I can't knock the place for its clientele. Mostly an odd mixture of strident elitists who are horrified at encountering lesser, regular folk. And social climbers who booked on points and are angry over whatever deposit hit their credit card. Some exceptions. But those feel like the dominant factions. That said: A truly beautiful property. Spectacular by any measure. And more significantly: What an amazing collection of kind, interesting, intelligent, capable, wonderful people who work and run this place. The people who work here are so exceptional that I'll go back -- in spite of the mostly insufferable people who stay here.

Having a most ridiculous experience here as a Hyatt globalist. For the breakfast they suggest you to take two items from the cart only. I tried one and I simply didn’t like it. The manager « kindly » endorsed me to have another item of the cart. They also count one cold drink and one hot drink. Petty to have such rules in a 5 star hotel. NOT recommended if you would like to have a pleasant hassle free experience and home away from home. Most disappointing experience in Hyatts so far.

Perfect experience, feels like old school NYC luxury, but rooms and decor is modern. Amazing staff, very helpful and attentive. When it was raining, I was received by doorstaff with an umbrella - tiny things like this made the experience so top notch. Rooms are beautiful. Stayed in a suite day one, then came back a few days later and stayed in an upgraded room.

Excellent Hyatt property in NYC. It is a shadow of its former self without the original divine full service restaurant and hopping social drinking spot. The spa and pool remain trendy and professionally run. The room service is still up to its original renown (minus the broad and diverse original menu). Globalist recognition here is excellent. The staff are well trained and ultra polite. Guests are diverse and lots of different kinds of representation. Hotel staff bend over backwards to be nice. We celebrated my wife's birthday here for two nights and the welcome amenity was over the top given what we expected. The hotel is well situated and there is a lot to walk to. Plenty of excellent shows and restaurants adjacent to Central Park. With what hotels cost in Manhattan these days I'm not afraid to pay cash here to actually feel like I got something out of the stay. A lot of the negative reviews possibly are alluding to a former state of the hotel before the pandemic. Let's be realistic that that era is never coming back when you could order a full Japanese breakfast from a tablet on your bedside. At the bare minimum you get a room with a fantastic view adjacent to Carnegie Hall and Central Park. The rainfall shower and deep soaking tub in the large rooms are superb for NYC. And yes I miss the old minibar but it's more than well stocked for these days. The room service coffee is also really good. Try the steak.

Prime location, decent hotel yet lacking a proper lobby, take an elevator to the lobby then another elevator to your room. Room is nice yet no view and you can hear the city noise outside. Called housekeeping and went out for 2-3 hours and upon return the room was not cleaned. Breakfast was pretty good although my other half got sick after eating the lobster, service was slow and appeared understaffed. Upon check-out, the hotel added over $120 in minibar charges and couldn’t explain what the items were (we touched nothing from the minibar). Upon disputing this, the hotel immediately removed it, but I’m guessing this is standard practice for Park Hyatt assuming clients who don’t care to check their bill? Not my style and would not return.

Nicely done👌. If you have points, the stay is definitely worth it. -The location is perfect, very short walks to the subway, time square, Ocean Prime, Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping, etc. -This is the first hotel we have stayed in a long time that answers the phone (usually on the first ring), both outside and inside the hotel. -Absolutely gorgeous decor, layout, everything -The staff were pleasant, helpful, and professional. 110% -The gym and pool were incredible, with NYC views! LOVE this hotel -Note for ladies, the bathroom lighting isn’t great for makeup, I should have thought to ask for a makeup mirror, they do have them available.

I loved this hotel. From the service to the cleanliness, everything was perfect. The steam room was everything I needed and the heated pool was also a nice touch. The doorman (I forgot his name) and Omar from the guest services were also champs and took care of our every need. The breakfast was delicious and prompt to our room every morning and the chauffeur for the house Mercedes G class was also very nice and accommodating, he turned out to be from the same city I was born, Giza Egypt so I felt at home talking with him. I will definitely be back. Thanks Park Hyatt team for making this experience worth it.

I have stayed in a lot of five star hotels and this is not on par with Four Seasons of the world. When you pay $1400 for the cheapest room, (I did get upgrade as a globalist), I expect to experience the same quality of service as four seasons or peninsula. After all, I could spend the same money and stay there, but I chose Hyatt due to loyalty program… so where is it lacking? 1. The fruit plate I ordered off the menu tasted off. Half of the pineapple slices tasted fine but the other half tasted like the knife used was cutting something else before so the flavor of the pineapple was affected. It’s just a minor detail but made me not able to finish that fruit plate. 2. The first floor entrance lobby is often empty. The actual lobby is on a higher floor so you feel kind of unwelcome when you enter the building. 3. The restaurant and bar on the actual lobby floor is both small and lacking selections. 4. One of the phones in the room wasn’t working. 5. It’s extremely noisy/loud at night. The soundproofing from hallway or street is not well insulated. 6. The body wash bottle was too small so I had to bring one of the soap bar over. 7. There is no extra soap or bath product for the nice bath tub. 8. No soap dish so I had to leave the soap on the counter top (what?) which gets stuck every time I try to use it. The good: 1. They replace dental kit every day so I get plenty of toothpaste. 2. Room service does not require signature. They take care of the charge and automatic tip. This is such a good process. I don’t need to sit thru the awkward exchange of signing the tab when you really just want them out. 3. Minibar well stocked.

Stayed a for a few days before Christmas and it met our expectations. The service, the food, the amenities and location were great. The gym is quite possibly the most well equipped I've ever seen on any hotel property. We had two rooms, one upgraded to a studio suite and another to a higher floor as globalist. Would return.

One of the most beautiful hotels I've ever stayed in. Very quiet also we hardly ran into anyone. Never saw the staff much either but they were phenomenal. Turned down the bed every night and had an ice bucket waiting each night when we came in. Towels and linens very high quality. Very much the epitome of luxury. Indoor pool and hot tub were a great bonus. The gym was good too. Only small thing was we left early in the morning and for some reason there was no cold water, both faucets were running very hot.

We stayed in this hotel for couple of days, the location is perfect! Very close to everything. Couple blocks from Central Park, stores and restaurants. We stayed in a junior suite, the room Was very confortable and properly set up. The highlight was the breakfast! The food was delicious and the service as expected.

We celebrated our first wedding anniversary in NYC and stayed at this luxurious property. Great location, super attentive staff, the doormen were always so accommodating and friendly. Great room housekeeping and turn down service every night. We loved the spacious rooms, which are hard to find in NYC, and we booked the basic room. We didn’t find the streets to be too noisy. Before our trip, I read about disruptive, on-going construction nearby, but we did not notice it during our stay. The pool/gym/steam shower/jacuzzi were magical. Would love to stay here again.

After my most recent stay, I couldn’t figure out why the service had declined so much. As I was departing, I learned they had a new GM start about a year ago. Hello Hyatt upper management —- wake up! Read the recent reviews that are less than excellent, especially from your loyal globalists! 5-star service is top down and Park Hyatt has colossally failed at this once epic hotel property. Overall they barely meet basic service standards, a far cry from 5-star levels and they hardly — if ever, exceeded or anticipated guest expectations. They don’t value globalist loyalty like every other Hyatt (even top choices like Park Sydney and Chicago locations) — they’re beyond stingy and arrogant. They play games with their room categories, so they have only a couple globalist upgrades. There have near identical suites as the upgrade category, but they conveniently categorize them as something else to keep them out of the program, probably because they don’t like corporate reimbursement levels, or they think they can sell them for higher revenue. When we checked in, we were not thanked for globalist loyalty, we were not offered water or given an amenity during the stay. Globalist Upgrade? Ha! Yeah right. Even though they had at least a dozen suites available during our entire stay, according to the website, they made sure we only received the category booked and not an inch more. Actually we got less — read on! On our second night, we had no hot water in our room and at midnight, we realized we would have to switch rooms. I was thinking, well that’s a bummer but at least they will probably upgrade us now given the inconvenience in the middle middle of the night. NOPE! And fun I even checked the app to see what they had available — lots of better rooms! They had an opportunity to delight us when we had to switch rooms due to this maintenance issue and instead we got a step down with the same room type with a smaller room!!! They apologize and gifted a measly 15k points — but why not just give us a a nicer room when you have them available!!!??? More service issues… Front desk staff is friendlier at the Hyatt Place than this Park Hyatt. I don’t know why they are so arrogant and unwilling to please, and only deliver on the most minimal service needs. Housekeeping inconsistent, and would always forget something, like the shampoo, hand towel, or a bath mat. Had to call down to have them delivered when housekeeping forgot to leave them. Even worse, one of the times we couldn’t get them to even answer the phone. Tried the front desk, zero, even housekeeping, no answers anywhere. After about my eighth try, they finally answered, and just said they were kind of busy! Kitchen closes at 10pm on a Saturday night! So if you want to come back for a snack after the theater, tough Locke. You can only order drinks. This is fine if the hotel had another restaurant, but there is only one dining area, so why close the kitchen so early on a weekend night? Also, breakfast gets crowded because they only have the one area to serve. We ended up sitting in lounge seats because I don’t have ample table seating. Had the same waiter several mornings in a row, but he couldn’t remember once that we ordered iced tea with extra lemons every morning. Even a basic hotel waiter would remember this on subsequent mornings. It’s the little touches that matter. Fortunately, Hyatt has expanded and grown and there is another category 8 hotel in the city as well as several several category 6-7 which I’m certain will deliver beyond expectations and will cost you less money or less points. If you’re going to pony up $2000 per night, I suggest spending it elsewhere even outside the Hyatt brand. Sorry, I’m a super duper Hyatt loyalist, but I won’t spend another day or dollar at this location unless it turns around entirely!

I stayed at this hotel this past weekend with my family. I was running the NYC marathon and wanted to be close to Central Park. The staff was amazing from start to finish. From the minute we pulled up in front the Doorman and Bellhop were so friendly. I interacted with all staff members from front desk, cleaning staff, delivery staff and Room Service. I was blown away with how friendly everyone was. We stayed in the one bedroom Residential suite which was probably the nicest hotel that I've experienced in NYC. I highly recommend this hotel.

From the moment I stepped into the beautiful lobby of the Park Hyatt near Central Park, I knew I was in for a treat. This hotel isn't just a place to stay; it's an experience that begins with the warm, attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure every guest feels special. The rooms are a haven of comfort and luxury. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer breathtaking views of the city, while the interiors boast a sophisticated, modern design. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud, and the bathroom, with its deep soaking tub and rain shower, was the epitome of indulgence. Park Hyatt near Central Park is a blend of luxury, comfort, and exceptional service. It's more than a hotel; it's a destination that captures the essence of New York City's charm and elegance. A stay here is not just memorable; it's an experience that lingers long after you've

I stayed here February 18th-20th, 2022. The hotel's physical characteristics are wonderful - modern, luxurious rooms with the best furnishing I've experienced in a hotel to date. The soaking tub and the rainfall shower were amazing. The decor was unmatched for both the room and the overall hotel. Breakfast was excellent and service at breakfast was attentive and pleasant. Location cannot be beat - it is situated on the edge of Central Park. I personally marked it down to three stars because for me, a hotel's physical characteristics are less important than the hotel's service and front desk service was somewhat poor. Upon arrival, there was no attendant to show me to reception - it is not a problem if you've been there before, but I don't expect to wander around for five minutes figuring out how to get to reception in a luxury hotel. Additionally, some toiletries were missing from the room and when I requested those from the front desk, I was told to check again. I checked again where they should have been and they weren't there, so I called and they were provided the second time around. I believe the room should have either been stocked with them or they should have provided them to me the first time that I asked instead of implying that I probably just didn't find it. These issues would have been less of an issue at a hotel that is not advertised as a splurge with the motto "Luxury is Personal" - there was little personal about those interactions. The hotel emailed me a survey link after my stay, which I filled out with these concerns, but never received a response to. Also quite impersonal. Those three interactions contributed to a feeling that the hotel staff does not actually care about your stay and that they just expect you to satisfied with the physical property. If that is you, I recommend this hotel. If you care about personal connection, which is what really cements memories for me, I do not recommend staying here.

Nice hotel. The staff is attentive. Got an “upgrade” didn’t exactly ask for but was very sweet of them to do so. Loved the room, bathroom, amenities. Always appreciate the service when in the hospitality industry. Thanks!

definitely not worth the money. the only thing good about this hotel was an upgrade from one king to double beds room which we did appreciate. hair on the bed, too crowded pool, no doorman, horrible parking (I won't mention every detail), apathetic service especially at check-in.... i mean go to four seasons downtown for the same price. they were much better.

Seriously the best ever. The rooms are luxurious and every single detail is managed to perfection. The pool and gym are absolutely stunning. The staff is the most gracious I have ever encountered. They even left my husband a bouquet and a card signed by everyone to wish him luck for his heart surgery at Mount Sinai. We are so, so thankful.

This hotel was amazing . We had such a lovely stay. The staff were so attentive , professional , and accommodating . My husband and I celebrated our wedding anniversary here. We were surprised with fruit & chocolate strawberries with gold flakes! The presentation was beautiful & so thoughtful. The showers had great pressure & the place is very clean. Our requests were attended to in a timely fashion. The gym, hot tub with jets, and pool were a plus. We will be back, Thank you for making our stay so comfortable!

I stayed there over the weekend and I loved it. The room I stayed in was well set up. I booked a room with the of view of the city. All the Staff were excellent, The room services was great. I slept well. Almost everything in my room was automated so I wont have to stand up to do anything. Overall it was an excellent stay!

Excellent location and wonderful room. Loved the fruit bowl selection and the stand-alone tub! The rain shower was fabulous, too, with heated floors! My only dislike was the automatic lights in the bathroom at night which have become super popular.

Every aspect of the hotel is beautiful from the lobby to the amenities to the rooms themselves. Friendly, professional employees. Central location to easily get to many areas around the city. Well worth the expense and will be staying here again.

What a special hotel! Such attention to detail and genuine care from the entire staff. Ben, The Front Office Manager, was so helpful arranging everything for our wedding night stay. He and the hotel as whole went above and beyond in every aspect. This is one of the only 5 star hotels in NYC , and it sure didn’t disappoint. Room was immaculate and spacious. Front desk was so helpful and always with a smile.Service was splendid. We can’t wait to return for our 1 year anniversary! Thanks PH NYC ❤️❤️

Great gym equipment, and the gym was also mostly empty at 6/7am on weekdays. Room was extremely silent, I'm very sensitive to noises and I do sleep quite early (~9pm) and I had no trouble sleeping at all.

This place is a 5 star facility with 3 star service, at best. No valet present when we arrived and no assistance from valet while we struggled with kids luggage as we left. The level of service here is NOT the " go the extra step" you would experience at most 5 star hotels in Manhattan. Understaffed by staff who pretty consistently seem annoyed to be there, are often on the phone, and offer just the most basic support when approached. The pool was closed and the Hyatt arranged for guests to swim at the peninsula. Our short visit to the Peninsula to use the pool highlighted the sharp contrast in service levels between the two hotels. Great if you are traveling alone and just want a nice room but no service. Seriously, if you are looking for a hotel with great service, skip the Park Hyatt or you'll be sorely disappointed.

Kristen at the front desk is absolutely fabulous. She handled a few very difficult situations for us with class and calm. She was able to provide the best customer service I have had at any of the hotels I have stayed at. She will be the reason we keep coming back and making this our go-to hotel.

Stayed for 6 nights and then 8 nights with 2 nights gap between the two stays. Check in experience is bad. Specially in the second stay instead of providing a room upgrade as I am hyatt world globalist, they downgraded me. Then I rejected the assigned room and gave me the room category which I booked for. Rooms in general are not very clean. Service is very slow. Laundry service is bad. This hotel is not recommended at all in New York.

My family and I have visited New York many times but so far this trip was the best, and all kudos goes to Park Hyatt hotel. We were family of 12 and had 4 separate rooms. All our needs and requests were taken care off by the hotel staff starting from welcoming us when we got down from our car, to upgrading all our 4 rooms to suites. The staff were very attentive and would get our breakfast on time. The breakfast was amazing and our kids enjoyed their waffles the most. The rooms were clean with an amazing city view from their big windows. Their shower and pool was our favourite!

The Park Hyatt New York is a terrific hotel that I've stayed in many times. My most recent stay was last month in June and it was terrific as usual. The staff is super friendly and service is top notch. The rooms are luxurious and in great shape. The only thing disappointing was the breakfast. Usually I absolutely love the breakfasts, but it's not as good as it was before covid. For example, there were several items that were pre-made and the quality wasn't up to par. (and the "toasts" weren't even toasted.) But, the food and beverage manager stated that they're going to be improving that in the near future, which is great to hear. Again, the Park Hyatt is a wonderful hotel and it's my favorite hotel in New York. You can't really go wrong staying here!

Very nice stay. Although checking in was a bit rough, our room still wasn't ready at 4pm and we arrived at 2pm Wish there was a like more included with the stay, $1500/ night is pricey for a bed, albeit a very nice bed/room The pool area was very cool, was surprised to see a communal steam room (which was awesome) Bar had some exquisite drinks. Very nice hotel but I'm sure there are better values elsewhere in the city

I have always had a good experience at this hotel. I do not require a lot of service, as do some of the one-star reviewers, but have always gotten what I need. I love the location, design, cleanliness I have experienced, incredibly comfortable bed and amenities. I don't think the dining area is very inviting, but I woud rather eat elsewhere. The pool is beautiful but I have never used it.

  • 4/5 Dennis M. 1 year ago on Google
Great location, great rooms and great service. The only reason for 4 stars is because rooms could have better sound treatment for a hotel that costs $800+ a night. You can constantly hear people opening/closing their doors and it's the only annoying part of this hotel. Wet steam room is a highlight though

  • 1/5 Amanda B. 1 year ago on Google
The expensive price tag does not match this hotel at all. At over $450 per night, my room did not have 1 hanger in the closet, the bathroom was dirty and found the previous guest’s eyelashes and eyelash curler, the phone did not work and the modern light system is slow and terrible. During check out, I advised the CSR of the terrible room accommodations and she gave me a typical rude New Yorker attitude.

Stayed during Thanksgiving holiday (Wednesday to Sunday). Allowed my wife and I to check in to our room extremely early (about 930 AM). My wife wanted two luggage racks, and they were quickly brought to the room. My wife had something delivered and it needed to be refrigerated - staff held it in a refrigerator near the front desk, and a small refrigerator was brought to our room fairly quickly. The gym was very good for a hotel gym - a few treadmills, row machine, decent set of dumbbells, two Peloton machines - can get a good workout (for a hotel) in. Subway is a few blocks away. We had a great stay at this hotel with zero issues/concerns.

We stayed at the Park Hyatt over the Thanksgiving holiday. Not only were we a stones throw from the parade, we were centrally located to EVERYTHING. The rooms were immaculate and had all of the modern amenities. Everyone was very attentive and helpful. Lastly, I would like to give a special mention to Rudy in the hotel restaurant. He went out of his way to make sure we had anything and everything we needed. He gave us excellent recommendations, made my children feel extra special and did it all with a smile.

I can’t judge the rooms. Only the bar, drinks and service. Service is wonderful, bar is clean, so are the toilets. Just what you would expect from a hotel like this. Cocktails are good, staff is friendly and they even take away your coat.

Absolutely loved my time here! I came in for my birthday to start the day relaxed & mission accomplished! I arrived early & it was the best simply because no one was there. The amenities were all clean & so was the dressing rooms. Such a gorgeous spa. The staff were all welcoming which was another plus. My masseuse Pam was fantastic. She was so kind as soon as I approached her & all throughout my service which made it delightful. I’d definitely come back for a massage with her. The only thing I’d change is me staying in the pool a bit longer.

Park Hyatt NY is a beautiful, modern hotel. It is located central to many of the activities I enjoy in NYC. The hotel staff are cordial, competent, and helpful. We had a weird experience at The Living Room restaurant where our breakfast came to us with missing food because we said "do not add fresh onions or chives" to the food. I was so surprised that no one came to us to suggest we select alternative dishes or talk to us about the missing food, or ask us if we would still be interested in ordering those dishes without some of the food included in the dishes. I had to bring up the fact that the dishes were incomplete and the explanation was so weird that we won't be going back to the restaurant. The staff at the restaurant are kind, however, they lacked in attentiveness and it's their duty to inform the customer about what's happening and maybe even guide them to select a dish that might be more appropriate when there is an allergy or dietary restriction.

Excellent location, fantastic service and amenities. Tried a connecting room setup, very convenient for families traveling together. Other than the price tag, I have no complaints. And the price tag is my problem not theirs anyway lol. I love the mattress - would want one for my own home! Slept so well.
