noted prior to booking. This hotel is not as advertised. It is close to everything, but the hotel needs some major work. It was rust in the tub, and the toilet made noise after flushing. Almost like the tank never filled up. It was no breakfast option at the hotel, or microwave downstairs. Hotel staff was friendly and tried to be accommodating, but this didn’t make up for anything. Either change the pictures on the website or just be truthful about the accommodations. It has the potential to be a nice hotel, but need some repairs.

It's not your typical "5 star" hotel.... but it was very clean, the bed was comfortable and the wifi was great. I have no complaints. And for the price in THAT location--- we are very happy. We were able to walk to most anything we needed and not far from wonderful views! They were also friendly-- from the desk to the housekeepers. We will definitely try to stay here again when we return to this beautiful city.

Great location to Times Square, broadway, most the areas’ sightseeing. Get what you pay for hotel. Affordable but not great. Rooms were average, carpet rips, signs of bathroom mold. Rooms did not have hotel/channel guide. Some outlets did not work, 1 television did not work (don’t go to NY to watch tv in a hotel I know but should still work). Coffee machine in lobby is wonderful.. when it’s filled with ingredients to make coffee. Staff members were friendly and helpful.

This Midtown hotel provides shelter for folks who don't have a home. The staff at this place is quite nice, while some of them really knows what it's like to not have a place to stay and live too. And the courteous staff really does assist those who are seeking permanent residence within their NYC county of choice, along with other programs that NYC/NYS offers too.

The pictures are very misleading. I expected a nice, modern, clean place. Instead you find rundown old and smelly place. The staff makes the impression of being annoyed by the people and not at all communicative. The coffee machine was out of order for the whole time we stayed there, the drinking water dispenser was very run down. Good thing, the rooms in the back-building were really quiet (no street-noise). The location is the reason for the price, in other areas you would get a clean and modern room for that price.

The hotel is a little bit old but the location is excellent with reasonable prices. Staff is kind. The rooms are clean. The hotel is an excellent option for families. The reason why I don’t give 5 star is because I had some troubles with my credit card at the moment of the check in and I don’t know why so far. After this I paid many things in NY with this credit card. In that moment I did not receive any other option from the woman in the lobby. Fortunately, I had with me an additional debit card. If not I don know what I would do. By the way, I would return if I can.

As of Labor day weekend 2021 I do not recommend booking this hotel. The staff is nonetheless the worse, lies after lies about room availability and no hospitality at all. You can get an all inclusive resort in Cancun for the same price and have an amazing experience. We had reservation 2 weeks prior coming and when we went to check in they said rooms were getting ready. 45 min later, there was over 25 people on the lobby hearing the same lies. We started pressuring them about our rooms, they said we didn’t have our room anymore because it wasn’t available and we would have to wait more... Then other people that had the same issue got in front of us with a room, they went to check before booking and they found cockroach on the bathrooms, DONT GO THERE! There’s about 5-6 hotels within that location that are wayyy better.

We spent 4 nights and everything was perfect. Just one thing, they dont have coffee maker in the room, we had to bring ours. Shower was really hot, so after a cold day outside, that was nice! Front desk helped us with everything, no waiting time, and no extra charge for an early check in. They stored our bags because our flight was late at night, no charge for that. Great location in the center of times square. So we will come back for sure ! They made us have a beautiful stay !

Location & room were exactly what we needed! Restaurants, bars, subways were easy & convenient to get to. Room was clean, staff was polite, & very accommodating. This was our 1st time in New York, given the chance id come back to this hotel :)

I was planning to arrive before the check in. My husband tried to call 4 day before, but no one answered. We thought that we could pay some extra, and come inside before 3pm. But we had to wait 3 hours, with our 3 years old son. The service at the front desk was really poor. The guy that helped us with our bags is really nice and helpful.

Booked this hotel for a weekend in NYC for my daughter’s 16th birthday through booking.com after my husband tried to reserve the room directly with the hotel but we were told by the hotel to book through booking.com. Once we arrived after a 5 hour drive we were told that our reservation was cancelled and they didn’t have any more rooms. The woman behind the counter was incredibly rude and told us it was booking.com’s fault. The gentlemen that tried to check in after us had the exact same problem. When my husband called booking.com they informed us that the hotel would not honor our reservation and the hotel was responsible for the cancellation. Either way, I would never book this hotel again nor would I book with booking.com. Go elsewhere.

Let’s be clear: as I leave in Boston my husband and myself travel every 3 month to New York. This hôtel is one of the best that we stay at. Very CLEAN ! Room are small but I rather have a small and clean room then a big and dirty room. Would definitely recommend. Oh and I forgot: perfect location :)

Amazing location. It’s off a quieter (for New York) street and close to everything you want to visit. The front desk staff were polite and helpful. The hotel itself was clean and felt safe. I loved the quintessential old New York feel to the building, especially the old-timey mail shoots going from floor to floor. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. A great find for the price. Will probably stay here again on my next visit.

The photos that we saw online we’re not the same as when you walk into the building. The room that we booked double queen beds was not available when we got there the woman at the desk said I would be having two adjoining queen size rooms but when we got upstairs they were two rooms non-adjoining which made it uncomfortable for three females traveling together one of us had to be alone. The room was nothing like the one that I had booked via the pictures on the Internet. The water backed up in the bathtub when you took a shower. The one outlet did not work. The microwave was dirty. I was very disappointed walking into the Hotel expecting it to look one way and it looking completely different. I would not stay here again.

Have stayed here many times over many years. Always had a perfect experience. Room clean and comfortable. Staff helpful. Many there year after year showing they liked working there. Great location to walk to so many places as well as near subway.

Not only was this an awful experience, but it left me stranded without a hotel for 6 hours. Upon landing in New York with 3 other girls, we arrived at the hotel and there were about 20 people in the lobby. They told all of these people AFTER arriving in New York that they had no rooms for us. This would have been useful information hours ago when they knew of the situation. Instead, they allowed families and groups of people to be stranded in New York with no hotel. We were forced to book an extremely expensive hotel across the street with only one bed for four people because every other hotel was booked out at this point. Today I got a charge for 450$ for a room we didn't stay in, and they had told us they ran out of? There is no one to get in contact with, so unfortunately we are having to contact someone legally about the issues.

This is the worst experience I ever had staying in NYC. No WiFi, and called to address it. They didn’t care. Ice machine didn’t work, refrigerator didn’t work, room smelled like cigarettes. This was something out of a horror movie. I thought I was on a prank show. Then I tried to get in touch with manager, and they called back week later and offered us $40 credit, from a $230 stay. I will never recommend. DONT EVER STAY HERE

No ventilation in our bathroom so there was black mold growing. Water took forever to get warm and then was extremely hot. Public restrooms in lobby and by gym were disgusting and inoperable most of the time. They charged us the full amount on the first or second day. Coffee machine is great!

This place is a great value- not luxury but it is clean, has a friendly staff and the location is about as good as you can get. Just a few steps to Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center and Empire State building. Only issues we saw were a couple cosmetic flaws in paint/wallpaper of the room, and randomly losing water pressure in the shower for a couple seconds. But to save $60 per night over other hotels, I would still stay here again. Also note that there is no view out the windows- it is just the side of another building .

We had an incredible time at this hotel. It was clean, had amazing access to everything you would want to see when you come to NYC for a Broadway show...smack dab in the middle of everything! The staff was amazing and courteous. I will be staying here again in the future.

Huge room for NYC and great location near Times Square and Rockefeller Plaza. Front desk staff very accomodating included lending us an umbrella for snow storm and getting us into our room early. Room cleaning daily left room spotless. Only issue was no dining in hotel and the lobby was very plain. Doorman pointed us to a few good breakfast places near the hotel.

Stayed 7/6-7/10 2022. Nice little hotel in a GREAT location. A couple of blocks from Bryant Park and Rockefeller Center, 4 block to Times Square, a quiet little park across the street. Perfect location for Theatre goers. It is an older building, so nothing's state-of-the-art, but everything was fine. I would suggest the hotel add luggage racks, a chair for the desk, and a refrigerator (included, not as an add-on) to the rooms to upgrade the experience.

I stayed 3 nights and the staff was helpful and nice, the room was big, comfy and clean. 4 min to Times Square by walk. It's a really really nice hotel, I loved it! On an other note though, if you forgot or lost something in the hotel, you need to forget it because even if the service at the hotel is #1, the after service worth 1 star. The last day, I was in rush because I was about to miss by bus to go home and I just realized that I forgot something in the basement bathroom. I try to call at least 10 times (even if its cost money to call from Mtl). I tried at different time and different day, but I never talk to anybody at the lost item department, and when I try another department, staff just tell me that I need to call the right one, but nobody answered. I also tried to send an email, and again, no respond. I just want to know if someone find my sandal. I'd just bought them and I'm very sad that I forgot them when I was changing in the basement bathroom. If someone from thee staff read this, please answer me. Thank you.

The location of this hotel was excellent. A mere 300 meter walk to Times Square. However , staff is not very friendly. No suggestions , or explanations giving during check in or check out. Rooms are a bit outdated too. The toilet bowl seat cover had paint chips on it , so the black ceramic was being exposed. If you want luxury , do not stay here. If you want good idea location , I would stay here.

I have stayed here many time. The location is perfect for my needs and due to world changes, I appreciate the in-room microwave for take away reheating. My room was quiet and the bath amenities were appreciated. I always try to stay here when I go to NYC.

I read a lot of the reviews and was a bit skeptical of what our stay with the family would be like but I must say it was so great!! It is an older hotel but very clean!! The staff was super friendly and anytime we needed extra towels, blankets, or trash bags, we just called the front desk and within 5mins they were there! It is the perfect location just a few blocks from Times Square! We would definitely recommend this hotel to family and friends! Thank you for a wonderful 5 night stay!!

THIS HOTEL TRIED TO STEAL $600 FROM US! DO NOT STAY HERE! We booked at the Hotel in Times Square for its great proximity to a function we would be in NYC attending for my wife’s work. However, 2 days before we were set to arrive we received a generic email stating that our reservation had been canceled with no explanation or information about making accommodations. I called the hotel and spoke to 3 separate employees who all “apologized for the inconvenience “ and said that they had come under government contract and that they would not be making any accommodations. They also ensured me that I would not be charged for my stay. However the next day I was charged the total for my stay, even though they were the ones who canceled on me. Over the next 3 days I had spoken to 8 different employees, was forwarded to the General Manager Nicole McLean’s voicemail which was not accepting any more messages, had numerous employees say they would have her call me back and I’ve sent two emails to her that have yet to be responded too. It has been a full week since the cancellation with no word from their General Manager Nicole McLean. I have disputed the charge with my credit card company as a fraudulent charge and will escalate this further if necessary. Terrible management, and terrible customer service. I really would like to see this resolved and appropriate actions taken, as someone with years of hotel hospitality experience this is not how you treat guests.

I was so impressed with this hotel. The location can't be beat for the price. We were so close to Times Square, Rockefeller Plaza, and the Broadway shows! There was much to do within walking distance and easy access to the subway as well. The staff was polite and very helpful. Our room was exceptionally clean. The bed and pillows were incredibly comfortable. I loved the remaining touches from the past--the mail shoot and the stair rail had great character. I would definitely recommend.
