Honest review from someone who has stayed in tons of hotels… I’ve never been more disappointed with a hotel in my life. My husband and I splurged and paid $400/night for three nights for a birthday weekend. We expected to stay in a room like the ones pictured on Expedia. But the room we received was terrible. Here’s why: 1. The bathroom door was a poorly built, sliding wooden door which didn’t shut. So, if you had to go to the bathroom, we’ll, your partner will hear everything. 2. Want to wash your hands? Well, the hot water doesn’t work. Only cold water for your morning shave. 3. The amount of dirt and dust in the rug and on the walls was unbelievable. One step on the rug and you physically had to wash your feet. We wore shoes in the room. 4. Want the room cleaned? They only clean every other day. Okay, fine. But they just didn’t at all for us. Petty complaints: 1. When we arrived, there was no soap in our room. 2. The view from the window looked directly into the apartments next door. We could literally watch the neighbor’s TV. 3. The shower is more of a wet room with a hanging cloth. 4. Paint was peeling off the walls. Anyone else want to pay $400/night for this? Even in NYC, this entire experience was unacceptable and Marriott should look into this hotel. And none of this was me being dramatic; just facts.

This hotel charges a lot per night and yet they have staff who don't speak a word of English.is this really a Marriott hotel? Breakfast is free, but nothing great, the usual continental breakfast. It takes ages to get into the elevator especially during breakfast time. Parking is not available. Very disappointed with our stay for the price. The rooms are tiny. The only positive thing is that it's close to times square. There are better ones at a cheaper rate. Do your research. Wouldn't recommend this place.

The staff was excellent and even surprised us with free breakfast and a free bottle of wine at check-in. Special shoutout to Diomarys! She was super friendly, funny and made our breakfast even better! The location of the hotel is great! Close to Times Square, Broadway and many must try restaurants. We were not able to access the rooftop, but the views from our room were pretty awesome. The beds were also pretty comfortable.

The best thing about this place is absolutely the position! The room was clean and when you check in they let you choose if you want it clean every day or every two days. The breakfast is well-assorted! The breakfast room is a bit small compared to the huge number of guests in the building, so if you don't go around 7 am, you probably have to wait to be seated. The elevator sometimes, especially in the morning, takes really a lot of time. Unfortunately one day we waited more than 15 minutes on our floor and decided to take the stairs to go down (22 floors), that is why I am giving to the hotel 4 stars. The staff is really nice and welcoming, especially the ones in the breakfast room!

Location is decent. The room is probably the smallest hotel room that I've ever stayed in, and I've stayed in numerous hotels in NYC. And I could've gotten over that, as I don't spend a lot of time in my hotel room when visiting NYC, however I found the biggest roach that I have ever seen crawling in my shower. Literally, this things was enormous. It was already after midnight, so I managed to kill the nasty thing and left it in the shower....took a pic of it. I showed the front desk the next morning. They asked if I wanted a new room....at this point, what's the use in that...if they have one roach, they have thousands. All that I asked was that someone come get that thing out of my shower....and no one ever showed up. One of the breakfast servers rolled her eyes at me because my daughter had stepped away for a moment and wasn't there with me to eat breakfast at that very moment....she was literally 60-90 seconds behind me. Won't be back to this hotel. This is a blemish on Marriott's name.

We stayed for 6 nights(family vacations). A hotel with everything you need to rest after a long day of walking and entertainment. Close to most popular attractions and well known places. The room was pretty neat and clean. With an incredible staff. The front desk very kind and knowledgeable. Our room was organized every single day. The staff of restaurant was very nice, I remember Diomarys a lady who interacted with every guest that wanted to talk to her or ask for something. Safe way to get in the hotel; key for elevator, room and gym. Definitely I will be back.

Not a 5 Star hotel but a 5 Star review. The value here is tremendous compared to other similar hotels. * Friendly service at check in * Speedy elevators * Felt safe- security often present in the lobby, elevators require key (specific to your floor even) * Excellent location for transit - across from Port Authority bus terminal and with that multiple subway lines * 12 min walk from Amtrak Penn Station * Walkable to great restaurants in Hells Kitchen area * Small but decent sized rooms for NYC * Clean room * Saw a review that said no hot water; I never had an issue Being near the bus terminal, you will encounter some homelessness but I never felt unsafe, even at night. Just be aware of your surroundings.

My stay was absolutely wonderful! The location is right downtown close approximation to eateries galleries bars shops the aquarium etc. My room the parking lot and all common areas were super clean neat and well kept. The staff provided top tier customer service!! Front desk receptionist, Lavinda, had knowledge, skill, a professional demeanor, and pleasant attitude that is unbeatable!! I can say the same for her co-worker, Jordan, as well. Management should commend them both. And management should be commended as well for having the wherewithal to hire such individuals. I'll be back!

Great room on the 24th floor of this Hell’s kitchen location. Our room was clean and quiet. Mostly foreign guests at this location. Everyone was nice except for the hispanic lady in the breakfast room who waved her arms and yelled at people when they tried to sit down at breakfast without waiting to be seated. However, breakfast can be hectic. The front desk staff was exceptional, especially Anthony and Emily. I would return to this location. FYI many smelly bums begging nearby also POT is now legal so many people smoke along the street as well.

The front desk team manager -extremely poor experience on the day of check out when we were convinced to book a taxi through the hotel. T Geo at the reception provided us with a receipt of $85 covering all toll, taxes and tips from the hotel to JFK. When we were on the taxi the driver informed us the total was 95+toll+taxes+tips which totalled the amount of $115 !! This was $35 more than what we agreed, no big deal but the hotel made a deal with us which they should have honored. We rang the front desk multiple times to resolve this but they put us on hold the whole time, eventually we spoke the female manager who told us to pass the phone to the driver (while they drove) spoke on Spanish (which I understand) and told them to charge us how much they wanted and somehow made it out fault. They then immediately cut the line and refused to provide any further assistance. We eventually payed the driver but felt cheated with the poor service after we spent $1500 to stay at the hotel for 5 days. The staff don't care about you and have demonstrated this with our experience. As far as I am concerned the $35 is a small price to pay to never return to the chain again. Also breakfast was terrible, very few options - this hotel was not worth almost $300 a night !

I had prepaid my stay at this hotel. I'm also a Bonvoy Member who travels 20 days a month for business. I always pick Marriott Hotel. I had a problem with my debit card so I had to quickly buy a debit card with 300 $ in it for incidentals at that Fairfield. They do not accept Google Pay so it was tricky because my bank is overseas. Emily at the front desk is the most obnoxious, arrogant, rude, mean person I've ever met at a hotel in my life. Her attitude towards me was not acceptable and does not represent the Marriott Brand at all. There was no manager available so it was not possible to solve my check-in problem. Traveling from JFK, I found myself without any reservation because Emily quickly canceled mine. She's just an awful awful person. Very unprofessional and classless. She refused to apologize. Worst customer service because of that rude woman. Please Marriott, you can't keep this type of person at all. I won't go back because of her attitude and would not recommend this hotel at all.

Fantastic location, friendly staff. Saw multiple complaints about the elevator but I had zero issues with it. Alexis was extremely helpful at check in. Location is great! There was some construction work being done on the building HOWEVER I had no issues with the noise during my stay, I only heard them as I was preparing to leave one morning.

The customer service when checking in was amazing! The two ladies at the front desk were both very pleasant, one gave my daughter a coloring packet while the other explained where I could find ice, where breakfast would be, etc. We were able to check in a little early and our room was clean and ready to go. Also, the location is amazing it only took my daughter and I about 10 minutes to get to the heart of Times Square. We will definitely be back! :)

The rooms are nice but a bit small. Understandable for New York City. Only two of the elevators were working while we were there. This was a problem. I waited for 12 minutes to go downstairs for breakfast and then decided to take the stairs. Breakfast was the standard hotel fare, but with more lines. Overall, I’d be willing to stay here again but I’d try to stay somewhere else.

As a business traveler, Fairfield Inn & Suites New York Times Square proved to be an ideal choice for my stay. Its unbeatable location and impeccably clean, spacious rooms exceeded my expectations for New York City accommodations. Despite its no-frills approach, the hotel provided everything I needed for a productive trip. The convenience of being in the heart of Times Square made it easy to navigate the city for meetings and appointments. While the hotel's small lobby may be noticeable, its focus on functionality rather than extravagance suited my needs perfectly. However, it's worth noting that I did not see an on-site restaurant during my stay.

The value for the price paid was low on my first night as I had to take whatever room was available... The room was clean however the shower diverter was not working properly. The elevators were slow and leaving a challenge. The fitness center was great! All things considered I would stay here again.

Great location and hotel smelled clean at all times. Breakfast experience was great due to their friendly staff, Diomarys was super friendly and kind. Great experience. Overall perfect.

The hotel is fine but they don’t have the infrastructure to handle the amount of people. It takes 10 minutes for the elevator, breakfast lines run up to the lobby. It’s an older hotel but rooms were cleanish and the staff was friendly.

Location, location, location! Great place to stay. The breakfast crew, Diomarys and Teresa were special. Their music set the tone for the day; the atmospheric vibe was great. Everyday, all day someone was cleaning the entrance. Rooms were clean and smelled great.

Stayed at Fairfield in for 4 nights in a King bed room on the 21st floor. Room was a good sized space for both of us. Had a great view from the room. Room was clean, there was plenty of storage space, a safe, coffee maker, a TV, and iron and ironing board, and a mini refrigerator. There are 3 elevators at the hotel. To get off on your floor you need to scan your room card then push the button on the elevator. There is an ice machine and vending machine on the LL floor. Great location and very accessible. It was an easy walk to the hotel from Penn Station. Lots of restaurants, bakeries, and stores near by. Very close to a few subway stations. I didn't any noise from the street. Only when police or ambulance sirens past by. Staff was really friendly. They will clean your room every other day. Breakfast was good there are a wide variety of options. There was always plenty of seats available when we went down for breakfast each day. Hotel was really good value for the money.

Great location as we took the train into New York and it was right across the street from the Moynihan train station. Only a mile and half miles from the Manhattan Port Authority which was great as we were going on a Disney cruise. Room was great, service was great and a very good breakfast. A++++

Great location, super clean and nice! Special thanks to front desk Gregory who made our stay wonderful, and answered all our inquiries also called to ou room to check if everything was great! He went above and beyond. Thank you Fairfield thank you Gregory

Very nice hotel near Port Authority. Very clean with comfortable beds. Service at the front desk is awesome. Free breakfast but long line to wait in the morning. Also they only had one of three elevators operational. This is the reason for 4 star vs 5 star rating. But I would stay here again

I really recommend this hotel which is ideally situated near the metro and centre Manhattan. The service is outstanding with very friendly staff. The rooms are very clean and the shower is spacious . Breakfast is the only thing that could be improved. Not because of the food or service, but for the lack of space and waiting time to be seated. Have patients and arrive early to experience the breakfast as it is meant to be. The staff do everything to assist you and you can pick your food and take it to your room to enjoy.

This hotel is just what we needed and expected. Since the arrival the check in was super quick and a really friendly guy received us; then we were accommodated in the last floor with a great view of the city. The room was very clean and the cleaning service every day kept it perfect. The amenities in the room were body wash, shampoo and conditioner but if you need body lotion or shower cap you can request them in the lobby. The included breakfast is very convenient and you can save a lot of money here. Many options to choose and everything was tasty, all the buns were fresh and delicious, we also could take a coffee to go everyday to our NY adventure. Finally, they give you a free beer everyday (actually half of a beer) which was really nice. I almost forget the location, which was absolutely perfect and close to everything! I definitely recommend this place and would come back again with no doubt!

First of all: All staff members are very nice and helpful and upgrade the entire hotel by at least 1 star. The criticism only relates to the hotel: the interior is old and worn. The rooms are damp and musty. Electrics are outdated and the fuse blows when you charge several electrical devices. Breakfast takes some getting used to and there was sometimes no bacon and always no baked beans (no American breakfast). And everything is disposable tableware. It doesn't have to be anymore these days.

Great location, steps to subway, Port Authority & Times Square. Rooms were clean & cosy. Breakfast area was bright and the staff and food selection was incredible. They were also happy to let you take breakfast items to go. Have to give a mention to the front desk staff who were all so warm and friendly, went out of their way to make sure we were well taken care of. Anna Leigh in particular was excellent and professional. Alexis and Gregory also did a wonderful job. Would definitely recommend.

Has a great experience here with my family. We arrived early from a red eye flight to drop our bags for the morning until checkin time and they had 2 rooms available and allowed us to check in at 7:00am instead of 4:00pm. Breakfast always had a good variety and the breakfast staff was amazing. The rooms were small which is typical for for NYC, but they were clean and we just needed a place to sleep at night. Location is great, easy walk to time square and next to port authority and a subway stop. For the price of staying in the Time Square area I don’t think you can beat the value here! Would stay here again.

The room is tiny, but for the price and location it's a good deal. And they have free breakfast!! The front desk staff was not always the best or helpful, but there was a gentleman who worked an afternoon/evening shift who was awesome. Wish I had remembered his name... Also, the sweetheart who worked as a breakfast attendant was amazing as well.

My partner and I stayed here for just one night. Right across the street from Port Authority, which was perfect for us. The lobby can get pretty crowded, so I wouldn't recommend checking in during the rush hour. Our room was okay. The bathroom feels a little dated, I feel like this is the area that could be easily improved. Shampoo fell off the wall several times. Those kind of details give you a cheap motel feeling. Overall a good place to spend a night before the next trip.

Stayed in this place for a year while working during pandemic. Anthony and Ivan went above and beyond to make sure our stay was awesome. No complaints here at all. Will return soon

The best part of our stay was Diomarys in the Breakfast lounge. Every morning we were there, she made me a personal hot chocolate with milk, since I don’t like hot chocolate with hot water. It was just such a personal touch and would offer to make it herself. She is the best employee in this whole hotel!

The hotel is ok. The rooms are small but the shower and bed are fine and the AC worked well. Good location. Close to Times Square and plenty of bus/subway stations but the immediate neighbourhood is quite sketchy. Plenty of “characters” dotted around the place so can be a little intimidating for some travellers. The breakfast is alright but quite limited in daily options, however the staff at breakfast are lovely.

We stayed here over Halloween weekend. The room was clean and the front desk staff was very friendly. The location is close enough to Time Square/Broadway that you have easy access to everything you could want, but it's also set back enough where you can find some relatively quiet. The room was a decent size and bed was comfy. We'll stay again for sure.

Loved our stay here! Very friendly and hardworking staff. Always time for some small talk when you meet them in the elevator, or at breakfast. Especially the staff at the breakfastbuffet work so hard, and always with a smile! The rooms were clean and with a nice view. Unfortunately the rooftopbar was closed but the person at the front desk gave us a few other options. Only advice I can give: sustainability! It hurts to see every apple wrapped in plastic, and sooo much plastic cutlery thrown away after every breakfast. But: for sure would recommend to stay here!

All of the staff went out of their way anytime I had a question or need. The room was small, but very clean. The breakfast room was busy, but the staff kept it running efficiently! I had a late flight at checkout and the staff stored my luggage, so I could spend the day out.. I would stay here again.

We booked almost 50 rooms in a block over the long Labor Day weekend for our daughter's wedding in Long Island. This location in Times Square was great for all the friends near and far to come in and spend the weekend in NY. Kathia Chan, Jr. Sales Manager, handled our group impeccably and she and the entire team at every level in the hotel just went above and beyond to be welcoming, courteous, accommodating, and helpful. We practically moved a small army (and sooo much stuff) into the hotel last week and we are moving that army in reverse today. From the tiniest gestures of assisting our elderly guests with with coffee, to helping us figure out extended refrigeration and everything in between, they could not have taken better care of us. Rooms were also super clean, well appointed, and spacious by Manhattan standards. the coziness of the facility worked really well for us and our guests. Marvelous weekend at a rate our wide range of guests really appreciated too.

Very conveniently lovated and clean. The rooms are very tiny, but clean. AC works well. Uncomfortable beds, but lots of pillows. Bathroom lacked shelves for toiletries. Breakfast is good and well run (very friendly staff and efficient). I'm not sure why housekeeping didn't come until checkout time.

  • 5/5 Chen A. 2 years ago on Google
The hotel is great! Big room, and clean. You need to ask if you want them to clean it the night before. Breakfast is really good and we were surprised 😮 Bagels, eggs, cheese and Starbucks coffee ☕ Warmly suggested!! A good value for money.

Marriott staff steals items from their guest. Do not bring anything valuable. If you bring up concerns about staff stealing to the front desk, you will be dismissed. The front desk was not concerned about things being stolen by staff and made it seem like it was an expected occurrence. Additionally, the breakfast staff is very rude, and the breakfast area is very unhygienic.
