This is not a 5 star hotel. Let’s just start off there. Secondly, the premium city view is a mediocre at best view of an unoccupied office building. The description is totally misleading and if you want a nice view of Time Square this is not the hotel for you. Customer service is also terrible. When we checked into our room and noticed the terrible view, we asked a manager for another room and they dismissively shut us down. This morning when my wife called to complain the manager indicated that she should have said something earlier (SHE DID!). If you want a five star experience with a great view I strongly suggest you look elsewhere. This hotel sucks. Pictures to come. EDIT: I am revising this review from one star to three stars based on the hotel relocating us to a different room. However, I do stand by my other comments. This is a 3 star hotel with decent views, and good service (although you have to be a little insistent).

Don’t stay at this hotel. They are very arrogant and not helpful at all. They 0 empathy for their customers and their needs. If you have COVID you will most get kicked out of the hotel and on top of that risking the lives of those around you. There are better hotels, don’t throw your money away.

I stayed at the Knickerbocker for 1 night. The staff was nice and welcoming. Looking at it from outside, the architecture is classic and admirable. The interior had a modern design. When I came up to my room, I was a little surprised with the huge crack on the side of the doorway. It didn’t make the room any less appealing, but it was kind of odd seeing it in a 5 star hotel. My room was large with a king size bed and a couch. The bathroom was also large with a spacious shower stall. Water pressure was great in the shower. The bed was comfortable. My room window had a view towards the street and across was an office building. My window blackout shades however did not work, so I was only able to cover the window with the sheer curtain. It felt awkward being completely visible to the building across the street. So glad it was a weekend. The room had interesting light switches that sets the mood of the room. Room service was nice and prompt. Just be mindful that every check comes with an 18% gratuity already added. Not really sure what the point of the tip line is with that already being calculated into the bill. The rooftop restaurant/bar was a nice touch although they close at 11 and stop letting guests in at 1030. 4 elevators are present which are fast and not crowded. Aside from the the crack by the door way, the most disappointing part of my stay was the food in the breakfast buffet. Even though my complementary breakfast came in as part of a credit card benefit for my hotel stay, I can honestly say that it is not worth it if you plan to pay for it. I think for each person the cost was $42 + 18% with our gratuity. I used my voucher but I was shocked it costs that much for basic food. They had sausages, potatoes with bell pepper, scrambled eggs, some fruits, yogurt, and charcuterie. Overall, the hotel was nice but not perfect. Staff and location are great.

Rooms were nice, bed comfortable . Great location to times Square, right by the new year eve ball. Here's the issue, when we checked in, i was told we were "upgraded" not sure how its a upgrade when you are put right under the bar on the floor below, so all you hear is music blasting all night, yea , no... not much of a upgrade. Walls/doors paper thin. Can hear everyone talking like they were in your room. no mini fridge , no bottle water in room. No where to get ice. Breakfast on the hotel menu in the room was extremely overpriced for 2 eggs, 1 toast 2 slices of bacon and a juice or coffee. I think it was 45 dollars. I've been in 3 star hotels that had better accommodations. Oh yea. And the 150 dollar "resort fee" lol

Arrived on the day after Christmas and was greeted very nicely by the staff. The hotel is located in a wonderful area in Times Square. So you ask why the 1 star? Our bathroom had a huge ring on the wall where the toilet sit flips up. I’m sure you can guess what that nice yellow ring was. If this is the way they clean bathrooms then how must they clean the food they prep or the beds we sleep in. Our room number was 1424.

Very impressive hotel in an impressive location. A word or warning to start however about the hotels reservation service, I spent over half an hour while the agent ensured that we were booking interconnecting rooms but on arrival the hotel know nothing about this. To be fair, they went above and beyond to try and accommodate our requirements and upgraded us for two of the three nights. This was really excellent service but obviously our original request should have been noted and honored. The rooms were exceptionally spacious, modern and very comfortable. Housekeeping was excellent. Location can not be faulted because it is literally central to everything. Because of its relatively small size we felt that there was a very personal service with all the staff being welcoming and very willing to help. We would certainly stay here again on any future visit to New York.

I visit NYC frequently and have avoided staying in the Times Square area for years. In the past, I had found the hotels there to not be terribly up to par. This time, I really wanted to stay somewhere central and decided to give the Knickerbocker a try. The room was clean and modern, aside from the regular NYC street noise, it was quiet, and the staff was amazingly helpful. It was a wonderful experience and I will be back.

Stayed here last year. This is the hotel with the best value in Manhattan at least among all the ones I have stayed. Room is clean, neat modern design, plenty of storage room. Bathroom is exceptional, nice design, plenty of space, but the shelf in the shower room was broken. Service is so so, the staff do their job, but you won't get that heartwarming feeling that you will get at hotels that offer great customer service. When I was at the front desk, the receptionist was looking at his mobile phone until I was in front of him for a few seconds, very unprofessional.

This hotel is very mediocre for business travel. The rooms are clean but old, the elevators busy and congested. The rooms are not very soundproof so you constantly hear people and doors closing in the hall. The location right in Times Square means that it’s always extremely noisy with people and sirens outside, the lights are very bright. There isn’t really a workspace in the rooms, just a tiny side table that only kind of works as a desk, and the beds are kind of hard with uncomfortable pillows. It was hard to sleep well there with the light, noise, and lack of cushion. The staff are just ok - they’re not especially attentive, don’t really hold doors for you, etc. It’s very hard to reach the in room dining staff and I was unable to place breakfast orders the night before. The one night I was able to place an order they forgot to deliver it the next morning and I had to call to remind them. The food wasn’t great. There are other nicer options in the area so this works in a pinch, but I wouldn’t choose to stay there again.

I absolutely loved staying here. The staff is incredibly warm and friendly, so the vibe of the place felt authentically welcoming. Great cafe on the ground floor and good food options. And the room itself was large and modern. Though this hotel would otherwise have felt too close to the noise of Times Square, this place is a true haven.

Location is amazing and service was not that bad (cleaning, etc.) but I stayed for almost a week and it was definitely not worth the money. When we arrived, the room was not ready even after check in time at 3 pm. We finally got our room around 5 or 5:30. On the third day I stayed, the heat started blasting to 98 degrees. It was super hot and we could not turn on the AC since it didn’t work during the winter. The thermostat itself didn’t work at all and was useless. We had to call the technician at 12 am, and then that same morning at 6 am the AC started blasting and it was freezing cold so we had to call the technician again. We ended up having to switch rooms (to an even smaller room) and the only compensation we received was free breakfast vouchers. The breakfast was so average anyways and the rooftop was not special. There was no nice lobby or seating areas either and the check in area was at the back for some reason. They would not refund us even when we wanted to check out early. My entire family ended up sick because of the heat and AC issues. Also, the doorman was not helpful at all and would not even open the doors half of the time. We also had to call for extra towels and water the whole time. Overall, save your money and stay somewhere else. You would be better staying at a Hilton or even a motel.

My wife and I spent four nights in early June 2022. The location can't be beat if you want to be in the heart of NYC tourist spots. Also being so close to the Times Square subway station was a big plus for getting around easily. The hotel is beautiful and the room was quite comfortable. We were on the 12th floor and the street noise was not a problem. The rooftop bar was also enjoyable. I expect we'll be staying there again.

I lived in NYC for 5 years and have spent hundreds of nights in Manhattan hotel rooms over the years. This was the first time I’ve ever stayed at the Knickerbocker, as I typically avoid the tourist crowds associated with the theatre district. I’m so sad I didn’t discover this gem earlier. The rooms at the Knickerbocker make the location well worth it. It’s actually so close to 6th Ave that the location is not an issue—the hotel is very close to Bryant Park and is across from the new Bank of America HQ. The room was huge and the bathroom was definitely 5-stars. This was the largest, best appointed room I’ve seen in Midtown. The check-in was a breeze and the staff were terrific. I even ran into a very friendly and super famous Food Network hostess in the elevator! The Knickerbocker is truly an oasis in Times Square!

Amazing hotel, nice rooms, great service. The location is perfect, directly at Times Square and next to the subway. The rooms are big, pretty and very clean, you have everything you need. We really liked the staff, especially Betty, Marcel and Chester. Everyone is very friendly, helpful and attentive. You can always ask them for good recommondations. Also, the rooftop bar is really nice with a good view. As we‘ve been very happy with our stay at The Knickerbocker Hotel, we would definitely stay there again and recommend it to anyone.

Great hotel!! Room cleaning service twice a day, fantastic service. Big room and big towels. The toilet is separate from the shower, it is really helpful thing, big space for both, the toilet and the shower place. Deluxe Room was perfect for our family. Paola and Perla at the Desk were very friendly and helpful. Very nice staff, the guys at the entrance are very friendly. Great location, near to every place that you want to go. A very nice top roof. Strongly recommend!!!

The hotel front desk clerks only care about you if you boast about the millions of dollars you make. A gentleman in front of me was treated like royalty as he was very loudly shouting how much money he makes. When I approached and stated I wanted to check in their demeanor changed drastically. My company booked and prepaid for the room but they decided to charge my personal card over $800. I explained that my company had already prepaid for the room and they told me “That doesn’t matter you need to pay” At no point did they try to help or find a solution. I also was never informed of the rooftop no lounges and bar on the 4th floor like the previously gentleman was. My company booked and paid for a Superior Queen room and paid extra for a view. I was given a room with 2 beds and no view! Of course it upset me because I did not get what I booked and paid for. I called front desk and was told they did not have the room I booked available. So why would they offer a room let me pay for it and turn around and say sorry we don’t have that but not even offer a refund for placing me in a basic room. The room I was placed in was dirty. There was trash left in the room. Dirty towels in the bathroom and half drank water bottles. This is definitely not a 5 star hotel at all! Staying at a motel 6 would be better than staying here! After I checked out I was then charged an extra $30 and I have no idea what for. I did not eat at the hotel. I did not ask for anything extra. I did not order room service. I will be calling my bank to dispute that extra $30 since it was not printed on my invoice and I know the hotel will not offer me any solutions.

Stayed here during a business trip to NY. The service was everything but 5 star! If you’re able to opt for other options in the 5 star category please go with a stay at the St. Regis or something of the sort. The location is prime, with most things in walking distance. It would appeal especially to tourists sitting right in the middle of Times Square. That’s about the only pro. Stayed here for 4 nights, room service was a hassle to order each day. The front desk barely ever answers the phone, and everyone seems to be working at half pace. Room Service was particularly upsetting when asked to forward me to the room service manager, who responded by abruptly hanging up the phone after finally admitting to having forgotten my order twice(Yes, I had to place it twice and never received anything). Not to mention, I waited an hour before a flight out hoping I could receive food in the comfort of my room. Ah well! Flight on an empty stomach! Would not stay here again. Terrible service and experience for the price. Oh! The faucet water was brown for about two days. Enjoy!

Horrible Hotel Management. When I arrived to this hotel I was given an upgrade room since I have stayed at this hotel for the past 6 years, total of 11 times and each time 5 to 6 nights minimum. Approx $4500.00 each time. Also my son stays at this hotel. This time when I arrived, the upgraded room with a view was much smaller than the previous times I stayed. Not only that, they had constructions going on and scaffolding out side of my window. Lovely view right!! I immediately complained to the front desk manager (Mercedes) and she offered me a room with NO WINDOW (closet?) the following 5 nights and she could not do anything about the first night since they were sold out. I asked her if she could help me find another hotel near by since their accommodations were not acceptable and I was not informed of the construction going on during my stay at the time of the reservation. She very bluntly said no we can not accommodate you any further. Basically take it or leave it. I ended up calling American express and they helped find me a wonderful hotel and a real 5 star hotel (Equinox Hotel by Hudson River). The next day I noticed I was charged for one night even though I did canceled the reservation due to poor accommodations. The next day I spoke to Kevin Brian another manager and he was more rude and unprofessional than Mercedes and would not remove the one night charge to keep me coming back. I then asked to speak to the General Manager and he rudely said I am the only one you need to speak to not the General Manager and will not remove the charges. Later I called back and asked to the GM and his name was given by the concierge (Scott Case). I left him a voice mail but never called me back. I can not believe that a 5 star hotel management treated a long term guest this way. I have paid them aprox. $50,000 in the past few years and for $337.00 they rather lose a guest. That's what I call Poor Management.

10/10 hotel experience in Times Square. Couldn’t believe we were able to book in the 300s for a weekend. Thank you cold weather!! We had an amazing experience from start to finish. Check in was a breeze. Our room was ready and super spacious, particularly for Times Square. Housekeeping were awesome. Concierge was wonderful helping us with a subway question. Fourth floor and rooftop lounges had great drinks and service. Would highly recommend and will stay again.

Remember to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴜʟʟʏ .ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a room. This web site will compare thousands of booking websites and normally will have rooms much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the highest rated in the area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you choose this place you for sure will love it I'm sure! This hotel is beautiful, quiet and comfortable. The staff was in communication with me even prior to my departure from home. They bent over backwards to make my family’s stay perfect. This hotel and its staff is incredibly.

This is a great hotel in New York City. While the rooms are not inexpensive, they are superlatively furnished and laid out, and the staff is wonderful. Brandon and Cynthia were at the check-in desk and were most gracious, warm and very accommodating. The location is great, right on 42nd Street close to Broadway, and the noise level from the street was nonexistent. We will definitely stay there again.

First of all the location and the new year roof top party was great. Little over priced but I understand was season timing. Staff are amazing. Room size super small. Me and my wife noticed a funny smell in the bathroom area.

AMAZING HOTEL. Excellent place to stay. Staff were BRILLIANT. Couldn't have been more helpful. First time in new york and they made it so special. We would highly highly recommend. THANK YOU KNICKERBOCKER TIMES SQUARE FOR AN AMAZING STAY. Only little thing I would ask for is free tea and coffee in rooms.

Just checked out of the Knickerbocker Hotel. What a lovely hotel for 1st timers to NYC, a stones throw to Times Square. The staff are so friendly and helpful, hotel is beautiful and modern not too fussy or pretentious. Rooms are gorgeous and spacious, we were upgraded. House keeping did a great job every day. Concierge friendly and helpful all the time with every question. Bar/lounge area so nice and servers friendly. Roof top bar is stunning. Yes the drinks and food are expensive but its NYC! If we are ever lucky enough to visit NYC again I'd love to stay here.

Look, this is a great hotel with a lot of history and has a great location near Times Square and Broadway. Has great food with a great caesar salad! But just be ready to pay because your charged for everything. Also I was charged something called a resident fee which was forty five dollars per day upon checking out. I'm not sure if this is a hotel fee or some type of tax from the city of New York. Just be aware that even if you prepay, you'll probably have to pay something at checkout.

The best location. A rooftop bar! A 300m walk to Bryant park on one side and the iconic number one Times square on the other. It doesn’t get any better than this. The warmest of staff. Surely the largest bedrooms anywhere near times square, surely the best shower with a tub too. However it’s the pillows and beds which make this the number one hotel in New York for me. A deep, long and un-interrupted sleep makes a huge difference. 10/10. Highly recommended.

A great hotel In a great location . The rooms were large , updated , clean , modern. There aren’t many hotels that feel clean enough for me to take a bath , but this one was . Very comfortable , nice hotel . Our room was quiet because it looked onto other buildings off of the street. Rooftop bar very nice . They gave us a coupon for 2 cocktails , which was great. Nothing bad to say about this hotel at All, but one star off for price . It’s expensive , I know everything is , but that doesn’t mean I have to like it

I recently travelled to NYC with my brother and adult son for a 5-night stay. We chose this hotel due to its location in Times Square and square footage. Some of the positives, the room was spacious and clean! We had a closet, drawers, fridge area and extra chair which is difficult to find in NYC. The location is excellent with 2 subway entrances close by that can get you anywhere. Very close to Bryant Park as well. The room was quiet, and the free bottled water and umbrellas were a plus. The staff was excellent and friendly. Now for a couple of the not so positive items…we paid almost $400 for a 3rd person in our room and unfortunately the amenities such as robes, slippers and bottled water were not extended to the 3rd person. We also had to make a separate trip to the front desk to get the additional key, which was required to enter the elevators, even though they asked for all 3 IDs during check-in. We were never able to connect to the Wi-Fi even after following instructions. Calling down to the front desk took 4 to 5 tries each time as we kept receiving an error message. I was also charged for an in-room movie which we did not purchase. I have tried calling several times and left a couple messages with no luck. I do feel the property is a little overpriced for what you get. That being said, I would consider staying again if they reduced the rates and I would make sure to go down to the front desk to check out to avoid any potential billing errors.

I stay at the Knickerbocker right now. This hotel is not a 5 star hotel, rather a 3-4 star. The mini bar is empty, and the rooms are dated. I also have a connected-room so I can hear the other guest right now. :( Yesterday no one was working in the restaurant so we were a line of guests wondering what was going on. Once we got a table, unfortunately the menu was a sad story, so we hit off to a real restaurant. But the positive side: the staff is amazing! smiling, nice, welcoming!!! The receptionists are superfriendly and in the rooftop everyone was smiling!

My girlfriends and I stayed here last week while we were in town running The NYC Marathon. Initially we were hesitant to stay here because so many people say. “Don’t stay in Times Square, it’s a tourist trap.” Well, I can say we were so happy we stayed here! You’re in Times Square so you’re right next to subways, Broadway, but you’re also just a quick walk away from Bryant Park, and midtown. From the moment we arrived we were so happy with the level of service from the gentlemen at the front door, concierge always checking in to make sure we knew where we were going, the front desk making sure I could get into the room early. The room was quite large for a NYC room, and incredibly quiet! We LOVE the Knickerbocker and all of us agreed we would love to stay here when we come back to the city.

We booked this hotel for our honeymoon and it caused some mixed feelings. It was a nice hotel with a good location for tourism and Broadway. There was also some issues with our original room and the staff did a good job fixing the issues and upgrading our room. However we booked it with a certain amount of restaurants and perks that, due to covid we did not get. And the services we did get were pretty standard compared to the hype. Overall it was a nice price compared to other hotels in the area. But I feel like it's not a place I would tell people they HAVE to stay at if visiting.

I absolutely loved staying at the Knickerbocker. The people welcome you and it feels like home in a big city. The rooms were stunning. The bathroom is so relaxing. It was so quiet in the room. I truly enjoyed my stay. Best hotel in NY.

Beautiful room, location, and staff. I have absolutely no complaints from my stay here! Check in was smooth and all staff members gave us a friendly greeting upon arrival. The room was very modern and clean, and also came stocked with water, robes, lotions, and soaps. Less than a 1min walk to Times Square - with that being said, the room has an automatic drop down shade that helped to block out the noise on the street! The hotel has a nice rooftop bar/restaurant too! We thought it was worth it to spend the extra money to stay in a nicer/much less crowded hotel than the neighboring ones. I will definitely be a returning guest!

Overall, a good stay. The location is perfect for visiting Broadway. The front desk team and admin are friendly and welcoming. A few things could be improved, for example, the doormen/bellhops who stand in the lobby with their back against the wall watching the guests go by without budging from their repose and the first floor café could use some improving to the level expected at a 5 star hotel. None are reasons to avoid, but make it more a 4 star experience.

We enjoyed this beautiful hotel in Times Square over the weekend while visiting New York City for dinner and a Broadway show. The rooms were beautiful. Well appointed. Large for New York city. The location was perfect. A short walk from Bryant Park and Central park. Highly recommend.

The room was very nice. We loved the rooftop restaurant. We were there 1 year ago in December. The staff was so nice and very helpful. We really loved the doorman. He was very informative and super nice. We loved that Time Square was right there.
