I am currently staying here! Pretty cheap compared to other overpriced places. If you are a light sleeper you may not enjoy your sleep here. Is next by a train and it can get pretty loud. You are also sharing the room with strangers - I was lucky to share the room with people who were respectful , quiet and thankfully nothing got stolen from me. I am a paranoid person in general and every time I left the room I hoped when I came back all my staff would be there (and they were! But you are taking a risk) The people at the front desk were as nice as a new yorker would be. I am from Texas so I am used to better friendlier hospitality, but this is New York and I am pleased with what I got! Also bring your own shampoo, toothpaste and hand soap because they are not provided! They do however give you a towel and a blanket! You are not allowed to eat nor drink in the rooms - they have a kitchen downstairs. The hotel is nearby some restaurants and a train station so that’s another plus. Overall you are given what you paid for! I would come again for a short time!

No curfew. I didn't use most of the amenities, but they supplied a towel and blanket. Was very warm and cozy. Very noisy with train sounds but they have ear plugs at the front desk if you need- I didn't and I slept well. Lockers in room and I had a plug on my top bunk which was nice! The Hudson Market next door is 24 hours in case you need something small to eat when you get in

It is a safe and pretty clean place to stay. I would consider staying there again if I was in a bind and needed a “cheap” place to stay. Check in was pretty easy but when I got into my room to my assigned bed, it was obviously used (the top sheet was completely crumpled at the end of the bed). So went down stairs to ask for another and was told the other free beds in the room I could use (I wasn’t assigned a new bed nor did anyone ever come up to check on the bed). They only provide a top sheet, no comforter or thicker blanket (later found out you might have been able to check out a fleece) and it was cold since it’s winter. I used my towel as a second blanket. Train platform is pretty close so if you’re a light sleeper, I recommend ear plugs, but makes getting around easy. The in room bathroom set up is a little awkward. Shower is an opaque glass door so your outline is there for all to see. And the toilet room in my room did not have any hooks or counter space to hold your things. Plus it was difficult to use the toilet with how close it was positioned to the wall. I wasn’t expecting luxury as I knew it was a hostel, but a little more communication about extra blankets or asking if I needed to rent a towel (the towel mentioned above was my own) would have bumped up my rating.

Good place to stay if u are traveling through new york or you need stay a night after a flight. Is easy to get there to the airport Kitchen, restrooms and showers! They have everything that you need. Very comfortable. A little loud, but is new york, is not the hostel. You pay for blanket and towel

Every single person that works reception is extremely rude, every time you ask them something it feels like you are inconveniencing them. Rooms are fine, except for the open ceiling window that makes you feel like you are sleeping on the train tracks. We were charged 10$ for 2 bags for luggage storage, when their website very clearly states 3$ per bag. Ludicrous to have to pay for the most basic service. Kitchen is clean. Pool cues are out-of-service. Overall nice place, but no regard for the customer.

So, the only reason I booked this place was because I was on a budget, and needed to save money. I used to backpack and stay in hostels in my 20s, but hadn't stayed in one for ages... I'm 31 now, and can say I've grown out of hostel sleeping! This was an experience... Having the bathroom in the room was both nice and a bit of a pain. There's no outlet in the bathroom, which is not cool. I couldn't blow dry my hair ahead of going to a show, so had to go looking less than good... Disappointing. The lockers in the rooms are also super tiny and pretty useless, so you just have to trust that people won't take your stuff. The pillows are laughable. I folded mine in half and it still wasn't thick enough. The bed itself was pretty comfy, and the sheets were nice, though. The communal space in the basement is cool, and definitely worth checking out if you're trying to be social. Pack earplugs and a sleep mask. My suggestion for any hostel, but you will hear NY street noise, and your fellow roommates. Price is good for what you get. It was clean (except for the shower - it was pretty gross), check in was easy, and it's safe. The location is perfection, can't ask for much better at this rate, honestly. Just know that you are sleeping in a hostel... Haha.

The guy who made the check in is extremely rude. The toilet didn't work, was disgusting super dirty and was liking urine water everywhere outside of the bathroom. The hostel is full of empty rooms and the guy in front desk just refuse to change my room. I asked about the manager and he just refuse to give me the information. Even if it's a health violation to the safety regulations. I decided to ask for reimburse my money back and he said that i needed to leave the hostel.

Alright hostel when considered the low price. Staff was friendly and nice. The beds were not very good and the rooms could have had better ventilation. The rooms aren’t really big and it would be a problem if all guests were bringing real suitcases. The lockers can only fit a small hand luggage.

Terrible experience one of the two nights I stayed from 10/24-10-26. Another guest came and aggressively interrupted my sleep because management never told her she took the wrong bed. She should have been notified she took the wrong bed and that her things were changed of place. I have an invisible disability and my whole night was ruined and next day I wasn't functioning well. I asked management to please changed this individual to another room and I was ignored. The young guy didn't show any humanity or consideration. This has been the only American hostel I ever stayed and it was a horrible experience, like most of their culture. Also this establishment is breaking accessibility guidelines for disabled individuals, lack of ventilation in kitchen, among other things they should be able to fix. Horrible experience.

This was one of my favourite places to stay around New York City. The rooms were so clean. Having the bathroom and showers in the room felt so private compared to shared ones I've stayed at before. I stayed in an 8 bedroom female dorm and it wasn't full on either night that I stayed. The bag storage was $7, the lockers in the room were quite small so my bag didn't fit, I didn't really mind I felt quite safe. Being right near the subway straight into the city was great. The WiFi wasn't the best in my room but worked very well in the basement with Couches and a kitchen. It was also next to a food store which was great. Overall had a great stay and will look at coming back next time I'm in New York.

I stayed for 7 nights, which is the max number of nights you can stay in a row. Rooms were nice - cleaned every day but just a quick scrub of the bathroom and shower. Would be better if there was a bit more of a deep clean more often or at least a refresh of sheets, especially for those staying more nights. Crazy loud - bring ear plugs for sure. The location is good if you're planning on mostly staying in the area but it takes a while to get anywhere else on the train, like downtown Brooklyn or uptown Manhattan. Queens Plaza and Queensborough Plaza stations are nearby but the train ride + waiting takes a while. The service was by far the best part - really nice and helpful staff. If you can't handle a lot of noise or can't commit to at least 45 min on the subway to get anywhere, I'd recommend looking somewhere else. But if those things don't bother you (they really were minor inconveniences for me... I managed to do everything I needed and more, it just took a little longer than I thought) then I definitely recommend Q4.

Okay, this place isn't amazing or anything special, BUT if you're looking to save some serious money - it's worth it. Located right next to the subway station and a small grocery store is great for folks trying to save. Plus, when you're in NYC all you need is a clean bed and a clean shower, right? I stayed in the lowest rated ($) room possible and don't have any complaints other than it will get stuffy sharing a room with 7 other people. Enjoy yourself, save some cash and see the city. I'd do it again!

I’m giving this hostel 2 stars instead of 1, because of some friendly crew members like the girl with the face tattoo, that actually tried to help me. Apart from that, this hostel is not worth my money. What went wrong: - Most of the dorm beds don’t have their own power plug. Which means you have to charge your valuable electronics out in the open, for others to take. IF there is a free plug available (which in my case wasn’t even the case) - My bed is right below the air conditioning. Apparerently the shower only turns hot when you turn the Airco on. So I was forced to sleep through a breeze of cold air during the night. Nice way to get ill really fast :) - The vibe in the hostel is grim and unsocial, and there are no activities organized by the hostel to break it - When I informed a staff member about my dissatisfaction with the stay, he simply said he couldn’t help me. And he said normally people never complain (I can hardly believe it) - There is no elevator - There is no laundry service - You’ll get this prison simulation for only $ 70 a night. If you want a proper hostel experience though, check out HI NYC. It’s fun and they actually care about their guests.

The best hostel in NY, it has a kitchen, games room, the area is safe, modern, the subway is 3 minutes away, it takes you directly to all the touristic places, the people who work there are very nice people! A very clean hostel, the cleaning people come every day to clean like twice, great! Without a doubt I recommend it, this place is worth it! 🤩

Phenomenal... Stayed in November and forgot to post. I usually stay in Manhattan, but I was amazed. Its cute, quirky, quaint, and in a location with everything you need around; food, bodegas, gym, market. I kinda didn't travel outside of the bubble and made a bunch of friends. Simple, but large and cozy. Perfect wifi, bathrooms clean, and cozy. Got a little warm, but the great thing is we got to open the window. Will stay again, and would highly recommend!

Absolutely no problems from check in to check out. Clean rooms, clean beds, clean bathroom and shower. I felt very safe and quite comfortable there. The staff was nice and they had extra blankets and towels ready if you needed them. There is a great little market right next door where you can grab anything you you'd like to eat or drink. Search Hudson Food Market for info. Located close to the subway entrances, this was a perfect place to stay and then catch the train wherever you need to go. The subway does cause an audible din so if you are a light sleeper, bring earplugs. It did not bother me in the least. Planet Fitness is super close if you need a workout. Overall, I do recommend this hostel. From teens to retirees, everyone is welcome.

Picked this hostel because it was rated as the best in NY area. But it's actually the worst we've ever been to. The showers are disgustingly dirty and full mold. The whole place has a funny smell. And since it's right next to the subway stations the noise can be too much at night. Of the three people I saw at the front desk during the week I was there, none was nice enough to be at a any hostel fron desk. The terminal didn't work the night we got there so we had to take cash out of the atm they have there and the stay ended up being far more expensive paying like that. It was not our problem but still had to fix it since the woman at the front desk wouldn't even bother to work it out. It was the only place where my card didn't work. It is conveniently located so everything is near enough, and the shower and toilet are inside the room, you can choose how many people you want to share with, there's that. Not a hostel I would recommend.

Staffs are great! Location is excellent. You can take air train and E line to Queens Plaza from JFK. Sad to hear that no more open mic at lounge after pandemic. Hope one day events will start again.

The hostel is located conveniently close to two metro Stations, but because of that it is very loud. The hostel offers earplugs to help with the noise problem. Except for one very moody (or rude, really) person, the staff was kind and helpful. The rooms and common areas were extremely clean. It's a very good place to stay, and the price is very fair.

For the price I got, pretty worth it. Clean bed, towels provided, large common space, place is clean. Very good location. Rooms might be a bit small for a 6 person room, not much air flow in the room so there can be an unpleasant smell sometimes.

A very OK hostel. Rooms were nice, shower was great, it was clean and is well located. Good value for money. Really didn't like that they kick you off the premises 30 minutes after check-out. We had a late train out and wanted to just relax in the common area before our journey. Their no exceptions attitude was disappointing.

Q4/New York doesnt have a hostel culture as seen in other parts of the world. The hostel is neat and located in Queens with about 30mins connecting time to Manhattan and Central park. The hostel is decent but doesnt pay heed to needs of travelers. Linens were dirty, towel was not provided at reception/nor asked, so had to shuttle between reception and 3rd floor a few times. No introduction to the amenities of the hostel. It seems just a cheap place to bunk, don't expect hostel/travel culture. The man at the desk was just rude, to be precise. The hostel will lose half of its job due to the way they handle travelers.

Rude staff at checkin and at checkput - i asked for storage for sn hour or two while i checked out the museum 10 min.away but they told me it was full in the meantime while the storage door stood open with only few bags and empty shelves…didn’t look full to me! Not at all a customer friendly place

Had a reservation. Arrived at 7 in the evening, door was locked. Ringed and called for an hour, without the slightest hint of a response. Had to give up and take a substantially more expensive last-minute booking at another hotel. If you can't afford a 24-hour reception nor security, at least don't advertise that. Of all my reviews in the past six years, this is the fourth 1-star review - well done.

Q4 Hotel and Hostel is a remarkable NYC gem. Its quiet vibe is perfect for digital nomads who simply like to work around others and still have privacy. The atmosphere is artistic and authentic. The amenities include clean bathrooms, hot showers, a great common area and kitchen, complete dishes, and great staff. Friendly and dependable in two words. They have several refrigerators so there is ample space to store your groceries from the Good Vibes grocery store or Hudson Food Market. They even have a meditation room which could double as a potluck space. It has beautiful cushions and pillows. To cap it all off this place is a renovated bank. The reception desk opens to a giant safe surrounded by recommissioned safety deposit boxes. This is a brilliant and affordable stay for those who appreciate the bold and the quiet. Bold art, bold service, cleanliness, and remarkably quiet experience considering how close we are to the subway. If I were a spider, say Anansi, with thumbs, all 8 would be up.

I stayed in their 6 person hostel for a week. During which I noticed several good and bad things about this hostel. The bad things I noticed were: nails in the floorboards protruded out of the floor and destroyed some of my socks, they do not provide extra blankets, pillows, or towels due to availability, no elevators, power outlets in my room were loose enough for my charge to repeatedly fall out, can hear quite a lot of road noise at night. The gold things I noticed were: the bathroom was cleaned several times a week, the community kitchen/lounge area is clean daily, near several subway stops, the environment felt safe, internet was really good (300mbps+ down/up), staff was friendly, hot showers, hostel lockers of decent size (60L), most importantly the price was good relative to local hotels. With so many good/bad things about this Hostel, I feel like this is a great place to stay if you just need a safe place to sleep at night.

the hostel located near the very busy street, elevated train run day and night. so, basically you hear all the noise whole day and whole night. AC turn off automatically after few hours, so when you asleep it will automatically off, hot like hell. the location is good, all the subway entrance near there. walkable.

Clean, welcoming, and comfy. Check in was a breeze, and I appreciated the 24h desk. The common room and kitchen were well laid out, and the room itself wasnt crowded, just the right amount of space for a 6 person dorm. Lots of outlets, and lockers for everyone. Would happily stay again!

I’d like to thank the staff, in particular Espinoza, Vasilius, Catherine, Jennifer, Rosa (sorry if sb’s name I pronounce wrong). You’re great guys, thanku for your hospitality, help, competence and leadership in solving some problems with our reservation (these problems were because of us, not the hostel). I was staying at this hostel with my friend for 9 nights. Recommend! You will find there everything you expect from the hostel, the hostel also provides an iron and the hair dryer (at the reception). PS: by the way, Espinosa, I found my Tissot watch, it was deep hidden in my backbag )

I think that I would definitely repeat this hostel because it was cheap and for the price I paid was worth it, it has a cool basement with a tennis table, pool table (even though the sticks aren't good) and a well equipped kitchen. Even though you don't get to vibe that much with other people. To improve they should plan activities for guests or something. The staff were just doing their jobs, they weren't the nicest people but surely they weren't rude at anytime. The location is good you are not in Manhattan but you are near Queensboro plaza subway that gets you to Manhattan in no time. Also next to the hostel there is a 24 hours shop where you can order food or just buy groceries.

Nightmare: The noise of the subway and street is constant and terrible. The room shakes. The a/c whines. You need ear plugs, which they don't tell you about. I literally didn't sleep the first night. I don't know how this place stays in business. Stay anywhere else.

Worst customer service and a very depressive atmosphere. These guys don’t have enough supplies nor do they have convenient charging ports. When asked upon for anything, they don’t reply or even make you feel comfortable. Location wise it’s fine but I wouldn’t recommend this property to anyone! Their representative was very rude with me. Nor do they have enough facilities.

Stayed the weekend for a Bach. party and I must say, service, quality, location and staff were beyond even the most expensive hotels I've stayed at. Almost every restaurant, bodega and transportation method was easily accessible and they had rooftop access which was incredible. Def. recommend.

Stayed here for about 3 days and I have no complaints whatsoever. The staff was helpful and polite. The cleaning staff comes through every morning to clean the public areas as well as the rooms. The location is convenient because there's lots of store nearby. Highly recommend!

Had a fully paid for reservation, hotel refused to allow checkin. The front desk advised me we don't allow faggotts into our property. For a variety of reasons, his matter then caused me to contract covid, bronchitas and phenomia. I was hospitalized and I'm suffering from life threatening medical complications, because they don't allow "faggotts." I contacted the police, my attorneys, filed a lawsuit and restraining order on these people. Don't let whatever "pros" you find about this property, no matter how much they may accommodate your travel needs, steer you into booking here. I would not wish what I've gone through on anyone. Additionally I had property stolen, during a previous trip. The Hotels solution was to procesabfraudulent charges to my Bank account, causing me to block the card and order a new one, then be out on the street, literally.

my sister and i went to drop our bags off before check in time and they let us check in early because the beds were ready, which was very nice! our room had a bathroom attached which was good. it was relatively clean and in a good area + super close to the subway. the common area was cool. make sure your lock is thick because the lockers are able to be opened if its thin enough. the kitchen didnt have any oil to use while i was there and when i asked about it they said i could use anything that was in the "free" area. there WAS a fair amount of food/ingredients to use there (most of which seemed to be left by someone staying there) but once again, no oil. while i believe cooking oil or even butter SHOULD just be provided in any communal kitchen, i do understand it is a hostel, so this is more of a warning for anyone planning to cook while you're there rather than a complaint. hopefully someone else will bite the bullet, buy some oil and leave it there for other people to use as i doubt the hostel will do so. other than that, i thought it was good! i hesitantly gave service only 4 stars as per the issue of the incomplete kitchen, but other than that (and apathy to said issue) i didnt really have any problems with the service.

  • 2/5 Brendan B. 8 months ago on Google
Bed was comfy , outside train noise didnt bother me personally but be aware, it's loud. Lockers in the room are tiny, and the bathroom is horrible. Also, the common room downstairs is very grim and soulless. No activities organised either , which was disappointing.

Had a great stay at the Q4 hostel, so much so I came back again. It's not everyone's cup of tea, not a tonne of atmosphere, but when you're paying for clean, adequate facilities, a convenient location and a place to lay your head, it's better than you'll get anywhere else for the money. I'd probably give it 4 stars on that basis. Really, the 5* rating is for the staff. I had two different people at the desk and both were great - they knew their stuff, were polite, helpful and available any time. When I was checking out, there was a member of staff called Javier on desk who was having to deal with an extremely rude and belligerent member of the public, while tending to a growing queue of people in the foyer. Anyone who's worked in hospitality will recognise this as their worst nightmare: an unreasonable complainant who won't take no for an answer and won't accept an apology, and a large group of people growing more and more frustrated by having to wait. Nevertheless, he dealt with it extremely well and managed to keep a cool, professional demeanor in spite of the situation. Really was 5* service.

Great value for money in NYC, esp. for budget travelers from the US or international. Clean. Kitchen, fridge, large dining and recreation area in the basement. Convenient to multiple Subway lines. Right next to it is a Hilton Garden inn, in case people are concerned about location. Hudson Mart is adjacent and serves hot food. Good, safe guests overall. Did not feel insecure in any way. Will stay here again in a heartbeat.

Q4 is impressively a clean place (keep it that way Q4). Staff was friendly & helpful when asked directions/questions (except 1 who was focused on her phone than customer service). Guests in the room were so friendly (planning our next stay together). Q4 is located adjacent to train lines making access around NYC easy (ex: You can get to Time Square in 15 mins) although it’s 24-hr-train lines noise was unbearable. With all of that: I will stay at Q4 again making it a memorable one again 😀

Overall a great place to stay at! This is my 2nd time here. The beds are super comfortable. Last time I was in room 204, this room features a door to the shared bathroom and a door with a lock to the toilet. Room 207, where I'm at now, has a shower curtain and the toilet doesn't have a lock, it's not problematic, but it would've been nice to be able to lock the door. Also, the bottom bunk where I'm sleeping in now has a lot of draft from the windows so it can be chilly, especially during the colder season(s), you can just wear a hoodie etc. The price for the rooms are very cheap, location is amazing, 15 minutes with the subway to time square from where you can take the subway to every other place. Would recommend this hostel!

Honestly, they're not bad. The price point is the lowest you'll get for pretty much any hotel/hostel in the area and the hotel is close to a lot of major subways. The front desk person was attentive and generous and there's even a really nice, affordable store next door that sells things like bottled water, fresh coffee and pastries and food, which is convenient considering this hostel does not have a community fridge. Only complaint is that you can hear the subways drive nearby when you sleep, but hey it's New York. Would book again. Good value.

Q4 is GREAT!!! The staff (every single member deserves recognition) is extremely professional and insightful, especially Tanvir. He will take great of you at the front desk! Trains and buses to Manhattan are minutes away. I highly recommend the 4 bed dorm. Overall, Q4 is clean and convenient.!

The two ladies at the front desk was quite rude and things were quite unsystematic. There wasn’t any security or privacy either. Every time you had to go up to your room, someone had to accompany you and the wait time was 15 minutes at minimum. The bed wasn’t made on time and the bedsheet given was not clean either. Had to request to get a new one so I could make my own bed.

  • 1/5 Karra W. 1 year ago on Google
Honestly. I loved how cleanish everything was and the modern look. But the customer service was not it. I’m a flight attendant so I booked 2 nights for an anticipated trip. Upon arriving there was food all over my bed and all that was done was a swift Lysol spray. I then got called for a trip the next day of my stay and last minute had been hoping to return the same night but that was not the case. I was calling and calling the front desk to try to communicate my last minute change of plans and make sure my things were kept away for my check out the next day. I called off and on maybe from around 3pmTuesday evening to about noon the next day. None of these calls were answered or returned by the front desk.. I even had a friend call for me no answer. Then once I finally got someone to respond via email… I was informed my bed was already sold to someone else the same night I paid for it. I left my stuff neatly put away and came back to the hotel wanting full charges for another night even though I myself wasn’t there and had been unable to communicate with them over the phone. When I returned all of my things had been gone through and my blanket was being used by another person. I’m lucky nothing was stolen. I’m sorry but this experience made Q4 trash to me. I get that this is a hostel but this is basic respect and expectations. I’ll book a regular hotel next time that has standards. Thanks!

like i have a evil person follows me to every where i got , a evil spirit to every place trip even san diego not sure where i pick up this spiri from. a hostel or a place or a ex bf but im sure to they will follow me to my current plans and hostel.. . to make sure that i feel uncomfortable panic. not Stella not welcome and have a bad experience and be not liked. possible my ex bf and along way will like to collect like minded abusers like that. to follow me or make me to be unsuccessful in my life. although i was very much heading to my success. that after i removed negative persons from mu life to have a stellar life and talent and direction despite. I still felt presence of this demon spiirt following me to where i go, laughing and negative energy following me, trying to identify this as an abusive ex bf. who likes to triangulate with others or some creep who stalked me from some place. seeking misery company. Possible that, might happen in past of this hostel others..... conern about riviews here of rude staff, not clean but prices seem ok. people selling beds in hostels for 80 dollars a night. u can get a decent hotel for 100 and pay 50 each, and have privacy.. well in past been ok. ihoping the evil spirit does not follow me again.

This place is a hidden gem. It was clean, comfy and the staff were great! It’s also right next to door to a 24/7 market that I can’t recommend enough. I love that this was an old bank renovated and it’s super affordable: I shared with two others girls (awesome, new besties!) but you can also book a room for yourself. The kitchen was clean, fresh towels and blankets: only wish you get could extra pillows. I’ll for sure be staying here on my next visit.

The location is good, 2 min from lots of trains that can take you anywhere. Mid town is 7 min away by train. The hotel is very clean, the staff is super nice and helpful. The one thing is it being so close to the train makes noise 24/7 to rooms facing the tracks

Stayed here once in 2017 and again this past labor day weekend. The hostel was overbooked so we were given a private room with an extremely comfortable queen bed and the softest towels I’ve ever used! Bathroom is a bit small and plugs are in weird locations, but the room was absolutely perfect for our needs. Plus, the location is great.

The common room they have is really good, met a lot of people and had good fun there. The rooms themselves are okay, the main problem for most at the hostel was that the temperature controls were broken and needed constant attention from ownership. Room could get unbearably hot for some. Had good location though, subway was nearby and the ride to Manhattan was very short.

The rooms are fairly small for the price. No side-tables/tables in the room I stayed. The staff was not very welcoming and whatever it was asked of them they did it stiffly. They don't even care to be basically polite. The hostel doesn't provide basic amenities like drinking water! The toilet is separated from the sink and the shower. But everything is integrated in the room,so there is too much fuss whenever someone wants to use one of the three. The room was not sparkling clean but it was fairly clean, mainly the shower wasn't so clean. The AC made a terrible noise and didn't operate for warm air, only for cold, despite the temperature adjustment. Extreme noises from outside(e.g. trains, motorbikes) due to the poor construction of the windows and possible multiple noises from inside (e.g. snoring, the room is very small so 6 males in a room might be highly problematic).Conclusively, the hostel is located in a great location, very close to Manhattan,it is one of the cheapest options, especially if you want to avoid Bronx but I would totally avoid it if you are a light sleeper as me.

Best Hostle in the area! I've stayed at a couple, and this one is both the cheapest, AND the best. Its beautiful with a beautiful and modern cooking area and gaming room for socializing and eating. Some people are upset it isnt private rooms, but its $35 a night with a place to sleep, shower, cook, play pool and ping pong in NEW YORK CITY! The staff at all the hostels I've stayed at have been very nice, but the Q4s staff REALLY goes above and beyond. In both customer service AND friendliness. The manager is a great guy with a heart of gold and will do his best to accommodate you or help you in anyway possibly. Also staff member Steven has been EXCEEDINGLY helpful in both my stay at the hostel as well as explaining New Yorks 5 boroughs and how to get around on the subway system. Truly ALL of the staff are very kind and gracious even the cleaning staff are nice here. And that's really saying something for New York! If you're coming to New York and need a cheap place to say, I can tell you this is both the best and the cheapest in the city!

I stayed in an 8-bed room that only had space for 6 beds. No space to sit. Not enough space for luggage, esp for top bunkers. Needs a wall-mounted shelf for top. Room was too hot w/ no air circulation and bad smell. Needs a fan and/or air purifier. A white noise machine too. 1 bath in 8 bed room which only 1 person can use even tho it has enough space for better design. Common room is basic and feels rundown. It feels unloved & unthoughtfully done. Also, they offer free copies of the far-right Epoch Times. Very off-putting.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ My stay at Q4 New York exceeded all expectations! This hostel truly deserves a solid 5-star rating. From the moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted by the friendly staff who made me feel right at home. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and they were always ready to assist with any questions or requests I had during my stay. The cleanliness of the facilities was impeccable, and I was pleasantly surprised by the modern and stylish design of the hostel. The dorm room I stayed in was comfortable, and the beds were cozy with individual charging outlets and lockers for added convenience. One of the standout features of Q4 New York was the vibrant and inclusive atmosphere. I met fellow travelers from all over the world in the common areas and during the hostel's organized events. It's the perfect place for solo travelers like myself to make new friends and share unforgettable experiences. The location couldn't be better – centrally located in the heart of New York City, with easy access to public transportation and countless attractions within walking distance. It made exploring the city a breeze. I also appreciated the hostel's commitment to sustainability, with eco-friendly initiatives like recycling and energy-saving practices. Overall, my stay at Q4 New York was fantastic, and I can't wait to return. If you're looking for a comfortable, clean, and sociable hostel in the heart of the Big Apple, look no further. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
