Despite all the negative reviews I see about this particular Holiday Inn, I had a decent/good experience here. The Lobby: Lobby was very small. A little out dated but that didn't bother me since I really only care about my bedding situation. For safety, if you are out late at night and come back to your hotel, it requires your room key to scan and enter the lobby. The Room: The room I stayed in was a single King. The room is very small, basically just fits a bed and the dresser and bathroom. The bed was clean, no stains and the bed was nice and tidy. The bathroom was clean as well, sink and shower were up to par. The Service: Service was good here. The staff on site at check-in was very nice and was able to get my information down and get me to my room quick. The service for the hotel room (house cleaning) was good as well. I came back to my room the following night and everything was cleaned and made up. Overall, a 4/5. The room was small but did the job in cleanliness and comfort. Service was good as the staff were friendly and very attentive with any of my needs. Small hotel, but does the job since you really aren't in the hotel most of the days anyways.

Checked in late but the staff working was so helpful and nice. Didn’t catch his name. The room was nice and spacious but no microwave or refrigerator. The major issue we had were the sheets were not changed on the bed. Probably had a weeks worth of hair on them or Chewbacca stayed here. That’s the worst I have ever seen. Staff was nice and friendly about it but what a weird situation. I’ll spare you by not posting the pics.

I am an IHG Premier member using points and annual bonus for a three night /four day visit to the Big Apple. Turned out to be crazy given Omnicron outbreak (cancelled Broadway shows, masking everywhere) but team at Holiday Inn NYC was top notch. For corporate management I note the manager Mike, the assistant manager Randall, the desk manager Felix, and the maintenance staffer Eduardo by name to commend their top notch service. Great location, great service, great city in its holiday finest, all confirming why I am ecstatic to be an IHG member. Keep up the great work. Thanks for the top notch, memorable stay. Keep up the great work. Thanks Mike, you have a great team.

Unsafe for female travelers!!! First off, the hotel was extremely dated and dirty, not living up to the chain’s standards elsewhere in the city. Second, during first night of my stay, a strange man entered my room at 1am with a key card. I had dead-bolted the door and that was the only reason he didn’t get close to me. The staff, after this horrendous security failure, could not care less. They had no security cameras and were unable to find out who used the key card to enter my room. After agreeing to give me a new room, the manager Justine said until she “investigates” there was nothing she could do. Of course, her investigation yielded no results. She refused to refund me my stay or offer anything other than her half-hearted apologies, saying it’s because I booked through Expedia. Only after I requested the refund again in the lobby where multiple other guests were present did she finally agree to refund me. Truly disgusting experience. Will never return.

I was impressed by this hotel, I have travelled to New York at least 8 times and I could say this one was the best hotel I have ever stayed in Manhattan, despite my previous hotels were always located in Midtown, the rooms had enough space, the fee did not included breakfast but they gave us complementary snacks during the whole day (in the morning, mid evening and in the night), one day they were giving us chocolate chip cookies and these were the most delicious ones of my entire life (not lying). Also the staff is very polite and open to help you as guest. We checked out and we’re able to leave out bags there the entire day and collected just before leaving to the airport which was super helpful to continue exploring the city that last day. I highly recommend.

Not a bad experience at all. The room was good for New York standards, although I think we had a bigger room than some of the other rooms at our floor. We think the people at the service desk were kind. I don't recommend going to this hotel for a long stay, our room wasn't cleaned once!

disappointing experience. Location is probably the best part about this hotel. Rooms are a little cramped, and the entrance narrows into a very tight hallway. Some of the staff were welcome and friendly and helpful. However, others had a very bad attitude such as one lady who shouldn’t be dealing with people as her job. The destination fee is a scam, considering booking through a third-party website you already pay resort fee, which is the same thing and so we had to pay $18 per room per night extra, excluding incidentals. We had several issues with our room. For example, the sink was blocked after we checked in, the coffee machine didn’t work, and in addition there was no hairdryer in the room. The beds were comfortable. There is no breakfast and no fridges in the rooms. But in general, the hotel needs a good clean and renovation. New carpets needed as there is a musky smoky smell. The hotel couldn’t do the basics right and we were disappointed in our stay. Get rid of that destination fee it’s wrong to expect guests to pay even after all the taxes and charges and resort fee booked and paid for.

Has to be one of the worst (and funnily enough expensive) hotels I've ever stayed in. Rooms are extremely tiny, the bathroom ventilation wasn't working, hang around for more than a few minutes in the lobby and you'll start getting stares from the receptionists. There is no common microwave to heat food, neither a mini fridge in the room. Breakfast was 'included' with our package (~450USD/night for 2 double bed room) but was only available 7am-9am. However you had to fight for it because if you came after 730am it was finished and the coffee and hot water were cold anyways. The cleaning/housekeeping staff who barely spoke English were way more friendlier than the front house staff who seemed very dispassionate just to be sitting (I understand but pretend a fake niceness for your shift duration or atleast don't make the customer feel bad for asking a ques or requesting a thing)

Don’t stay here. We got a good deal on a room through HotelTonight, but after we checked in, a mysterious $700+ charge appeared on our credit card. We asked the front desk about it and they said we‘d have to wait until the manager was around to sort things out. This turned out to be a theme of the place: friendly, but disempowered staff, always politely telling us they can’t help. Later, we spoke with the manager and he sorted things out. We got the $700+ back. Had it ended there, I wouldn’t complain. But it didn’t end there. We subsequently got two additional $300+ charges. Again, we took it up with the front desk and again we were politely told that only the manager could help us, but he wasn’t around. In the end we checked out, unable to resolve the situation. We’ll leave it to our credit cad company to deal with the fraudulent charges. On top of this, and in line with other recent reviews, our room stank, the air conditioner was loud, and cleaning service was almost non-existent. On a positive note, the staff were kind. They just lacked executive ability, which in our case was a real problem. Also, the location is very convenient.

Not worth it. Price is attractive and location is OK, but this hotel is not well-maintained and pretty gross. I’m skeptical that a lot of these 5 star reviews are legitimate. My experience over a two night stay: 1) Entered the room for the first time and noticed immediately that the air conditioning was loudly rattling (could hear through the door) and the faucet was leaking. When I reached out to the front desk, the maintenance person proceeded to fix the faucet and then disappear for 2+ hours while I was waiting in the loud room for the AC to get attended to. Was told a “rush” order was put in, but several hours passed before this was worked on. Noticed later that the toilet was loudly running for hours after flushing but didn’t bother to report and deal with the desk/maintenance again. 2) The “amenities” placed in the bathroom were already opened and used and two bottles were even empty. Disgusting. 3) There’s a weird, unpleasant smell throughout the entire facility. 4) You need to request every day for you room to be cleaned, even though this is not communicated to you upon arrival. 5) Noticed several gnats in the bathroom. 6) Water pressure in the shower is very weak. 7) The TV channels occasionally black out, showing “TV signal is lost” and take some time to get back. 8) The king room is TINY. Just don’t do it. I checked out four hours ago and still feel gross. Worst hotel I’ve been to in the city. Disappointed in myself for taking the cheap option here but even more disappointed in Holiday Inn for allowing this terrible experience and product to exist.

We had a good experience at this hotel located in Tribeca, just a few minutes walk from the Stock Exchange and the World Trade Center. The value for NYC was great, but small room size as expected. All amenities were found within the room. The staff here were very helpful and friendly. Our only complaint is that the hotel ran out of water over the weekend so we had to go out to the convenience store to buy some. Otherwise, easy walking distance to the Fulton subway station and many great food options nearby. Great budget hotel!

There were flies in my room and the ac was pretty loud. Sheets and bathroom were clean and outlets worked fine. Room was pretty small for king bed but it did the job. Shower curtain smelled bad and the carpet seemed pretty worn. There was also a leftover sock on the floor that definitely didn't belong to me 👀

Great location, but more like Fawlty towers than a holiday Inn, which you can normally rely on. Virtually everything that could be wrong was wrong....key card didn't work, safe didn't work, blind was off its runners, wet patch on carpet.....and this is on the back of having paid way over the normal rack rate in view of the time of year. I was moved to a better room....but my stay was already compromised... The cherry on the cake was when I left, and was asked to lug my bags 3 blocks away and pay 5dollars per bag to store them till my cab came!! Luckily, after expressing disquiet, and much discussion, I was allowed to leave bags behind reception.. This whole experience nearly spoilt my holiday, if it were not that I like new York so much. However I will think twice before booking a holiday Inn again.

Excellent location and staff. Clean bedding and towels. Free baggage storage. Within easy walking distance to WTC train station. My only real complaint was the poor condition of my room's window curtains. I stayed in a 9th floor balcony room and would happily do so again.

We really enjoyed our stay. We would have appreciated a mini fridge but beside that, the room was perfect for our stay. The hotel was clean and calm. We were at a walking distance of the 9/11 memorial and the Brooklyn bridge. Also they gave us 2 water bottles and a snack each day. We definitely recommend this hotel. We’re looking forward to come back soon.

Check-in was quick and easy and Tiffany was very friendly even though it was past midnight when I checked in! Rooms were simple and clean as expected and everything went smoothly with our trip! Definitely recommend for a cheaper stay in a great location (right by the Fulton st station and the oculus.)

The stay was comfortable. Great bed. I had a coffee machine in the room but no tea. The sugar and cream being individually wrap is not really eco-friendly. I had to open two packs to get two sugar packs. There was no restaurant on site, so no breakfast included. Good location with good access to several subway lines.

Let me say we had a good experience here in this hotel. The staff was friendly and kind. Very helpful. The issue we had is that our hotel room cost around 1k for 4 days. However, it was very musty, even with the fans on. There is carpet everywhere, and you can smell how poorly kept the place was. Now, I didn't have any issues with staff cleaning our room or changing our sheets. But for that much money, the rooms should be spotless and amazing. Unfortunately not. MANAGEMENT ITS TIME TO INVEST IN HARDWOOD FLOOR. We didn't complain about how bad it smelt because we only slept in the room and was barely there during the day, but even the hall ways smell bad, musty, old.

The ad was very misleading but Sadiq was 🏆wonderful. He made my stay very welcoming. His very bubbly personality was so inviting. He made us feel like we had the best room in the hotel. Being though we were in New York for a family member illness, he made us feel right at home. He gave us great restaurant idea as well as directions to various locations. It was an honor to meet such a very nice person. 😊The James' from Baltimore

Pros • Excellent value for money overall. • Relatively large room for Manhattan. • Good location; steps away from stock market, a few blocks from WTC, and abundant subway stations. • Compact relatively quiet area, rare for Manhattan. • Small hotel == no lobby chaos • Our room had a huge balcony, but I think it’s the only one • WiFi was excellent, connection was solid and speed was good (didn’t try to stream a movie though). • Blackout curtains inside tracks to keep out all light. They were frayed and easily came out of their tracks, but with some attention they worked well. Cons • Old and worn, cleanliness not up to normal Holiday Inn standards. • Part of carpet almost black from either use or flood. • Inside shower certain is angled so you get water on the floor no matter how careful • Bathroom fan scarcely moves any air • No booklet of hotel amenities, safety, restaurant hours, local attractions, and eateries. • There is a thermostat on the wall that doesn’t appear to do anything but read the room temperature. • Took a while in the cold to discover heat must be set on the below-window unit rather than the obvious wall thermostat; no instructions or sign to help. • Only one side of the bed had a nightstand (with light and power), even though it looked like there was room for another one on the other side. • We needed power outlets on both sides of the bed. We had to be shown by maintenance staff that if we needed power on that side that we had to pull the bed out to get to outlets below the headboard. That staff member was nice though. • Either the lock for the door to the big balcony was broken or we couldn’t figure it out. Not a huge safety issue, but it would have been nice to lock that door. • There is supposed to be a parking spot in front of the lobby, but of course it was occupied. We had to unload our car double-parked, blocking the one travel lane of the narrow city street. No staff member came out to help with luggage or traffic. • TV was quite small for the distance from the bed. It took a number of seconds to change each channel. A bigger more responsive TV should be considered. • There is a 1-2” high door stop built into the floor positioned to easily step on or trip over when walking to the bathroom at night from that side of the bed. • Room key stopped working when we came back from breakfast, several hours before check out time. • Housekeeping knocked on my door at 10:45am even though I had a do not disturb sign, said check out was 11am. I called the front desk to confirm checkout was 12noon.

I do not recommend staying here. As many other comments state, there is an unpleasant smell throughout the entire hotel. The rooms are small which is expected for NYC, but our bathroom floor was flooded and soaked the carpet. Our blinds are also very dirty and do not work properly so we cannot roll them up to hide the dirt. Management could not offer another room for us and somehow approved this for customers. Very disappointed.

Location is good--near subway. But most certainly not scenic. The room was quite small and was not serviced a single time in our 6 night stay. We had to repeatedly ask for room supplies such as shampoo, conditioner, coffee etc.

Absolutely disgusting. The hotel has a bad smell from the minute you walk in, a combination of cigarettes and wet carpet. I waited in the lobby for 10 mins but no one was at the front desk to check me in. Once I finally got attended to, I went up to my room only to find it unkept. It was evident the sheets were used, with lint and hair on it. I turned on the heat and there was a a very bad smell, as if something was burning inside of it. I called the front desk to tell them about the sheets but no one picked up for 20 minutes. I went back down to the lobby, ready to check out, but I was offered another room. This one was a little better but there was a roach crawling by the doorway, making it's way to the pizza boxes that were left in the hallway from the next room. One of my worst stays in NYC.

A little difficult to get to if you don't know your way around. Nice little area close to wall st. Rooms are nice. Hallways are small and only enough for one person at a time to walk through. Employees are very nice and as helpful as possible.

This is the best hotel I have ever been to. Everything about this hotel is applauded. The check-in process was done in a couple of minutes without any hassle. My questions were entertained with respect to their staff to my full satisfaction. The location of the hotel is very accessible as well. I highly recommend this hotel to everyone.
